It's currently 95/heat index about 98 - 100 (at almost 5pm). It's been an odd summer; I think we're supposed to officially hit 100 for the first time tomorrow (normally happens before Memorial Day). The heat index/air quality has been crap the last few days, which of course means avoiding the outdoors between 10am and 8pm. Sigh.

This is why I kept laughing at J when I was visiting him. We'd walk outside, to a perfect 76 - 82, with a stiff breeze from the Trade Winds, and he'd say it was "Africa hot."

MY BABY'S BACK IN TOWN!!!!

My brother is in town for two weeks with his family. He's on leave for two weeks then next month gets shiped out to Iraq. I met them at the pool, and my niece is just soo adorable. She looks at me and says "my wenchie's here!" *giggles* she wanted her wenchie and her mamaw by her at all times in the pool. I've missed her so much! I can't wait for them to move back, but that means my brother will be out in Iraq for 18 months. *sigh* I wish I could keep them both

I'm happy you are able to see your brother before he gets deployed. Simply put-deployments suck big time. Especially long 18 month ones. My husband has deployed twice so far for shorter than 18 months though and it was very difficult. Be there for his wife and daughter, they will need you.

Past midnight EDT, temp 85.9 w/ 64% humidity for a heat index of 91. Low tonight 78 or higher. Got to 96 w/ 70% humidity, H.I. of 103 (I think that's what I saw ) in late afternoon. Actually supposed to be hotter and more humid tomorrow. Where da fug is the lovely foothills of the mountains weather? I feel like I'm back in Flor-freakin'-ida. One of the reasons I moved here was to get *away* from this kind of weather!

Send some of that heat here!!! It was a balmy 76 degrees today in the great northwoods. I wore jeans and a long sleeve shirt to the store today. It was sad. I need more summer!!! Classes start in 18 days, then I won't see the outdoors anymore just the inside of a lab.

I am so excited!
