The First Legion

Daniel Enex

"Now, tricks and magic are two different things. I have a few tricks, but I control no magic." He said, sliding his hand over her smooth back. Out of nowhere he felt a longing to be back with Roman's. They were his family, his friends, he had shed blood at their sides countless times. He remembered being on the boat traveling over to Britain. He remembered the initial conflict with the British, the Chariotts massacreing his friends, the archers turning them to pincushions. Most surprising of all was then they had established a beach head and Daniel had met Julius Ceasar, the man who people said was the greatest of all the Roman's. He remebered vividly the man's charisma and seemingly endless amounts of energy as Daniel was asked to follow him through the camp as a temporary replacement to his guard. Daniel couldn't remember any other faces from that long night, but General Ceasar must have shaken over one thousand hands, always with a smile and a quiet joke or witty saying. Daniel remembered being rpoud to be from the same city as this most noble of men. Now he felt only shame.
"Brietta....What am I going to do?" he asked her quietly.
