"Homecoming" is a peculiarly American ritual among high schools and colleges where alumni return to campus for a day (and usually a football game), wander around looking at how the place has changed (or not) and meeting old classmates. There will be a dance and one of the current upper grade coeds will be elected Homecoming Queen. It's a combination beauty/popularity contest. I have no idea what the roots of the thing are.

My condolences on losing the beach. The last three hurricanes here have pretty much washed away the part of the beach that was our nude beach. Not an official one but a place that had been used that way for forty years.
I have my seven foot fence around my backyard and my sundeck in the middle of it. You would be surprised how many 'guests' I get every year.

My neighbours' houses all look over my back yard. I think that the last nudist in my garden was my little grand-daughter; she was about 3, I think.

That's why my central heating bill is a bit higher than most
I have a similar thing - so we installed a retractable awning on our deck, along with retractable side-curtains, so we could at least sit on our deck without the neighbors seeing us.
When we (eventually) sell-up and move to a smaller place in retirement, our next house will have a 100% private back yard!
