-The lake Side Case is closed for Lexavier-

Mike Futures leaned on the fender of his battered Ford. He tapped out an out of state cigarette out of the pack. He swore for the millionth time he was going to quit. It just never seemed to happen. Mike had been on the road for two days. He was hungery and tired, but more then anything else he was road wary. He pulled over to clear the cobwebs from his mind and to look at something besides the endless ribbon of concrete he had driven through. It was a sorely need break.

He was on a county road that ran next to a small lake. He had parked under a tree to keep the sun off his face, now the sun was fading and casting shadows across the green carpet of grass that layed out in front of him. A breeze off the lake gave him a chill. And he starts to look around. He straightens himself up and walks over to lake edge to take a look at the water. He notices a small oil slick riding on the little waveletts that are caused by the breeze over the water.

He realizes that it is almost dusk and the new found darkness is surrounding him like a cloak. Soon he would be able to see only the darkness, and hear the lapping of the water around his side of the lake. He turnes and heads back to his car and crushes his cigarette with his shoe on the ground near his Ford. He walks up to the car door, but resists opening it. He crosses his arms a places his chin on the intertwined fingers and leans on the roof of the car.

It is dark now and Mike has yet to move from his temporary lakeside camp. He watches as the moon starts to cast a silvery glow over the landscape. His thought are interupted by a splash of light that cut through the darkness at the far end of the grassy feild. The sound of music echoes just for second off the trees.

He has found civilization after all and it took the darkness to clue him in. Isn't that the way it goes some times. He thinks.
He lifts himself off the roof of the car, and slowly walks toward the light he has seen from the lake. As he gets closer, he hears the music much clearer now and there are beer neons lighting up the place. The LAKE SIDE B & G. He opens the front door and walks in.

Lexy sat across the table from the suspicious man. The smell of alcohol made her nose crinkle and her eyes water. He scratched his ungainly chin and licked his lips, like he was some god’s gift to women. She adjusted her ruby red dress, crossing her legs, letting the soft material rise up her thigh. As much as his lecherous look disgusted her, he had the information she wanted in his foggy head. His eyes bulged as he gazed at her creamy thighs.
Pushing the dark hair out of her face, and leaning forward again, Lexy finally spoke.
"I Know..." she whispered, her sweet smile promising everything to him, "I know you stuck up that cashier last night Bobby..." Pausing again, as Bobby's eyes wandered down to her chest. Lexy supressed a shudder,
"Where's your friend, Bobby? Where's Paul?" She teased her bottom lip with the tip of her finger. Bobby gulped and started to speak, Lexy cut him off. "Now don't lie to me Bobby, you don't want to make me upset now do you?" She pouted, Bobby shaking his head and swallowed again.
"He stays in that abandoned house, near the factory..." Bobby's voice was shaky and distant. His mind was certainly on other things. It had been pretty easy to manipulate him; Bobby was a small fish being pushed around by sharks. Paul Ridges was the aggressive Bastard she wanted to get.
Lexy pushed away from the table, giving Bobby a smirk.
"Go Home Bobby, and try to stand up for yourself more or we're really going to have trouble, ya hear me?" Sighing, she walked across the bar. Now she needed a stiff drink...

The LAKE SIDE B & G

What a hole in the wall this is. To be fair it was not that bad. Road side joint like this one take on a life of there own. This one had some of the same signs that many road side bar and grills have. Fight poster, beer adds and smoke filled. Not all places observed the new clean air acts passed by many state houses.

Mike looks around, he wondered if the locals are always this surly. The place is strangely subdued. The music is pounding out some old 80's hits that Mike recalls were really popular back then. Maybe this place was locked back in that frame of mind.

Mike found a booth and slid in. The fake brown leather is tacky. What a surprise. The table is clean. The menu cover is old. He guesses it about 25 years old. That got him thinking.

He reaches over and pulls a menu from its holder. Opens the cover and looks over his options. The names are the same only the prices have been changed. They have been serving the same thing since....1983. Mike sees the date on the back.

A tall thin waiteress ambles over to the table."What'll it be,sugar?"
Mike looks up at her. "Ah no sugar tonight, how about a meat and potatos?"
"I'm Doris, I'm your server tonight, cash or credit, no checks, no free food, no handouts, no food stamps, pay before you leave.

Mike looks back at the menu. This one must of run away from home Mike thinks. "Doris number 4 sounds delightful. And a beer."
Doris writes scratches away. "You want some bread with that?

