In the interest of the humpback whales...you have to account for water density and salinity factors to hear what the probe sounds like under water.

History: Ayla has always been one of the background "cool kids" at Smallville public schools. Her family moved in shortly after the first meteor strike. As the years went by Ayla's parents Garth and Imra discovered many differences and parted ways. Imra leaving Smallville for the West Coast and Hollywood.
Raised by her spoiling father Ayla's never wanted for anything. The child support payments made sure of that.
She had been out swimming at Meteor Lake when the most recent shower hit and had too many close encounters with the rocks for her own good. Her "bad" luck continued as this most recent weather anomoly came to town. The huge lightning storm had several hits to the ground. Ayla was ground zero of one of them. To her surprise she stood up from where she fell, crackling with electricity.
The storm seems to have ceased but Ayla's newfound gifts have yet to be fully explored and boy does she plan on exploring them.
Powers: Ayla has the ability to convert her body into electricity. She can use this to fly. Ayla is also capable of throwing Lightning/electric bursts. She can control the amperage of these blasts to either act as a taser or to hit with the amperage to kill an elephant. As she explores them more she will find an ability to short out electronic devices. No subtlty to it, she will fry them. Simple electric machinery will eventually become her playthings. As wiil forms of electrical transmission. Someday she will determine that she can travel electrical lines.
