So that is my story of scuba diving. Sorry it was so long! It's a fun adventure story to tell. I do have pictures here though.

Wow. Thank God your hearing's back to normal.

Once, during my senior year, I was getting swim lessons and they had us jump in the deep end (9 feet), and I had something similar happen when I reached the bottom. They told me not to jump in that end again, which was A-OK with me - I was getting lessons cause I don't like to be underwater, and they were trying to convince me to swim under water. I still dog-paddle. :D

Stubborn? Moi?

I ordered 5 pounds of coffee beans from ebay. About 5 dollars a pound with shipping. They have 100% positive feedback. All they sell is coffee so I'm sure it will be good.

Lol lots of things........but mainly though I am just waiting and waiting and um waiting on hearing whether I got the job I went for the other day. I can't plan anything till I find out, which means all my other plans are hanging in the air at the mo

OK.. first of all, Etoile's experience was, through no fault of her own, due to inadequate training. You don't just say to someone "here's the regulator and here's how you clear your ears, jump in!" She and her wife had no business in open water and a reputable dive operation never would have taken them out. This is no reflection on Etoile and her wife, if you don't know SCUBA, you wouldn't know that was a bad situation.
Actually, I meant to mention that, and I forgot! I definitely learned that "discover scuba" tours are bad...I can't believe they're even legal. You are absolutely right that we had no way to know this - it was 100% the dive shop's fault. I know that what happened to me was covered by the waiver I signed, but I can't believe that anybody would do this from an ethical perspective. I'm sure many other people have been injured by these "discover scuba" tours, I know they happen all around the world. I am probably lucky I escaped with nothing further than two ruptured eardrums! But yeah, handing somebody a regulator and saying "jump in" is about as irresponsible as it gets.

I would do it again if given proper training, because it was like a totally different world under the water, but my wife says she will never try it again. (She didn't get to dive at all, so she missed out on the otherworldly aspect.)

Laid? What is that? ;)

Doesn't it have something to do with groceries?

"When I returned home from the grocery store, I laid the sack down on the counter to answer the phone.. "

See, that is what I thought too.

Or maybe even sleeping,

"As I laid me down to sleep..."

Not if your orgasms are self-induced as indicated elsewhere!

I understand the concept, it's the practical side that is lacking at the moment!

Comcast sucks. I decided to downgrade my cable to the lowest package because I don't watch TV much and what I do watch is in the basic package. Except for freaking TNT and TBS. For gawd sakes, TBS was the Superstation...one of the first cable channels ever. So, to get TBS and TNT I have to buy the "expanded basic" for an extra $7/month over the $27 for basic. Then to top it off, I have to pay a $25 fee because I am downgrading. Fuckers.

Cable should be free anyway what with all of the commercials, infomercials, and 24/7 shopping channels. There's 3 shopping channels on the basic cable but no friggin TBS. Chip and Skip, I'll miss ya. :(

I swear, if we had local over-the-air stations I'd just go with that.
