Trump Co-Defendant Loses Lawyer After Reportedly Not Paying Him

Three of Trevian Kutti's attorneys have filed a motion to withdraw as her legal counsel.

.
Although the court filing did not provide a reason for why her Atlanta-based attorney, Darryl Cohen, and her Chicago-based attorneys, Steven Greenberg and Joshua Herman, were dropping Kutti, Cohen told The Messenger on Tuesday, "In order to have a good lawyer-client relationship, the client has to listen, the client has to be on board and you have to be paid."
Emphasizing he was speaking generically given the case's high profile and unusual nature, Cohen said, "All these things have to happen. I'm not saying any of those things did or didn't happen, but you can extrapolate."
lol
guess they'll not be applying to work with trump, then

DOJ awarded access to 1,659 records from rep congressman scott perry's phone, with 396 still kept back as protected by the Constitution's 'speech or debate' clause..

The "most revealing" interaction, Politico noted, was a conversation the GOP leader had with ex-U.S. Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark — and Donald Trump Georgia co-defendant — in which Perry told Clark that Trump was upset with Clark for using the Justice Department to defend Pence against a lawsuit brought by another House member, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas)."

77-year-old has charges against him dropped after cooperating fully, the only one of 16 accused.

A Republican fake elector in Michigan told investigators of his regret for trying to swing the 2020 vote for Donald Trump — and said officials “betrayed” him by exploiting his ignorance.

In a recording of an interview obtained by the New York Times, James Renner said it was only after he heard testimony from the House’s January 6 investigation that he realized he’d acted illegally.
it's the trump brand

it's why trump loves the uneducated

it's why trumplicans want the kids kept in ignorant in school

it's why the War on Education is a very real thing

“I was accepting the individuals that were in authority” knew “what they were talking about,” Renner said in the interview.
But, after he and another 15 fake electors were sued in civil court in January this year, he started reading House transcripts involving the scheme he was accused of being a part of.

“It was only then that I realized that, hold it, there is an official state-authorized process for this,” he said. “I had never been an elector, I had never discussed it with anybody. I was used to a much more informal process at the county level. And so that’s when I became suspicious of what had gone on... what happened was not legitimate.”

genuinely ignorant or simply keeping his arse out of trouble, who knows? what matters here, imo, is that he's personally making a statement that he was exploited through his lack of understanding and blames those officials who convinced him he was doing no wrong.

so much rejection...

giuliani's request to hold a hearing to dismiss his interference case didn't wash:

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee rejected the request on Friday, arguing it "does not articulate exactly what discovery must still be reviewed, or why the review has not been completed in the approximately four months that have passed since arraignment."

EDIT: some confusion as to it being a case to dismiss or an appeal to extend deadlines as that exact same quote appears in this other source about extension not dismissal:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...1&cvid=44ab970ea598405dcf86be3c3fc2f3ba&ei=46

“The Defendant moves for an indefinite extension of the January 8th motions deadline citing his incomplete review of voluminous discovery,” McAfee wrote in the 1-page order. “Defendant does not articulate exactly what discovery must still be reviewed, or why the review has not been completed in the approximately four months that have passed since arraignment.”
“While defendant claims to have filed ‘many’ motions concerning discovery, none appear on the docket, McAfee wrote. “Extensions are only considered upon filing of a particularized motion containing a detailed, fact-based explanation of the need for the extension including the amount of time needed. The motion is DENIED. All deadlines remain in place.”

Illinois:
Trump reportedly submitted election paperwork in the state of Illinois this week without signing the customary “loyalty pledge,” a Red Scare relic wherein candidates vow not to “advocate the overthrow of the government.”
and Illinois's good with that?

if they make a city councilor in Boston take it to serve in that position, and imo rightly so, why can't we expect a potential president of the United States to assure the public he'll not "advocate the overthrow of the government"?

WASHINGTON — The judge overseeing the federal election interference case against former President Donald Trump has denied his request to hold special counsel Jack Smith and his office in contempt.

Earlier this month, attorneys for Trump asked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan to hold Smith in contempt for filing motions while the case is stayed pending Trump’s appeal on presidential immunity grounds.
while she agreed that the filing wasn't in 'the spirit' of her Stay order, she determined that the government hadn't acted in bad faith or 'violated' any of its clear and unambiguous' terms. From now on, she's instated a further order that requires either party to seek her permission first before submitting any other filings.

A Georgia judge has rejected a bid by the legal teams of Donald Trump and a co-defendant to compel the Fulton County District Attorney's Office, which is prosecuting him over alleged 2020 election interference in the state, to hand over certain documentation on the basis that "the items demanded do not exist."

The ruling was issued on Wednesday by Judge Scott McAfee at the Fulton County Superior Court. Trump was indicted on 13 counts in Georgia related to allegations he acted illegally while attempting to block Joe Biden's 2020 presidential election victory in the state. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, which the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner insists are politically motivated.

Trump and former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, one of his 18 co-defendants in the case, had been demanding details of correspondence between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Representative Bennie Thompson.

Aw. The same Ken Cheseboro who tried to give Trump an illegal strategy for defying the Constitution, pled guilty to felony conspiracy to file false documents and has now been fired from his lawyering job in Puerto Rico.

Only the best!

Aw. Setback for the asshole. 😀

Judge rejects Trump’s bid to get Georgia election subversion case dismissed on free speech grounds

https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/04/politics/donald-trump-fulton-country-first-amendment/index.html
“After interpreting the indictment’s language liberally in favor of the State as required at this pretrial stage, the Court finds that the Defendants’ expressions and speech are alleged to have been made in furtherance of criminal activity and constitute false statements knowingly and willfully made in matters within a government agency’s jurisdiction which threaten to deceive and harm the government,” McAfee wrote in his order issued Thursday.

It isn't the words/speech. It's the actions.

You can stand on a street corner and yell 'find me 11,000 votes' all day ling for months at a time. But when you contact state officials and demand they do it as a matter of their duties, you have a different situation.

I looked on a couple of wrongguides favorites sites and they aren’t covering that just yet. Guess it takes a day or so to make up a bunch of garbage to throw at the small minded who thinks it’s “news.”

MAGA is taking pages from American pro NAZI fascist Senator Joe McCarthy’s book. Like Trump, he had the cultish support of the American right.

He was going to run for president against Ike Eisenhower and had plans to circumvent voters by using corrupt electoral college electors. Fortunately he had the decency to die of liver failure at the ripe old age of forty eight before he could do it.

History doesn’t repeat itself but it definitely rhymes.
