It wouldn't be Unconstitutional to use the military like that. It would be interesting in practice to see what the Supreme Court would say about the Marines. The Posse Comitatus Act which what I'm assuming you're referring to specifies no Army and as of 1956 no Air Force. And by 1956 the Marines were established and well known so it's plausible they were ignored intentionally. (I doubt it to be honest, I think they were simply neglected and it should read US Armed Forces or whatever the technical term is that refers to all branches) but hey I didn't write it.)

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee argued over the weekend that a 10-year-old girl should have been forced to carry her pregnancy to term after she was raped.

During an interview on Sunday, CNN host Dana Bash asked the GOP candidate if he would refuse an abortion to a 10-year-old girl in Paraguay, who was allegedly raped by her stepfather.

“Creating one problem that is horrible — let nobody be misled, a 10-year-old girl being raped is horrible — but does it solve a problem by taking the life of an innocent child?” Huckabee said. “And that’s really the issue.”

Good thing she lives in Paraguay. Maybe Mikey could carry the baby,and care for it while it grows up? After all, he's such a caring person.

You know I disagree with hi stance and strongly so BUT I'm impressed by anybody who has a belief and sticks to it. For me beliefs, especially ones like that aren't just for when it's easy to stick to. They are especially important when they are difficult or in some cases impossible to stick to.

I meant that's a terrible misrepresentation of what Huckabee meant and in the complete quote it's really obvious what he meant. (He's still wrong and stupid) but his point was that nobody today treats the Dred Scott case as law today. Not that it should still be in effect.

What he said was stupid and he'd and all Republicans would heavily benefit from having someone stand by and say "Nope, you can't say that. Find another way of saying the same thing.