"Doris that would be a beautiful thing, fresh if you got it." Mike adds slipping his face down below the menu and smurks.

Doris walks back to counter and calls out. Hey stupid, the guy at number 7 whats your dead meat platter with that puke sauce, seven day old potatos and that brick you call bread, and.....please can we have it before the next ice age!

Mike shakes his head and smile...nice place!

Holding a half full glass of bourbon loosely between two fingers, Lexy glanced round at the newcomer, as did most of the clientele such as they were. City Slickers always stuck out like a sore thumb and this one was no different, perhaps a slight brighter in the eyes.
She eyed some of the more boisterous members, mixed in with the bikers and the other travellers that would frequent this place were the guys who lived on the outskirts of the town. The sort of people who came here for the pleasant atmosphere and the exquisite cuisine.
Coming to a decision she strode over to the man and plonked herself down infront of him. At least he smelt better than Bobby, even if it was the smell of cigarettes. Eyeing him for just a moment, she went for an opening statement.
"You're not from around here, are ya hun."

ruby red dress local

"You're not from around here, are ya hun." Mike looked at her for a minute befor speaking. How to play this? straight, goof, tough, professinal, lie?Mike nods his head. " That's right, I'm from Florida. I'm tired, hungry and not interested in what ever your selling."

Finally his food arrived and the waitress had been right it was a dead meat patty with what looked like puke, the potatos didn't look a week old and the beer is cold. The woman sat with him in the booth just looking at him. He gained respect for her. He eat his meal and drank his beer. He looked at her.

"Maybe a better question is....what can I do for you, besides buying you another cheap bourbon, besides I got a bottle of Jack in my car. The moon is up, the Jack is on ice, I bet the water is cool, and you look hot as a saturday night special."

He was smooth she'll give him that, and she smiled despite herself. "Firstly, I'm not selling anything." She took a long sip from the glass, licking the warm liquid off of her lips. "But if you're heading into town, sooner or later you're gonna be my problem."
She tried to size him up but couldn't, a rough around the edges guy finding himself in a roadside joint on the outskirts of a small town. "As for the drink..." she continued, "I'm working, so it's just the one for me."
She'd need to bag that scumbag Paul tonight before he slipped away. She glanced at Bobby, still nervously sitting on his own, his eyes had probably never left her legs except to wander to other areas. He noticed her looking and tried to smile seductively, it didn't work.
She turned back to the man infront of her, "So what's your business? You stopping in town or passing through?" she tried to make it sound conversational, but realised she'd slipped into her interrogation tone and rebuked herself for it.

I'm working

Slowly Mike started putting together the peices in his mind. She is giving him clues. He went through them in his mind"
1)I'm working
2) sooner or later you're gonna be my problem."
3)So what's your business
4)You stopping in town or passing through
5)so it's just the one for me

Mike ran them through his head. Then he came to a realization.! Mike smiled to himself. Maybe its time to have a little fun with my new friend. He spotted the waiteress and waved her over. He opened his wallet and pulled out a black American Express card. The waiteress looks at the Black American Express

I never seen one like this befor, is it real?

"Yes Doris its my company credit card, you see I'm here working."

Lexy took a quick glance at the card and sat back, folding her arms.
Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, she quickly finished her drink, the glass making a light clunk as she chucked it onto the table. This man was a mystery, out of place, and it bugged her.
"Who do you work for?" she asked nonchalantly.

"Who do you work for?"

"Who do you work for?" the cop askes.

Mike smiles and kills his beer. Places the bottle on the table. As Doris walks off with the black card. Mike reaches in side a jacket pocket and pulls out a different wallet. He slowly opens it and pulls out a business card.

From out of the back all can hear Doris OH MY GOD.... Doris walks back out to the table with the card in one hand and the receipt in the other. She looks at Mike You have a 10 million dollar credit limit

Mike drops the business card on the table.

Palm beach, Fla. 33401

MIKE FUTURE
----------------------------------------

"My name is Mike Future I'm from Florida." Mike signs the receipt and puts the credit card back in his wallet.

Daintily, Lexy picks up the business card. The cogs were whirring, the pieces slot together and she smirks.
"Mike Future of Future, Carr and Ketchem, all the way from Palm Beach Florida, come to show the hicks the error of their ways. You like your food cheap, your beer watered, your cigarettes often... I bet you even drive a beat up car, all despite having a 'buy anything you want' credit card." She summed up nicely, letting out a tinkling laugh. "I was right; you are going to be trouble."

