The journey begins.

Rhia:

Rhia heard Kaos moving up beside her, and turned to glare at him. She wasn't used to people approaching her, and it always made her suspicious. He immediately backed off, which suited her fine.

"Pretty good wolf you got there. Minds well."

"Yes, he's a wonderful Wolf. I don't own him though, he's a friend who travels with us when it suits him, and he minds only when he deems it important."

Ramok had noticed Evelyn slip into the woods and dissapear from sight. By the look on her face, he doubted she'd be coming back. Oh well, that's life in the Wastelands - people come and people go. She had never brought in any food anyway... "Safe passage to you." he mumbled under his breath.

Fifteen minutes later, the remaining travelers were on their way. Rhia and Kaos had set off first, and Ramok followed soon after. He didn't turn around to see whether or not the others followed. It didn't matter to him. Nothing mattered out here, save for a filling dinner and a warm fire...

Max:

Max watched Evelyn disappear into the woods as everone else prepared to ride. What should he do? Should he watch the man no one liked? Or the girl who was always scared?

Finally, Max decided that he'd stick with Mistress awhile longer. He could always find the scared one later if she wanted him to.

Max trotted up to Rhia's horse, staying on its heels as they moved along. He cast glances at the man riding near her now and then, just reminding him that he was being watched.

Shakira finished bathing and packed quickly. She knew she could catch up to everyone she wasn't worried but for some reason she didn't want to be alone today. Hurridly she mounted her horse and took off after everyone. She caught rather quickly and breathed a sigh of relief though she was unsure why she was relieved. Noticing the man from the night before she watched him from the beck admiring his broad shoulders. She hesitated to approach him wondering if he even wanted to bother or if he considered it just a dance. It should be just a dance but something about it, about him struck a chord inside her that had never been struck and she wanted to know why. Hesitating only a moment longer she picked up the pace until she rode beside him. "Hello there, sleep well?"

Jornan:

With a heavy, sleepless sigh, Jornan was up on Alberts back, patting the ebon mane. Jornan leaned forward, a wave of sleepiness washing over him, he felt like he could pass out any moment, this was what his nervousness got him, nearly nodding off on horse back... He looked around, trying to shake the cold grip of tiredness from his mind, nothing felt real to him at the moment, it all felt like a fuzzy dream, and it showed in his eyes as he stared off in whatever direction his head just happened to be turned.

Rhia:
Rhia turned to see who had joined them. She nodded to Shakira, never sure what to think of her. She saw Ramok, but had known he'd be with them. He always was. Wouldn't do to let her gaze linger on him though, never did any good anyway.

She noticed Jornan bringing up the rear, looking as if he was falling asleep on his horse. Poor guy probably hadn't slept all night.

She briefly wondered where Evelyn was, but let the curiousity pass. It didn't do any good to wonder about people out here.

"Jornan! You're falling asleep on your horse! Ride up here."

When he managed to catch up, Rhia fished around in her pack, and then offered Jornan a small water pouch.

"It's a tea. It will keep you awake. If you fall off out here, we won't stop for you."

Jornan:

Reaching out toward the offered water skin, Jornan held its weight in hand for a moment, everything just kinda floated as he lifted it to his lips and drank, it had a strong robust flavor to it.

Ravish gave a haughty sneer, but Tristan elbowed him in the gut before his opinion could be voiced. He smiled down at the lovely woman. Was that a sparkle in his eye? Perhaps she had known it was a mating dance after all.
"Oh yes, very well. This wagon maybe small, but it does have accomidations. It's not home, but it beats sleeping on the ground."
He reached out for her hand, kissing it. All of this was done very elegantly despite him being on a carriage and her on her horse.
"And how about you my sweet, did you sleep alone... WELL!"
His voice cracked, "I meant, well, did you sleep well."
Ravish simply rolled his eyes, urging the horse on.

Shakira blushed remembering the previous night. No she hadn't slept well at all. Her body hummed all night long remembering his touch keeping her awake. "I slept quite well thank you" she lied "where did you learn to dance like that? not many people can keep up with me"

Kaos

Looking back, Kaos saw that the group was now on there way.
He had stifle a laugh when Jornan rode pst him barely able to stay on his horse. "Not much sleep last night Jornan?"
He was really wanting to get to Pondfell, and the tavern.

"I was about to ask you the same question," he revealed to her a pendant necklace, the symbol of the gypsies on it, "I came from the people that made that dance. It had been a custom in our people for generations. Not many know about it, and even fewer can master it."
He raised an eyebrow, examining her more closely, "Who are you?"

Jornan:

"What?" Jornan looked over at the one known as Kaos. "Oh... Um... No..." Jornan's eyes were fluttering, fighting to stay open, to focus. The drink Rhia had given him was litterally, the only thing keeping him up on horse back.

