Well hopefully he will not be able to do much on your last day this week, and then will forget about it by the time you come back.

Slips over to frisk an elf as she slips in, then kisses and nibbles her ear before he goes back to sit down.

I'm very excited to see what Jessie is like. That tattoo is fantastic... her whole demeanor will just be a good read and I know you'll do it wonderfully. Whoo!

Cheeks flush crimson...

Too kind, gorgeous...

Sadly, he won't forget. Because its set in iron on the schedule. I have my weekend off. But near the end of the month...I'm late stay on a Thursday, On call Friday...Saturday...Sunday...and then Memorial day Monday...Trust me. That is shitty lol

Oh, I can imagine. Do you find that you have more cases on holiday weekends?

Our volume has been increasing lately. So I'm really not sure :-( But knowing my luck, I'll be called in every day that weekend lol

I just wondered because they say that is true of the ER, but I wasn't sure how it would affect your department.

*Puts my palms against the wall, assuming 'the position'.* I swear I have a permit to carry that. And that. And that too. ;) :D

Chuckles. Oh, some of those weapons seem extremely deadly. You'll have to show me all your paperwork, sometime. And then prove that you are trained in their use. Smirks.

Well, it is Memorial Day, which is when a lot of pools open. People are, on the whole, stupid and don't listen to lifeguards when they say

"Hey! Don't dive!"

I know...I was one.

They then ponder why they end up in the ER with cervical spine fractures....of which...I am needed for lol.

looking in first so as not to rn over anyboy. Raven sprints in to the room, to try out the new Slip-n-slide. Sliping in to say hi to every one.
Raven, thank you, what a nice thing to say. It really made me feel good today.

It is a distenct privlage to know I made your day any better. The plesure is all mine. Bows to the lovely Thyri.

*Grins* I think I could do that.

Ah, that makes sense then. Well, I hope it's a quiet weekend for you. It still sucks that you have to be on call for it though.

My job has been similarly busy to the point that we have not been allowed to take vacation time. They even hired a new designer to help with the workload. The thing is, they have instituted a policy that we cannot carry our vacation time over, it must be used. But then they won't let us use it because we're too busy. The only day off I've had other than weekends was the day I closed on this property I bought. But when it's ready to move into, I'm putting in for time off.

Aww sugar. I know how that feels. I was just informed today that they are cutting our over time. But still expecting us to do the same amount of work, essentially. Hospitals all around the country are suffering hardcore because of new healthcare policies. Basically, costs to run a hospital are rising and the amount hospitals are allowed to charge for procedures is dropping. A lot of small hospitals are not going to make it. My hospital has to trim 79 million dollars of fat.

Oh wow! And O care hasn't even fully kicked in yet. I bet that will have quite an impact too from what I've read. I wonder how long until it starts to affect quality of care. I know that is exactly what happened under military health care when my husband was in the Army. You really do get what you pay for.

Nods, watching her as she hops up onto the counter, his eyes sliding down to glance at her legs and then back up to her face. He keeps a smirk on his face. Well I promise to keep that mind, if I have book questions. But I have a few of my own literary references that I'm comfortable using. If I need to borrow anything, though, he narrows his eyes at her playfully, I'll be sure to let you know.

And I'm sure it won't be overdone. I've found your writing to be generally enjoyable, from what I'm read of your posts. But a favorite thread of mine?
Ponders. I don't know that I have a favorite. I have a few old favorites posted. There were some other stories I was writing that would have been awesome if they had lasted long enough. Sadly, some of my favorites have gotten cut short.

That's what's embittered me about group threads, to some extent. We were going to do this George R. R. Martin group thread a while back. We had 8 fantastic authors. I had a detailed character sheet, I had extensive notes about background information relating to my character, and relating to ancillary characters connected to him. I had a short biography of his father in my notes, I'd named his horse, and I had an extensive psychological motivation for him. And I probably only got three posts finished before that thread died.
Laughs bitterly. But if you want to read some of my old threads, they're available for perusing. Nods.

smiles shyly and ducks her head.

Well, good. I'm swell at helping. I'm sure your literary references suit your purposes quite well. And thank you, for the compliment - I'm glad it's enjoyable although for the most part that's not my aim. I try to challenge myself and I've been lucky enough to have co-writers who share that same goal, and keep me on my toes. :)

I've read through a few of your old threads, and nice! I'm sure you'll continue producing good threads. :)

As for group pieces, I find them quite enjoyable - or, I've found the two that I'm currently writing in to be great. Revival is my favorite thread and that's due to Ruffles being a master plotter, along with some fantastic people writing it. It's really a great story. I do think he has the right of it by seriously plotting the story and not allowing it to veer off course, that way the story can't die.

Smiles and leans into the hug slightly and turns, nodding at her with a wink. Any time, darlin'.

I very well recognized the sentiment
Smirks. Hope you are doing well.

*sifts back in for a moment*

Doing very well, thanks. I hope you had a decent day yourself.

*sighs* I was a sad panda when we lost that thread. It had such potential. I was so looking forward to us writing together on that one. I still haven't caught up on all the books yet. *has the grace to look ashamed for a sec or two* But I am working on it and of course, I keep up with the HBO series. Losing that thread soured me on group threads too along with the one I was going to do with CT and FD. I don't even consider them anymore.

Hah. I'm glad someone else remembers it. I was excited since most of the writers were Loungers, so I figured we'd do well with the people we had in place. It's perhaps stupid that I'm still sad about losing that one since it was close to two years ago, but I had more details related to that character than anyone else I've ever written. I practically had decision making flowcharts, since I was not as directly in control of the story as I am in a straight two-person thread.

I hate to say it but your wrong. soilders pay with our bodies and our lives and we get crap for health care. I have and I know others that have been turned away from ER's on post. hell a lot of the training baces close their hospitals most of the year.

Yes, you misunderstood me. When my husband was alive, civilian friends and neighbors, even family members all would tell us how 'lucky' we were to have free medical care through the Army. But our experience, typical of many service members and their families, was that the medical care left a whole lot to be desired. I swear the government owns stock in Motrin, because that was their answer for everything on the base clinic. Got a broken ankle? Here have a prescription for Motrin. Gastro Ulcer? Here, have some Motrin. STD's? Motrin!

It was ridiculous.

I don't know that I've ever taken Motrin.

The clinic at my university loves handing that stuff out as well. Got a cold-Motrin for headaches. Break something? Here ya go, lots of Motrin for the pain. Shrugs. Maybe it's just sufficiently cheap?

That's interesting, my brother is in the Navy and he says that it's crappy, but he's at the front of the line, always.

Course he liked the care he got in Japan better than the doctors here. But that's another story altogether.
