The Falling Starlet (reserved)

Suddenly Ruby felt a lot better, better than she'd felt in, oh, she didn't know how long. Se even made a joke with the Doc, saying, "Cute butt, huh?" and grinned happily.

Her worries were forgotten and she felt lightheaded, almost drunk. No, exactly like she was drunk. Not that she'd been drunk very often.

"I'm okay now, Papa Bear. Maybe you could get your team to take me home? Smuggle me out of the hospital so the reporters don't see me? I'll be there waiting for you to come and look after me."

Ruby started to gather her things knowing that all was well with her world. Things had definitely changed. She even hummed a non-descript happy tune as she prepared to leave.

Her Papa Bear liked her! She was his Little Babygirl. His darlin'. He had her back. He was her Daddy and he was going to take care of her. It was everything she wanted. Except she didn't know quite what she wanted and had no idea what Axel had meant by it all. But she knew that he knew what it meant, and that she'd find out. And he liked seeing her naked! Liked it very much. Didn't just like her naked but liked her very much, naked. Liked her naked body very much. A very beautiful naked young body. How was that for a compliment? It made her want to take her clothes off right there. Except there were too many other people around and she hadn't the energy to explain. But still, wow!

And he'd given her, her instructions. Continue acting, get a circle of friends, tell Papa Bear everything. Everything. Should she confess to comforting herself? Confess that she wanted to comfort herself right now? Or at least, go home and comfort herself thinking of his hug, of being in his strong arms. Of his naked butt with her hands on it or her heels. Heels? Where did that come from? Damn, but she was tingling inside. What if Papa Bear comforted her? Was that too bad a thought to even contemplate? Probably, and he'd be so disgusted with her he'd quit and then where would she be? No, she couldn't risk losing him. But she could think, imagine. Imagine those strong beautiful hands on her body, comforting her, comforting her naked body, on her breasts, between her legs. She needed to get home, fast. Comfort, then sleep.

"You look after my Axel and send him home to me as quick as you can!" she urged the Doc, then blew a kiss at Axel the Awesome and went out to her protectors.

The next morning, Joel was there at 0800 per Doctor's order for Axel to be discharged. He walked in to find Doctor Evans and Axel chuckling about some joke and said, "Well, seems like he is all better now."

Both of them turned and Axel smiled saying, "Ready to get out of here for sure. Not that the company has been pleasant at all. Of all the hospitals to wind up in, this one is probably the best."

"Ahh... Flattery will get you everywhere." The Doctor said with a slight flush and giggle. She turned to Joel saying, "He your ride?"

"Yes ma'am. Per your orders." He said as he tucked a business card she had given him with her personal phone number on the back of it, into his pocket. Fully dressed and ready to go, Axel walked out with Joel thanking the doctor and the nurses once again as he left.

Joel glanced back to see the good Doctor standing in the doorway to the room watching Axel as he headed away. He said, "She is a hot little number. Doctor too. Can't really go wrong there."

Axel glanced back once more and waved at her before slipping into the elevator and hitting the ground floor. As the door closed, Joel said, "So what exactly happened in your room with Ruby yesterday? She was threatening to quit one minute, then practically skipping high as a kite the next. What did you say to her?"

Axel said, "You know... I was trying to comfort her a moment. I can see when someone is about to explode internally and she was there. I just brought her off the ledge and helped her stay focused."

"You don't expect me to believe that is all that happened do you?" Joel said as the elevator door opened and the two men walked out.

"I am not following." Axel said calmly as they walked through the main lobby towards the exits.

"I personally took her back to her condo and she was singing to herself, humming, and looking as if she had won some kind of lottery. Someone doesn't act that way if they were JUST being pulled off the ledge. Don't bullshit me Axel." Joel said calmly.

Axel's mind went back to his conversation with Ruby and began to recall once again what he had said to her. The only thing that he thought could be misconstrued was his comment about her body... and the Daddy thing. Could that have been it? He stopped and looked at Joel a moment, before saying, "Listen. I sat and let her vent. She needed to talk to someone and she talked to me. Most girls her age have little more than an apartment and a job to hold down. She has multi-million dollar contracts, acting gigs, management teams and us to deal with. She got overwhelmed. That's all."

Joel studied him suspiciously before saying, "You know the rules you set within our own organization. We can't get involved with our clients. If you get involved, you have to recuse yourself from the assignment."

"I am not involved with Just Ruby. We don't have a relationship. I was there as a friend and someone to talk to... that's it." Axel said in a mildly defensive manner, "Now let's get out of here."

Joel, finally seeming satisfied with his answer, though something about him calling her 'Just Ruby' seemed odd to him, led him out to the company car and drove him back to his house.

Axel cleaned up, showered, changed out his bandages once more and then got dressed up in a new suit once again. He was having a hard time NOT thinking about Ruby... no... JUST Ruby. Seeing her naked and kneeling at his feet, a collar on her neck, serving her Daddy till she drank all his cum. It was a thought he was struggling to shove aside. Perhaps Joel was right in all this when it comes to keeping oneself separated from your client. How can a security officer remain objective in the defense of his client if they are involved?

She had called him her Axel and her Papa Bear. Somehow that did excite him to think about it, but she was his boss and that created a massive conflict of interest. So what exactly should he do about it? She needed to cultivate some new friends for sure, some that don't care about her status or wealth in the city. He wasn't even in her league when it came to status. He was hired help for sure. Yeah, he could protect her and let her talk to him, but that had to be the end of it. Anything more would force him to have to recuse himself or otherwise withdraw the contract.

Unfortunately, as much as that made sense to him, he found himself eager to put himself in her presence once more to see how she was doing. He headed to the front door, collected his keys and headed towards downtown and his job...

The next morning Ruby bounced out of bed early, skipped her way to the shower remembering to stay in her PJs until she was in the bathroom with the door closed, loudly sang her way through a hot and satisfying shower, emerged shrouded in towels, and turned off the bedroom camera before prancing around her room naked and dancing.

She was deliriously happy and didn't know why. Well, perhaps it was because Axel would be back. Out of hospital. No longer exhausted, she remembered to be properly dressed before her camera automatically came back on; and feeling comfortable in white leggings and a white cotton sweater, made herself a light breakfast of grapefruit and coffee. And waited for her delivery.

She'd ordered it online the night before. She so hoped it would be acceptable.

Ruby checked the clock. He could arrive any minute.

The doorbell rang.

Opening up and expecting Axel, Ruby's face fell from happy expectation to frustrated disappointment. It was the delivery.

"Thanks," she said, politely, trying to undo her rudeness, "sorry, it's just that I thought, was expecting," -she blushed- "anyway, thanks."

Closing the door Ruby put the small box on her breakfast bar. She now wasn't so sure she'd done the right thing. What if she'd misunderstood Axel the day before? After all, he'd been on medication, in pain, injured. He'd been putting her back together, mending her, doing his job of protecting her mentally as well as physically. What if he'd just said what she needed to hear to get her over her little crisis, her panic?

She suddenly felt sick. What if he didn't mean any of what he said? What if she was being a stupid teenager with a misdirected crush? Ruby was overwhelmed by shame and embarrassment and humiliation. How stupid could a girl get? Obviously, he didn't mean what she thought. Oh, he wouldn't have lied, just not said what she thought he did. She almost threw up but managed to choke it back down. Tears of anger
stung her eyes, anger at herself. She threw the box into the nearest bin. Unopened. Thank goodness Axel never saw it.

She'd be just business-like with him today. No emotional greeting, no happy bouncy welcome back. Suddenly she hated him again, hated him for letting her glimpse happiness instead of loneliness, a future of smiles and fun instead of isolation and the flattery of sycophants, the possibility of gifts exchanged out of affection instead of being manipulated for what people could get out of her. Except she didn't really hate him because it was her own stupid fault. She hated herself, hated her gilded cage, hated the loneliness of success.

By the time her protectors came to take her to the studio for more work on the next film, she was cold, aloof, polite and professional but distant, trying so hard to protect herself while inside she felt like she was dying from grief at a future denied, an impossible future that only an idiot would have believed in.

She would throw herself into work as a distraction.

Her heart was broken.

By the time Axel had arrived from his home, he had already learned that Ruby was at the studio where she would be rehearsing. It didn't surprise him though. So rather than going into her house, he went back to the security office where Jeanette was sitting. She smiled up at him saying, "Hey there! Welcome back!"

"I was only out three days. I have gotten paper cuts worse this thing." He said tapping his arm and trying to hide the wince.

"Uh... huh." Jeanette said clearly not buying it. She said, "Well, anyways, welcome back. You are just in time. Looks like her camera in her bedroom didn't come back on after the timer. Can you go up and check and reset it?"