She stood up slowly, straightening her dress. "I suppose it's only fair to share. The name's Claire Alexandria, but everyone calls me Lexy, and you aint the only Private Detective around these parts. Now if you'll excuse me, work is always calling." She strutted away, the clip clop of her high heels echoed as she disappeared out of the door.

As soon as she left, Bobby was on the phone...

She paused briefly at her non-too-special car to quickly change into more appropriate shoes and throw a jacket around her shoulders before climbing into the driver’s seat. Her night wasn't over yet, there was still one lawless bum to catch... if he was even still there. She revved the engine, speeding onto the road and headed into town. Since the factory shut down, a lot of the houses used to hold workers had emptied but there was one particularly run down place that seemed to attract the bad folk.

The car pulled up outside, the breaks squealing softly in the night air made her cringe. No time to mess around, he definitely knew she was here. Out of her handbag appeared her gun, the familiar grip of the Glock felt comforting and she let out a long breath before stepping out.

When she wasn't immediately shot down, Lexy took it as a good omen and sprinted to the front door. Locked, of course. None of the windows showed signs of life. Her heart beat hard, she fought to control her breathing as her body coursed with adrenaline.

One... two... three! She gave the door a resounding kick, it'd been beaten in so many times that it just popped out of its socket and swung open with a crash.
Lexy dived head first into trouble.

Paul was crouched at the top of the stairs looking directly down at the door. Unfortunately Paul was usually all mouth and no substance and when it actually came down to using his gun, he was a poor shot. Lexy managed to roll in and out of view of the stairs without getting hit.

"Put it down Paul! It'll be easier than me having to put a bullet in ya!" she yelled up at him.
"Suck my Dick Bitch!" was his simple retort, followed by a cacophony of bullet fire that only served to waist his ammo. She rolled her eyes, 'men'.

The Hole In the wall Inn

I was right; you are going to be trouble. The cop said. But now the cop has a name, Claire 'Lexy'Alexandria. Funny the last 'Lexi or Lexy Mike could remember or had know was a large burley Russian gent, Alexis Rostov from Lopenzo on the Sea of Azov. A modern day pirate. A strange Russian bear of a man, he didn't drink, didn't smoke and I never remember him swearing. He is a remarkable shot though. He had dropped a Turkish fella at 1800 yards.

Mike watched the cop, Lexy, leave. Your right Lexi I am going to be trouble I'm here to turn your world as you know it upside down. He gets up to leave and sees Doris talking to a man in the corner. He waves a two fingers at her to come over. She strolls over the him.

Mike smiles at Doris. "Doris dear I'm a former Airbourn Ranger I have killed 22 men in knife fights, I have shot more then I can remember. At 6" 2' I'm the smallest guy in the office. If you spread the word that I'm in town and some of the local boys want a piece of me, we. By that I mean, you and me are going to have a problem. " Mike lookes at Doris as the bllod drained from her face. Mike taps Doris on the face gently with a hand. "I see we understand each other, thats good." Mike turns and walks out the door. That should get the tonues a waggin Mike thinks.

As he is leaving a couple guys come in the door. "Hey guys I need a plays ta crash is there a hotel or motel in the area?" The taller of the two looks at him and nods. " Yeah, there's a motel just down the road Its a shit hole of a place. Its called the Hole in the Wall." Mike thanks them. He looks up the road at his Ford and starts walking.

The night air is brisk and the wind is making the trees sway to and fro. He is about 120 feet from the door. He hears it slam shut. "Hey Mister!" Mike turns and sees its the guy he had spoke to as he was leaving. The guy walks up to him. I understand your from Florida, the wife and I want to go on vacation. You being from Florida and all, where should we go?" Mike turns around and walks away. Then calls out "Maine, Florida is as hot as hell."

Mike reaches his car and gets in. It starts and he pulls out and waves at the guy standing on the road looking at him. Mike slows down as he pass him. "Try the Lobster its great there."

Lexy was patient. She sat with her back against the stairs just out of sight of Paul, his ragged breathing breaking the silence. The house was caked with dust, everytime she moved it sent clouds of it floating through the air.

Lexy was patient. She controlled her breathing carefully, counting silently in her head. It was methodical. By the book. These lessons kept her alive. She smiled to herself, he was less likely to be in control. His frustration would be mounting. His fury would throw off his aim further.

Lexy was patient. The time grew nearer she could feel it. The house creaked as the wind blew, but it wouldn't be enough to cover the sound of movement or the sound she was waiting for.

