The Patient (Closed)

Felix

Putting down the phone, Felix brings his finger and thumb up and squeezes the bridge of his nose as he feels the tale tale sign of a headache coming.

What's going on here?

His thoughts are interrupted by the girl.

"N-no one sent m-me......I'm sorry Felix..I did not mean to hurt you.. I've just been trying for so long to have someone hear me. Ever since the hospital.. when I woke up, but didn't..."

"Hospital?" He said out aloud, cutting her off.

Who is this girl? And how come she knows so much about me?

The girl has now moved away from the sofa, her eyes squeezed shut as she mutters away to herself.

What the fuck...???

His patience, strained due to the interrupted sleep and the encroaching headache, finally gives way.

"OKAY!!!! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS SICK JOKE," He shouts out as he goes for herl, "WHO ARE YOU AND WHO SENT YOU???"

At the sound of his voice, the girl's eyes snap open and she literally jumps backwards as she sees him bearing down on her.

"COME ON!!! TELL ME!!!" He rants as he tries to grab her. "WHO WAS IT??? WAS IT OSCAR???"

"N-no....PLEASE!!!" The girl shrieks as she tries to get away from him.

All it does is inflames his anger.

"STOP PLAY ACTING!" He shouts as he grabs for her again, this time succeeding.

"NOW TELLL MEEEEE!!!!" He screams, all self control lost as his pent up feelings erupt with explosive results. "TELL MEEEEE!!!!!"

In that one, uncontrollable moment, Felix savagely strikes her. The power of the blow tearing the girl from his grasp and throwing her to the floor...

Lissa

Savagely struck, she cries out as she hits the floor. Her face errupting in a firey explosion, she crawls away from him, too stunned to speak, to ward him off.

Sobbing, she knows she has to reach safety and that safety would be the door. Flipping onto her back, she sees him through teary eyes coming for her once more.

"NO!" She screams, a terrified cry born of desperation and fear, she scoots across the old wood floors as quickly as she cans.. fearing what he will do to her next..

"PLEASE! DON'T!" She cries out, his hands coming towards her. Cold numbness takes hold and her arms are thrown up to block him from striking her again..

Someone must have been watching out for her because his hands never touched her. All was silent and still, shaking and sobbing, she flinched wondering what stopped him?

"Please.. don't hurt me, Felix.." Her pleas were heard... but she was no longer visible, no longer materialized where he could see her.

She did not know this however, held poised, afraid.. fear making her unable to move for the longest time, and yet she did not hear him leave?

She dared to peek out, seeing his feet but nothing more. Slowly she lowered her arm, noting he was still looming over her, but unmoving. She did not note the fearful look in his eyes nor how pale he had become. Instead she jumped/slid backwards, gaining her feet finally and running for it.

In her hastey retreat from this monster, she managed to knock over a lamp, the glass shattering all over the floor, spreading out to cover almost the entire entry into the kitchen.

She ran, she didn't look back, just ran. Right through the door and into the wooded area behind the house. The first tree she came to, she hid behind, still sobbing, still trying to calm herself, listen.. was he coming after her? She prayed not, hoping he'd just let her go..

She wasn't visible, she just didn't know it..

She rubbed her eyes, sinking to her bottom against the cold mossy tree. She could feel the dew almost, but wasn't sure if she was cold or the ground beneath her? Wrapping her arms around her knees, she huddled there, crying and confused.. The pain was long gone, but the memory of it lingered in her mind.. Once he released her, all feelings stopped and yet she could swear she still throbbed with pain?

Felix

As soon as he hears her plea, he stops. The sudden realisation freezing him. He can only watch helplessly as the young girl suddenly vanish!!!???

He cannot believe it. One moment, she is lying on the floor in front of him. The next, she is gone. Except for the smarting sensation on his hand, it is as if she was never there.

What is going on???

The sound of breaking glass brings his attention back to his immediate surroundings.

The kitchen!

Rushing over, he half expects to see the girl there but all he finds is the lamp lying on its side - its glass smashed across the floor.

"Oh my God! Am I going mad?" He says out aloud. "I could have sworn she was here."

But how can he explain how she just disappeared in front of his eyes? Or the fact she had come into the cabin without even making a noise or that she knows things she should never have known?

"Maybe I am going mad."

Felix looks around the cabin. It feels cold and alien.

"Fuck this! I've had enough of this place. Mad or not, I'm better off back home."

Home!

His mind made up, Felix quickly bundles everything into his bag. Once the door is locked, he rushes out into the pouring rain to where his car is waiting for him. He doesn't even give the cabin a second look as he guns the car down the old dirty track which leads him to the road that will take him to the main freeway...

One minute she was hidden behind the tree and the next she was literally ripped from her sanctuary and standing in the middle of the road......

"What?" She glanced around, unsure why she was suddenly placed there and by what 'power'? She hurried to wipe the tears from her face, a natural reaction to crying, curious reaction when she felt the wetness and warmth on her fingertips.

She had no time to ponder over this as head lights nearly blinded her as they suddenly appeared from around the corner of the mountain side.

She held up her hand to ward off the bright beams from her eyes, thinking that no one could see her, she had no reason to move really.

She closed her eyes, her arms falling slowly to her sides, wishing for a moment the car would run her over and kill her, ending this miserable existance!

She stood still, head back and face to the heavens, waiting, wishing, desperate to be released from this strange cruel shape...

A horn blared, but she ignored it.. They can't see her anyway, whats the point?

The horn blared again as the car sped rather quickly in her direction.

"You can't see me!" She yelled but did not move, did not open her eyes. Was there a deer behind her? She didn't care.

"please.. take me out of this world..." She whispered, wishing with all her heart she would finally know peace, no longer be lost..

Tires screeched, brakes locked up as the car fishtailed on the concrete road and began to slide, swerving to miss the ghostly apparition.

Her head shot down, her eyes locking on the driver as a pale faced man struggled to control the sliding car.

"Felix!?" She gasped, jumping aside despite the bumper passing through her.

"FELIX!" She yelled his name, watching hopelessly and hoping he gained control before he too wrecked.. The car slid down an embankment, rearend first and right into a tree.

She cried out in terror and ran to the edge of the road, looking down as the car shimied and died. A hissing could be heard coming from somewhere, but her main concern was getting him out of that car before the impact caused the gas tank to explode.. if it did.

She slid down the hill side, bumping against the hood of the car. "FELIX!" She shouted at his bent head through the windshield. "Dont you dare die on me!" She moved as quickly as she could around the car and to the door. Yanking it open, she fumbled to grip his seat belt....

"don't die.. don't die on me.." She ordered shakenly as she struggled with him, his seat and her panic.

Felix

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Felix wakes up with a start at the sound of the door bell buzzing.

The taxi driver! He thinks to himself as he gets up from the sofa. He had been waiting for the taxi to the airport when he had fallen asleep.

Looking over, he sees that the telly is on and is showing just distortion on its screen. Going over and turning it off, he grabs his bag.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

"Just a moment! I will be with you in a mo." He shouts out.

Picking up his ticket, he takes a moment to study it.

A 1-way trip to Paradise Island.

He smiles to himself as he thinks about the trip.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

"I'M COMING!" He shouts as he opens the door and sees the taxi driver standing there.

"Sorry, Mac." Says the driver. "But we gotta get moving."

Taking last look at the apartment, Felix closes the door and follows the man to the cab...