"Yeah. No problem." He replied as he set his things down, then pulled out his tablet that held the restricted files on it. He headed out of the office and upstairs. The guard on post was named Nikki and was a Sicilian kid who did a tour in the Corp before opting for going where the pay is better. Good kid. He saw Axel walking up and snapped to attention.

Axel smiled saying, "You aren't in the service anymore. We don't require you to report from attention. However, that being said, what is your report?"

"Miss Sommers and Kiana left with Guard Sheffer and Guard Higgins at 0930 hours. The schedule states they are going to be returning at 1930 hours, though I wouldn't bank on it." He said with a smirk.

"Oh? Why is that?" Axel said as he pulled his access badge out to swipe on the door.

"Miss Sommers was kind of on a rampage today. Seemed mad at the entire world for some reason. Even Miss Scott wasn't sure what was going on." Nikki said as he opened the door for Axel to go in.

"Really?" Axel said calmly hiding his curiosity. He had thought she had been happy as a lark when she left... and now she was pissed again? She was with Kiana so perhaps she had said something to make her mad again? He would have to speak with Kiana about this. It was obvious he had stepped on her toes yesterday at the hospital and needed to make that right.

He stepped into her condo and closed the door behind him. He put his earpiece in and said, "Jeanette, you hear me?"

"I do boss." She said calmly.

"Do a function check on all the other cameras while you are at it. I am going to check the bedroom camera now." Axel said as he started to move. Then he spotted something strange in her trash. He walked over to it and noticed a partially opened box that hadn't been there before and he reached into the trash and pulled it out and looked inside. A small pink little teddy bear sat inside it with a card on it. He pulled the card out and smiled as it read, "Welcome back Papa Bear, from your baby girl".

He pulled the bear out of the box and looked at it. He heard Jeanette say, "That's cute little bear. What's the card say?"

Axel palmed the card saying, "Just a welcome home for me." He set the bear on the counter though he kept the card. It was cute! However, it also made things a little more confusing for him. Apparently, she had been in a good mood long enough to buy a welcome home gift like this but left this morning pissed off?

He slid the card into his pocket and headed towards the bedroom. Housekeeping hadn't arrived yet so there was a towel tossed on the ground and her dirty clothes from the night before. He walked over to the camera and checked it. It was running, just the light off, which meant all the footage would be on his tablet. He said, "Rebooting the camera."

While the camera rebooted, he turned on his tablet and leaned against the wall out of the view of the camera and began looking at the footage in the bedroom. He smiled as he had a beautiful shot of her young body dancing about. She seemed so happy as she got dressed. Then the package arrived and everything seemed to change.

Axel had to admit he didn't understand how she could flip from one extreme to the other. Perhaps she needed some medication to help manage her emotions better though he was not an expert and didn't know. He did have a suspicion though. He reached into his inside breast coat pocket and pulled out a small flip phone.

It was a burner phone that he kept because ... well, you never know when you may need one. He opened it and added his contact information to his main phone on it. He set it to speed dial 1. He took the card from his pocket, turned it over and then wrote, "Thank you for the bear and the card baby girl. Papa Bear is always here for you. Speed Dial 1". He then tucked the card and the phone under her pillow for her to find later. He had NO idea if this was a good idea or not, but something told him she needed to be able to reach him when she needed him. He hoped it would help with her fluctuating moods at least.

Axel glanced up at the camera and saw that the camera was finishing the reboot and then tapped his comm saying, "How does it look Jeanette?"

"Looks good boss. Thanks!" She said.

"Good. I am going to come back now. Got some boss stuff to do now." He said with a smile and headed for the door. He stopped a moment looking at the bear sitting on the box. He hesitated only a moment, then picked it up bear once more and took it with him out of the condo and back to the office downstairs.

The next 5 hours he would spend filling out payroll, signing checks, reviewing schedules and all the other important things bosses do.

The production meeting went on for hours and she remembered none of it.

A rage was burning inside her that she didn't understand. The whole day she kept thinking about Axel and his betrayal of her. He'd abandoned her, walked out on their agreement, tossed her aside. Except he hadn't. He'd done no such thing and she knew it. He'd been in hospital, for goodness sake. Because of her. It was all her fault.

Around and around went her thoughts, the guilt returning and the humiliating shame of getting his intentions so wrong. And the prospect of a dead future in which she could trust no one to be honest with her or to like her for who she was.

Thankfully, she'd been completely professional and no one would possibly know how upset she was. The security team would all assume nothing was wrong and no one would have the slightest clue about her temporary and short-lived crush. It was so embarrassing. However would she cope if she had let on?

She felt like she wanted to punch something, and her thoughts turned to the martial arts training she'd been given before the first Diamond film. Except it wasn't really martial arts, just a few moves she'd practiced to perform on camera in a scripted and choreographed fight sequence that was more like a dance than any type of combat. But there had been a punchbag. That's what she needed. In her apartment. A punchbag. She'd call it Axel, and thump and kick the living daylights out of it. That should work.

Every time she was asked for her opinion she gave a non-committal answer that fooled everyone into thinking that she was paying attention, while inside she seethed with self-reproach.

She ate by herself during breaks, chatted to no one. Not that it mattered because no one ever listened to her. By the time she was being driven back home she was in a worse state than ever but thankfully she hid it pretty well.

Once in her apartment she turned off every camera and assumed the sound would be off too, if they had sound. She couldn't remember. Once convinced that every blinking light was extinguished she screamed and screamed and screamed until her throat was sore.

That was when she noticed the box. The empty box.

She felt the blood drain from her face, and she collapsed in a heap on the floor. The only thing she'd had left was the knowledge that her stupid misreading of everything was at least unknown to every one.

Not any more.

Someone had found the box, the bear. She groaned. Her humiliation was complete. The security team must have been laughing at her all day, telling each other jokes about their stupid infatuated client, pretending to show her respect but knowing she didn't deserve any.

The bottom fell out of her world.

Dragging herself up she crawled to her bedroom and flung herself fully dressed on the made bed, not even pulling back the cover. She felt dazed, drained.

Which was when she got her second shock. From under her pillow. A phone, her card. Had Axel found her card and was returning it unwanted? Her heart hammered as she turned the card over to read his message.

Thank you for the bear and the card baby girl. Papa Bear is always here for you. Speed Dial 1

And she burst into tears.

"What do you mean she talked to you?! What did she talk to you about in that hospital room?!?" Mrs Brotherton snapped as she and Kiana stood in Axel's office furious with the day's happenings.

"Like I told you, she needed to talk to someone, just talk. You two don't talk to her. You talk over her and she thinks you think she is a child." Axel said standing there with Joel to one side.

"She IS a child in case you haven't forgotten!" Kiana said angrily, "She had temper tantrums and pitches her little fits when she isn't brooding like she does!"

"And you think I had something to do with that?" Axel said feeling mild shock and then added, "As I recall, I talked her off the ledge of quitting, not you Kiana. She was happy when she left the hospital and ready to go forward. Something happened here while I was still at the hospital to make her act the way you say she acted today."

"Your guard up there told me she spent nearly 20 minutes in her condo screaming. Just screaming. For NO reason!" Mrs Brotherton said and then pointed a finger to him saying, "This is your fault somehow. She was fine before we hired you!"

"Not the way I see it. She is a mess. She is lost and confused and alone. You have her hidden away from the world and she needs to have friends and parties and dates and what not. No 19 year old should have to be thinking about what clothing line she wants to represent or what perfume will stamp her name on it." Axel snapped back and then said, "And I will remind you AGAIN... I am the one who calmed her down after you all caused her to blow up in that room. She nearly got killed a few days ago. Have either of you even asked her how she is? Do either of you give two shits about her?"

Kiana and Amanda glanced at each other and both flushed. Truth was, the attack was something they had utilized in the press to build her name and her staying with Axel at the hospital was spun up at her generousness towards her staff and help. But neither of them had offered to call her family or friends. Kiana was the first to recover saying, "That is not the point!"

"That is EXACTLY my point! To you two she is a paycheck. Do you even know if she has any friends at all?" Axel pressed harder.

Amanda said, "Listen. We are going in circles here. We have tried to go up and talk to her 3 times now and she screamed at us to get out. She won't see anyone. You need to go up there and talk with her. Talk her down again."

Axel's phone buzzed. He pulled it out and glanced at the text on it. it was from the burner and it had two messages on it. The first was 'Daddy'. The second that came in a few seconds later was 'Papa Bear'. She had found the phone.

