<snip>

My mother is only 62.

All I could say when she finished telling me about it was "Good Lord, how are you still walking?"

True story: a woman I know is an ultra-marathoner. That means that she has run over 50 races where each one was 100 miles long or longer! She told a story about the aftermath of one of those races recently, in which the star was a fellow in his early 60s who had just finished a 105-mile long race in Florida. He told her that that would be his last race for a while because he was going in for a knee replacement within a few days. Apparently he had been running with a knee that has NO cartilage for a couple of years and decided it's finally time to strap on a new one. She asked how he managed the pain of running for 12 hours with a knee that was bone-on-bone. His answer: "I take a couple of Advil before I start and that's usually enough." Some people are pretty damned amazing.

If you really felt the way that you do then you wouldn't be spreading it on Facebook and responding with this whole "oh poor me" attitude.

Grow the fuck up.

Not everyone will like you. People will fuck you over. Not everyone will accept you.

You can't be monogamous and have both a live in boyfriend and a girlfriend on the side. And if you really don't care what people think of you being bisexual, you wouldn't make such a huge deal about you being bisexual and people either "except it or leave you alone"

You don't want to move past your issues, you want attention. Be a fucking grown up and say that you need attention. Stop with this "oh I'm so damaged" bull shit and either make moves to make yourself better or shut the fuck up.

I was bone on bone in both knees for 2 years, still under 50, and had to BEG for knee replacements! A couple Advil??? I was working up a serious Tramadol/Oxy diet til a few weeks after surgery. I got shiny new knees 8 weeks apart in 2009. Master went from having to slow down to stay with me to realizing he had to work to keep up! :D

I'm going to ask for good vibes, etc. now. Master has COPD (quit smoking over a year ago, hooray!) and has been having a rough time the last few weeks. He'll probably scold me for even posting this, but I've been worried about him. He was even willing to let me drag him to the doctor's today. We're not entirely sure what's going on yet. This is not the kind of heavy breathing I want to hear from him. :(

Fingers crossed and good thoughts for both of you. My granny had COPD, and I remember all the things she went through well, bless her. :rose:

I had a friend in the medical field tell me... There are two kinds of diseases. One takes you to the grave, and you take the other to the grave. COPD was the latter, according to him. It's VERY manageable, as long as he keeps in touch with his body, goes in for treatments or emergencies when he has them, and barring unforeseen complications. Just make sure he behaves himself as directed :p

:D I'm working on it. "Behave" is a foreign term to him. Most of the time I don't really mind. ;)

>.< So I'm totally hanging out here because I'm drained and don't want to go through another round of cleaning. I love a clean house and anyone that knows me is aware that I'm a little neurotic about it. I'm just not sleeping very well and getting more and more tired each day that I do all the floors and rewash all of the linens and pillows. I'd very much like to finally relax and enjoy the cleanliness with tea cakes and hot tea. Mmm... moon cakes... I think I know what I'll get myself for a reward. Maybe some daifuku...

Tonight at the grocery I saw a little old man put brussel sprouts in his pockets.
For a moment I considered informing management but I didn't.
I'm at peace with that decision.
What I am not at peace with is that something led him to feel the need to do that. There is no way for me to know his circumstances and yet they haunt me.

You married a beer?
And here you had me thinking he was a real man this entire time... :p

Beer is the only reliable man. :p

Actually, I was feeling pretty worn out last night. While he was making pizza he brought out an ice cold glass of beer for me. :D I'm pretty easy to please.

Mmm beer so good!

Well that bbq took an interesting turn...around 3am everyone apparently decided to watch the hosts have sex. which eventual devolved into 2 pairs having sex and me and my partner fooling around in the corner (I was bleeding and did not want to ruin linens that did not belong to me) while a lesbian watched with a naturalist's fascination and ran questioning commentary....

I'm not exactly sure how we got there, but all in all a fun turn of events. Would have been more fun if not for my damn uterus xD

Not sure how you got there?
I'm guessing alcohol was involved :D

At 2 am this morning, a bird started singing loudly outside the bedroom window. Yep - 2 am. Not twilight and certainly not dawn.

Later today, hubby was looking out of the window and saw a flock of birds flying past - a flock of pigeons with a blackbird in the middle. I bet it's the same damn bird

plenty of alcohol for SOME people. but like, I was stone-cold sober (backpain early in the bbq meant I didn't drink more than a couple beers) and the lesbian-naturalist hadn't had a drop.

In hindsight, looking at the evening, I think it was fairly inevitable that some degree of shenanigans was inevitable. Just surprised EVERYONE had shenanigans xD

A jar broke.

I've never broken a jar.

To my knowledge my mother has never broken a jar.

And the soup looked so good.