*click*

The release of a magazine. Pushing herself away from the wall and rounding the corner, Lexy levelled the handgun and yelled out. "Freeze. Drop the weapon or I will open fire. You are under arrest." Paul was still squatting at the top of the stairs. He had good cover. The slotting sound of a fresh magazine rung out, declaring his intentions to the world.
Without remorse, Lexy put six bullets through the wall. The house was so old all the internal walls were just plaster and dust now and the bullets easily passed through it and him. He cried out in pain and Lexy was upstairs and on him. Three punctures in the side and one in the arm...

She called it in ofcourse but he didn't make it. Still, one less dirtbag off her streets. She could finally call it a night now.

yeah....Right

And then the rains came and washed it all away.Said the preacher on the radio. Mike turned off the radio as he reached the sign.
The Hole in the Wall Inn

Mike pulls in and parks in front of the sign guests only
Another sigh readOFFICE

Mike climbs out of the Ford and walks up to the door and looks in through the window. He smiles at what he sees. A woman is in a rocking chair with a shotgun in her lap. Mike opens the door and enters. The woman looks about 90. She is wearing a faded blue jeans and a white tee shirt with a picture of a middle finger raised. With the letters and the horse you rode in on under it. She turns and looks at Mike. "YES?"

"I'm looking for a room for the night maybe longer."Mike states. The woman just looks at him."OK" But doesn't move.

"That a nice handy shot gun you got there, a Baserri Mari HR 20. Walnut stock with a blue finish." The woman smiles at him. And gets up from the rocking chair. Places the shotgun down in the corner behind the counter. My Henry got that for me when he went to Italy. He was a good man. He sent it to me two days before he died.

Mike tried to look saddened. "Old age?" The woman opens a register book and turns it to Mike. "Nope, he tried to pick up a hooker in Malano and she stabbed him, He all ways was a randy old goat.

Mike signed his name. "How much for the room?" he askes. Ten dollars an hour Mike looks at her in shock. "$240 dollars a day, lady this not the Hilton in Palm Beach. You don't even have a beach!"

The woman gives him a nod. Yeah..... right. Thats the John and hooker rate. You look like a stand up kind of guy, and you know shot guns, $24.95 a night you stay a week I'll let you fuck one of the maids on the house!

Mike pulls his wallet out and and puts a $100 bill on the counter top. "That should hold the room for a few days."

The woman picks up the bill and looks at it in the light. Yeah...Right, room 114. She reaches behind her and pulls out a key. 114.

Her sanctuary, he private domain... her home. It stood proudly in a line of clones, a beacon in beautiful red standing out amongst the run down browns and blacks. She seemed like the only one in this town to take pride in their possessions.

She entered it, hung up her jacket and slipped the dress off, throwing it over the banister. There was nothing like wandering around the house in just underwear.

A quick bite, a long shower and another stiff drink later, she was curling up in bed. Oddly enough, the man she met popped into her head. A private detective, well they could certainly use someone who was as dedicated as she was. It was getting tiresome dragging the force along like a small child having a tantrum. She wondered what he was doing now...

Room 114

To say the Hole in the Wall Inn was 'shithole" is not far from the mark. Mike had stayed in a lot of cheap places. His need to play the poor traveler precluded staying in the finest lodgings. Mike looked around the room. Next time I'll look for a motel 6

He lookes at the bed and debates sleeping on the floor. Then looked at the rug and changed his mind. He opens the door and returns to his Ford. He pulls one of his three bags out of the trunk. Carries it into the room and plops it on the night stand. Takes off his jacket and places it over the back of a chair. The cheap looking jacket had made his tailor cry. MR. Future you can't walk down Worth Ave in a jacket that looks like you got it off the rack at a Goodwill store "Bruno, I wear Armani and Rolex on Worth Avenue. In middle America I wear off the rack....Goodwill and Adi."

He takes off his double rig matching Colt 45 APC model 1911's and hangs it from the bed post. I think I'll sleep in my clothes tonight He kicks off his shoes(Walmart specials). And lays down on the bed.

In his mind he runs though his mind what he has to do tomarrow.
1)police station
2)find out more about Lexy
3)find a decent place to eat
4)buy new socks
5)......get a sleeping bag.

The electric rythems of Bob Dylan throbbed Lexy's house as she danced around the kitchen. Her hips swayed in just a Turquoise and black lace thong and matching bra. Her morning routine never changed, it got her up in the morning, some music and a dance and some cereal.