Lissa

She was frantic to wake him when another car stopped to assist, an elderly man came running over, "He alright?"

"No, call 911. please!" She checked him for anything that would indicate a fatal wound but found nothing. "Felix? come on baby.. wake up. Please wake up!" She shook him a little until the older man warned her not to move him.

"He could have a broken neck miss, don't move him. They're on their way." He went back to his car and pulled a blanket from the trunk, handing it over to her, "Put this over him to keep him warm." The old man looked around the road trying to find a reason for this accident.

"Know what happened?" He asked tentively, speculation already sounding in his voice. Probably thinking Felix was a drunk driver or something..

"N-No.." She lied and didn't like it but she didn't want to explain how she was suddenly in the middle of the road either. He fell silent while she tried her hardest to talk to Felix, only stopping when she heard the sirens blaring.

"Move aside!" An EMT shouted as he came towards the car with a stretcher. She watched them brace his neck and lift him out, watched as they settled him down on the road, checking vitals.

"W-whats wrong?" She stammered.

"Are you related to him miss?" The EMT looked her over, expecting an answer.

Again she lied.. "I'm his wife."

The EMT accepted it for fact and asked his name, "Felix."

"Rodger, his heart is slowing down..." The second EMT looked a little confused with this fact.

"Let's load him up." They jumped to do that, letting Lissa into the ambulance. "There isn't much room back here, so hang on."

"Thanks mister!" She called to the older man, gripping a railing and waiting. She held onto his hand, her worry increasing each second as they raced into town.

"He's not responding!" He called to his co-worker. Vitals are normal, heart rate is dropping. What the hell ...?" the guy was as confused as she was..

And then the noise stopped as her heart sank into her stomach. Her eyes widened with realisation.... He wanted to die!

She searched his face, her grip on his hand getting harder and harder. She had to do something!

"Felix.. don't leave me!" She whispered into his ear, knowing she had to some how merge with him to stop this..

She looked at the EMT who was paying no attention to her, but she was very aware of the heart machine being primed up. They were going to zap him if it stopped...

"Felix! Please, wake up." She sobbed brokenly, eyes on that painful looking machine, hoping he wasn't giving up like she thought he was! "Please, please wake up.. Come back."

"Twenty.." The EMT watched the monitor, watching his heart slowly stopping, his hands working to lubricate the connections before ripping open Felix's shirt. Grabbing the machine, he told Lissa "Get back, this might hurt you if you're too close." His face was set with determination as he kept his eyes on the monitor.

It was now or never...

She released his hand, sitting back and closing her eyes. She felt herself lightening considerably, knowing she was once more 'dissipating' from sight. When she was certain she was no longer anything but 'charged protons' she got up and slowly slid herself into Felix's body.

Noises began to fade as she felt the dullness of his body pull her further and further down. His mind was functioning, she could see images, brief flashing visions, but they were firing so slow it was hard to make out..

She put herself further into him as best she could, smelling with him, hearing with him until she opened her eyes to see a vast airport and a million taxi cabs.

Turning, she looked around slowly by turning in a circle. It was the brightest blue sky she had ever seen in her life. A lone airport stood against the blue backdrop but she seen nor heard any planes coming and going. The road was a one way road, coming in and driving off.

She followed a taxi with her eyes as it passed by her left side, noticing the bright green fields of grass as far as the eye could see.. Nothing more, nothing less. The Taxi had vanished from her sight, "odd dream.." She was a bit confused by this, but started forward. Passing between two taxis, she looked around for Felix but did not see him anywhere.

"FELIX!" She shout at the top of her lungs.. Suddenly it was deadly silent as the skies began to darken and brew around the building. The nonexistant winds began to blow as she heard a voice in her head, "Go back!"

She jumped with fear at the force of this voice inside her mind, turning to see if someone had shouted in her ear, but seeing no one near her.

"GO BACK!" Again it shouted it's warning but when she did not heed it and kept moving forward to the doors, she felt a presense surround her.

"It is not your time!" A ripple moved around her, much like an invisable man.

"IT IS NOT HIS TIME EITHER!" She shouted back and stomped forward.

"NO!" The ripple passed through her to bar the doors. "If you go in there and do not leave soon enough, you will be trapped and judged! You are not ready to be judged, you are not supposed to be here!" A coldness began in her chest, a pressure as if being pushed back.

"I know that! I also know I am trapped like this if HE does not help me!" Silence again... The ripple was gone, but where?

She pushed on the doors, expecting them to be locked to her, but found they slid open easily. "you were warned.." the voice echoed inside her head. She was warned, enough already!

She had one hope to get back her life, Felix. If this is where he put her, then this is where he is!

She ran through the huge station, watching people file in lines through portal/gun dector like doorway.

"It is not your time." spoke a man that resembled some kind of greek god. The person he spoke to was a child, this caught her attention quickly enough, she stopped and stared. The child vanished before her eyes and the next in line stepped forward.

"Paradise, single. Proceed." This greek god sent one through, and thankfully nothing happened, the guy just kept walking towards the back of the airport.

She was frantic now, she had to stop Felix before he made the biggest mistake in his life!

"FELIX!" She shouted as loud as she could, walking running through the crowds, breaking the lines to pass through. Several eyes turned her way but no one spoke.

"FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELIX!!!!!" She shouted as loud as she could and again felt a ripple pass by her.

"He's through the gates, the one you seek. You may not pass through."

"Like hell I can't!" She turned towards the lines, the doorways and looked around. There was a gap between each set of doors about ten feet and a flimsy little velvet rope barrier. She ran right for it and jumped, clearing the rope.. That is when all hell, figuritively speaking, broke loose.

"STOP HER!" One shouted, another warned her she could be lost to all if she kept going, but it didn't matter.. Without Felix, she was lost. 'Airport Security' was called apon for the first time in centuries, they had a soul in here that was not ready.. it was their job to get it out before it became trapped forever.

Lissa kept running, past waiting room by waiting room, looking for Felix's familiar face. It wasn't until the very last room that she found him, sitting in a comfortable chair, smile on his face, waiting.

"FELIX!" She cried out as she stopped before him. She panted heavily, fear and so many other emotions running through her.

"You can-" She was cut off as the EMT zapped Felix. She jerked in pain and stumbled to one knee. "Holy!" She stopped herself from swearing, realising where she was. She had tears in her eyes as it had stung so badly, her own heart seemed to freeze from this jolt. Odd.. Her heart wasn't in this entity?

She glanced up into his face, seeing that he felt nothing, but he did stare at her, confused clearly.

In the waiting room, Felix again glances at his watch.

8:01PM

Strange, he thinks to himself. He is sure that it was '8:00PM' when he first arrived at the airport and that was ages ago. He shakes his head. It's as if time is going slowly for some reason.

Maybe it's the watch.

But a cursory look around the room soon finds him a wall clock which shows the same time.

Damn!

He cannot wait to board the flight and get to where Jane and his son are waiting for him. For some strange reason, it seems like forever since he has seen them last and try as he might, he cannot seem to remember what his boy looks like.

But everthing will be alright when I see them again.

"FELIX!" A voice cries out and Felix sees a girl running up to him.

"You can - ARGGGHH!" The girl's body suddenly jerks as she stumbles onto one knee. Immediately, Felix reaches forward. Grabbing her before she can topple over.

"You okay?" He asks as the girl looks up at him, her eyes dazed.

