No sexual relationship can protect us from illness and death. And sometimes the most important thing we should be doing is simply holding the hands of our friends or sitting with our grieving family.

Submission in those moments is much larger, much deeper and much more profound than any kinky sex act. And all the love and devotional energy you have been able to release in submission to your Daddy is now available to share with your friend. You can help carry her, and ease her, burden, in ways that people who have not practiced submission may not fully appreciate because they have not experienced sublimation of self, endurance of pain, and devotional service in quite the same measure.

Submission is still a key if you want to use it.

Thank you. I hadn't looked at it like that. You've made me look at this a whole different way. I appreciate that greatly.

So sorry your friend is going through this hon and *hugs* it's no wonder it affecting you.

Like others I have recently felt the same way towards my submission. Thankfully it's all coming together again and I feel much more settled and at one with it again.

I don't want to psycho analyse but it might just be that (to me anyway) much of submission is about surrender and acceptance. Perhaps because of the battle your friend has right now its those characteristics and associations of submission that are feeling distasteful and absurb....especially at a time when you want to fight and challenge whats happening.

Thinking of you and sending you both positive vibes. :rose:

Hi Minx--I've missed you! I am having a great deal of problems right now accepting any of the multitude of changes going on in my life around me.

Thank you

Hope things get better. I've been struggling with similar thoughts about submission lately too.

Thanks, and I hope things get better for you, too.

I can't tell you what the connection is because I don't know myself, all I can say is that I know this place quite well at the moment, and for me....it really, really, sucks.

I feel too old and too trapped to even have a "dream" anymore. And that's the worst part of it...

All my dreams have come true. My life is where I envisioned it to be all those years ago. Actually it is even better. Maybe I am feel guilty?

I am so sorry. Sending you thoughts of comfort and hugs to find your way through all of this. :rose:

Thanks so much.

I haven't been hanging around Lit as much recently. I am so glad I posted, I had forgotten how caring you all can be. Thank you for the reminders.

I love your writing.

It's funny:
Intelligently designed things...are kinda simple (if you're willing to stretch the definition of simple a bit).
Things that evolve, however, are damn complex. (Again, biased samples, and ...loose definitions).

:D

People get so bloody ANGRY. Don't they find that TIRING?!?!

Anger is sort of an infinite wellspring. People can keep going just on the strength of their own righteous indignation, well beyond the end of their own endurance. Ever seen someone clenching their fists in their sleep? It's like that ;)

Me? Ironically, I'm too indolent to get angry :D

Added a new thingie to my sig to see what you all do with it. :)

*gives an internet*

BLURT: ...I'm just a little bit in love with Melisande Sharizai. That is probably unhealthy. I also should REALLY not read that bit before bed *shudder*

Who knew I could bullshit my way though an oral exam without ever reading the book I was supposed to discuss.

LMAO!! That's how I was through most of college. Graduated with University Honors and summa cum laude too.

Yeah, I'm really good at writing about things I've never even heard of - that's what university has taught me. Talking about such things...not usually my strong suit.

Apparently my bullshit about christianity and Poland's destiny in the 19th century was convincing enough that the professor didn't notice that I never once mentioned the book, Quo Vadis, or its characters, even if the question was very straightforwardly "Christianity in the book Quo Vadis".

Which is rather peculiar, because Quo Vadis takes place in the Roman times (that much I knew even without reading it) and I talked about the 18th and 19th centuries. :D

There's something grounding about being connected with the environment, about reading the cues and understanding them.

I'm on the west coast of Vancouver Island right now, one of my old stomping grounds. It has been gloriously and unusually calm on the ocean for two days. This morning I woke up and, in my half-sleep fugue, I heard a constant, low noise - almost like a jet passing overhead but muted.

Weather's changed, I thought, before even fully waking.

Went to the living room and looked out. There was so much fog it was like being inside a ping pong ball. But I could see the odd white churn of a wave hitting on the shore.

Gonna be bumpy out there today.

I went online to check the NOAA data buoy for this area and, sure enough, wave height had changed from 3 feet to 7.8 feet. Bumpy.

I can't explain why but I like that I don't need technology to tell me about my world.

Absofuckinglutely and those that have not experienced true rage, has no concept of pure hate, or the desire to kill~ I envy and hope they never do. Thinking you hate is so different than knowing. Wanting to knock someone out is so different than knowing given the chance, you’d slit their fucking throat and praying to God you never get the chance.

For years, I carried shame for my thoughts and regretted every hateful fantasy I had and then 20 years later, I got a steroid shot, it wasn’t my first time on steroids, but this time, out of nowhere, I learned how immature that rage was. Who knew, even as I found peace in my world, in me matured a darkness that most people can’t begin to comprehend. Yes, it’s tiresome! I’d sell my fucking soul to be ride of it, if I had one! Well not true because I believe in my Lord and I have been blessed in so many other ways but I know, my husband knows, and my children know, that deep inside of me is something they could never comprehend.

I am sick and tired of caring. I am sick and tired of enjoying a great moment and being hit from the inside out. I am sick and tired of holding my tongue, in reality, because I know it would set someone off and they are not prepared for me and damn sure won’t deserve what they receive. I am sick and tired of tapping into my passive side in order to balance the aggression.

I am sick and tired of it all. Yes, I am. It is tiresome.

Desire is in men a hunger, in women only an appetite. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960

She must have written this before she was 40. Since I hit that magic number, my libido has continued to rocket off the charts, and I'm beginning to think there's no cap. I woke up this morning with a need so bad I was gritting my teeth, and that was after a nice, hard orgasm the last two nights...

Is there an emote for tears?

*sigh* i'm working on rehoming my old horse and the more people that email me that they're interested, the harder it is for me. It's silly in one way. I hardly do anything with him any more. My friends will ride him on occasion and I"ll give him a nice pat when I'm out there to ride my mare, but he mostly just hangs out in the pasture and...is a horse.

But he was my first horse and he's my old man. It just kinda breaks me up a bit inside :(
