The Outlook

His smile widens, "That sounds Lovely Caitlin... But I will be getting even with you soon." he said, a dark promise of sweet sweet revenge in his eyes. His hand trailed over her back and then down her arm to take her hand as he stood up again.

She came to her feet gracefully, stooping to pick up her top and putting it back on.

"I know you will."

"I don't make promises I don't keep." he murmers in her ear." he hugs her to him, before turning and leading her back towards the outlook and her room.

*Eyes follow the couple wandering back after being gone for quite a while. He chuckles a bit as he sees them walk past and down the hall, presumably to a room*

Have fun, you two...

A new day had begun. She sighed softly as she stood at the rail, looking out at the sea, that light breeze even reaching her up here, where she stood.

*His yawn precedes his entrance; He stands and stretches at the mouth of the hall to the guest quarters before moving over to the railings*

Did you sleep well?

Did you sleep well?

She smiled, turning her head to let her eyes roam over his person before looking back out at the view that soothes her.

"Well enough I suppose. Sleep was far shorter than I would have desired. And you? Sleep well?"

I slept like a rock, as usual. 7 hours is more than enough for me.

She walked towards the front door; her heart was pounding loudly in her chest. She looked up at the entire height of the place and bowed her head slowly. What was she doing here?

It was obvious, really, she wanted to network, to get to know people she had been silently watching since she joined the neighborhood... she only really had the nerve to speak to two of the many, it was sad, really, or it could be funny, depending, how shy she was. She joined this place, after all, that must denote her lack of shyness. But, no, she was still shy...

She bit her lip as she stood in front of the door, she just had to reach for it, open it... that's all... and people would or wouldn't talk to her... that's all... there was no registered way of being, just to be herself... that self she wasn't really fond of... she could act like no ones business, put on her bravest smile... but what was the point? The whole idea of her coming here was to meet people and be real... real people are more likable than fakes, after all...

She bravely took hold of the door handle and opened it, stepping through the threshold. She was wearing a beautiful 'retro' dress, with a tiny little black clutch purse, and black wedge heels; her thick, short cropped dark ash blonde hair curled at the tips and lazily hung all over her head, a few strands clipped away from her face with little barrettes ornamented with little black roses. Her soft brown eyes evaluated the entranceway as she walked through it, after closing the door behind her. She walked into what seemed to be a living area, or a hangout, as it were. She stood there nervously, clenching her clutch purse firmly in her hands. It'd be proper for her to walk around and introduce herself... but she still wasn't quite ready to assimilate to the formalities of such things; instead, she patiently stood: slightly away from the entryway, but near the wall, awaiting someone to come to her and introduce themselves.

Always, the wallflower.

Turning from her contemplation of the ocean, she saw a new face. Smiling, she waved.

"Milady, Welcome to the Outlook. Come join us over here. The view is to die for and people, well, they're friendly amongst other things. "

She bows her head shyly, biting her bottom lip again; her bangs fall back into her eyes and she lets them stay there.

'Just do it,' she thinks as she slowly raises her head to look at the one beckoning her to join the party of two. She walks over, slowly, cautiously; her steps are short and the tap of her heels on the floor are staccato: the sound rolls and echoes through the nearly empty room like a metronome keeping time.

She leaves at least three foot between herself and the two of them, smiling weakly; she tries to find her voice, lips part but sound stays silent. Her eyes avert from eyes as her unease gnaws at her psyche.

The bare footed redhead continued to smile and spoke gently as she watched the lady in question join her. She scooted over, making room at the rail.

"Come, lady. Look at the scenery. It is spectacular, I promise. I am Cait or DW if you like."

She turned back to her contemplation of the ocean, a small smile still in place. How well she knew what the newcomer was going through. She had been exactly the same way herself. Sometimes, still was. But along the way, she figured out that if you don't put something out into the Universe, it can't give back. The lady's body language spoke of much. So, she stood at the rail and waited. Quietly. Lifting her face to the slight breeze off the ocean.

I near the end of a long trying day, but I've made up my mind to accept the things I cannot change, and seek the peace and serenity of allowing fate to unfold as it will. Still, the peacefulness of the sea calls me, soothing my mood as I walk along the sand, listening to the sussuration of the waves kissing the shoreline.

Up ahead is the Outlook, a favorite place to rest and work on some writing, or even just enjoy good company. The thought makes me smile, and for a moment, it feels strange, as if its an expression unfamiliar to my face. That is just wrong, I decide, and I will not let it leave so soon, even after the thought drifts away into the ether. I keep the smile as I head for the steps upwards to the rail, already noticing that there are a couple people enjoying the view.

She'd been around for a while, secretly observing the individuals that made up this vast community, trying to figure some people out, accepting others, but THIS wasn't her forte. She looked the bare footed redhead named 'Cait' over and softly responded:

"Nice to meet you... People call me OI... or Kay... though more call me OI." her voice was soothing; you could probably tell that she was a soprano way back in high school choir, though her voice wasn't nearly the pitch to annoy one's ears.

She watched as Cait took her place back beside the man that Kay casually spoke to on occasion; her cheeks grew hot and she glanced out at the panoramic view. It was breath-taking, like always, any seascape was to her: anywhere that reminded her of home.

"I love the ocean," Kay commented forlornly, as if it pains her to admit it. "The sea, The Gulf, The Bay... it makes you feel so small and insignificant in such a elaborately beautiful way..."

She blinked slowly and frowned. She had rhymed unintentionally... how corny... was there anything else she could say to sound like such a doofus? Probably, knowing her luck.

"Milady," a friendly smile for the lovely lady she had met on her first couple of days here, "How are you?"

Looking up at the sound of the familiar greeting, my eyes meet the red haired warrioress I met only days ago. She reminds me of someone from my past, another flame haired warrior woman who also called me 'Milady' though I often encouraged her to call me 'Thyri'. She too never seemed to become comfortable with it, instead never forgetting that I was a princess, if only by marriage.

Hello again, Dark. You remind me of Kira, my friend and one time bodyguard, when you call me Milady. How have you been? I trust you are finding welcome here around the lounges.

" I am honored. 'Tis good to see you again, Milady Thyri. I have been well and yes, I have been finding a welcome. I took courage in my hands the other day and traveled to the Inn. Of course, I was drawn in by the smell of CG's coffee. I trust you have been well since we last met? And please, call me Caitlin or Cait or even DW."

Yes, Cait, CG makes coffee like only an old sailor can. I suspect he uses sea water. ;) Whatever his secret, its fairly stout, I also heard he uses it to refinish the floors of the Pearl once a year as stripper. :D

My friend Gladiator has told me how much he enjoys your company. I'm so happy he's found another friend to help him get through the hard times he's experiencing now. He was the first friend I made when I came to Lit, even before I visited the lounges.

And I see you seem to have made another friend? Would you introduce me?

CG's coffee? A good thing I have him put creamer in.

Her cheeks turn a fiery red at the mention of Glad.

"I have been enjoying his company as well, Milady Thyri. I fear I helped to keep him up late last night and he had places to be this evening," she scrunches her nose up slightly, "he does speak of you rather fondly. It tells of deep friendship and trust.

As for the lady here, I would love to but she wandered in, has not spoken since and has not introduced herself. She seems to be rather shy as well."

My time will be short here, but I was drawn and had to stop in to one of my favorite spots. Appearing my chair, I chuckle lightly to myself.

Afternoon Thryi, DW and OI.. I trust you are all well.

Bien sur... appear and my staff places a drink in my hand. I must pay them well. I smile over to the ladies.

"Milady Aus, gracious hostess as always. It's a pleasure to see you again."