"Y-yes. I think so." She says softly and Felix could swear that he has seen her before.

"I am sorry sir." Breaks in a large burly Airport Security guard who is standing with a colleague who looks amazingly similar to the first man directly behind the girl. "This young lady is trespassing. She shouldn't be here."

The two of them grab the girl, hoisting her to her feet.

"No please!" She protests as they start to drag her towards the door.

"Wait!" Felix calls out. "Where are you taking her?"

"Don't worry, Sir." Says the second man who not only looks like his colleague but sounds like him too. "She will be taken care of."

"No!"

Felix watches as the girl manages to tear herself away. Only to be struck down by the first security guard. Horrified, he looks at the girl now lying on the ground and for a moment, he is elsewhere, looking at the same girl lying on the ground.

"I'm sorry that you had to see that, Sir." Says the second guard (or is it the first?). "But this girl is extremely dangerous."

Felix finds himself nodding as he watches the two men take the unconscious girl out of the room.

He looks at his watch again.

8:02PM

Why is time going so slowly?

Tries that he might, he cannot stop thinking of the girl.

Why does she seem so familiar? And how does she know my name? And why did they have to treat her like that? Surely she couldn't be that dangerous? She's only a young girl!

A part of him, a strong part, wants him to wait for the plane so that he can finally see his wife and son. But he cannot stop thinking about that girl.

He looks at his watch again. It still says '8:02PM'. He has hours before the plane lands. Plenty of time to find out what has happened to the girl.

Getting up, he goes over to the door, only to be stopped by the same security guard?

But how..?

"Can I help you, Sir?" The man asks him and looking at him again, Felix can clearly see that this guy doesn't look at all like the others. Confused, he rubs his eyes.

"Sir? Are you okay?" The guard says to him.

"Erm... Yes." Felix responds, trying to clear his head. "That girl? Where have you taken her?"

"Oh don't worry about her, Sir. She has been taken in for questioning"

For some inexplicable reason, Felix feels a cold shiver run down his spine at the word 'questioning'. Why doesn't it seem right?

"Can I see her then?" He finds himself asking.

"I don't think that is a very good idea, Sir." Says the guard. "She is a very dangerous person. Don't worry, we will take care of her."

Again the cold shiver and why is the girl so dangerous? She certainly doesn't look dangerous.

Before he knows what he is doing, he has managed to duck the guard and is running towards what looks to be the Airport Security office above a flight of stairs.

Lissa!!

He doesn't know how he knows her name but he knows she is there and in trouble and only he can save her. Taking the steps two at a time, Felix rushes up the stairs and, without hesitation, bursts through the door.

The sight he sees before him shocks and horrifies him. The girl, Lissa, is has been stripped bare and strapped on some sort of bed, her legs obscenely spread apart. Standing in between them is one of the security guards, naked from the waist down - revealing an engorged phallus that could never possibly belong on a human male, either by size or design.

"FELIX! HELP ME!"

One look at her terrified face and Felix launches himself at the security guard...

She fought them as best she could but she was no match for their strength, And when they touched her, her flesh began to burn and hiss. She cried and pleaded with them, getting nothing but laughter for her puny efforts.

"You were told not to enter, now you are ours!" They sneared with pleasure, it was not often the 'security' boys were allowed a toy such as she. Rotten souls appeared here often, looking as rotten as their existance had been, but she.. Well she had an angelic appearence, it had surprised them she was unworthy to enter.

But they would not complain, instead they carted her out of there and down into their own 'torture chamber'.

"PLEASE! FELIX!" She cried out again, sucking in a painful gasp as she tried to wrench their hands from her body. Amazingly she felt all of this, or was that cruelty?

They tossed her to a table top, rendering her clothes from her body, what little did cover her, grinning from ear to ear.

"Please, don't! Let me go, I don't belong here!" She sobbed, trying to bat their hands away and cover herself.

"Demi, pin her!" She looked to the other demonic looking guard but he did not move to obey? She glanced around until she seen a blackish entity slowly filling up a space just behind her head.

"God! What is that!?" She kicked and squirmed, her eyes wide with fright. It began to take shape, blood red eyes and a toothy grin as it's mind took control over her and pinned her down.

She screamed then, a blood curdling scream of raw terror and passed out.

She was slapped visciously awake not two seconds later, still pinned to the bed. "FEEEEEEEEEEEEELIXXXXX!" She sobbed as the guards stood naked before her.

"Bend her knees Demi." It ordered.

"God, someone please HELP ME!"

"There is no god here little one, just us." He cackled much like she thought a witch would sound like. Tears poured down her face as the Demi thing bent her knees..

The door swung open as the guard positioned himself between her spread feet. She gaped in astonishment and fear at the size of this creature. She felt her stomach coil tightly as the head of this beast's organ began to seep what looked like rotten blood from his slit.

A roar sounded from the door as a blur launched itself at the demon. They crashed to the floor with a loud grunting noise as fists struck again and again. She couldn't see what was going on, but Demi pressed harder down on her, cutting off air as the second guard grabbed whatever had flew into the room.

Raising his fist as if to strike, she seen Felix's face and the anger within his eyes.

"FELIX!" She cried out, never so thankful in her entire life to see his face.

"YOU DARE TO INTERFERE HERE!?" His fist flew forward to strike into Felix's chest, his goal was to take this soul that dared to enter here.

The room darkened suddenly, the guards fist frozen in movement, unable to move another centimeter towards Felix.

"YOU DARE!" A voice unlike anything she heard before bellowed into the room. Instantly Demi vanished and the second guard as well. She wasn't sad to see him gone, his phallus was terrifying to say the least...

The guard that held Felix cringed but was unable to escape.

"But.."

"NO! Do not speak! You dare to touch a pure soul!? You know the repercussions of such an action!"

"No! PLEASE! I didn't know!"

"YOU DID NOT LOOK!" Said the booming voice. And she did look then, looked hard at Felix and noticed for the first time the light blue glowing around his entire body.

"You are no more!" The guard paled considerably, if a demon could get pale. His eyes wide with fright as he vanished from the room.

She lay there, panting in fear of what was next. Unsure what to do, she knew she had to get out of here! But she knew as well, she needed Felix to do so..

Another charge went through her body as the EMT shocked Felix's heart. "We got a pulse! Faint, but we got it." He watched the machine, noting the irregular beat.. He could still go at any second if it didn't start beating faster...

Inside the room, she shivered as she fell from the table. Landing on her hands and knees, she cried deep sobs as she tried to gain her feet. Never had she been more scared than she was now, never.

"Felix.. You've got to wake up!" She gained her feet with the help of his hand, launched herself instantly into his arms, holding tightly. Her slight frame was quaking still with fear... If this was her fate if he died, she certainly did not want to go!

Felix

"Felix.. You've got to wake up!" The girl as she throws herself onto him.

"Wake up?" He says, thoroughly confused as a million and one questions runs through his beleagued mind.

"Yes, Felix." Lissa says as she pulls her head and looks directly up at him. "You have to wake up. Before it's too late!"

"Too late? Too late for what?"

"Too late to come back." She tells him. "Felix, you have been in an accident and at this moment, you are in an ambulence on its way to hospital."

"What?" Felix responds, pushing her away from him. "What are you talking about? I am here, at the airport, waiting to catch a plane to see my wife and son."

