It was a small part of HS Geology but more in Earthquake Engineering in college. Then again, I've experienced a few strong ground motion events living here in Anchorage all my life.

I'm not sure what's up, but I'm hoping for quick and easy recovery for Mr H, and that it (or he) doesn't stress you out too much in the process.

a skin cancer that grew very very swiftly externally but had also gone down to the bone.
He could immediately tell the cancer pain had gone, replaced now by the kind of discomfort a surgery creates but the pain meds are doing their job well.

He has a follow up appt next week where we'll hear anything else about further treatment. As of now, no idea. What will be will be.
 
got some weeding done today in the raised beds... picking out the non-carrots, weeding the garlic & onion beds, and the asparagus green beans + the transplanted regular green beans.

The ground is so soaked that trying to weed the corn or the flower beds is just a huge mess, so another day or so of dry weather should see me being able to get started on those.

My dad was the most resilient man I know. He had cancer everywhere. Skin cancer, leukemia, breast cancer, cancer inside his ear canal (that was nasty) and finally coating his lungs. The final one led to his lung rupturing and him passing.

You never knew he was sick, never acted like it. He just went on with life. It was like having cancer was just a nuisance to him. He'd go have blood down. He'd go have his left lung drained and he was back home like nothing happened. I hope I'm resilient like that.
