The moon

We don't even know for sure what the center of the earth looks like. There are theories.
It's a molten lava core with iron and nickel center.
We don't have photos because it's a little hot, but we know what it likely looks like as the material has been photographed elsewhere. And we know the physical properties.

They are theories unless you've actually been there. :)

Did Ronald Reagan actually exist or was his Presidency just an elaborate hoax?
I never saw him in person. He went to college around here. I've seen pictures. Lol. The atom used to be considered the smallest particle of matter. :)

I guess you don't believe the data scientists gathered on that subject. Science denier. Lol. :)
The science says the moon is solid all the way through. It “rang” because it doesn’t have a molten core or oceans to dampen the vibrations.

The moon’s gravity is 1/6 that of earth which consistent with it being solid all the way through. I’m curious how the hollow moon theorists account for the moon’s gravity being so high.

I think you just say that it's hollow and so then it is

And also throw things in there about how theories aren't facts and such.

The physics that keeps the one side of the moon facing the earth as it rotates on its axis and as it revolves around the earth as they both orbit the sun seems remarkable to me, tho science says no. It just took millions of years to achieve. :)

The Moon is less dense than the Earth which is consistent with it having been formed by a massive collision in the early solar system. Earth’s heavy nickel-icon core survived the impact, while the “splash” of lighter rocks coalesced into the Moon and Earth’s crust.

Another neat REAL SCIENCE FACT: For objects like the moon to achieve a nice round shape, they must have enough mass / gravity to form into that shape. A “hollow moon” would not allow for that.

😳

(Oh yeah, I forgot: “The moon is actually a mega-structure built by a race of super-technologically advanced aliens about 4.5 billion years ago…” - undoubtedly the ancestors of Elon Musk…)

😑

We. Told. Them. So.

The Moon is tidally locked to Earth. Physics explains how it happened. The moon was initially rotating when it was formed by a massive collision billions of years ago, but over time the Earth’s tug on the “near” side was stronger (because it was closer) and that drag slowed the rotation to a stop.

The moon actually rotates.

Yes, the Moon does rotate, but it rotates at the same rate that it orbits the Earth, which is why we always see the same side facing us. This phenomenon is known as synchronous rotation.

👍

A structurally a hollow moon can be modeled as two 2000-mile diameter domes stuck together.

No material exists to build a dome that big, even with 1/6 earth gravity. Positing a hollow moon quickly leads you off into an engineering fantasyland.