"No!" She protests. "Your wife is dead and you never had a son! This is not real." She makes to grab him again but he steps back. "Felix, ppllleaaseee. You have to come back with me."

"No!"" Felix shouts out but the girls persists.

"Then answer me this, Felix. What made you know that I was in this office in trouble? And what were those things that attacked me??"

He starts to falter.

"I-I don't know." He says, shakily. "I..."

"Felix!" Shouts a familiar voice.

"J-Jane...?" He gasps as his wife runs up to him and takes him in her arms, her mouth finding his and he is lost in the moment, his body reacting violently to hers, his large arousal pressing firmly into Jane's body.

"Oooh, Felix. I see that you are glad to see me." Jane laughs cheekily after they finally break their passionate kiss.

"God! I have missed you!" He groans as he pulls her to him again, his mouth again finding hers as his tongue slices in deep.

This time, it is even more passionate than before as he feels her pressing back to him, her body feeling so hot in her arms.

"Jesus." Jane gasps. "I think we will need a room or we will get arrested."

"Mom?" Says a small voice.

Jane again laughs. "Oh my God! We got so carried away, I forgot that I had brought Toby along as well."

"Toby?" Felix asks, confused.

"Your son!" She chastizes him.

"Toby!" He cries out as he kneels down and allows the small boy to run into his arms, his tears running down his face.

"H-how come you two are here?" He finally says.

"We thought me and Mommy would surprise you. Isn't that right, Mommy?" The boy answers.

"Yes, dear." Smiles his wife and Felix cannot help think how beautiful she is.

"Anyway. We can go now." Toby says.

"Go?" Felix asks, not following what his son is saying.

"Go. The plane we came in is willing to take us all back. Isn't that neat?" The boy beams.

"Yeah!" Felix says, smiling back.

"C'mon then. Mommy's got your bags." Toby says as his mother takes Felix by the hand and takes him out through the door.

Toby pauses for a moment as he turns to Lissa, gives her a huge lear and follows them out.

"Wait!!" Lissa calls out.

"Hello, babe. Miss me?" Says a male voice behind her...

"Danny?!" She stopped her trekk after Felix and turned to see his beautiful eyes smiling at her warmly.

"Yep, it's me sexy. Miss me? Oh, I missed you!" He gathered her stunned limp frame up into a hug and squeezed her closely. His face nuzzled her neck as he placed tender little kisses along the arch of her neck.

"But.. what are you doing here?" She put her hands on his shoulders and pushed him away. She heard the boy speaking to Felix and knew fear yet again.

"Come on Daddy! We can watch from the window.. it's soooo neat!"

"I was sent to greet you, they thought a familiar face.." She wasn't listening as she spied Felix over her shoulder.

"I have to go.." She turned to walk off when Danny caught her hand and held it firmly.

"NO!" His eyes turned firey red as he fought to hold onto her hand. "No.. Please Lissa.." He softened his tone, using his big brown eyes to woe her into remaining with him.

She turned her attention back to him, missing the evil glow in his eyes as he struggled to keep her by his side.

"I missed you love. I have ached for you so much that nothing has been pleasure without you." He spoke poeticly, clinging to her, deceptions..

"Danny.. I." She stumbled for words, trying to extract her hand from his grasp.

"PLEASE LISSA!" He stormed loudly, forcefully pulling her into another hug, clinging as the desperation in his voice took on a new level, close to the brink of insanity.

"I need you.. I need you so badly, I can not sleep without seeing your face... I can not eat my stomache coils.." His words whispered into her ear, warming her causing doubts to rise that perhaps he was speaking the truth?

Only dead people did not eat!

"Let me go Danny!" She struggled out of his embrace and ran towards Felix, grabbing his hand to stop him.

"Felix! Wait! Tell me something.. When was your son born?" She hurried to spill out the words as Danny came up behind her and tore her hand from Felix's grasp.

"Lissa, my love, how can you leave me?!" He struggled to turn her back to him, if she would just meet his eyes, he could have her!

"NO DANNY!" She shrugged him off and met Felix's eyes. "do you remember his birth Felix? When was he born. How much did he weight? What did you do for his 5th birthday? Please Felix, think!" She held his gaze with her own, trying to pry him from this false world. He was her life line! That boy was not!

His 'son' turned then and began to cry, causing his mother to coldly eye her before embracing her child. "Haven't you done enough!?" Jane's voice was a pitch higher as well, a mother concerned for her young.. "Make her leave Felix, she is upsetting Toby."

"Felix, please. When was he born? Tell me?" She struggled behind her to get Danny off of her hand, but he kept reaching for it, trying to pull her from the 'happy family'.

Felix

Felix looks lovingly into his wife's eyes as they head off for the terminal.

"You should see the place, Felix." She is telling him. "The seaview is per...."

She stops as Felix feels himself being wrenched back.

"You?" He says to Lissa.

"Felix! Wait! Tell me something.. When was your son born?"

The words strike a cord even as the girl is pulled away from him.

"Lissa, my love, how can you leave me?!" It's the boy he had seen her with a moment earlier.

"Felix..?" He feels Jane's hand on his. "Come on, darling. Leave them to deal with their own issues. We have a plane to catch."

"NO DANNY!" She shrugs him off and met Felix's eyes. "do you remember his birth Felix? When was he born. How much did he weight? What did you do for his 5th birthday? Please Felix, think!"

"Mommy!!!" He watches his son burst into tears before running into Jane's arms.

"Haven't you done enough!?" His wife tells her before turning to him. "Make her leave, Felix, she is upsetting Toby."

"Felix, please. When was he born? Tell me?" The young girl shouts.

The boy pulls away from his mother and runs to him. Instantly, he is on his knee, cuddling the boy.

"It's alright." He soothes. "It's alright."

But is it?

He gets up as Jane approaches them, the three of them falling into a hug even as he looks for the girl.

"She's gone." Jane states.

Jane looks in the direction he is looking.

"Forget about her. She gone off with her boyfriend. Let's go." She tells him.

"Oh yes, Daddy." Toby says. "Let's go home. I want to go home."

Again, Felix kneels down and looks up at the boy.

"It's alright, son" The word almost catches in his throat. As if it feels wrong. Why?

Silently, he studies his son's face.

"I love you, Daddy." Toby says.

"I love you too." He replies and his words seem hollow. Again, why?

"Is there anything wrong, darling?"

He looks up at the loving face of his wife and it looks alien.

What's the matter with me?

"Felix! Do you remember his birthday? When was he born. How much did he weight? What did you do for his 5th birthday?" The girl's words echo in his head.

Lurching to his feet, he pushes the boy away.

"Felix?"

"Daddy?"

"I don't remember!" He says to the boy. "I don't remember you at all."

Lissa!...

Danny

They are in a darkened room. The two of them naked as he pins her against the wall.

"N-no, Danny." She gasps as he works on her breasts, causing the nipples to expand and harden.

"I need you, hun." He groans as he pushes his hard body against hers, his thick erection trapped between their bellies.

"D-Dann..." Her words are cut off as his mouth joins to hers, his tongue sliding deep within while down below, his hands ferrets out her ever dampening opening.

"Oohhhhh." The girl gasps as their mouths finally part, his fingers working busily inside her, preparing her for the ultimate entry.

"You will like this." He whispers. "I have changed since we last did this."

"Changed?" She gasps as he hungrily sucks at an angry nipple.

"Yyesss." He groans as he spreads her legs apart, keeping her pinned against the wall as he installs himself.