He tucked his phone back away and said to Kiana and Amanda, "You two. Go home. I am going to go talk to her again and see if I can calm her down. I will let you know how it goes."

"Fix this Axel. Fix it or you and your team might be finding a new client." Amanda said calmly before she grabbed her things and headed out the door. Kiana was in tow.

Axel looked to Joel and said, "That went well."

"Not bad for a week on the job." he said with a smirk.

Jeanette said, "All the cameras in her entire condo were turned off."

Axel said, "Her choice. She doesn't have to have them on at all. I am going to go up and talk to her again and see if I can figure out what in the hell is going on with her."

Joel nodded saying, "Sounds like our jobs might be riding on this."

Axel nodded and turned and left the office.

As he reached Ruby's front door, he looked at the guard and said, "You hear anything?"

"She screamed for a long time before going silent. No one has told me to go in so I didn't. No one has gone out though." Nicky said.

"Okay." He swiped his card, then knocked on the door saying, "It's Axel. I am coming in."

He slowly opened the door and slipped in quietly and looked around. He locked the doors behind him saying, "Just Ruby? Are you here?"

"Hey, Papa Bear, babygirl's in the kitchen," Ruby sang out cheerfully. She was indeed in the kitchen making herself a cup of tea. "You want one?" she asked hospitably, already taking down a second cup and another tea bag.

"How was your first day back on the job? Is your arm okay? I hope they haven't left everything for you to do, you should be resting to heal up. But honestly, you wouldn't believe how boring the production meeting was today. I kind of tuned out for a moment or two, but you should know that your people, Jeanette and Joel, they were really great. So kind and helpful and I totally trust them. I mean, they're not you, but then who is? There's only one Papa Bear. But your team is totally the best and I wouldn't want anyone else. I'm so glad you got the gig.

"Oh, and I, er, turned off the cameras earlier, I think I turned them off permanently, just wanted a bit of space, though Kiana and Mrs.Brotherton came to see if I needed anything but I told them I didn't." Ruby paused for a moment trying to remember exactly how that had gone. She recalled that she'd still been upset at that point but was fairly sure that she'd been polite. Firm, but polite, that was how she remembered it.

Ruby brought the tea over to where Axel was standing and put the cups down on the counter. "There, Daddy's tea." With her hands now free she draped them around Axel's waist and rested her cheek on his strong chest, sighing in release.

"You came. I texted and you came. You're here for me. I was so scared. I've spent the day frightened that I'd got it wrong, that I'd misunderstood you. Babygirl needs her Papa Bear, but I won't be a burden, I promise. Just a cup of tea now and then, a hug, I can survive on that. I've been so alone today, so dreadfully alone. Is it possible to be utterly alone in a crowd of people? That's how it felt. And I think I might just, maybe, perhaps, have not behaved very well. Babygirl probably deserves a little punishment for not behaving, for not trusting that she heard Daddy right.

"I was fine until the gift arrived and then I panicked because it wasn't you at the door and I thought I'd messed everything up and heard what I wanted to hear instead of what you really meant and that you'd hate the silly pink babygirl bear and hate me for being clingy but after that bear and balloon your people gave you in the hospital I just thought you might find it funny and cute but then I had second thoughts and the more I thought the more I panicked and the more scared I got so I threw it away but you still found it and liked it and wrote me that note which I'll never get rid of and then the phone too and you came for me. You came. Papa Bear."

Ruby was calm, arms wrapped loosely around Axel, no drama, just a release of pent-up tension, face pressed to his warm body, silent tears running down her cheeks. She felt safe.

Axel was at a loss for words. He had expected her to be screaming and yelling, throwing things and stamping around. At the very least, he had expected a silent sullen woman pouting like he had first seen in her. Instead, he found happy and chipper young woman making him... tea?

He wrapped his arms around her and held her for a few moments as she pressed into his chest. He was completely dumbstruck for a moment. This was exactly the opposite of what he expected. The need for a therapist seemed to be growing increasingly more needful as erratic as she was getting with him and all the others.

Finally he said, "Just... Ruby... Ruby, listen... I did come for you and ... hang on one minute please." He gingerly removed her arms from his waist, then squatted slightly to put his hands on her hips. He did a dead lifted her straight up into the air and sat her down on the counter about 4.5 feet off the floor. He felt a string on his arm where the stitches were but ignored it. This was more important than that at the moment. Once she was safely on the counter, he looked up at her as she was actually a bit taller than him in this position. He put his hands on either side of her legs to block her from shifting around. They ended up resting on each of her wrists so she wouldn't fidget or wiggle about.

He took a long minute to put his thoughts together before he began to speak again. He said, "Today was a unmitigated disaster from what my team and Mrs. Brotherton told me. I was told you were screaming up here. You lashed out at everyone today. Other times you said nothing as if you were angry at the entire world. You pissed off not only Kiana and Amanda, but your producers, the writers and staff at the studio, and my team. I just spent the last 45 minutes getting my ass reamed by both Kiana and Amanda because of how you behaved today. I am not much of a happy camper at the moment because of it. I understand that doubts crept in and it caused you to have these problems, but it feels over the top."

Axel watched her reaction as it seemed to take a lot of steam from her sails. He looked up at her and said, "Papa Bear is not very happy with his baby girl right now, because your actions today have put the target squarely on me now to fix it or lose my job."

He saw her eyes widen and he said, "You didn't hire me directly, that was your agency. You can only make a recommendation. They can hire and fire anyone they want for any reason they want. Since I have come into your orbit, they have told me that you have been more erratic and upset, moving from raging to sullen moody to happy. The management team thinks that is because of me. They are starting to think if I am out of the picture, you will return to just being a brooding little girl again. Oh... and no, just in case you are thinking it, you can't fire your management agency as they have a 5 year contract with a no compete clause for 10 attached. Firing them means you fire my team too. Meaning you break your deal with them, you are not going to be able to act again for 10 years with anyone. Basically, that means your acting career is done at that point. This is how severe your actions had become."

Axel pulled back from her a moment and then pulled out a handkerchief and dried tears from her eyes. He said, "Personally, I like you a lot. I really do. I believe in you. I believe you are beautiful and innocent and..." He let his eyes wander down her body at eye level a moment and then said, "You have a killer body, but I also believe you are in over your head here. You are drowning in everything they are shoveling at you. So bigger part of this is NOT your fault." He took her hands into his and looked up at her and said, "Look at me." He waited till she complied. Axel saw the hurt in her eyes and he said, "Hear me again. Part of this is NOT your fault. You have to deal with a LOT right now. But the part you can control, such as how to react to it all... IS your fault. It is going to destroy your career and your life. This is how people like Marilyn Monroe and Heath Ledger went out... I will NOT let that happen to you. I swear on my life I won't. But in order for me to keep my promise to you, you have to help me out here. You have to still the storms around you as only you can. I am not saying pretending or lying or faking to others to make them think they are when they are not. You have to believe in yourself all is well."

He stepped up to her, knuckled her chin slightly to make her look at him. He spoke with a firm but acceptable tone, "I need to know what it is you want with your life, with your dreams, with me, with everything. I need to know so I can protect babygirl like a Papabear should be able to do? What can I do to still that storm in your head and heart? Talk to me... please." He kept himself close to her still sitting on the counter giving her no place to run and hide.

Ruby let out a deep sigh full of sadness and slumped. It had felt so nice having Papa Bear hold her hands, her chin, her hips, the way he'd hoisted her up onto the counter as if she were feather-light. She knew he was right, but the truth felt so brutal.

"I heard from my family today. A text message.The first since before the balcony incident. I know that's been all over the news, except the stories focus on someone trying to kill me instead of the real story of hero bodyguard saves useless selfish bratty kid. But the message just wanted to know if I'm going to get more money for the second Diamond film because of the publicity. And dropping hints that the house is a bit cramped and the newest model of their car has all kinds of improvements. Nothing about am I okay, was I hurt. Nothing. No one cares, no one likes me, I'm all alone. Just a paycheck. I don't mean to sound like it's self-pity, but you were brutally honest so I guess I can be, too.

"I guess what you described is the cliche cry for help. I did try just being nice at first, compliant, cooperative, friendly, respectful, but all I got back was tolerance and then being treated like a kid. Ordered about and humoured. I'm lost in the adult world. I suppose I just got moody as loneliness crept in.

"Then you arrived, making everything even more complicated and taking away the only thing that was still mine. Privacy. I hated you. Can you believe that? You saw me naked and took even that from me. I thought you were like the final nail in the coffin of my independence. But you aren't like that. You're the only person in the whole world who cares about me. I now quite like that you saw me nude. You've seen all of me, inside and out, but you still like me.

