The "Implosion" of the Democratic Party

Did you see that I sand-bagged 'em again by quoting Clinton?

:D :D :D

Bush haters too predictable!

;) ;)

You're getting good at that. And you wait just long enough between "lessons" that they forget and take the bait.

It's a gift you have there bro.

I'm stupid.

It's my edge. Every man needs an edge and a piece of hard rock candy thats only for lookin' through. Once you're comfortable with knowin' your limitations, then life gets a lot easier and a lot more fun.

So, again, you see it's true that stupid is as stupid does!

Take LT for example...

Good morning Ish. Whatcha got planned for the day?

Political study or something more hedonistic?

Ishmael abandons his principles for some Bush

Ishmael, the same guy who gripes endlessly about how evil the Democrats are, is pulling out the stops for George W Bush

The same guy who brought us John "USAPATRIOT" Ashcroft

The same guy who tried to bring us CAPPS II.

The same guy who has created a concentration camp for "enemy combatants" and has denied them every human right except bread and water (and due to all the secrecy, no one is even sure about that).

The same guy who now has signed the Intelligence Authorization Act into law, allowing the FBI to demand all your financial records from everyone from car dealers to banks - not by a warrant, not by probable cause - but by writing a bullshit letter requesting the info.

Mind you, he's a self proclaimed Libertarian. He's not willing to field the Libertarian candidate because everyone knows those guys are a totally Lost Cause (ahem).

Instead, Ishmael stands for the guy who has done more to destroy our civil Liberties than Bill Clinton for the sole reason that Bush is the sitting President and has a chance of winning in 2004 so he can destroy even more of our civil liberties!

He wants his taxes lowered so badly that he doesn't care if the whole country is turned into a fucking prison.

:D :D :D

Who is going to be the democratic candidate?

Does Dean have a lock on it or is it going to be Linden LaRouch?

I still say Hillary is angling for a dead heat and a backroom deal to make her the candidate.

She doesn't want to have to be vetted as the others are, she likes to be in control and Gulianni is beginning to makes noises about running against her in '06 and that scares her shitless unless she has no intention of running again in '06 because she is either in the White House or not willing to take the chance of being defeated so close to '08...

Whew. Put down the coffee A_J!

Sentences man! Sentences...

Just because Bill and Hillary avoid them so well doesn't make it okay for you!

;) ;)

LT - Do you really think paying taxes are a big issue with the rich?

Their jets are more expensive than their tax burden.

Yachts too...

Paying taxes ONLY a big deal to the middle class.

I don't even think cutting the rich's taxes get more gardeners and housekeepers hired. Illegal's get abused so badly that they can already afford a full staff...

I have a couple friends who know Bill and Hillary personally and they say that Hillary is a complete bitch and that her only goal is to become President one way or another...that everything else (like principles) is secondary to that goal.

There's no news there LTGR...

:D

And LT, when you soak the rich, they pass on the cost to you. Entertainers raise ticket prices. Parking fees go up at the ballpark. Rich people usually are rich not by inheritance, but by being business owners so they're gonna get the level of income they want by either moving offshore or by raising the prices of goods and services.

Like the Huxely Novel, I'm the Maya bird screaming, "Attention! Attention!"

One of the favorite examples of talk show hosts are a working teacher and fireman working in New York who makes a 100,000 a year in a city that takes 150,000 a year to live comfortably the way I do out here in the boondocks...

Of course, they should have been janitors for the NYC school district and then they could have been pulling in 100K per person per year.

Yeah, make corporations pay their "fair share" and see who foots the bill.

Zell strikes again

Yes, Old Zell, in his quiet way, has once again pretty much told the Democrats what they know, and don't want to hear.

If you have read his latest book, get it and have a few good laughs...and buy a few flowers for the grave of what used to be the Democratic Party

It's getting even more interesting. Gephardt is chipping away at Deans lead in Iowa, and while Dean's dealing with that problem Clark is eating away at his lead in New Hampshire.

So, given Dean's volatile temper and his threats last month. If Dean losses in the early primaries will he and his "pierced nostril" and "tattoo" brigade form a third party?

Stay tuned, we'll know soon.

Ishmael

Things are certainly getting more interesting in IOWA (and that's really saying something). There's a four way tie now. Dean's once gigantic lead is gone. What happened to him? Who's going to come out on top? Edwards seems to have really increased his number.

Alas, IOWA really doesn't mean anything anyway. Once-every-four-year elections seems to be one of IOWA's main economic interests.

Don't look now, but the Republicans are on the verge of civil war too!

Yup, not the Republicans. Just the conservatives that vote Republican. I can only hope that this is a "wake up" call for Bush and especially for congress.

You throw the spending on top of that mis-guided immigration plan and you have the formula to piss a lot of conservatives off.

Ishmael

Yeah. I'm still a single-issue voter this year, but I am writing some letters to my past and current representatives on both the state and national level. This hyper-Democrat stunt is just about the final nail in DeTouqueville's coffin and we are about to open the gates for the Hun. Maybe when the election is no longer in the balance and the second term looks more assured.

Note that he did have the balls to recess appoint Pickering.

He should have done it the first time for Estrada though.

Looks bad to fight harder for the white guy...

If Estrada hadn't with withdrawn he might have. I'm waiting to see what happens with the two California nominees. Especially the black judge. It would be fun to watch the Democrats bash yet another black judicial appointment.

Yeah, they strive to have it both ways, to see America divided along racial lines and idiological lines. But, at a time when the greatest racial divide is not black vs white America but the United States against the brown Mexicans being forced out of Mexico by the white Mexicans.

Right now a black Baptist has more in common with the Republican Party's stands while the Democrat positions play right into the hands of Vincente Fox and MeCha.

But I am rambling and drifting here. Getting angry at ALL of Washington again. Getting back into the let's dress up as Canadians and go burn down Washington again kinda mode.

The immigration plan is an idea "put up on the table" for discussion. It's certainly not a done deal.

There are a lot of positives to it. There certainly is a need for low priced labor here. I agree that first preference should go to Americans, but, many jobs go unfilled (lost revenue, lost services, lost productivity, lost tax base). Even though our national unemployment rate is 5.7%, there are tremendous numbers of jobs being advertised every day. All the on-line services are bursting at the brim with unfilled jobs.

The balance is to (1) fill jobs and (2) clamp down harder on illegal immigration. We need to encourage immigration, but at the same time, make choices about who we want to come in and at what volume rather than just leaving the borders open.

I think something's up. There's a lot of technology going into border control. Also, Bush has proven himself as someone different than most earlier Presidents where he doesn't have this attitude of "ignore it and it will go away". He jumps into the middle of things and says "lets work this out in a pragmatic fashion". I don't think all the cards have been played yet.