Lissa gasps as his large helmet comes in contact with her sensitive clit.

"You like? Then you will like this."

Effortlessly lifting her body up, he pushes his hips forward, forcing the thick head of his penis in between her swollen lower lips...

Lissa

She was struggling to get Felix's attention when she was suddenly surrounded by thick fog and blackness. The room spun, or she thought it had and when her head cleared she was pressed firmly against Danny.

"Danny?" She stuttered in her fear and confusion. Below her body was on fire, but how did she get this way? How did she become naked? How did a 'spirit' feel? She was so confused and torn, the feeling of being lost growing each passing second.

She pushed against his shoulders attempting to dislodge him from her, gain some freedom and yet he did not budge. His lips fastened onto hers probing deeply with his tongue. And although her body sparked instantly in reaction her mind rebelled against his intrusions.

Why? Why was he doing this? They had never had this type of relationship! Her knees grew weak and her heart beat increased, pumping hard against her breast with excitement. She groaned into his mouth, returning his kiss fully. Her fingers caressed each side of his face before curling and holding onto him.

She pressed closer, but inside her mind the fog was being battled, trying to force it out, trying to clear her mind."You will like this." He whispers. "I have changed since we last did this."

"Changed?" What was he talking about? Her eyes scanned his face, his eyes, trying to see what he meant by this. He flexed his hips, pressing into her, alerting her to the fact he was overly endowed now.

She shivered in response, the fear climbing more and more.

"Wait! Danny, stop this!" She pushed against him harder but he seemed to not hear her words.. Or perhaps did not wish to hear them?

She struggled, pushing more and more against him, it only made him groan in pleasure. His fingers skimmed over her breast and down her stomach, caressing liquid fire in it's wake. His touch igniting still, but why?!

He nibbled on her very sensitive nipples, causing a yelp of astonishment and surprise. She wiggled but stopped pushing, stop denying him what she suddenly wanted...

Where was the party music? Why weren't they at the dorms?

He spread her legs, lifting her, pushing himself against her to gain entry. Her legs locked around him as she kissed him passionately. The fog was surging forward in her mind, creating the scene as she 'thought' it should be. Music came from no where as did a room in the house. The blackness faded to reveal a bed and dresser.. an illusion..

"Danny!" She moaned against his lips, crying out his name as he spread her wet lips and pressed into her heat. Shivering from the sudden cold, she pushed closer. Trustingly she wrapped herself around him, surrendering herself to his care.. Craving release she had not felt in years.. After all, this was love.. Wasn't it?

A sound echoed in her mind and unbidden a face reared up so clearly she could see the twist of his lips, the blue of his eyes.

"Felix!' She moaned against Danny, rocking, trying to make him fit. She stilled, the name she uttered was not a class mate but a grown man.. Someone she did not meet until after...

She paled and jerked her eyes up to Danny's.. What she saw there made a scream lodge in her throat, cutting off her air, her voice.

His eyes glowed literally blood red. Her features were so twisted, even a Hollywood vampire did not resemble this evil!

"NO!" She shouted as her blood ran cold, her hands curled into claws as she raked them down his face, her legs falling from his hips. "NO NO NO!" She cried out, stunning 'Danny' as he dropped her to the cold hard floor.

The blackness returned full force, blocking all light sources but some mysterious light positioned above their heads.. The bed vanished, the music stopped, she cried out in alarm.

"FELIX!!!" Demons! They were not in heaven! They were in HELL! "FELIX DON'T LEAVE ME!" She crawled across the floor as Danny went to grab for her. A noise to the left caught her attention, but she could not find it's source... Danny cursed behind her in a high pitched voice so unlike his and vanished from sight.

Felix

"FELIX!!!"

Hearing her shout, Felix gets up and rushes off in search of the girl.

"Felix!" Cries out his wife. "Where are you going? You are going to miss your plane."

But he ignores her. The girl is right. That is not his son. And if that is not his son, then she cannot be his wife.

"FELIX!!!"

He finds her lying curled up on the ground, her eyes wide. He quickly goes to her. As he touches her, she rears away.

"NO!!! STAY AWAY!!!"

"It's okay. It's me, Felix." He says soothingly and smiles reassuringly as she looks up at him. Slowly, she allows him to pull her to her feet.

"Oh Felix!" She says suddenly, as she grabs him to her.

"Heeyyy!" He says as he gently removes himself from her embrace. "It's okay."

"FELIX!!!!"

The shout again, but it comes from behind him this time.

Turning his head round, he sees the girl running towards him.

What??? But she is here...

He looks back at the girl who is in front of him, instinctively stepping away.

How can there be two of them???...

Lissa

"DON'T!" She ran to him stopping abruptly to eye the likeness of herself. "That isn't me!" She pleaded with him to understand and see the demon as she seen it. Ugly.. putrid smelling, foul.. It resembled her, but the inside was clearly visible, clearly corrupt.

"Please keep it away from me!" She clung to his arm, whimpering, shaking with fear.

"You have to wake up Felix.. Please, for us?" She pleaded softly, holding out her hand as she took a step closer. Her eyes wary on the huddled creature beside him.

"She's trying to trick you into believing her.. don't listen! They want your soul Felix!" She clung tighter to his arm, fighting to stay beside him even though he tried to shake her off.

"His soul!? Are you mad?!" She threw up her hands and glared at the huddled woman. "He's alive!"

"NO HE ISN'T! He's d-dying!" She yanked hard on Felix's arm, pulling with her a few steps away from her mirror image.

Which one did he believe? Which one was the real thing? Even she could not tell herself apart of the demon, their likeness, mannerisms... voices.. were the exact same! She felt helpless, confused and totally lost.. She did not have the knowledge to make him see her, see the real her! This was madness!

"Felix? I was there in the lobby.. when your wife and son came to you..."

"SHUT UP! Don't listen to her!" She franticly yanked on his arm again but he pulled free of her and backed a few steps away from both of them.

"I saw her, Jane.. I saw what you lost and how those guards took me away from you.. lead you to believe that it, this was real! Listen to your heart.. you know who speaks the truth." She gulped nervously, unsure what exactly to do next.

"She knows because she was one of those guards!" She was no longer guarded by him, no longer safe..

But who was the demon? Who was misrepresenting themselves? How did one tell them apart?

"You know the answer Felix." They both said in unison, gasped and glared at each other in rage..

Felix

His mind reels at the sight and sound of them.

This cannot be real!!! It can't be!

He moves further away, his hand stretched as if to ward them off.

"This can't be happening. How can there be two of you?"

It is all becoming too much. Much too much. He starts to run. Away from the two identitical girls, away from his wife with the son he doesn't remember.

And he continues running, trying to block out all their shouts as they call for him. Trying to desperately get out of the airport.

But he can't. Every corridor he runs up has a dead end. Every door is locked.

"FELIX!!!!"

"No!" He cries as he tries again, and again, and again. Finally, exhausted, he falls to his knees.

"This can't be happening." He sobs, half hysterical. "Pllleeeasseee. This can't be happening!"

The sounds of footsteps makes him look up and he sees them, all of them, walking towards him. Arms outstretched.

"NO!" He cries out as he tries to get to his feet but can't!

"Oh Please help! Please God! Please help me!" He shouts out and everything goes black...

Lissa

She stood there stunned as 'the other her' smirked right back.

