What?!? That isn't you in your avatar? :p

What, do you think I'd ever put up a nip slip avatar of myself? I'm too much of a prude for that. ;)

And since you brought it up, the lady is Barbara Strozzi, one of the few successfull female baroque composers. I'm rather jealous of that viola da gamba she's fondling, it's one beautiful mast of creation of pretty tunes.

I get it! No wonder she has her boobs out, what with that sweet mast of creation in the room :D
Ok, in all seriousness it took me a few moments to stop laughing so I could examine that properly... have always wondered who she was! :)

I am feeling...vaguely depressed.

More sleep and more exercise might be in order.

She's one saucy minx, that's all you need to know about her. Rawr! And that she's a composer. :p

Okay. Apparently I just needed to go back and read this little exchange. No longer vaguely depressed.

I'm laughing too hard. :D

I'd make a mast of creation joke, but don't think I could compete with what's already up.... :D

Too late! I already read up on her :) Interesting life. I do love that she made her own way later in life with no known financial support in that day and age... Adding her to my list of heroines!

Hooray! My accomplishment for the day :p

Dream premonitions are creepy. Even when it's about something very trivial.

One of my nurses was telling me she had a horrible dream about one of the patients and she almost called me to tell me that I NEEDED to run to the clinic after hours to check on it.

Wisely, she did not.

Is anyone else here on Elliquy btw? I joined a couple weeks ago. It's a... weird place.

I hadn't heard of elliquiy until you mentioned it here. From what I can see on the home page without joining, it appears to be mostly about role-playing. What do you find weird about it?

Just the people there and how it's set up, mostly. I got approved recently and I've been trying to find a RP partner or two and idk. The setup is a little frustrating.

Also lol people's ideas of BDSM are kind of hilarious there too.

I get the impression that a good majority of the people at the new day job are not only geek friendly but kink friendly as well. One highlight came from a girl talking about bringing 50 Shades in to read between calls and the TL replying with "That is not BDSM and he is not a dom, he's just an ass"

I've been finding more and more of my tribe lately.

You too?

I don't even remember my dreams, mostly-- a fact that I am pretty happy about. This one was kind of big premonition-sized. It should take its premonitions and DIAF.

Oh no, is that what they are?
Because I dreamed my cat was covered in snails...
Maybe I should just get her a snail collar right now! :D

Perhaps that would be wise. :D

The dream I had happened a couple of days later. When I told Mister about the dream he said what he always says, "you're weird."

A couple days later when it happened he leaned over and said, "What the hell is with you and predicting things in your dreams? You're so weird."

Ah, it's good everything was ok. I once stopped a suicide because I dreamed about a friend's funeral parade. It was weird, in the dream he committed suicide and we had a big parade for him. He never once mentioned to anyone he was suicidal, and freaked out when I asked him. Turns out, he was contemplating killing himself if his friend didn't make it out of critical condition. We had a long talk.

I don't know if they're telling me anything until it happens later. I have a lot of dreams that are just dreams. :p Some really weird shit, too. There are some that I would rather not remember when I wake up.

This premonition stuff could all be coincidence. I don't really know what to make of it. I'm a weirdo for sure.

I started struggling with anxiety attacks about 10 years ago, except the triggers are always a sense of dejavu - XYZ is happening in real life, that is somehow part of a dream that I've had (but don't remember when I wake up). I've learned to look at it from the "outside", and just say 'huh... this feels like something from a bad dream, but that's just coincidence; it doesn't mean anything." Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. It's gotten easier, the longer I've dealt with it, but it still creeps me out.

(Like yesterday, when I realized I was dealing with a client situation that I'd dreamed about two years ago, right down to the client's requests - before I ever had any idea, expectation, or reason to work where I am now, which was a client situation that couldn't have happened anywhere else.)

Completely not as intense.. I had another snail dream.
They had horns, and they zipped around head butting stuff
I'm buying fluffy, sheepskin tricked out slippers as a precaution.
Expensive ones :D God I love rationalizing!

Typo :( grrrrrr

I wonder if we've got that "women's intuition" thing working for us. :p

It's very creepy, indeed.

Garlicky butter sauce works well, too.

Yeah, my premonition dream got it's truthness on; beginning Friday night, my mother began passing. it's a matter of hours, or day, perhaps two. I'm on the first shift, keeping her comfortable which she does seem to be.

I am only sad a little. She's had a very good life, she's leaving behind a hella body of work, and she hasn't been able to paint for about four months, which was the measure of her joy. :rose::rose:

I'm sorry, Stella. :rose:

I've been working the vampire shift for a little extra cash and now have the chance to be back in the land of the living but lose the bonus. Hmmm, choices, choices.

I never have anything decent to say for stuff like this.
