Rep Dale Strong held a tele-town hall (though it wasn't advertised to the public beforehand) where he took some questions. He actually pointed out he didn't think moving the FBI to Alabama was a good idea (hint: size matters)

“As most people know, the Justice Department mentioned they ought to move all 30,000 FBI agents to Huntsville,” The congressman said, “and I’m just telling you right now that’s not a good move for us nor the government.”

Strong’s office said that these comments come from a consideration of the size of the current facilities at Redstone Arsenal. The congressman’s office said the FBI Redstone, when complete, will have space for 5,000 employees, while the current Washington D.C. headquarters alone has nearly 8,000 people assigned there.
oh, shucks, I'm sure it'll be fine when the administration fires almost half of the FBI staff, silly.

They’re starting to admit their orange emperor has no clothes. (DonOld’s administration has no clue.)

We. Told. Them. So.

Yesterday I woke up grumpy, hubby got on my nerves before work, work got on my nerves. So at lunchtime I decided I was done. Put in a half day PTO request, cited "excessive grumpiness" as the reason, and left without saying goodbye. I spent the rest of my working hours sat in the garden, enjoying the sun, listening to podcasts and being unproductive.

And until I logged onto lit, it didn't occur to me how privileged it is to have weeks of PTO enshrined in law.

In the US currently, even career government or military jobs are not safe and there is no due process for termination, you can just get locked out of your office without warning.

Are people living with a constant sense of anxiety and uncertainty? I wonder what that does to the long term health.

Yes. I was at a con a few weeks ago and the trickle down effect of all the cuts and grants was hitting people with non government local jobs.
Cutting dept of education and its grants to states is hurting everywhere.

the husband was wondering why he couldn't find his mum's raisin bread in town, so I looked up online to see if supply chains were disrupted and found this from last year:

this:

Understanding Global Raisin Trade Problems: Key Issues Impacting the Industry

In recent years, the global raisin industry has been affected by a variety of issues. One major challenge is the unpredictability of climate conditions, which directly impacts raisin production in key regions like the U.S., Turkey, and Iran.
importers can adjust but that takes time and good information, and the weather in the US has been disastrous for multiple agricultural crops

and then there's this:

The Impact of Tariffs and Trade Barriers on Global Raisin Trade

Tariffs and trade barriers are some of the most pressing issues facing the raisin trade. Countries often introduce protective tariffs that drive up the cost of importing raisins, making it harder for businesses to maintain competitive pricing. Trade barriers, like complex import regulations, further slow down the process, creating additional costs and inefficiencies. To navigate this, companies need to remain informed about international trade policies, find ways to minimize the impact of these regulations, and, where possible, negotiate more favorable terms with trade partners.

Poor Butters et al…. So much hate.

No raisin bread today? Trump is a cunt!

Liberal Hate is fun to mock.
