Yeah, it was up a few hours ago and now its gone. Luckily for me I got to experience it in that brief brief window.

The controversial aspects of the story were probably overlooked in the review process. Easy to happen with a 750 word epic which mentions the most controverial government agency in America only twice in the title.

That was my read as well. The whole thing was over the top and exaggerated, probably to rile up the usual denizens of LW comment sections. It derived its humor from the absurdity of the situation and the pathetic main character.
