The Outlook

*He watched her shiver a few times before and after she'd stood. He rose to join her, nodding and scooping up the lantern. He saw the same emotions in her eyes...the longing, the want, the craving. Those things would have to be sated later...but when they were....he shook his head, dusting a few stray remnants of sand from his pants.*

You're right. Wouldn't want them to worry about us...

*He chuckled at the thought of what people would ask the following day. He smiled broadly at the thought of his response.

Taking her hand and squeezing gently, they strode back to the Outlook, the tides retreating as they made their way slowly back to the steps, climbing them equally slow. He walked her to her room, leaving her with a gentle kiss on her forehead and a smile full of promise*

Goodnight Kay. Sleep well.

She walked at his side, closer than when they first began walking hours before. She tried to leach his warmth but, of course, he was like walking beside a stove that was left on. It was a comfortable warm, and it kept her satisfied until they entered the Outlook where they were both encased in a much more temperate environment.

She lingered at her doorway after receiving a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Good Night, Sir." She said with a big grin. "Pleasant Dreams."

She watched him until he left her sight then sighed a little in a romantic sort of way. She turned to open the door to her room she had slept in the night before and threw herself on the bed. She was giddy again and flush, but it wasn't because she was feeling shy. She glanced back at the door and stood, closing it behind her, and undressed for the evening. She'd take a short 'nap' after such a long amount of sleep and probably get up, run some errands... it'd be fun to see what her friends would say after hearing about her and his encounter tonight. Brilliant, even. She giggled to herself and laid down on the bed.

Indeed, it was a night to remember for shy little Kay.

It was still early, a mist rolling off the ocean, a lone figure was on the shore, dressed again in black leggings, bare footed and a black tank top. A delicate band of leather crossed her forehead and disappeared behind her braid. Twin blades, were strapped to her back. She stood there, head bowed as she let the sound of the ocean move over her.

In one swift movement, both blades were drawn and brandished. Both blades were made from Adamant. Both etched down one side with Elven runes. When the swords had cleared their sheaths the runes briefly glowed and then faded. For one moment, the red head stood there, head bowed before snapping up and her swinging sword hand came flashing up in an upward diagonal, from her left hip to right shoulder and even as that blade followed through, her offhand came slashing down on a swift, deadly manner from the right shoulder to left hip of an unseen opponent. She advanced with decisive steps, lashing out with her foot. In the blink of an eye, both blades formed a cross before her then pressed upward as if fending off the jab of a sword. In a backhanded move her sword hand moved horizontally chest high and she turned on her foot, swiftly bringing her offhand down in an arc. Her sword arm came up again in an overhand manner slicing down viciously.

Continually, woman and blades worked in harmony to only the sounds that nature provided, her own breathing and heartbeat. Silently, she worked, focused. The blades flashed through the air, touched by light and reflecting it. It was still too early for sunlight even as the false dawn was giving away to the truthful one. An hour, maybe two, passed before she was satisfied. Swords were sheathed on her back once more and without a look back, right or left, she started to run down the beach for home to shower and start her day.

Wearing shorts and a tee shirt, she reappeared in the Outlook, ordered an cup of coffee and moved to stand at a rail, enjoying the view before her, lost in her thoughts.

She woke up from her five hour nap and sighed blissfully. She got up and stretched, then removed her dress from the night before, placing it neatly in a nearby clothing basket. She went to the closet again and picked out a red sweater dress, then turned back to the dresser to get under clothing, including a pair of Capri-cut black leggings.

She swiftly walked through the bathroom and climbed into the shower where she took little time to bathe: if she stood in there and thought about things that transpired last night it would prove dangerous, her mind would wander. She exited the shower, clean and fresh, and wrapped a towel around her. Standing in front of the mirror for a time, she began pulling the little braided strands of her extensions out. She set them down neatly, all different lengths then turned toward the bedroom. She rustled through the drawers again to find a small bag in which she could place her false hair.

Allowing the towel to fall from her body, she began dressing: panties, bra, leggings, dress, then belt. She looked in the mirror at herself and smiled a little. It was a bit out of season, sweater dresses, but she liked they way they looked on her all the same. And red was definitely her color. As she wandered out of the bedroom and into the lounge area of the Outlook she glanced around. She blushed a little as she spotted Cait; she waving at her pleasantly and made her way to the bar where she asked for a mocha iced coffee... she wasn't a fan of hot drinks.