"You're an evil being!" She stammered a little. She was still afraid of what this demon could do. She wanted to chase after Felix but knew he was terrified of her now. She felt sadness well up and even stronger sense of fear. She had to get out of here and so did he!

It grinned at her. "You would think that.." It's skin melted away to change from a copy of Lissa to resemble Danny. Then it grinned and changed again. From Jane to Toby and then to Carla.. and then stopped on Felix. "I can be whomever you want me to be. Stay with me and you can have all you desire." Felix smiled back at her, a lusty little look too.. But it did not hide the blackness in 'his' soul.

"NO!" She shouted, more like spat at him in her anger. "I don't want this and neither does he! RELEASE US!"

It threw back it's head and roared with laughter. The sound of it was mocking and sick to hear. "You are pathetic if you think you can possibly escape me.... Even now he is chased by my minions. My little puppets.. Whichever word in your language makes the better sense." It shrugged as if that fact was an every day occurrence around here.

"What do you want from us!?" She snapped at it, an unwise thing considering circumstances but she wanted answers. "Want? I want what you freely gave to me with your ignorance’s! I want your pathetic weak souls to torment at my whim.." He chuckled and produced a mirror to look into. "I think this look suits me, don't you?" He caught her befuddled look and smirked even more. "You would want me with his face wouldn't you?" He sneered at her, as if he knew that answer already.

"You are blinded by your own ego!" She snorted in response to his taunting. She knew the real Felix. She knew he was kind and loving.. and what was that in the mirror?

"What's that?" She spoke aloud before realizing it as the demon stepped away and motioned her to look within the mirror.

"You man.. your cowering weak man.. trapped and lost.. This is what you want to save? LOOK AT HIM!" He demanded by grabbing her and pushing her face into the mirror.

He bent over her back, his fetid breath hitting her face before he leaned closer to her ear to whisper, "Look at him. Lying there, whimpering like the coward he is." He sensed her about to argue and squeezed her shoulder to silence her words. "Yes! He is a coward! I've watched him night after night.. Sobbing like a little baby over his precious wife!" He smirked as she watched the Demons picking away at Felix's huddled form. "I've watched him nightly press a gun to his temple.. even pushed him to do it by whispering what he already knows into his mind each and every waking moment! And does he do it? hmmm?" He leaned closer to her ear, whispering in a seductive, teasing tone before pulling back. "NO! He is so weak! It's amazing he lives even now when faced with his demons."

She watched as 'Toby' pleaded with his father.. Only Toby did not exist. He smirked at Felix's remorse and begging for help. "He is too weak to get an answer he seeks. His soul is mine.. You and he just need to accept that.." He released her but hovered over her still.

She searched her mind for all she knew, all she believed in her whole life. "That is a lie!" She whirled away from the mirror to look at him. "Everything about you is just that.. a LIE!" She screamed in his face. He merely smirked, quirking a brow, mocking still.

"IF he was yours.. if he was doomed to this hellish place.. then you wouldn't be fighting to keep him here!" She backed away from him and looked upwards into the blackness above.

"HELP HIM! HE HAS ASKED IN HIS TIME OF NEED!" She bellowed out. Behind her, around her.. everywhere the Demon's mocking laughter rang in her ears, but she ignored it and made her demand again. "HELP HIM!"

Nothing. No answer came.

The demon laughed all the harder and shook his head in amazement. It took a moment to get himself under control before smirking at her, "He will not aid those undeserving.. And even those that do deserve it!"

She turned and briskly walked away, only to hear, "Go on little bird! Run away! Run run run awaaaaaaay!" He cackled with laughter but did not persue her. "Run run ruuuun away.."

She entered this maze of corridors and started forward. She was determined to get to him, to stop this once and for all!

"This is only what we see it as.. An illusion.." She mumbled again and again as she turned from door to door, hallway to hallway.

A loud crack was heard, much like thunder and everything around her went black again. She stopped suddenly, fear clawing at her as well as anger. What was happening now?!

The demon's laughter was heard in and around her. "Run away little bird.."

"STOP IT! JUST FUCKING STOP IT RIGHT NOW!" She bellowed, shaking as tears slid down her face. He was playing unfairly! He was breaking the rules.. Were there rules? She had to help Felix by damn! And she meant to do just that!

"Oh please! You never helped a single soul in your life! You are nothing but worthless trailer-trash!" He stood before her again, still disguised as Felix. 'Now if you want power.. real power.. And a deity that will listen and aid you when you call.. Well.. " He winked at her and smiled, "Just call my name."

"You are a bastard!"

"Yeah, I knew that.. But do not tempt my anger little bird.. I would hate to hurt such a lovely creature such as yourself.." He didn't approach but waited.. seemingly with the patience of a saint.. which he was NOT!

"You can play your games and try and stop me, but I will get to him." She taunted back.

"HELP HIM!" She threw out into the air, a call of desperation and plea. Again he just laughed and melted away, putting her once again into the maze.

"Help yourself little bird. I can set you free... You don't need him." The voice whispered in her mind, caressing with promises.

"Need him or not you CAN'T HAVE HIM!" She doubled up both fists in irritation and began moving again. This way and that, opening doors and entering longer corridors.

She began to pray. Silently at first and then louder as she walked along.. Until the sound of her prayer, repeating over and over, was the only thing she could hear.. "The lord is my shepherd..." She only knew one and she hoped it was enough.

She stopped short as again the cracking boomed in the room and all went back to that black again. She stood in the center of a light, no more doors and halls. She sighed heavily, she was shaking with her anger now, becoming deadly calm inside.. He was pissing her off!

He laughed again and appeared behind her. "Your words are so sweet.. and so out of place. Really now? Did you think he would answer someone who killed an unborn babe? Did you think he would save you!? You have some gall if you believe that!"

"He isn't saving me. He would be saving Felix." She said nothing and started forward again.

"YOU DARE!?" He lashed out at her, smacking her with a force that sent her flying forward. She hit the ground some distance away, unsure really how much, but she hurt everywhere.

"Help him.." The voice was softly whispered into her ear.. A new voice.
"H-how?" She stammered, tasting blood on her lips, tongue. She hurt, she shook with the pain and didn't know if she could gain her footing to rise.
"The door. Look into the door."
"I can't.. I don't know how!" She groaned as she rolled to her back.
"Pull him through the door, look into the door.."
"What?" She sat up, rubbing her elbow. She held her breath waiting and glancing around the room. No voice came to her.
"What?" The demon stood before her mocking her again. "Talking to yourself my dear?" He quirked a brow and stood, aloof and full of himself.
"Show me again." She gathered her strength and got to her feet unassisted. "Show me Felix. I do not believe he is weak.. Prove it!" He smirked, thinking he was getting somewhere and revealed the mirror once more. The voice said look into the door, the mirror.. The mirror was the door? Or was it something else? She looked at Felix again, her hand reaching towards the cool surface of the glass.. Or what she thought would be cool surface..

Felix

The first thing he is aware of is that he is floating. Not in water but floating nevertheless.

"Open your eyes."

"Huh? Who are you?" He asks, his eyes still closed.

"You will see when you open your eyes."

He opens them and finds himself in a shimmering whiteness. Above him is floating what he can only call a 'shadow of light', its face instantly recognisable.

"Dad?"

"Yes, Felix. But not just me."

The face changes... to his mother's, then his Aunt Gina, his grandfather, his grandmother. Even his older sister who had died in an accident when he was only a child.