"I don't know what to do. I tried the babygirl bear as a kind of bridge, apology, peace offering, testing of the waters. I thought the phone and your note was a lifeline back from the brink. I got it wrong.

"You're kind, professional, caring, trustworthy, and I know you'll protect me. But I half thought, no, actually believed that, well, that you liked me. I'm sorry. I didn't want to embarrass you. Thank goodness the cameras are off. You'll laugh, but I had an image in my head of taking all my clothes off and Papa Bear spanking babygirl's bare bottom. Yeah, I know, how weird is that? But that's what you're dealing with.

"But don't you see? Tantrums are all I have left. Tantrums and shock. I have nothing, I have no one. Except you. And I don't really have you either. But I promise I won't kill myself on your watch."

A single tear slid down her cheek.

Axel stood and listened to her. He felt for her in a way he hadn't felt for anyone in a long time. Sure, everyone had their own sob stories and to them, that is the worst thing ever, but to have parents who only reach out to her because they want stuff, versus actually checking up on her... well, that was just terrible in his book.

He had known he was a factor in this and it seemed to have started when he had seen her naked. He knew that accidental event had screwed with her brain. He expected she would have demanded him and his team be fired because he had seen something no one should have seen without her permission.

When she fell silent on that ominous insinuation, his eyes locked back on hers fiercely. He gently reached up with his thumb and wiped away that tear. How to address this? She needed a LOT of help obviously. She was young, naive, and extremely vulnerable right now. He had a feeling she would literally do anything he asked her too, including stripping and fucking him. There was a quiver in his cock at the thought of that kind of power. It made the Master in him howl with need.

He then stamped it down. He had to. He was a professional and she was his client. He said, "I want to show you something."

He pulled his phone out and pulled up the pictures. He flipped to the one he wanted and turned it to her. He said, "This is your teddy bear, next to the teddy bear from the hospital. It is sitting on the corner of my desktop. I do treasure your gift and I am very grateful that you were considerate enough to think about buying it for me. Clients rarely are considerate enough to do something like that for bodyguards like me. It tells me that despite your outer image you struggle to maintain, you are a sweet, kind, and thoughtful." He tucked his phone back in his pocket and took her hands once more in his.

He let his thumbs stroke her hands gently as he thought about how to proceed next. He finally said, "You are not a child anymore. You are not a little girl. You are a grown woman capable of making her own decisions. With the desire to be spanked for example, that is something adults sometimes fantasize about. It's not perverted or sick. It's part of their sexual maturity." He had more he wanted to say, but stopped there. She was way too sensitive and fragile at the moment.

He added, "As I told you, you have a LOT on your plate. You also have no one to share the load with and with your parents being out of the picture, it's amazing you have made it this far. But, I need you to hear this and know it for true. Look at me."

When their eyes locked, he said, "You are NOT alone now. Papa Bear is here to take care of you. I promise you. You can talk to me about anything you want. Your wants and needs, your fears, your fantasies. Even your thoughts about being spanked and what not. Nothing is off-limits with me when it comes to this." He move a hand to the back of her head and gently leaned her towards him and he kissed her forehead saying, "I have your back baby girl. I want you to know you can depend on me not just to do my job protecting you, but to be your confidant." He gave her forehead another soft kiss and then said, "But something tells me you haven't told me everything you want to say to me."

He put his forehead on hers in a fatherly kind of way and met her eyes, wiping away another tear that fell to the side. He said, "You have my complete and undivided attention." He backed his forehead away and gave her the space to think and speak. He kept her positioned on that bar so she couldn't get away. He would hammer everything out of her one way or another.

It was Ruby's turn to go quiet. Papa Bear had given her quite a lot to think about, and what she had wanted to say was now somehow pushed aside, or at least, sharing space with other thoughts.

She had been pretty sure that he would scoff or laugh at her idiotic idea of being spanked, of undressing to be spanked, and had thrown it out there because she was simply letting things out without thought. But his response had been far from dismissive. Worse, she had felt a quickening deep in her tummy when he said it was a sign of sexual maturity. Not that she'd thought of it as sexual. But maybe it was. And he'd mentioned it twice, so it must be okay. Her self-comforting was probably sexual, too, even though it had only involved her. The new and strange thoughts made her want to press her legs together. She put her small hands in his giant paws, partly because she wanted his touch, and partly so that she couldn't touch herself. She felt such a strong desire to jump down and strip naked that given the slightest encouragement, she'd be bent over the counter in no time. Thank goodness he had no idea. That would be admitting too much, even for Papa Bear. This wasn't what she had intended to tell him, even if he did say that nothing was off-limits. Maybe she could text him? It might be easier than actually speaking.

Ruby shook her head to try and clear the unintended thoughts and get back to what she had originally wanted to say.

"I'm glad you like the bear. I hope you'll think of me every time you see it? And I don't know what image I'm trying to maintain. I just want to be me, Ruby, Just Ruby. And I do get that I'm responsible for how I react to things, and I'm very sorry I wasn't very nice to your team. They don't deserve that. I'd like to apologise to Joel and Jeanette if you'll let me; apologise in person. And to any other members of your team who are here. And do it tonight.

"But did you know that no one from the Studio has asked me how I am since I was almost murdered? I worked out that I've kind of been deflecting my fears so that I can convince myself it was you I was scared for, since you actually got hurt. But in truth, I'm frightened. Some tried to kill me, to murder me, and it was only a few days ago. I'm not used to real violence. I'm not a soldier, haven't been trained to deal with death, don't know how to handle almost being killed, being hated that much. Yes, I had a screaming fit. It was kind of a way to process being frightened and guilty and worried and emotionally hurt. I can't think of a greater rejection than someone wanting you dead. I screamed to let things out, here in my own home, on my own, not wanting to bother or burden anyone else. And yes, maybe it was stupid but it just happened, just came out. But has anyone from the studio asked how I'm holding up after the attempted murder? Has anyone offered any kind of victim support?

"I'm almost murdered, only alive because you're so good at what you do, but I'm supposed to just carry on, act normal like nothing happened, and show no signs of being upset. On the other hand, it's fine for the Studio people to be upset with me just because I behaved badly. I'm not excusing myself, but you do see the double standards, right? Not one of them has asked me how I'm coping. Not one. They just talk about the great free publicity and how to time announcing the new film to make as much money from the attack as they can.

"Like I said, I'm not looking for pity, not excusing myself, and I'm sorry I almost cost you your job, all of your jobs. I never meant to hurt anyone, don't want to hurt anyone, and will apologise and try to behave better. But you said you wanted to help and needed to know what was going on in my head. I wanted you to understand as best I can explain why I'm a horrible bratty bitch and why I was so awful today. I'm a bit lost and confused and sad and scared and frightened of attack and of losing you. I'll do anything you say if it will make everything better, but mostly I want you to hug me a lot and let me talk to you and keep your promise that nothing is off limits, though you might regret that if I try to explore my sexual maturity!" The last bit was meant as a joke to break the tension, but also to see if Papa Bear was serious. It would only take the slightest confirmation and she would be texting tonight with more confessions. If she was brave enough.

One thing was for sure. She felt a lot better.

Axel smiled as she talked and worked through her issues. She was getting it out on the table and that was good! A very good thing! He made several mental notes along the way to pass on to Kiana when he got a chance to talk to her again. He looked at her and said, "You say you will do anything I say right if it makes you feel better? Don't say that unless you are planning on sealing it with the holiest of holy promises one human being could make to another unbreakable on the penance of agonizing pain and death."

He smirked as she stared up at him with a bit of shock. He held out his pinkie and said, "The sacred pinkie swear." It did him good to see the smile and then gave him his pinkie swear. He held her finger for a little bit and said, "I hold you to your word and you hold me to mine. So... " He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a pen and notepad. He scribbled an email address onto a piece of paper and tore it off, handing it to her saying, "This is one of my email addresses. When you need to vent about anything and I mean ANYTHING... pull your laptop out, write it down and email it to me. My promise to you is this, I will not read it unless you specifically ask me to. It will go into a secured private folder accessible only by me. Think of it like a diary if you want. Anything that goes on in your head, write it down and send it to me. Papabear will keep your secrets safe with me."

He then wrote down a name and number on another piece of paper, Doctor Emily Stryder, 1-555-555-7765. He said, "With this attempted murder you where a victim of and seeing me hurt protecting you, you are still traumatized from it all. I would like you to start seeking professional therapy. This is my personal therapist and in my opinion one of the best in the business to talk to. Please schedule a meeting with her tomorrow. I will let her know you will be calling. Meet with her and see if you like her. She can come here to talk to you professionally if you wish as your private therapist too. She is exceptional at helping people process through their trauma. I will vouch for her on this with everything I have been through. She helped me get through some... really bad stuff in the past and so I know she can do good for you too. Promise me you will call?" He waited till she nodded.

