Even as Emma went to bathe and cleanse herself of that encounter, she gave herself a mental pat on the back for keeping a straight face as he outright told her he thought William a fool. Her. Someone who he assumed would need to definitely report that to William. Even though she wasn't Lariat bound to repeat it word for word. Oh, William was getting it. He was also going to be told of what she did to make the poor Prince distracted as hell tomorrow.

As the Queen enters his chambers she exhales. "The negotiations." Honestly, she saw no reason not to confirm it. Even as she gracefully motioned to his sofa there. "May I sit?" When he agreed.
She sat, smoothing hands over her dress and then turning a little to look at him. "If you studied craft with your Father enough, you are using your resources to discover the truth of what my Husband wishes to .. pull over your eyes." She offers him a wry smile.
"Mine forgets that all those long years ago, I took part in all this in much the same way as your Emmaline. I was his Queen, yes, but also his tool to try and get information. Your Father was very adept at countering my attempts. So. In the end, we'd first sit and talk for a moment. I'd tell him what Thaines wanted from him, and we'd work out a countermove that benefitted both." She motioned to him.
"If you look, I believe to the Northernmost lands of yours. One which strategically borders. You, us, and the barbarian lands. Propose a counter that you'll allow us to set up within one of the smaller towns there which get raided. So we can strengthen there, and begin a counter of attacking from that side. While your own people keep doing there's from the other side. It means they'd be suddenly spread between fighting on two fronts, and that if with both forces success comes victory. You allow us to take their lands and we'll remove that base of your lands, and then allow you a base in ours. So we can keep pushing the proverbial offensive. Without both of us suffering crippling costs."
She exhales. "From the once Kingdom I hailed from, it was within those lands. It was overrun when I was 12. I remember those lands we plentiful, and there's a mine there. It should placate my Husband, and he'll enjoy knowing he can retake something that was once his wives' old lands."
As she looks at him. "Does it sound reasonable? Something that helps both of us and stops him from trying to claim something that you should keep. I recall well the rumours of that area, something about Fae in the woods and hidden lands and riches. Nevermind the mithril mine there which I think your father never discovered, but our surveyors did."
