CutieMouse said:Ok. So roommate bestest friend and I went out for dinner/margaritas (lovely chambord meltdown, BTW), and about half-way through dinner, we realized we were seated in the unofficail "lesbian" section, because we were completely surounded by very steriotypical butch female couples... we've kind of come to expect everyone assumes we're lovers, and that men instantly hit the "Sweeet - two redheads" fantasy thing, but this is getting to be a bit much. Really.![]()
(As an aside, you have no idea how many typos I had to correct before I hit submit... did I mention how well made that 'rita was?)
HornyBabe1965 said:Sounds like you had fun. Screw 'um. Let 'um think you're gay. It ain't none of their business who you want to go out and have fun with.
My old boss thought it was odd that I had a really close female friend, and asked if I was gay.
CutieMouse said:Oh now, I totally don't care one way or the other... it's just really amusing how many people assume we're Lovers. I mean we (briefly) were once upon a time, but it's been years since that happened. We decided we weren't gay enough to be Lovers, and have discussed it since then and both agreed there's no way in hell it'll happen again. LOL
When we worked at the same coffee shop shortly after we each divorced, most of the staff thought we were Lovers.
Most of the moms in our playgroup thought we were Lovers.
My old boss thought it was odd that I had a really close female friend, and asked if I was gay.
When we go out together (totally boring stuff), men make... subtle but odd comments about us.
I was doing some work for one of her clients, who flat out asked if we were dating. She said we had an unusually close "energy" when we were in the same room, and she didn't think we were gay, but was uncertain enough that it was worth asking about. Well duh we have "close energy"... we've known each other for almost 10 years, been with each other during birth, hospitalizations, family emergencies, affairs, divorces, and raising children. Yeesh.
And tonight the hostess took one look at us, and walked us straigt past all the coupls/families and sat us in a section full of lesbians.
It's becoming a bit of a running joke, actually.