Axel said, "I checked your schedule for tomorrow. It seems that you have not much planned out. The Police have scheduled you a meeting at 3PM tomorrow about your case. The DA is going to want to talk with you too about this. I AM going to be here with you during the entire thing. You are NOT in trouble at all, but they are going to ask you some questions now that the dust has settled. I need you to prepare for that mentally tonight and tomorrow okay?"

He jot that appt down on a third piece of paper and then added a fourth. He said, "At 0900 tomorrow, I am going to have the entire security detail who was involved in today's incidents, Jeanette and Joel as well come up to meet with you on your request. You can tell them what you wish to tell them at that time okay babygirl?" He tore off the third piece of paper with the two appointments and handed them to her.

He took her two hands as she set the three pieces of paper down into his and rubbed them gently looking up to her. He waited a minute as they looked at each other and he stepped to her and hugged her tightly. He patted her back saying, "You are a strong woman. I mean what I said, I am here for you and you are not alone." He held her in silence just holding her as she sat on the counter. He wanted to do so much more to her... with her... but he wouldn't. He said, "I have one favor to ask of you now. I am NOT telling you what to do, I am asking for a favor."

Axel slid his hands to her waist and lifted her off the counter and put her on her feet on the ground. He said, "I know you get frustrated with Kiana and Amanda, but please don't take it out on them. The favor I need to ask of you is this as Papa Bear to baby girl... Be a good girl for your Papa Bear. Show me you can be a good girl for me when things get frustrating with your work or with the others. Will you do this for me?" He held up his hand and offered his pinkie once more for a second promise.

Ruby sealed the pinkie promise in a solemn bond. They were now bound forever as closely as it was possible to be. Papa Bear and his babygirl. Despite the solemnity, Ruby smiled and even giggled. That's how Daddy made her feel. Lighthearted. It felt good. It made her feel as if she was special to him, like his number one girl.

"I promise to do them all, the being Daddy's good girl, the apology, the therapy. After all, if Papa Bear can do therapy then so can babygirl. I know you'll have had a lot more to deal with than I ever will."

Ruby picked up the little notes and wondered if she already had a suitable box to put them in, something for Papa Bear's notes only, no one else's. She could even put some red lippy on and plant a kiss on the back of each. That might be nice. She smiled and tucked the gathered notes inside her bra.

"I have a favour to ask too. Would you be terribly upset if I ask you to read the special email address every day? Maybe set a notification so you'll know when I send something? I'd kind of like to know that you're reading it? And you can send a thumbs up or down, just that, so I know if what I wrote is ok? Is that too much? I know you're busy."

Ruby started on fresh cups of tea and enjoyed just being with Papa Bear. He'd made everything better with the world. He was there for her. Had her back. Gave her hugs, held her hand, even kissed her! And wrote her notes. And with pinkie promises as well they were as good as an item.

Once he'd gone, she tipped stuff out of her treasures box and put all his notes inside, all marked with a red lippy kiss. She was happy for the first time she could remember. And her mind drifted to what she should text him tonight and what she should email.

Decisions, decisions.

As Papa Bear got ready to leave, he looked back a smiling babygirl and once more for good measure, provided her another pinkie swear. He said, "I promise you. I will read your journal each night then if that is your wish." He saw her nod and he said, "But a favor for favor before I go." He held her pinkie swear and said, "Those... urges you have, like the spanking and ... anything other urges you have, before you do anything about them, consult me first. I want to know. Will you swear on this pinkie promise with me on it?"

He watched her nod and he said, "Good girl." He gave her one more big hug and said, "Now, you have ever right to leave your cameras off inside your condo, but Papa Bear would appreciate you turning them back on so I can keep a direct eye on you. You would like Papa Bear to be able to watch you right? Just what you want Papa Bear to see though and remember others are watching too. " Seeing her blush, he leaned in and kissed her forehead once more and said, "Good girl. Good night baby girl. Thank you for the tea. I tend to be an Earl Grey kind of tea drinker in the future, but I like most flavors."

He turned and left the condo. By the time he made it back down to Jeanette, all the cameras were back on. Jeanette said, "Looks like whatever you said to her worked."

