I heard once from a friend of mine who attended a convention in New York that an industry vendor got into all kinds of trouble when he plugged in a piece of equipment without calling a union electrician to do it for him.
LOL, it was probably at the Javits Center and yes, those stories are absolutely true.
I know someone who had the same trouble for changing a lightbulb.
The worst part is that the unions get the politicians they have paid off to pass or include parts of legislation almost in the middle of the night.