Gathering her cup again, she glanced up, waving leisurely at Kay before returning to the view that she never gets tired of.

She smiled and took her coffee to the nearest comfortable chair. She glanced towards the entrance of the Outlook, then back behind her where the bedrooms were. Where did he go last night? she wondered. She blushed a little and sipped her coffee.

Finishing her coffee, she handed the empty mug to a passing waiter and took the steps down to the beach at an easy run. At the bottom of the stairs, she paused long enough to remove her sandals, setting them out of the way then walked down to the shore. Always, her eyes on the horizon. Always looking out at the sea as if it had answers she wanted.

*A loud yawn and the popping of joints signal his awakening. The night was kind to him in both sleep and the time before. He shakes the cobwebs of dreams from his thoughts, wiping at his eyes and pulling on simple shorts and an a-shirt. Wandering into the lounge, he sees good friends are already up and about*

Good morning, everyone.

*He gave a warm smile to everyone, but it did happen to linger on Kay for a moment longer before he went to the bar to grab something cool to drink*

Turning eyes from the sea, I watch where my feet are walking, leaving, I know, footprints in the sand, but those footprints will shortly be no more as the water rushes up upon sand, making them as if they never were. How many footprints has the sea swallowed I wonder? My stroll is leisurely, my toes kicking up the water lightly as it rushes up around my toes.

*In passing, he notices Cait walking along the beach. She seems lost in contemplation, and this thought brings a smile to his lips. He seems to be doing a lot of that lately...He settles into his usual lounge with a tall glass of lemonade in a frosty glass*

"Good Morning," she called back to him, a bright smile taking her face. She sipped her coffee as he smiled back at her and she blushed a little as he turned to grab a drink. It was good to see him again.

She placed her iced coffee on the table in front of her and picked at the hem of her skirt, trying to pull it down modestly. She glanced back at him as he took his place where he normally sat. She contemplated a moment, wondering if he wanted company just yet... she was never really the sort to come out from a good nights rest and start talking to people... she usually needed a few moments to get her faculties in order.

*Over the rim of his glass, he saw that Kay was toying with her dress in an effort to adjust the hem. What it ended up doing was drawing attention to the ending of the fabric and beginning of the leggings that emerged from beneath it. He brought his eyes up to hers; that shyness was still there, he doubted it would ever leave entirely, but that was fine. It was cute.*

So, Kay, what's on the agenda for today?

"Oh... uhm..." she bit her lip as she thought. "Its... Tuesday, right? Probably nothing." She shrugged and giggled. "I mean, I'm not needed anywhere at present... my parents usually inform me when they need to use me as slave labor." she giggled at her statement. "Guess it'll just be another lazy day here."

She grinned at the thought, and the possibility that she just opened the door to. She reached for her coffee and polished it off, patting her lips on her recently upturned sleeve.

"How about you? Anything planned?" she asked quietly, as if she were trying to keep a secret for the both of them.

She headed back to the Outlook, taking her time. She stopped by the stairs for her sandals, not bothering to don them. Climbing the stairs she paused just at the top, smiled as she saw Kay and Fr33k. Crossing the room, she let her fingers drift over his shoulder, giving it a friendly squeeze on her way to the bar.

Slave labor? You should find a union to join...*a small chuckle escapes*

I had planned on going grocery shopping, but the weather has me seeking solace indoors. I may be leaving for a bit to hang out with a friend later this evening, but aside from that I've nothing planned.

Hello Cait, did you enjoy your walk?

She giggled at his statement.

"Hmm.. Adults Against Controlling Parents..." she mused, then shook her head. "That's too close to another organization... I'll have to think on that one... make buttons and t-shirts... controlling parents awareness day!" She giggled again.

She nodded as he told her his plans. "Cool, enjoy hanging out with your friend, if that comes to pass," she said with a smile. "Back to work tomorrow?" she questioned.

She stretched her arms above her head and sighed; leaning back in the chair, she yawned. A smile meandered over her face, it wasn't there for any particular reason, but, she liked smiling until her face hurt.