"Well, she just needs a friend to talk to." Axel said as he glanced at the cameras and saw her shoving his notes into a box. Was that lipstick she had put on them? He said, "I am heading to the office."

~~~ 2 hours later ~~~
"Thank you for talking with her. You say she is better now?" Mrs Brotherton said nervously, "Why were her cameras off again?"
"Listen. That girl is alone up there. She is surrounded by people who see her as a paycheck. That has to change. Do you know anyone who might be her age that she can be friends with?" Axel asked.
"Actually, Caleb Jennings might be able to help." She said.
"Who?" Axel asked.
"Dominic Trenton's agent. He had just reached out to me asking if she was available for dinner tomorrow night to kind of rekindle the friendship of sorts." She said, "I will reach out to Caleb and have dinner reservations made at the Olivetta." She said.
"Good. That would help her a lot. She has asked me to be kept in the loop about this and her therapy session tomorrow. Doctor Stryder already told me she called and set the appointment for tomorrow at noon so keep her calendar free." Axel said.
"You know, I am the one that is supposed to be managing her schedule, not you." She said with a smirk.
"You asked me for help. She has attached to me and is telling me what she needs and wants. We are security first, but if I can help her out mentally, I am going to." Axel said as he felt his phone buzz. He glanced at the phone a moment and saw baby girl's special email coming through. He glanced back to Mrs. Brotherton saying, "Okay, if there isn't anything else, I will leave you to what is left of your evening."
They said their farewells and Axel walked back out to his car from her office, sat down in the driver's seat, and opened the email to read what she had sent.
"Earl Grey tea," Ruby muttered as she wrote it on a note and stuck it to the fridge. That wouldn't be difficult to organise. They had arranged for her to receive groceries while she was out if she left a list. Just another lost opportunity to connect with people. But she wasn't to get angry or frustrated. She was going to be a good girl for Papa Bear. a good babygirl. Just thinking those words made her feel a lot better, and made her insides tingle. And made her think of starting her email journal for Papa Bear. Made her want to confess something really shocking. It was probably an urge. And she had pinkie promised Daddy to consult with him every time she got an urge.
Ruby sat cross-legged on her bed, laptop supported on a pillow on her lap, the screen hidden from the camera that was once again blinking its reminder that she was live. She wanted to blow a kiss at the camera but that would be for Axel alone, and she didn't know who from his team was monitoring just then. Instead, she started her email, confident that Papa Bear would read it at some point before the day was finally over.
Urges. Yes, Daddy, I get urges, including needing to start my secret journal for you to read. So here goes. I'm going to confess something to you that will probably make you hate me but you promised nothing is off limits.
That bathroom incident when you scared me out of my towel and saw me naked and I hid in the bathroom, it made me need to comfort myself. I was frightened and naked and alone in there and hugged myself and put my hand between my legs to make me feel better, but I did it over and over, pressing into my front bottom, more and more, hating you seeing me but needing to touch myself until it was fast and building until my insides felt like they would explode. I think it might have been part of my sexual maturity except no one else was there so it obviously wasn't sexual.
I want to touch myself like that again but the cameras have only just gone on. It's an urge, I suppose, so I pinkie promised to talk to you before doing anything. And now you'll hate me for being disgusting and dirty even though you were very nice to me when I said I wanted to be spanked on my bare bottom, and you said that was a sexual maturity thing. Don't think I'm totally stupid, I know what sex is and how to make babies and how not to, and that boys masturbate and like girls to do it for them and even put them in their mouths (yuk!) so I'm not a total simpleton.
And I know I said all kinds of stuff about why I was a naughty babygirl today, but you are right that it's still my choice how I react and I reacted like a bitch, especially with your people, and that was disrespectful to Daddy. So I probably need Daddy to spank my bare bottom to punish naughty babygirl. Would you do that? You said it's ok?
If you are still reading, please let me know if you are so disgusted that all promises are off, with a thumbs down. If you still want to help me would you just tell me I'm still your babygirl?
Ruby sent the email before she could chicken out, then leaned back against her pillows and closed her eyes. Despite what she'd just written, she was confident that Daddy would read to the end, would still want to help her, and would still let her be his babygirl. But what would he say about her wanting to touch herself, about deserving a bare-bottom spanking? She put the laptop aside and kept her hands on top of the pillow that was on her knees. She was not going to touch herself until she heard back. And not with the camera on, either. But it wasn't easy.
As he sat in the car reading her entry, his mind raced with thoughts and meanings. So she had masturbated after the incident where he saw her naked. She masturbated because he had seen her naked. That would explain a great deal.
He flipped the read receipt on the email and then put the phone down and headed to his home.
After he pulled in and headed inside, he took his jacket off, slipped out of his shoes and then headed to his laptop and pulled the email back up and re-read through it once more. He had needed some time to think about how he would respond to her. He didn't want to just follow his gut initially, because he would have done things with her that would surely have gotten him fired.
He cracked his knuckles and his neck once and then began to type.
"Baby girl. Thank you for your first journal entry. It pleases me a great deal to see you writing. I hope as you write this all down, it helps you process what you are thinking and feeling better so you can handle what you experience through the day easier.
What you did in the bathroom as you told me just now is masturbation. You fantasized about being seen naked or more specific being seen naked by Papa Bear, it aroused you and you had an orgasm from the way it sounds to me. Let me assure you, what happened to you is not dirty or unnatural at all. What you experienced is normal. When someone gets aroused, they usually need to orgasm to relieve the tension. It's not something they teach in school though, not really.
I am going to tell you now though, please do not masturbate without asking me if it is okay particularly sense I seem to a part of your self-comforting. I would like a say of when it happens baby girl. No self-comforting again tonight. I know you will obey me because you are a good baby girl for your Papa Bear.
I want you to think about something. If a person loves chocolate cake, when that person does something bad, should I punish them by giving them chocolate cake? Probably not. You are finding the idea of being spanked arousing which I say again, is NORMAL and OKAY. Since you find it arousing though, using a spanking as a punishment for misbehaving like you did today is probably not a good idea. It might get you thinking to intentionally do bad things, just to get spanked. You are making good your actions today with meeting my team tomorrow morning so there is no need for a punishment.
As I told you before though, if you are a very good girl for Papa Bear, I will reward you with a spanking. Before you call it a night tomorrow, I will visit and let you know if I thought you were a good girl for me or not. You will have to earn your spanking baby girl but I know you can do it. Papa Bear is proud of you. You are still MY baby girl! Sleep well."
Axel reread it again once more to be sure, then hit send back. It was not too late he thought so she might read it. He closed his laptop, headed to the bedroom and stripped. He then slipped into a hot shower and let the heat soothe his aching body. He then reached down and grabbed his own cock and slowly began to stroke himself... as he thought about a his naked baby girl who knelt at his feet, holding a cup of tea in the flat of her hand for him as she bobbed back and forth on his cock. It didn't take long for him to spill his seed...
The laptop pinged an email alert and Ruby snapped her eyes open, grabbing the computer and placing it on her cushioned knees.
Yes! Papa Bear had replied. And it wasn't a thumbs down. Ruby read it through twice, the second time more slowly.
Baby girl, thank you, it pleases me. That was what she wanted. It was masturbation about being seen naked by Papa Bear. Okay, so it was sexual. Was that bad? What you experienced is normal. Good. Need to orgasm. Yes, that must be true. Do not masturbate without asking me. Oh poo! I'm part of your self-comforting. Well, duh! No self-comforting again tonight. Was he serious? You are a good baby girl for your Papa Bear. Of course! Being spanked is arousing NORMAL and OKAY. Oh goody! Spanking as a punishment for misbehaving is not a good idea. How can that be right? There's no need for a punishment. But she wanted one! She wanted Daddy to spank her bare bottom! If you are a very good girl for Papa Bear, I will reward you with a spanking. That was more like it. Tomorrow night I will visit. You will have to earn your spanking. Oh my! It was really going to happen! Papa Bear is proud of you. Yay! You are still MY baby girl! She was his special girl, his number one!
She put the laptop aside and closed her eyes again, thinking through what Papa Bear had said. So girls masturbate, too, not just boys. It's normal. And she masturbates. Or did. And orgasmed. which was a need. Daddy said so. It was lovely. Such a nice feeling. Masturbation. Mm. Mmasturbation. She liked that word. She liked masturbation.
Opening her eyes again she reached for the laptop and looked up other words for masturbation. Not that she was getting obsessed with masturbation. Ah, diddle, frig, jill-off, self-fuck. Oh my, that was rude, that last one. Could she say it? Ruby tried it in a whisper. "Self fuck." It felt so very naughty. "Self fuck." She breathed out slowly. "Fuck." Mm, this was nice and giving her tingly feelings. "Fuck. Masturbate. Diddle. Jill-off. Self fuck." She wasn't a virgin, of course, but it had just been sex to get that little problem out of the way before leaving school. It certainly hadn't been making love. Probably it counted as a fuck. Not that she'd used that word. But it was done and not very enjoyable, just messy and sore. Not like masturbation which was a lot of fun.
She sent Papa Bear another email.
I need to masturbate and orgasm RIGHT NOW! Please Papa Bear. YOUR babygirll
She sent it and waited for a reply.
And waited.
Axel stepped out of the shower and dried off. He heard his email chirp and for a time, he ignored it for now. He let his eyes wander down he battle torn body. A dozen tears knife scars crisscrossed his hard rigid body. His memories began to flood back to the day he got all those scars. He had been leading his team on a classified mission into Pakistan to recover a set of terrorists whose identity had been confirmed. The orders had come straight from the White House itself. It had been one of dozens of snatch and grab missions he had been on in the past and for his line of work had been considered normal.
That particular mission had been anything but. He let his fingers reach to the large X shaped scar on his right breast. It had been that what happened for him to get that scar that had brought him closest to death. He wiped the condensation off the steamed up mirror once more and pushed his mind out of the past and back to the present. Sliding into his shirt and briefs, he turned and headed out of the bathroom and walked over to his laptop once more and read her message.
He smirked before simply responding, "Don't disobey Papa Bear. Do not pleasure yourself tonight. Go to bed and get some sleep. You have a very busy day tomorrow. Good night babygirl."
He hit send and then curled into bed and was soon asleep.
~~~ 0845 ~~~

Axel hadn't heard another peep from Ruby either last night or this morning. No texts or emails either. He was not sure if that was a good sign or ominous one. He figured he would find out soon enough. He looked to his team and saw all the officers involved in Ruby's tantrum standing there. Officer Rebekah Higgins, Officer Nikki Romano, Officer Victor Sheffer, Jeanette, and Joel all stood quietly in the hallway.

The big man tugged on his sleeves in a semi nervous gesture. He wanted to believe Ruby would do as he had asked her, but he didn't know. She had been so erractic the last few days. Could she had thrown another fit again? Could she be pouty and pissed? Was she naked and bent over ready to demand a spanking? He simply didn't know at this point. She was just so unpredictable that he wasn't sure what they were about to walk into.

He looked at his team saying, "So our client requested an opportunity to talk to all those involved in the fiasco. She realized she behaved poorly and wants an opportunity to apologize. Given our experiences in the past, this is clearly not something we would normally expect from an Actor or actress. I am going to go on in and check on her for a couple of minutes and then I will call you all in when she is ready. Once she is done, you may return to your day. Rebekah, Nikki, thanks especially to you two coming in from your day off for this. I really appreciate it!"

He nodded to them and said, "Okay, stand by till I call for you."

Axel turned and ran his card through the reader and knocked, "It's Mr. Cadell, Miss Sommers. I am coming in."

He opened the door just wide enough to slide inside and closed it behind him. He was prepared for nearly anything.

Ruby was waiting for Papa Bear feeling ever so pleased with herself.

As soon as she heard him announce himself and come in, she called out, "I'm in the kitchen!"

She picked up the stainless steel tray and held it out in front of her at about waist height, with the cup of tea placed centrally on a blue table napkin. It wasn't quite right but it was the best that she could do until her online shopping arrived later with more Earl Grey tea and a silver tray. She was neatly dressed in a pale blue button-front long-sleeve blouse and clean stretch jeans tucked into black ankle boots.

Unable to hide her grin of delight as Papa Bear came into the room, she scanned his face for a reaction, so hoping that he would be pleased with her, with his number one girl, his babygirl.

As soon as she knew that he was alone, she blurted, "And I didn't masturbate at all last night, not even a little!" hoping to gain her first points towards the promised reward that evening. She was going to be extra specially good, today, though she was also very nervous. The reward Papa Bear had promised her was going to be scary on all kinds of levels. Scary, yes, but hopefully oh so good!