After a quick shower, and pulling on a simple outfit of black jeans, black unbuttoned shirt and a red tanktop, she grabbed her bag and left the house, driving to the station.

The building was a mess, much like the handful of officers managing it. Fat, lazy and stupid. She nodded politely to anyone she passed, and went to sit in her office with a sigh. Paperwork was a Bitch.

Mrs. Mary Baxter-Packard

Mike woke with a start. Where was he? He looks around and frowns...the shit hole! The Lake Side Case. Or was it? Sure the lead is here. But does it end here? This case had started with a woman that had walked in to his office in Palm Beach. Her sister was missing. Globe trotting around the world looking for one woman takes its toll on a man. A little known family member here in Lake Side could hold the key to what was going on.

He gets up off the bed and slips into his shoes. He walks into the bathroom. He looks at the shower. Do I take a chance? He looks at the shower head closely. The build up around the pipes and sprayer makes him shiver. No not again. Pass on the shower. Don't drink the water! Check for bite marks. Take your shots.

International travel had taught him a lot. Even when you think it is safe, it may not be. Mike takes care of his business, looks his body over for flea bites and finds none. He changes in to new clothes from his bag. Takes his injections and soon feels better.

He cleans up his room and carries his bag back out to the Ford. Its a fine day, sun is out the breeze is light and from the the west. he smiles and looks around. Always be ready! That is what he has been taught. Always be ready. How true that is.

He starts the Ford and pulls out of the parking area. After a few miles signs of life start to appear. He comes to a sign LAKE SIDE founded 1848, POP 2853, ELEV 1800. Cool. Welcome to the foot hills. Just around the bend he finds the town center. He drive around the green and parks.

Arcoss the street is a cafe. TONY"S, AMERICAN FOOD FOR AMERICANS WORKERS. Mike smiles, Tony would hate Palm Beach. Mike gets out of the car and looks across the green and spots the police station. He walks into Tony's. Orders a dozen doughnuts and a large cup of coffee. He wlks across the the green and walks into the police station.

He sees the desk officer and puts the box of doughnuts on the desk. he takes a sip of his coffee. The officer looks up at him. "YES?"
Mike reaches inside his jacket and pulls out his badge. "I'm a private detective from Florida. I'm here on a missing persons case. The missing person is Mrs. Mary Baxter-Packard. She has a half sister, Selma Martin-Harris or you may know her as Selma Brown. Selma Martin-Harris is wanted by Interpole. I was hired to find Mary.

"Uh, yeah .. sure.." the desk officer stair greedily at the doughnuts...

Even from her office, she could hear the voices floating through station about doughnuts being offered at the front desk. She had to fight tooth and nail to get information about cases from her collegues, but doughnuts.....

She usually had a good view of the front desk from her office door, but she couldn't quite see who it was through the massing cops, eagerly grabbing at the proffered treat. Finally she saw him and she smiled.. "Well well."

She returned to her desk, picking up the phone and buzzing through to the front desk. "I'll deal with it Sam, send him through."

The officer, between mouthfuls of doughnut, pointed him to the door he should be able to see towards the back of the building, thanking him again for his sugary buns.

the client

The desk officer pointed to the rear end of the building. Through the thinning crowd of officers he could see her. He walks back to her office as she point to a chair.

"First, before you begin. I have to tell you two things....one, this is a very complicated case. Its an international case with a lot of wealthy people involved. My clients, who I would rather not name right now, were on vaction in Palm Beach. When they got word that the missing person, one Mary Baxter-Packard had been overseas and was scheduled to return and did not. Her family is concerned. It is thought that she may have come here to see her half sister Selma. I flew to where Mary was last seen. That is where I fond out about Selma and flew back to my office. I needed time to think thats why I drove. I thought about this case for two day while driving here. Going through it in my mind."

Mike pauses and smiles. And two....you look stunning in black and red...almost like a very sexy deadly spider.

She listened carefully. She'd have questions about the specifics shortly. There was a short silence as she pondered what he'd told her before continuing.