Shakira studied the man for a moment and realized he did have many of the gypsy qualities about him. "My name is Shakira, my mother was a gypsy but she fell in love with my father who lives as a prominent man. He didn't want anyone to know of the affair for political reasons so when I was conceived it upset him greatly. He sent my mother away to live with her gypsy family but they wouldn't take her back because she had left them for an outsider. So she found an old abandoned cottage that she fixed up and thats where I grew up. My mother was an extraordinary dancer and she taught me all she knew" she smiled fondly "My mother and I were very close but she died recently from a sickness thus I came to live with these people"

"What an odd group to come live with. No one seems to know anyone else very well. Almost like we are all strangers who just met up one night and decided to start an adventure together."
He gave her a slight bow from his cap, "Well, always a pleasure to know we have some familiarity among strangers. I'm glad to have met you Shakira."
He leaned in, trying to be a bit more secretive, "So, what exactly is in Pondfell that is so important it requires all of you?"

Rhia

Feeling restless, Rhia jumped off of her horse, taking her bow and arrows with her. The group was moving slow, and she knew where they were going, so actually travelling with them wasn't a big concern. Besides, she hadn't decided if she wanted to go into town or not. Maybe she'd just camp on the edge of town and wait for them to move on again. All those people... she shuddered.

Her horse stayed with the caravan, as did Max, and Rhia walked into the woods alone.

Shakira felt her body heat rise considerably as he leaned closer but she ignored it. When he asked about pondfell she shrugged "truthfully I do not know I have not been with these people for long. But I'm sure we will soon find out"

A woman, just following a group blindly? This did seem odd, almost as if she wasn't being truthful to him. Or, perhaps she was just very gullible. People have been known to ask others to go on a journey, and then kidnap and sell them to passerby's at a moment's notice.
He couldn't imagine this group being that mean, but one never could tell.
"Well then, perhaps we should go ask the head of this little band, shall we? Who leads everyone here? I'm sure he'll have a few answers."

Walking through the woods, concealed by the gnarled trees, Ramok couldn't help but overhear the conversation between the two gypsies. He approached the wagon, and without asking permission hoisted himself up onto the wooden seat.

Facing the man who called himself Tristan, he spoke, "Don't bother. There's no leader in this 'little band', just a bunch of outcasts wasting their pointless lives in an endless roadtrip. That's all. Most of us ain't going anywhere particular, just drifting along with the flow, y'know?" Ramok squinted at the golden sun that was desperately trying to fight its way through the gray clouds. "If you think about it, all this shit is pointless. None of us mortals can ever accomplish anything worthwile. Can't even make ourselves happy. We just drift along... and hope things will get better in the afterlife..." Not waiting for a reply, Ramok jumped off the wagon and dissapeared back into the forest.

Shakira's eyes widened at the man speech then he jumped off the wagon as fast as he had come. Looking at Tristan she frowned slightly "he doesn't have a very positive outlook on life does he?"

Rhia:

Rhia watched the interchange between Ramok and the gypsies with amusement. Some people were always seeking answers... asking questions... as if anything mattered in the end. Did the knowing change anything?

Shaking her head, she too, slipped deeper into the trees. Ramok's earlier mention of venison had gotten her craving. She was determined to find a buck before nightfall.

At the sound of movement behind her, she froze, her hackles raising.

Ooc: Try to give an incentive for someone, anyone to come up with a plot... (sigh)

He gave a growl, shaking his hand, "Some people are happy merely flowing through life. I, on the other hand, would like to live it, and not let it pass me by. Fine, we are off to Pondfell then, and there. If we travel there for no reason, then let us make haste. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can leave."
He gave Shakira a smile, "I see your hand is bare, so, no betrothed?"

Jornan:

Even with the tea he'd been given, Jornan could not stay awake, his head layed upon Blackmane's mane, his mouth hung open, softly breathing, his arms dangled from either side of Alberts thick neck. For a moment it looked as though he might be jostled from the horses back, but he stayed atop, securely in the saddle.

OOC: well lets see we have gypsies and travelers with no place to really belong. What about if they heard a legend of a paradise or something and they search for it? a place to belong? just a suggestion. We really need to find a plot o rthis thread is gonna die.

Shakira looked at her hand a moment then shrugged "I suppose I have never met the right man" she looked at his hand "I see the same goes for you" she smiled a secret smile at that fact and met his gaze. " To me life is something to be savored and cherished" she thought for a moment "what do you look for in a woman?"

Ooc: Oh, look, we're at Pondfell already!

Tristan could merely stifle a smile, "I have no need to look at all, my mother said that she would find my a wife. That is why I'm out here, just a few months on my own, trying to make my way while preparations for my marriage is planned."
He shook his head, "I don't even know who she'll be, could be anyone honestly. The surprise is half of the fun, no?"
Ravish stopped the coash at the edge of town, glaring at the bustle from the streets. It looked like a tiny marketplace. Nothing more than a few shops here and there, but enough for trading and bartering.
"Mmmm, excellent. Customers," he grinned, inadvertantly grabbing for his juggling pins, "would you like to join us? We'll share the profits..."
Ravish grumbled solemnly as he went to the back to "change" into his outfit.
