The Outlook

Kay, I noticed that you had written with Soulweaver quite a bit. He is a wonderful writer, isn't he? I've only had a few interactions with him, traded a few PMs, posts, etc. But he always struck me as a very kind, caring gentleman.

I was reading your SRP profile. It looks quite interesting. Lately I've been pulling back from writing due to real world situations taking their toll on my creative desires. But when my mood picks up again, I might have an idea or two to approach you with. One story idea I've wanted to do, and actually started three times, was a story about an Amazon warrior who takes a rookie under her wing, so to speak, on the front lines of a fierce conflict. All three of my co-writers showed interest, but only for a post or two. Your shyness would be a perfect quality for the newcomer. How are you with battle scenes and combat descriptions of a Greek or Roman style battle? I'm imagining something like the battle between Achilles and Hector in Troy, or some of the fight scenes in Gladiator.

"Oh, gosh, yes! He's the only partner I've SRP'd with. He's a wonderful writer, very articulate and suave. I enjoy speaking with him and being his co-writer. He's a good friend of mine, and yes, he IS a very kind, caring gentleman," she said with a gentle, reminiscent smile. "I haven't spoken to him in a few days, I do hope he's alright..." she sighed. "Probably RL has pulled him away for a while..."

"As for your story idea: that sounds really interesting," she grinned. "And, while I'm not well versed in writing battle scenes and combat descriptions of Greek or Roman style battles; I did enjoy the film Gladiator. Typically, anything I see I can describe. Let me know when your life isn't so hectic, and, if you'd like to try that story idea with me, I'll re-watch Gladiator for inspiration."

I haven`t said I was bored at all today. Today I`m have a good time. It`s Dragon who`s bored.

I'll be sure to do that. I enjoyed Gladiator, and also 300, and Troy, as I mentioned. Heck, I even like Xena, Warrior Princess! The combat in that show was a little hokey sometimes, but still entertaining.

Come to think of it, I bet Cait would be a good match for that Amazon role too. But I get the sense that you would prefer a male co-writer, am I right, Cait?

She looked at her empty glass and sheepishly glanced around, chewing the inside of her cheek again.

She blinked, then grinned again.

"Oh, 300 was amazing... it made me cry though..." she laughed at herself for admitting it. "My stupid best friend made me watch it with him and didn't tell me the ending... halfway though the darn thing I figured it out, but hoped I was wrong..."

Greek and Roman History. History is my favorite subject and I love studying those two civilizations.

"Indeed, Milady Thyri. Indeed. I adore battle scenes though. I have been called a shield maiden, a sword maiden and a few others."

Fun fact. There were an additional 2700 or so troops from other citystates at the battle of Thermopylae...

I love that movie. The strength, of body and mind. Stunning.

Also they had Naval support to hold off the Persian navy. If it weren`t for them, the troops at Thermopylae wouldn`t have survived long than a day.

That's interesting, Cait. A lot of people have said that in real life, I remind them of an Amazon or more like a Valkyrie. I had the chance to write a combat scene in one of my stories, and found that I enjoyed that as much or more as writing the intimate scenes. The visualization of the action was like Matrix time in my mind. Each action and reaction of the participants just played out in slow motion detail in my imagination, and all I had to do was write the description. Lots of fun!

It is. When I get stumped on a certain move, I take out my bastard sword and run through the scene and figure out my next move.

*nods* Unfortunately for them, they were cut off from landbased troops.

"Agreed!" she exclaimed.

She stood and stretched a little, leaving behind the dark night sky, and walked into the main living area. There were plenty of couches to choose from, but she took the one adjacent from Avellan.

There really wasn't any reason in moving, other than the brisk ocean air which cut through her dress, and was starting to make her cold. She crossed her legs, lady like, and listened to the conversation, bobbing her foot occasionally.

Smiles at Kay.

Well this is nice. I don`t think I`ve ever had something like this happen before, where a lovely lady approaches me and want to be near me. I like it.

Well, my friends, I'm enjoying our evening together, but my eyes are beginning to close. I'll say good night to you all and catch up to you another time.

Cait, it was very nice talking with you again.:rose:

Kay, I'm glad we had a chance to get to know each other a little. I look forward to talking with you again soon. :rose:

Avellan, now you can say your good byes. ;)

Dragon, I hope you catch up with Miss Luna. And good luck with your story with her. :)

*waves to everyone, vanishing to another dimension in an enveloping white mist, which fades away, leaving only the echo of my voice.*