"Thankyou Mr Future, you are looking as scruffy as before." her lips curled into a smile. "Let me break it down for you. It seems to me that if you're going to get anywhere in this case, you'll need the resources of this department because trust me, even dressed as you are you stick out like a sore thumb. I have only three rules, and I expect you to follow them." She put on her serious face, punctuating each number with a firm tap on the desk,
"Number 1, you cut me in on everything you know, none of this secrecy bull-crap. If I'm going to stick my neck out for you, I want all the facts. Number 2, no hero antics ok? I dont need some lone-wolf block-head running straight into danger when backup is five minutes away." She didn't want to mention the backup wouldnt be worth the cars they pulled up in, but it didnt hurt to get the point across.
"And Number 3. You take a shower the first chance you get." She tried desperately to hide the smirk as she finished. "Do we have ourselves a deal?"

hepatitis A

"A deal? lets see, a shower? I checked the shower head in my room. If I use it a could catch hepatitis A. Can I use yours?" He pauses to let the question set in.

"Next, cutting you in on everything I know. Do we have enough time to teach you jungle warfar, 14 way to cook snake? I learned that in swams. Also Italian, German, Hebrew. The layout of the city of Moscow, Washington , New York, and 16 other major cities. The major air port designations for most of the planet. And that is just for starters." He smiles at Lex. I love being a smart ass

"AS for hero antics, I have two Colt 45s. When I run out of bullet, I stop shooting. And haul ass. If I need to reload...I need to hang up my guns. I'm a one shot one kill shooter. If there are more bad guys then I have rounds, don't worry, I'll wait for back up. Besides, even stupid people get lucky, or as my instructor told me, even a blind squirrel can find a nut in the woods!"

Such a wise-guy. As he reeled off his talents, she wondered where the hell this guy came from, and why he'd be working as a lowly P.I. She was suddenly aware this guy probably didn't need her help, but she thought she'd press at it anyway. She wouldnt work if there was the slightest doubt. Satisfied with the last answer she continued.

"I would say you could use the station facilities but I'm sure they're just as well maintained as your motel one so yes, you can." She replied cooly. "Now see here, You need me a hella' lot more than I need you, so I want all the facts of this case, or else you can hit the road again." She fell easily into the roll of superior, she'd been doing it since she joined this force 10 years ago. It took a lot of hard work to drill some respect into the chauvinist she worked with.

you need me? you want me?

"yes, you can" Ran through his head. Damn boy one shot one kill.Mike listened to Lexy continue on. Then mike had a thought. Need and want. She didn't say want she said need. She doesn't need me, its not her case, but she wants it to be. And true she is the local, I do need her. Well, I want her, this is interesting. Want and need.

Mike rubs his chin. "You want ALL the facts of this case?" Mike smiles and looks down at the floor. Do I fuck with her head....or turn her world upside down...over load her. "Nah!" he says.

He looks up and in to her eyes. "Look I grant you I can use your help. You know the people, you know the lay of the land. No problem!"Mike leans back in his chair.

"I have clients back in Florida that don't have any bearing on what happens here. I have informants all over the world that have no bearing on here. My contacts in Elat, have little bearing short of telling me that Selma is or was in Lake Side. What I need is information, what I want is your adress so I can take a shower!"

She sighed, clearly exasperated. "Fine, you don't want to tell me? Ok, we'll do it your way .. for now. But I don't give up that easily." She picked up the phone and pressed a speed dial. "Sam? Can you see what we have on a Miss Selma...." She glanced at him to fill in the missing name.

"A Miss Selma Brown or a Selma Martin-Harris Please, and have it on my desk when I get back, that'd be great." She put the phone down.

"Right, come on. We'll take my car as we'll be coming back here. She opened the door for him, and lead him out into the parking lot and to her little run around car. She spied his car and rolled her eyes. Just as she had predicted. "You've got style I see", she said slyly.

What?

"You've got style I see!" Lexy quips. " Yeah, roll down Worth Ave in a Chevy like this and a cop will pull you over for a suspicious vehicle check. Roll through with a Bently no one gives you a second look. This is comany car not mine. Besides it gets 36 mpg on the hyway and 32 in town."

They climbed into Lexy's Chevy and Mike smiles when it starts. He looks out the side window as she pulls out of the parking lot. After a few minutes he looks at her. "Germania Brownhousen is my client. She is married to an Austrian business man Otto Brownhousen he is paying the bills."

The road twisted and turned till they pulled into a subdivision of houses. They all looked the same. A planned community. Her's is red one in a wave of earth tones. "You like to stand out I see." He follows her to the front door. "You need to get some Insecticide to get rid of those brown spots in your grass."
She looks at him. "I know a few grounds keepers. There are 250 golf coarses in Palm Beach County. I don't live in Palm Beach, I just work there!"
