The Official Fashion Fairy Thread

I'm curious... Are there any people here who are particularly loyal to a certain brand? Not necessarily because of the brand. But because you like their fit or their style?

Personally, a lot of my wardrobe comes from Old Navy. I'm a petite gal, and with some brands, I find that I'm still swimming in a S or XS. Not so with Old Navy. Plus, their clothing is reasonably priced, and I don't feel like I have to spend a fortune to look nice.

We REFUSE to buy Abercrombie & Fitch. My daughter and I are not large, but we often need an XXL in juniors clothing. We are very tall, especially her. A&F declared publicly that they won't carry that size because the don't want fat girls advertising for them. Well, motherfucker, you just isolated any girl over 5'10". Tall girls wear larger sizes. And, besides that, what the fuck??? I wish everyone would stop buying their overpriced crap.

Hollister is nice, though. They sell jeans with inseams so we can buy an 11 with a 33 inch inseam. Their jeans are pricy but very flattering.

I don't wear A&F either, but not necessarily because I am a big guy. Mainly because I am not a douchebag. :)

I have like three brands to whom I am extremely loyal. Their sizing on certain clothing is super consistent. I don't have to try anything on. I just buy it and I'm on my way.

Brooks Brothers is the first. Oh man. Their stuff is super nice. Consistent, as well. I bought six shirts of theirs the other night and didn't think once about trying it on. Plus, their wrinkle free shirts have a crease in them that never goes away over time. They always look starched and never wrinkle. They are the only brand I have found that actually works for wrinkle free. I probably have 25 or 30 of their dress shirts.

Polo is another. I love the way their pants fit. However, I always have to try them on. Some pairs are made for men with dicks. Some are made for those without. I prefer the pants made for those with dicks, as dick bigger jeans are not flattering.

Daniel Cremieux is a pretty unknown brand, but I have so many of their pants. They are wonderful. Consistent, as I said. It would be embarrassing to admit how many pants of theirs I own.

Hugo Boss. I don't own a load of their stuff, as it is pricey. But for Ties and some suit jackets, I can't go wrong with them.

I do believe we just received 4 for the price of 3.

A Glimmerwinks Special Bonus!

I believe a similar special can be found at a selected tire retailer near you, should you need to swap your summer slicks for some grippy winter tread.

Guess I am rather mundane daily wear Dickies work jeans ,Wolverine boots and a work shirt ,and when not at work the same just a different shirt .It keeps My wardrobe simple and the closet uncluttered

Dearest Distiguished Fairy of Fashion,

What are your thoughts on Affliction T-shirts? Particularly those with the silver or gold sparkly bits.

Also, while I have your ear bent, is there a brand of shoe and clothing that one should wear to the gym that says "I'm here for a damn good workout, but will be enjoying the finer things that life has to offer after my workout."

First, my apologies for being The AWOL Fashion Fairy.

Second, great question. I place Affliction up there with Ed Hardy, except worse. It looks like a skull threw up over every Affliction tee I have ever seen. Poke my ass with a hot metal rod I hate those shirts. They just scream "I'm going through a mid-life crisis and I use steroids and wear ugly shirts. Oh, and I have the clap." I've yet to see someone pull off an Affliction tee.

Workout clothes... Another great question. I always recommend showering after a good workout. Not to brag (okay, just a little), but I have an endorsement from a certain athletic manufacturer, so I can really wear only one brand, unless it is something not made by this company. With that said, I really like Puma and Adidas. I think their stuff is nice looking. I actually really like Puma's line of golfing pants, even though I do not golf. But some of their golf shirts would make great workout clothes, all while letting people know you might be enjoying some fine music afterwards.

Dear Fashion Fairy,

What do you think about gen pop wearing chef's pants as everyday pants?

Signed,
Concerned Friend

It depends... Are they classy and cool like the kind I wear? :D

They are.... strange, like the kind you wear.

You mean stylish and sexy. Then, if that is the case, absolutely acceptable. Perfect, even.

The vest does look quite fetching on that young lady, but what is she staring at in her drawers with that slightly perplexed expression? Is something looking back at her? Did she lose her keys? Rogue tampon? What???

Perhaps she is wondering where she can get some comfy, matching, and equally stimulating denim ginch.

Perhaps her virginity has been misplaced from all the crazy sex she has been having with her many blue-jean-vest-lovin' gentlemen callers.

Maybe Molly Ringwald called and asked if she found the sixteenth candle yet.

Maybe it has something to do with the re- / un-birthing pmann referenced above. A wee wiggle in the folds...

Maybe, she sure don't have pockets.

But she looks more like one of those "rode in on the back of a motorbike" kinda girls.

Maybe she is just letting in some of that draft from that open window behind her under the waistband, cooling down the jay.