"Beth?" She doesn't look any different since the day she had died.

"Hiya, Bro. I must say you have grown up real good." She smiles at him.

He feels the tears well up in his eyes. Unlike his 'wife' and 'son', he knows without a doubt that this is his sister.

"No don't go all weepy eye on me, Bro. You have work to do."

"Work?" He stops and looks at her.

"Yes. You don't think you got off the hook that easily do you?" She gives him that conspiracial wink that he knows so well. He cannot help but smile. "You have a life to live. A destiny to fulfill."

"What destiny?"

"You had better speak to someone else about that." And with another wink, his sister's face changes to another familar face. A face he has not seen in a long time.

"Jane!"

"Oh, Darling. Are you alright?" His wife tells him, tears streaming down her lovely face. He joins in.

"Oh, Jane. I have missed you so much. Have you come to take me away?"

"Oh no, sweetheart. This is not your time. Not yet. You have to save your life and the life of that sweet young girl who needs you so much."

"Lissa?" And he remember his dream, the one where Jane had died. "But she killed you."

"No she didn't." Jane's face is full of sympathy. "It wasn't her fault. It was my time."

"But I miss you. I want to be with you." He cries.

"No, honey. It isn't your time." He feels a ghostly hand touch his cheek. "You have so much to offer. So much love and hope. You must go back."

"Go back?" He feels the instant regret as she moves her hand away.

"Back to your life. And you have to save the girl. Oh, Felix, she has risked all to come try and save you. Even though her very action has endangered the both of you."

"'Endangered the both of us'? I don't understand."

"Oh honey, this was never about you. This was about her. All I can say is that it takes a special type of heart to do what she has done. But now you have to save her. To save the both of you."

"What? How?" But already Jane is starting to fade. so is everything around him.

"There is no time. You have to go to her. Go to her now! Don't worry about it. I am fine."

And he finds himself back in the corridor, surrounded by the demons that all look like his wife and 'son'.

What had just happened? Was it all a dream?

He slowly gets up.

No! THIS is all a dream!

"You can't leave us. You are ours" Screeches his 'wife' and reaches out for him.

Instantly she ignites and vanishes.

Another demon comes and tackles him, only to suffer the same fate.

"Save her, darling!"

Pushing forward, he ignores the creatures' screams as they burn at his touch. His only thought is to save the brave young girl who had tried to save him.

With the surviving demons backing away with fear, he is able to see Lissa up ahead, her hand outstretched about to touch something that looks very much like an large ornate mirror while a creature with his face is speaking into her ear.

"LISSA!!!" He calls out.

The girl stops and looks over at his direction.

"FELIX???" She cries, before rushing towards him.

"NOOOOOO!" Cries his twin but he does not stop her as she rushes into Felix's arms.

"Oh Felix." She sobs, her head against his chest as he hugs her, suddenly aware of a light enveloping them.

The last words he hears her say before they vanish is: "You are the door."...

Lissa

She nearly touched the glass of the mirror, the demon behind her leaning further into her back. He conformed his body to match against her, providing a weight she didn't quite feel or sense, urging her into the glass.

"Yeeeessssss!" He hissed out, almost in euphoric pleasure.

"LISSA!" She heard her name shouted and turned towards it.

"FELIX?!" She instantly broke into a smile and turned from the Demon and the mirror. She ignored the shout of protest and ran to him, knowing that this man was the real Felix.

"Oh Felix!" She wanted to say so much, wanted to tell him of her struggle. How his struggle had scared her, how her own frightened her, but words failed her as he wrapped his arms around her. Instantly there was a weightlessness, a clearing around them, a lightening of air and a sudden bright light that did not sting the eyes to see.

She gripped him tighter, amazed as the words echoed in her mind. "look into the door." She smiled and hugged him back, "You are the door!" She spoke aloud, clinging to him....

"WE GOT A PULSE!" The EMT working on Felix called out, the weight of saving this man's life now lifted as Felix began to breathe on his own. Lissa was forced from his body, landing some how right on the seat next to the EMT.

"We got him!" The EMT looked at her and smiled, a warm loving smile, one that matched her own.

"Yeah.. you got him back." Tears stung her eyes as she realized she was back! She wanted to shout with joy, jump up and down and hug Felix.. Only he wasn't quite awake yet, but she could see his eyes moving under the eyelids.

The Ambulance pulled up to the local Hospital and wheeled him inside. She took time to sign the admittance papers and followed behind. She hoped he did not mind that she lied to the staff? She wasn't related and all she could think of was posing as his wife to get him treated.. Whatever worked.

She sat in the waiting room outside, waiting to find out if he was stablized. She knew, some how, that they wouldn't find anything wrong with him.. But he would be in full health and ready to leave before they knew it. Didn't matter, she had done it! She had gotten him out.. Or had he gotten her out? Either way, they worked well together..

An hour passed before the nurse came to get her. Following the woman to a private room, she sat down beside the bed and watched as the doctors examined Felix again.

Could they see her yet? The nurse had.. Why though? Her only idea was that perhaps Felix enabled her to 'live' outside her body.. She had to find out, figure out how to get back into her own skin.

Felix

Felix finds himself awake in a darkened room, his body covered with sweat and for a moment, he wonders where he is and why. The moment passes and he realises he is in a hospital bed (he has seen too many not to recognise one, even in the dark). He then remembers the accident and that someone, a girl, had saved him.

The girl!

His eyes widen as he is filled with a sudden sense of foreboding.

Something is wrong!

Forcing himself up, he is immediately 'rewarded' by an agonising paining shooting through his side. It takes all he has not to cry out. Carefully, he checks himself out and realises that although he had extensive bruising, nothing is actually broken.

Good! He thinks to himself. He has to get out as he feels the foreboding urging him on.

Despite the pain, he slides of the bed and finds himself standing on his feet.

Not so bad. Now to find my clothes. There is no way that the hospital will let him out dressed like this. Going over to a lone cupboard, he finds his assumption is correct when he pulls out his clothes. Quickly, he changes.

Once done, he goes over to the door and carefully opens it. Outside, the corridor is practically deserted. Taking a deep breath, he slips out...

Lissa

She was so weary.. So tired of running. Hiding.

Tears streamed down her face, from frustration, from loss. She felt like a big hole was in her center, a painful hole that ate at her, growing more and more as time wore on.

No one heard her, seen her. Her pleas for help gone unanswered. Several doctors had looked for her, to tell her how her 'husband' was doing, but none found her and eventually gave up searching and paging..

But she was there, trapped between worlds, being hunted by a sick demented entity. He guarded Felix's door, knowingly. He loomed there, a fearal smile on his twisted features and a hunger in his black heart that would consume her if given the chance.

He appeared to be a harmless old man, maybe sixty.. mentally lost due to a blow to his head.. But he was acting. He was pretending on so many levels, she at first had been lured by him.. by IT!

He came and gone as his heart desire. He could be seen and unseen. He could be alive and yet dead..

She had accepted his help at first, thinking he was a doctor due to his uniform, had been led away from Felix.. Away from her anchor, only to be used.

She shivered with the thought, looking instantly over her shoulder to make sure she had not yet been found. She had learned quickly the lay out of this small hospital.. And that there was no escaping as long as Felix lay unconscious..

She huddled in a closet, hearing the heavy beating of her heart. He did that too! He made her come alive so he could... So he could do things to her! So she could feel things!