To distract herself before sleep she'd done quite a lot of research online, reading about Axel, his company, world hotspots. She was very lucky to have got him and knew that the studio must be paying a fortune to retain his services. But then they were also making millions and millions from the first Diamond film, so they were probably way ahead financially. She wondered fleetingly if she could get him a bonus, maybe because of the balcony incident and his injury? She'd ask later.

For now, she wanted to make Papa Bear happy, and she had her apology to make to his crew. They deserved to be treated better than she had behaved the day before, and a steaming pot of tea with half a dozen china mugs sat on the counter beside her, ready for when Mr. Cadell brought them in.

Of all the expectations he was anticipating... this one had to be among the best. He felt his guards ease up a bit, particularly after her confession to him about the masturbation. He saw her dressed as professionally as he had ever seen her dress which spoke to her authenticity of her effort. She didn't seem to be just going through the motions as some stars would do, but actually sincere in their effort.

He could smell the aroma of the Earl Grey and he smiled to her saying, "For me?"

Seeing her nod he smiled and picked up the cup and brought it to his nose and took a deep sniff of it. Growing up as a kid, his mother had gotten him onto the taste of Earl Grey. They would sip this kind of tea when she helped him with his homework or they had talks. She offered nearly every other kind of drink in the home except booze and soda.

He tipped it to his lips and tasted that familiar taste, closed his eyes, smiled a moment, memories flooding back of his childhood. He looked down at her and said, "This tastes wonderful. Thank you baby girl."

He set the cup on the tray, then collected the tray and sat it on the counter a moment. He turned to her and without asking permission, stepped in, clamped his hands on her hips and lifted her up to the counter once more, seating her a foot or two from the tea tray. His eyes lifted up to her and said, "You look happy baby girl. I am very pleased with your choice of outfit too."

Axel enjoyed the glow that seemed to radiate of this starlet. He then added, "You got a very busy day today and Kiana just informed me that your first full reading of the script is planned out from 10AM to 7PM. I can only imagine why she decided not to give you the news directly."

He had a feeling it was because how Ruby would have received the news. Judging by the slight wincing on her face, he suspected that might be the case. He then moved on saying, "My team is outside the door. I only told them you wished to speak to them about your actions yesterday and nothing more. I will let them in in just a moment."

Finally, he said, "I have something for you."

Seeing her smile, he pulled out a small blue velvet bag with gold tassels on it and a big R sewn into the front. He said, "Remember what I told you about how spankings wouldn't make a good punishment for you? That I would have to find something else to punish you with if you disobey me? Well..." He opened the bag and pulled out about a dozen note-cards that had been cut in half. There was a blue pen inside as well. Each of the note-cards were blank save 6. He said, "This is an old crown royal bag which is going to be your punishment bag."

Seeing her eyes shift from it back to him, he said, "I have written on six of these cards. See, these six here." He showed her four cards and read them off one at a time. "50 sentences of Papa Bear's Choice. Stand in the corner for 15 minutes. Draw another. Draw two punishments. Free Pass. Finally, Free Pass." He folded each of the cards as he read them in half and dropped them into the bag. He picked up the empty cards and said, "There are 18 more cards left. As the day goes on, you and I are going to feel out punishments on these cards and put them in the bag. When you disappoint me or disobey me, I will require you to draw from the bag and do the corresponding punishment. You will keep this little bag with you at all times. If you draw one of the free pass cards, you do not get punished. Does this make sense?" He handed her the small bag so she could look at it and think about it. He wasn't sure if this was too soon to provide this or not. It felt like a good moment though.

He said, "It is time to bring the team in, Ruby. Are you ready?"

Ruby clutched the little precious bag in her hand like it was her most prized possession. She tried to hide her excitement, using her acting skills to mask the sudden burst of exquisite joy Daddy's present had given her. He had just proved yet again that she really was his top girl, his number one, his best, his babygirl.

Instead, she nodded that she was indeed ready and that Mr. Cadell should bring in his team.

"I'd like to meet them in the sitting room, please. Would you show them in and have them sit down, then I'll bring in the tea. You can take yours with you? I think that might be best, most fitting to your position as Boss?"

Ruby held out her arms almost like a child, in a gesture asking to be lifted back down to the floor. As much as this was fun, they had some more serious business to attend to. Ruby had been rude, and she needed to make amends.

While Mr. Cadell brought in his staff, Ruby put the collection of pretty china mugs, the teapot, the milk and sugar all on the tray and brought it into the room where they were all gathered, seeming to her eyes to be a little uncomfortable with the situation. She hoped to put them at their ease.

"Okay everybody, find a seat somewhere," she said without looking at them, giving them space while she knelt at her coffee table and put the tea tray down. "I hope you all like tea because it's all I've made!" she said lightly, pouring out the first few cups. "You need to shout out if you don't want milk, and maybe pass the sugar bowl around?" she added, giving the sugar with half a dozen teaspoons sticking out of it to Jeanette who seemed to be just within reach.

Ruby then took a cup to each person, though the Boss already had his, and returned to where she had been but standing now, hands together in front of her.

"I asked if I might be allowed to speak to you because I want to apologise for being so horribly rude to you all, mostly yesterday but I dare say before that, too. I apologise, I'm sorry for my bad behaviour. Mr. Cadell has helped me understand that whatever the circumstances it is my choice, my decision how I react to them, and I have reacted, I have chosen badly. So I apologise. There is no excuse for me to behave like a bitch, and as a personal favour I would ask each of you to tell me if I'm doing it again. Just say, you're being a bitch again, and I'll get the message!

"The other thing I want to say is that I was reading last night a bit about what you do and have done, you know, the stuff online, on your Company website. I understand what an outstanding group of people you are, who contribute far more to the world than I'm ever likely to, and I consider myself fortunate to be looked after by the best. You already proved your abilities with that terrible balcony incident, and I hope your professional skills will deter anyone from trying again. They would have to be stupid to try anything against you guys.

"What I'm trying to say, and you can see I'm useless without a script to follow, but what I'm trying to say is that I respect you all, am grateful to have you with me, and hope you'll forgive a silly girl for getting things so very wrong.

"Now drink your tea and let's pretend that everything is now okay. Oh, and Mr. Cadell, if you think it helps, you can tell your team any of the background stuff I told you yesterday if you think it will make it easier for them to do their jobs. Your decision."

Ruby knelt back down and took her own mug of tea and sipped from it, thankful to have done what needed to be done, hoping they all had a sort of do-over, a restart.

She glanced over to Mr. Cadell to try and gauge if she'd got it right, if she'd repaired some of the damage. But a part of her mind was desperate to get that gold-tasseled little blue velvet bag from her back pocket, the one with her initial stitched on it.

Axel chuckled at the last part of what she said and sipped on his tea once more. This wasn't a cheap Earl Grey. This was something imported. He noticed the guards and his managers glancing back and forth with each other and taking their glasses of tea. He noticed Ruby glance towards him and he just nodded approvingly. She had done fantastic!

Joel was the first to speak up and said, "We... are grateful to be able to protect you and we understand that stress happens in all situations and sometimes it can be handled poorly. Your apology, at least speaking for myself, is gratefully accepted."

Jeanette smiled and said, "Same here..."

One at a time, the guards agreed and sipped on their drink and tried to engage in some light conversation about todays events and even a story or two at Axel's behalf. After about 15 minutes though, Axel had put his empty cup down and said, "Alright ya'll... let's roll. Our client has a busy day ahead of her."

When he led the last of his team out, he closed the door a few moments and looked back at her saying, "Nicely done! Nicely done indeed. Now... about your bag. According to your schedule, you have a meeting at noon with the therapist and then at 3 with the police about the attack. I am going to take care of a few things and will see you around 2:30 to help prepare a bit for your meeting. I would like at least half of those cards filled out with something you really don't like to do or think would be a punishment. You will give them to me so I can read them before they go in the bag. If it doesn't meet what my standard would be for a sufficient punishment, I will replace it with something else much worse... like counting grains of rice in your rice jar, or cleaning your bathroom with your toothbrush or something equally unpleasant. Does my baby girl understand?"

