The minimum number of votes required for a story to be eligible is 25. There is still time to acquire the 25. Shameless begging for votes sometimes helps.

I think you need to post 100 messages. The edit avatar option in the user cp becomes available after the 100th post.

If not, I just spent an entire afternoon being helpful for the sake of it 20 or something posts in one day.

it is only paranoid if one already knows how to be safe, in which case, he could have skipped your how-to.

Literotica is a well read site for everyone. It is also a place to get in a lot of trouble if one does not know how to be safe.

The word chains game is a particularly easy way to qualify. We could trade words for the next half hour, angel, and you'd be halfway there.

Writing a story or two for the Flash Fic thread is a good way to rack up some posts. Besides, it gives you all sorts of author-y sreet cred.

Okay, it's really just because I like that thread and hate to see it languishing for lack of new materials.

One vote per computer is the limit. Some people don't realize this and vote more than once, so those are taken off. Also people will come in and hit the '1' on everyone just for fun. "Trolls". If your work is getting all 4-5's and then a '1' pops up, it's more than likely a troll, so it is swept off. In the Earth Day Contest, which was the first one I entered here, the most I lost in a sweep was about 6, I believe. But I had only around 35 at that time. It will generally put your rating up, though, as it takes off the bad votes.

I am sure there are other things in the sweeps, but I have only been in the AH since Feb., so I am learning yet, too. Hopefully I have this all correct.

Great point here. It is such a good place to challenge yourself and have fun as well. With the topics changing as they do, you can go back and add posts frequently.
