As Glenn slept I decided to cast magic on him again. As I listened to his heart beat I sofltly chanted these words:
~~~~
Though your anger may arise,
Never forget your lovers eyes.
Your heart may feel broken,
Know you will not be forgotten.
May your dreams remind you,
Of a love you once knew.
Let that memory always be me.
When awake you are free.
When you sleep, we are bound.
But, kiss my lips and love will abound.
After two full moons the dreams will end.
I pray you kiss my lips by then.
If there is no kiss, love is no more.
You will never again think of me as before.
~~~~
When my chant was done I wiped away another tear. This would be a test of how much he truly loved me. He would be hurt when he was sent away. But, once away from me, he would dream of me. He would then decided on his own if he wanted to truly be with me or not. He had a time limit of two months. If he did not come for me by two months, the dreams would end and he would most likely move on with his life. I too would move on and marry the Mage.
I wanted Glenn to want me as a free man. If he still wanted me after being freed, I would accept him as my mate. I would never send him away again if he came to me as I hoped he would. I looked up to him and saw the look of joy on his face as he slept. This gave me hope that he would indeed return to me on his own accord. I sat up, careful not to awaken him, and teleported to the spot where we had made love by the fountain. I sat on the fountain and cried. I had never cried before and found I did not like it.
I found that my tears held magic as well. As my tears dropped into the water of the fountain the water turned black. Startled by this realization I stood and moved away from the fountain. I tried to teleport myself back into my chambers but could not. My magic had never failed me before, so I was confused. I tried several more times and I could not telport. I said to myself, "So, it has begun." I then tried to use my magic to stir the black water. The most I got was a minor ripple. I sighed and said, "It is time for him to go. Hopefully my magic will return when he is gone." I then walked back to the castle and entered. I then made my way back up to my chambers. I quietly opened the door to see him still sleeping. I sighed as I admired his masculine body.
I could not sleep and sat in a chair. I watched him sleep until the sun rose. When he began to stir I walked to the cabinet and opened the doors. His swords were still safe and sound in the cabinet. I picked them both up and was surprised by the weight. With no magic to help me lift them, I dragged them over to him. With an almost brash voice I said, "Awake. Dress. Take up these swords. Say not a word. Meet me on the steps outside of the castle main doors." I had to avoid eye contact because I knew if I looked into those eyes my resolve would be broken down.
I quickly walked out of the castle and too the stables. I ordered a stable hand to hurry up and saddle Glenn's horse and bring it in front of the castle by the main entrance. I then returned to the steps to wait for Glenn. The stable hand worked quickly and was walking the magnificent creature over to me.
