The Last Daughter of Krypton OOC

*shudder*

"I Can't Believe it's Not Butter?"

Snarky ad-guy punk-ass, you'd be surprised what I can believe!

(I may have to hit Lunar after all.

This talk of Green Rabbits is totally setting off one of my earliest memories, from when I was still in England. Children's book. They read it on a show on TV.

It was a toy rabbit that did mysterious things and I never got to see all of it. No, I'm sure it wasn't The Velveteen fellow. For one thing, I'm pretty sure it was green.

God, this is killing me. :: laughing :: I was like three or four at the time, so it's no surprise I can't remember. But I remember SuperTed and Rupert the Bear and Button Moon, why the crap can't I remember this?)

"'All the world will be your enemy,'" she recited softly, reverently, "'Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.'"

ok, this is on the tip of my brain. WHERE is that quote from M'Lady??

Watership Down. :: grins :: ...by Richard Adams.

You'll find a lot of Chloe's references in that passage are nods to Adams' first and greatest novel.

And I've got more Adams references prepped. I've got one for when Gar explains his origin story, and one if he ever turns into a bear.

(Of course, if he turns into a dolphin, I reserve the right to switch to Douglas Adams.)

thats what I thought.

(& it has been at least 20 years since I read that book, maybe 25)

My dad has an amazing scholarly voice, and when my sister and I were very young, shortly after we moved to America, he took to reading us stories. We bonded as a family over these stories, and every single one of them continues to have a special place in my heart.

He read us The Lord of The Rings.

He read us The Chronicles of Narnia.

And he read us Watership Down.

Even the animated movie isn't too terribly bad.

Saw a movie once that reminded me some bit of Watership Down.

Ever heard/seen "The Secret of Nimh"?

Love begins this way
Loving starts when open hearts
Touch and stay
Sleep for now
Dreaming's how
Lovers lives are planned.

:) That's right, Tears.

Excellent movie.

Oh, did Kara notice how so very similar the faded/ancient Runes on Blake's stick are to the written Kryptonian language?

I am just kinda suprised everyone missed Kyles eyes.

dumbass kid mistake.

my midget is deep into the superhero movies now, tho if his mom lets me get him early this weekend I think we may have a Tolkien movie weekend.

No, but then again Kara really hasn't had much time to study her own language. I'm sure she might notice some similarities if she looks hard enough.

Rose is a little bit used to them.

They're her very favourite colour of bio-luminescence.

She forgets, bless her, with her odd little brain, that not everyone is as used to them as she is.

Don't forget that purple eyes are a perfectly natural-- if not exactly commonplace --genetic mutation in the real world. Don Blake may know this as a doctor, and may attribute the eye-shine to reflections from sunlight shafting down from the clouds?

But then again...

Don Blake is not the only one who sees through those eyes.

Am I right, Amen? :cattail:

Aye, it is thus.

I'm sure there are no hammer-throwings at Wraith.

But don't expect Thor to greet him with tea and a smoking jacket, either.

He is, after all, a demon.

I'm sure the Thunder God will warm up to him, eventually.

It'll be fun.

Just think of all the hippie jokes.

Right.

I know.

But, well, you know Thor...I mean...everything is pretty much black and white for him. If it looks like a duck......

Ol' Thor will come around...I'm sure Ceri will put him straight about who the demons are.
