*hug* i hope everything works out.

Kitty, the schools here make junior high kids where them every day of the year.
So have learned how to make sure they register every step taken.

Somewhere on the pedometer(depending on brand)should be a small adjustment tab. Count off five steps taken, and then check the pedometer. If it doesnt show 5, but less; adjust it to the side which says(depending on brand again)more sensitive. And if it shows more than 5, adjust to side that says less sensitive. It could just be a + and a -. + for more sensitive, - for less.

That might help with having to take such forceful steps.

Yes, you're right, there is a '+' and a '-', but back when I couldn't walk correctly, I had several physical therapists try to adjust it, tried several different models of pedometers, and tried wearing it in various places.....even tried on my actual shoe, LOL!!

Anyway, I'm just SO incredibly happy that I don't have to worry about that anymore because it means that I'm walking pretty close to normal now!!! Does it hurt like hell? Do I have a teeny tiny limp when the pain gets unbearable? Yes. BUT, I'm walking, and the pedometer is recording, and I have a goal. YAY!!!

Thank you very much for the advice, though. :) I really appreciate it!!

I think your pics are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them with us. :) I know what you mean though about the self-confidence thing and the stereotypes from the media about what is considered beautiful. It's a constant battle, but I love your pics, and I bet everyone else here does, too!! :rose:

Woohoo!!!!!!

Can I just say how AMAZING it feels when you do something you've been wanting to do, weren't sure you were ready to do, took the plunge and did it anyway.............and found SUCCESS???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nana:

Thank you!! I've already more than doubled my number of steps from yesterday, and it's only 3:40 in the afternoon here!! :nana: I think I'm going to get some graph paper and colored pencils to keep track of my steps so I can visually see the progress I'm making. I think that will be especially helpful for me on the bad pain days and discouraging days.

Thanks again for the advice. :)

Hopefully that's a good sigh and not a bad sigh. If it's a bad one, then I hope things get better. :rose:
It's a loaded, somewhat sad sigh.

I think my world is about to change.

I'm very sorry, Jade. :rose: For me, there have been times when I was very sad or scared or *fill in emotion* about my world changing, and a lot of times, not always, but a lot of times it has ended up being a change for the better. If your world does indeed change as you suspect it is, I really honestly hope that it's a change for the better for you. Hang in there! :rose: :rose: :rose:

I like how poetic that sounds. I hope your wish comes true. :rose:

thanks...but I don't think every wish should be granted and loving someone so far away is an execise in futility. Doesn't make the wishes stop though.

I'm sorry you're hurting. (((Luna)))

My right shoulder and right side of my neck are really tight and painful right now because I had my office chair too low for this new computer. I'm used to using my laptop in bed. As a result, I'm seriously wishing I had someone to give me a neck and shoulder massage. On that note, I'm off for awhile to add more steps to my pedometer. :)