She had stumbled upon him and a nurse the first night.. the nurse fighting, screaming for mercy, but unheard by others.. Unseen, he attacked her repeatedly.. The sick smells and sight would linger within her soul forever.. Both her and the nurse.

She stilled herself, hearing foot falls in the hallway, the distinct squeak of sneakers on the tile floors..

Oh god! Had he found her again! Would she have to bolt for safety once again? She was running out of hiding places.. She closed her eyes, calling franticly for Felix, for safety.. For release from this hellish prison! If she could have thrown up from the tension, she would have.. The sneakers stopped outside the metal closet she had managed to squeeze herself into.

Felix! Save me! she cried out mentally, again and again.. As she had been doing now for several days.."Please, let him hear me!"

Felix

Once outside the hospital, standing in the driving rain, Felix is disorientated. What does he do now? And where should he go.

The hospital! Go to the hospital! A small voice in his head whispers.

Hailing a taxi, he jumps in.

"Where to, pal?" Asks the driver.

"Mercy Hospital and quickly please."

Felix watches the taxi driver gently eases his car into the fast flowing traffic.

"How long should it take?" He asks.

"Oh 'bout 30 minutes, give or take." The driver answers.

That long??

As the minutes tick by, he can feel the urgency rising in him.

"Come on, come on." He says quietly to himself as he rocks back and forth on his seat.

"You alright, pal?" Cuts in the driver and Felix sees that he is looking at him through the rear-view mirror. "You look pretty pale." He adds.

"Just get me to Mercy Hospital - quickly."...

Lissa

The locker opened and the light poured in. She jumped, biting back a scream as she gaped in fear at the sneakers...

It was merely an RN.. She could have giggled for her stupidity, but the fear was still there. Rising slowly, she slithered easily past the nurse who did no more than glance around as Lissa passed through her.

She stopped and turned back to the nurse, something had caught her eye...

"Mercy Hospital?" She franticly thought and said the name to herself a few times.. How did she get here? And when? This was very strange.. She had been in that little place with Felix.. but not she was back here.. back where her body was...

Her eyes opened wide as she turned and ran from the basement level to the stairs. She ran up four flights of stairs until she hit the fourth floor. Pushing open the door, she looked down the familiar corridoor.

That's when she heard Cindy screaming..

"No no! STOP!" Cindy's little pleas didn't seem to phase anyone in the nurses station.. They didn't seem to hear the girl? Lissa took off running, racing to Cindy's room to see what was scaring her..

Inside the room, a huge stuffed clown and Teddy bear floated around the bedroom.. Gifts from her grandparents and mother... What pissed Lissa off was the fact that the stuffed toys now wore masks of horror and cruelty on their once cute stuffed faces.. That demon was tormenting Cindy!

"LISSA! MAKE IT STOP!" Cindy dove under her covers, burying her head deeply.

"STOP IT! JUST.. STOP!" Lissa grabbed the bear and threw it across the room, watching it lightly bounce off the wall and fall with a smile into the chair..

Instantly the 'doctor' appeared.. laughing, he dropped the clown and moved towards Lissa. "I was merely sporting with the chit.. She is unharmed.." His eyes roamed over Lissa with a smirk. "I knew you'd come." He whispered into Lissa's ear. He moved with a speed she could not keep up with and now stood behind her.

"What is it you want?!" She grated out past her clenched teeth. She was angry, angry for his tormenting children, nurses, old men.. For trapping her here!

"A companion.. No? Well perhaps just someone to.... Come!" He trailed off, taking her hand and yanking her out of Cindy's room towards her own. "I want a warm body.. I want many things. None of which you can give me.. But you can provide me with entertainment.." He grinned and continued to tug Lissa along with him, ignoring her struggle to free her hand from his grasp.

Felix

Outside Mercy Hospital, Felix pays off the taxi driver before rushing through the main entrance.

"Felix. Didn't know you were back today." Says Alfred the security guard as he eyes him suspiciously.

"Yeah, Alfred. I-I forgot something." He says almost absentmindedly as he makes his way to the wards.

"You sure you okay?" Alfred shouts after him.

But Felix doesn't reply as he turns a corner.

Now where is she?

He hasn't any idea. Apart from some insane feeling, he can't even be sure she is at this hospital But he has to try and find her.

He almost runs smack into Liz, a young black nurse.

"Felix!!??? What are you doing here??? You are supposed to be at the cabin." Liz says as she scrambles up her fallen papers.

"Something came up." He says, looking past her.

"What's got into you, Felix? " Shouts Liz. "First the phone call and now this."

"I'm okay, Liz." He tells her.

"No you are not!"

Liz's outburst causes him to look at her.

"Look at you. At your clothes. You are a mess!"

I don't have time for this.

"Liz? Do you know a Lissa?" He asks, cutting her off.

"Who? Lissa? No. Should I?"

Suddenly there is a shout.

"PATIENT IN WARD 11B HAS STOPPED BREATHING. WE NEED A TEAM UP HERE - NOW!"

Lissa!...

Lissa

She struggled each step of the way from Cindy's room towards her own on the next floor. It didn't stop him, it didn't slow him down and it only succeeded in making his grip on her that much tighter.

"WHAT-.. Are you doing?!" She stammered, trying to pry his fingers from their locked position around her wrist. He didn't answer, merely manipulated this 'world' around them and lifted her by one hand, yanking her into the room before pushing her down onto the bed, still with the same hand.

"Please.. stop.." She was even more afraid now, she could feel herself slipping into a body beneath her. In her struggles to get away, she seemed to forget she was in her own room. So the sinking feeling into the unseen body was disturbing.. the body was so cold..

"Stop what?" He bent over her, such a doctorly mannered smile.. "I am only trying to help you my dear.. Only trying to help. You need your body.. As I need mine." He held her firmly to the bed, appearing to scan her charts and study the monitors for one agonizing second after another.

This did not feel right to her, she couldn't name it but knew something bad was in this room with her. Something seriously disturbed. She could only think of distraction tactics to escape..

"Wh-where is y-your body?"

His eyes fixed on hers a moment and then gripped her wrist, appearingly he was checking for a pulse in a ghosts hand?

"M-maybe I can help you find it?" She probed harder, the plea and positiveness in her voice were hallow, forced. "I am good at finding things and I'm sure if you let me I can.. help you find it and maybe.. get back to.. back to.." She stammered quickly before the nerve left her but as he drew back away from her, she lost train of thought.

Was he leaving? He released her hands, but she was too terrified to bolt from the room.. Besides he stood between her and the door way. Her eyes darted there however and when they came back to his face, it was twisted into a mask of rage, his snarling was much like that of a rabid dog..

She shrank back from him, about to let out a scream when he lunged on top of her, his hands fixed around her neck.. Around cold flesh, the cold flesh of her own throat.

Her eyes went wide as her air supply was cut off, something that didn't matter before, now.. Now was as if she was alive. When he released her, she sank fully into her immobile body..

"YOU! TOOK! IT! FROM! ME!" He bellowed over and over as he straddled her body. Banging her up and down on the pillow, Lissa clung to nothing, her body refusing to wake up.. Her lips moved trying to plea for her life, but again nothing moved.. She was trapped inside a useless body, Her useless body! And fighting to live.

The machines all went off as her heart went into erratic patterns.. Then it began to skip a few beats.. struggling.
