How is it that visiting three year old's won't say hello or make eye contact when they first arrive , then spend the rest of their time singing the 'No' song ( entire lyrics consist of the word no ) at the top of their lungs for the next hour. Then say she is the splitting image of me at the same age.

I had to smile she is such a brat.

I don't care I adore the connection and she lets me color in on her page .

I taught her that , it was risky and no one else is allowed.

: sings : " no no noooo no no nnoooooo no no no " :D
I did not say a work about you being a brat - where did you ever get such an idea :D

and at that age you don't have to stay in the lines when you color....

I suspect it says a lot about me, that even at that age, I colored inside the lines...

*chuckle*

I still hate doing messy art... I tried to copy Rodin's Eve while at the Nasher the other night. (big. huge. sigh of frustration...)

/rant on

I hate people with preconceived notions. I own 2 pitbulls (both 5 years old with NO history of aggression and we have lived in this place for 3 years) and I have a hatefilled neighbor who is demanding my landlord get us moved out (their preference). It doesn't help when there are fucking assholes out there who own the breed and treat them like shit, only to scratch their heads when the dogs attack somebody/some animal/whatever....

yes I am frustrated and I get the lovely joy of talking to my landlord (who loves dogs but is afraid of threats of lawsuits) tomorrow - our token day off.

/said rant and blurb isn't going away for awhile I believe....

One of my dogs is having troubles... big troubles...

I am afraid that my trip to the vet with him tomorrow may be his last.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog woes. It is hard when animals become part of your life and just as important as human interactions in many ways. I know that my dogs have been my sanity and my safety since I became disabled - they keep me entertained, safe, and company thru the day until someone else comes home.

You know, what with being disabled, you can probably get your dogs declared 'companion dogs ', which gives them some legal protection. I believe, and I could be wrong, call your local disability advocate, that they cannot legally make you get rid of an animal if they are companion pets and you are disabled.

Postcards from the edge

It's predawn here ANZAC Day . For those unfamiliar and a desire to know what that means the temporary Lest We Forget link in my signature line offers explanation. I am very privileged to live directly in front of where veterans assemble before the march to our local War Memorial. Each year since I have lived here I have been able to just join the street and pay respectful tribute to the men & woman that have served in the armed forces . I always thought these ceremonies started at dawn because it heralded rebirth and a new day . It's only in more recent years as my resolve to learn more of this particular history that I discovered the inaccuracy of that assumption.

'The Dawn Service observed on ANZAC Day has its origins in an operational routine which is still observed by the Australian Army today. The half-light of dawn plays tricks with soldiers' eyes and from the earliest times the half-hour or so before dawn, with all its grey, misty shadows, became one of the most favoured times for an attack. Soldiers in defensive positions were therefore woken up in the dark, before dawn, so that by the time the first dull grey light crept across the battlefield they were awake, alert and manning their weapons. This was, and still is, known as "Stand-to". It was also repeated at sunset.'

So men , woman & children of a diverse range of ages congregate within a few metres of me as I write this . Considering the size of the crowd it's strangely quiet.

( back )

That was incredibly moving . No words..........

I never thought that going to veterinary school would mean going BACK to high school. I have never been surrounded by more drama and naivity in my life, not even in REAL high school.

I hate that I don't get to really feel comfortable and be myself there because of all the judgment and drama. Can't wait for three more years. So what if I'll be a veterinarian with some kinky tastes? I'll be the best damn vet in town...

GAH I HATE DRAMA>!111!111oneone
