The Queen's Purse.

You have it all wrong.

There are only two things in her purse. One is a pad of forms to order a public beheading on Tower Hill. The second is a fountain pen filled with non-coagulating blood for signing the forms.

You have been warned.

A tattered, dog earred copy of a recipe for Spotted Dick she found in a porn site story.

Don't you people know that she's Mac Gyver in disguise?

She, of course, has a swiss army knife, a foot of thread, and a stick of gum that she uses, behind the scenes, to save the world every Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Og's hat.

No. It wouldn't fit. My head is too big.

My cake can be seen on the publicity leaflet for the town of Dover in Kent. The leaflet (not my cake) had its official launch on last Wednesday.

PS. You won't find me in Dover (Except when there's a full moon and the pubs have run out of beer)

That is too cool!:rose:

Mr. oggbashan,

The leaflet warns that the next Dover Pageant is on the 5th June 2005. That leaves only a little more than a year to learn your lines.

What will you be recreating as Henry VIII?

Will you play the lute, wrestle — or maybe something more romantic? Perhaps a Tudor marriage ceremony, or one of your famous trial separations?

Oh, the thread topic!

Half a roll of peppermint Lifesavers, a crumpled tube of Preparation H, and a snotty Kleenex.

I don't know the script for 2005. It isn't written yet. In 2002 we recreated The Field of the Cloth of Gold where I met Francis I of France. I was accompanied by Catherine of Aragon and supposed to be 30 years old which I why I had to colour my beard. Actually Henry VIII was clean shaven on that occasion. Catherine objected to being scratched by his stubble as he started to grow a beard to match Francis. Henry's lack of beard nearly caused a rift with France. It showed how much influence Catherine still had after over 10 years of marriage that she could insist that Henry remained clean shaven even when he had agreed with Francis to grow a beard.

So I was nearly 30 years too old, wearing a coloured beard when I should have been clean shaven but it fitted the mood of the Pageant. The Roman soldiers were wearing Nike trainers!

Francis I was played by a French student. His wife was played by a member of the local amateur dramatic society old enough to be his mother. Catherine was played by one of my wife's friends with her three small children hiding behind the scenery. 'Catherine', her real husband and her children appeared several times in different roles and times. I can only do Henry VIII - I'm too distinctive and large.

Somewhere I heard that what she actually carries in her purse is a pair of white gloves and a tin of breath mints. Honest.
