The General Board Sucks!

I capitalise the pronouns when I'm talking about Sir, and I also capitalise them when talking about myself My name is also capitalised, both on here and collarme Unless I am on chat, when I use the lower case because it makes for faster typing.

What I do hate is the Y/you, W/we, U/us stuff. It makes posts hard to read and isn't encouraged on this site thank God.

If you want to do it, I certainly have no right, nor wish, to stop you...so long as you know that it's grammatically wrong - which you obviously do

Gosh.....I knew that the GB board was the place to avoid, after a few warnings from the Playground, I used to be a regular there, till I found this secret corner of the Lit.

But I didn't realise it was really really that bad, till you bought your thread over on the GB to my attention......now I am thankfully that I never stepped into the GB board!!

The only punctuation I specifically use is I capitalize the "M" in master if I'm talking about mine, because that is his requirement. Otherwise, I dont bother. I'll admit, that and talking about one's self in the third person is a pet peeve of mine, but again, if it's something you're doing because it is something you enjoy in your lifestyle... who am I to say anything?

I'm green and enthusiastic, ha. I'll probably eventually stop capitalizing "He" and "His". But I'm never going to refer to myself in the third person. He's never asked me to, and I'm not going to volunteer.

Certainly is. A friend of mine is involved with a Master who expects her to type this way, so she started sending emails written in "slashy speak". For myself I just find it a bit over the top, and Sir doesn't insist on any of this thank the heavens

Same with referring to yourself as "this girl". Like you don't have a name or any identity of your own - even the dog or cat has a name! I've mostly come across it on Gorean forums or those with high protocol, much of which we have no time for

High protocol scares me. Master's taking me out to a club dedicated to this kind of lifestyle, and I'm really afraid that I'm going to make an ass of myself, offend people, and reflect poorly on Him. I mean, I know that I'm supposed to be like uber respectful around other Doms, but that's just not my way! I love being dominated, but my personality needs to mesh with the other person, you know? I don't believe that some random stranger should be treated any better than any other stranger, just because he or she likes to Top too.

I have to agree with you there. I don't submit to ANYONE but my husband, and I think I'd have to laugh at anyone who expected me to.

I'm pretty much respectfull to everyone I meet, simply because it's the right thing to do, but, untill I decide to give myself to mankind in general, this girl aint bowing to no one but him.

Personally speaking I think you probably confused many of them using capitalisation...most of them have only just mastered lower case

I made the mistake of heading over there. The mistake wasn't reading, it was contributing what I thought was just a little story of mine. Boy was I wrong!! I posted on page 1, and I believe the shit-storm created finally died on Page 9 or 10. All in a few hours!

Like someone said (don't remember who it was), the nice people over there keep quiet cause they'd probably get their heads bit off. I did get a few nice PMs from people, but that's not the norm.

As I read it, most of the respondees on that thread supported you, either by responding to your topic question without reference to the Master thing, dismissing Spaceboy, or explicitly calling him out. Dolf, in particular, was quite vigorous in your defense.

Looking at that thread alone, my conclusion would be that the GB is a rather supportive bunch.

I have made it in and out of there a few times in the past few months and come out unscathed, though there are a few folks on my iggy list just due to the fact that their hype is just not my bag.

I offer the same warning to each noobie that mentions the GB-it fine and great if you have an acerbic wit and thick skin.

it has improved in the past couple years but yeah, there is definitely a liberal mix of asshats to go with the rest and since it is unmoderated, the children like to play