As she nodded he smiled and said, "Again, you did fantastic!" His phone started to buzz as he turned to head out the door. He pulled it out and it showed Doctor Linda Evans on the screen. He didn't realize Ruby could see it too as he smiled again and put the phone to his ear as he left her apartment saying, "Hey doc! Yeah. I am kind of surprised you got my number...." He glanced back once to see Ruby looking at him a moment before he waved and slipped into the elevator.

~~~ 1430 hours ~~~
Axel had gotten no reports of any problems between their last meeting and the time he had returned back to her condo. Even the therapist said the session went really well from what she could tell. That was a good thing as well.
He reached the door and knocked before sliding his key card in and saying, "It's Axel. I am coming in..."
"In the kitchen!" she shouted in reply.
Ruby was sat at the kitchen counter colouring in the punishment cards, but she had been crying and a few tears had fallen on the cards so she had to avoid those bits with her pencils.
18 cards left and she had to fill out at least half with new punishments. That meant nine, according to her advanced arithmetic skills acquired through many years of intense schooling.
The worst possible punishment she did first. Papa Bear ignores babygirl. Just the thought of it had made her cry. She had put aside the two cards that Papa Bear had filled out, the 50 sentences and the stand in the corner for 15 minutes, like examples to inspire her, and she glanced at them again while she drew circles and lines and stars around the others that she'd done.
So far she had come up with,
1. Papa Bear ignores babygirl for a whole day
šŸ˜¢
2. Take a new card and double the punishment
3. Empty the kitchen bin today
4. Clean the bathroom today
5. No masturbation for 24 hours
6. No spanking for 24 hours
7. Wear least favourite panties tomorrow
8. No cake for a day
9. No chocolate fora day
Her day had indeed been fairly busy to that point. She had filled out some cards, been to the therapist, grabbed some lunch on the way back, and popped in to the studio to pick up the draft script for the following day's read-through.
The conversation with the Doctor, Emily Stryder, was still on her mind. Ruby knew that she had behaved well because she had cast herself in the audition role of a young professional woman being interviewed and needing to quietly impress all around her, from the driver to the interviewer and anyone in between. But she couldn't get that nagging worry out of her mind. Papa Bear had taken a phone call from the hospital doctor. The pretty one. The one who had been flirting with him, who'd admired his bare bottom.
It could have just been patient follow up, but something in the tone and Papa Bear's look back at Ruby had her worried. No, not worried, that was the wrong word. Jealous. Yes, jealous, that was it. Ruby was jealous. And she knew it. Later she would have to do an online search for how to keep your man when he's straying and looking elsewhere and you're jealous. Very jealous. Exceedingly very jealous.
She hadn't mentioned it to Doc Stryder, but she had told her everything else, including the attack, the apology, the loneliness, the being used by everyone as a cash-cow. Okay, so not quite everything. She hadn't mentioned masturbating, or being seen naked by Papa Bear, or that he was her Papa Bear and she his babygirl. If she still was. She clutched the tasseled blue velvet bag tight in her hand as if it proved he still wanted her as his babygirl, that he hadn't chosen another. She would probably have to tell Doc Stryder some of those things, but it was probably okay not to mention them on a first appointment.
But Papa Bear was here and she needed to be the happy babygirl he was expecting. She dried her eyes carefully, dabbing with a tissue so her eyeliner didn't smudge. She'd tried really hard with her makeup, subtle and discreet but emphasising her eyes with liner and mascara, light pink lippy. Hopefully, he wouldn't notice the makeup but like the effect. Like her still. Hopefully he would still like her.
She put on her brave smile and forced herself to be happy but professional. They were going to a police interview.
Axel walked in and to his mildest surprise, which in and of itself was a surprise, found she had not been waiting next to the door with the tea like she had this morning. Well, best not push too hard too soon. He walked over to the kitchen to find her coloring the various cards and he said, "Looks like you are doing well... however..."
He picked up the cards that she had finished and said, "Now you have created a situation in which you can decide which punishments you want to take. The Red card here, "Papa Bear ignores babygirl... oh... no, this won't due at all. I am sorry." He took the red car and tore it in half and tossed it in the trash. He looked at the others and mouthed the punishments and nodded as he added, these will do though."
He then sat down next to her and said, "The red card. That punishment is not a good one and because you would be punishing Papa Bear too. If I have to ignore you, that means I can't do anything with you at all. That a good Papa bear never ever no matter how bad the baby girl misbehaves, will ever ignore them. Do you understand me?"
Axel smiled as she nodded and he said, "You are distracted. You seem upset here."
In his traditional way now, he slid everything in front of him on the counter off to the side, then spun her to face him. He hooked her hips and lifted her onto the counter directly in front of him as he sat on the stool and looked up at her. Something definitely troubled her as she wiped a tear. He thought he knew exactly what the problem was though and he would handle it right now.
He said, "Ruby... I know you are nervous and apprehensive about things, but I promise you. This meeting with the detectives is just to give you an update on the case. You are NOT in any trouble at all. I promise you." He took her little hands into his big ones as she looked at him. He had no idea he had gotten it wrong. He smiled and said, "I know she is being held and won't be coming out on bond so that is a good thing. You are doing fantastic handling things like you are. It's going to be alright baby girl." He ran one of his hands up and down her forearm caressingly.
"If it helps you at all, so far as I am concerned you are on target for your spanking." He said playfully trying to cheer her up. What was this? Was she hitting a downward spiral again? What happened this time?
He reached to the remaining note cards and said, "I will write a few more here. However, The note cards all need to be the same color so we will have to redo those eight... or seven if you wan them all one of those colors. When you reach into the bag, the point is you have no clue what card you are getting. Now... Let me see."
Axel picked up a pen and set them in that little spot between her legs that was exposed counter and said, "First one, '75 sentences of Papa Bear's choice'. Yes that will work. Now, 'Must pay 10 compliments to the first 10 people you see'. Yes... that works," He looked up at her and said, "How about this one.... 'Dress in the least favorite outfit that you have in your closet for 3 hours'. And this one, 'Essay time' Ooooh... wait till you pull that card. Let's see... 'Absolutely no talking for 3 hours'. Yep... let's see four more left. 'Sweep, vacuum, and mop every floor in condo.' Next, 'Ask Papa bear permission to do anything for 1 hour.' Two more... 'Ask Papa bear for permission to do anything for 2 hours'. Finally... last one. Ahh... 'Crawl next to Papa bear for 1 hour everywhere he goes.'"
Axel restacked the cards and handed them to her saying, "You have to approve these before they go into the bag. It is OKAY to say no to a few, but that is up to you." He looked up at her saying, "Think about it and let me know after the meeting. I just got word the detectives are coming up the elevator now. Put everything away. Kiana and Mrs Brotherton is coming two."
He stood up and helped her back to the ground before getting up himself to get ready for the visitors. It didn't take long before the guard knocked on the door announcing their arrival.
Ruby put on her acting persona. She could do this. She was used to setting aside her real self with all her concerns and worries and stepping into the role she had to play. So that was what she did.
She greeted everyone politely at the door and showed them into her sitting room, and then went to make a pot of coffee which she brought back along with the required number of mugs. Ruby also made a point of being pleasantly polite to Kiana and Mrs. Brotherton as if nothing was amiss. Despite her need to apologise to the security crew, she didn't believe she owed to two women any such courtesy. She didn't need an apology from them, though they probably owed her one, but she was going to let the past remain where it was. In the past. It was something she would need to talk to Doc Stryder about, to make sure that she had got it right.
The police interview went pretty much as Axel had predicted. Ruby recounted as much detail as she could remember, including the attack itself and Mr. Cadell's defensive actions and speedy reactions, making sure to avoid anything that sounded like hero worship but at the same time making it clear that he had been controlled, skilled and professional. The last thing she wanted was for him to be detained on suspicion of acting too aggressively. She needed her Papa Bear around.
While the grownups talked and the detectives considered any other questions that they might have for her, Ruby thought back to her little kitchen time with Papa Bear, time cut short by the visitors. It occurred to her that she hadn't turned off her cameras and that whoever was on duty down in the security office might be puzzled by what they may have seen. The head of her security lifting her onto a kitchen counter, checking out notecards with her, writing out more cards on the counter between her knees. It might look a bit suspicious. She needed to talk to Papa Bear about what they should do. She certainly couldn't behave the way she wanted.
And then there were the new punishments for her to look through. And the rejection of her worst punishment. The red card. What did it mean? Was she definitely still Papa Bear's babygirl, despite the pretty doc trying to steal him away from her? Was Papa Bear just keeping her together while he pursued the more interesting doctor? Was he, in fact, just humouring babygirl, like giving her a pat on the head while he did adult things with his doctor girlfriend?
And where did that leave Ruby? Was she once again cast adrift to wander aimlessly without any friends or allies? Was there anything certain, anywhere? She felt lost again, with nothing to hold on to, no certainties. Nothing. She would have to read up tonight on how to hold onto Papa Bear, find out what she had to do to keep him, to make him want her. She must do whatever it took. There must be some advice out there somewhere. And it wasn't anything she could discuss with Doc Stryder. It was just too personal, too desperate, too embarrassing to admit that she was utterly alone.
Ruby returned her thoughts to the present, thinking that she might just have missed something while she had been tuned out.
