The Racist Democrat War on African Americans

For Budda's sake NO ONE KNOWS what the rate of fraud is because there is NO WAY TO CHECK.

Are you incapable of following that logic or deliberately obtuse? (Pick at least one and no more than three.)

You should tell that to the Carnegie and Knight Foundations who conducted the study shown here.

Also the Brennan Center for Justice report here.

Unidentified Lying Objects

Between 2000 and 2010, there were:

649 million votes cast in general elections

47,000 UFO sightings

441 Americans killed by lightning

13 credible cases of in-person voter impersonation

For christ's sake. The incidence of voter fraud (not voter registration fraud) has been shown to be so low as to be statistically nonexistent.

This is a solution in search of a problem.

But hey, if you can manage to disenfranchise a bunch of voters for no reason then bonus, right?

Exactly the point. The disenfranchised are unlikely to be rich white men voting for an ignoranus like George Bush.

Well, except for Arkansas Governor candidate Asa Hutchinson, who was not allowed to vote for himself in the primary because he did not have proper ID...:D

Salon magazine reported: "WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2014 11:25 AM CDT

Arkansas GOP candidate’s voter ID humiliation

Asa Hutchinson, staunch voter ID proponent, says he couldn't vote because he forgot his ID. Oops!"

Conservatives know they cannot elect candidates without gerrymandering and judicious blocking of "undesirable" voters

because of course Republicans INVENTED "gerrymandering" and are the ONLY ones that redistrict to their advantage. That explains this Illinois redistrict with its neat checkerboard-like pattern.

@UD

If NO one had drivers licenses because they were not required HOW does one reliably study how many people are driving without license that are not required?

I'll wait.

You know what? No, I won't

Pretty soon it won't matter even if we do have national voter ID, there won't be any way to do a recount or audit in around 1/2 the states, or more, based on the last time I looked a few years ago).
So there's no way to know if votes cast actually went to the person intended or not.

But By God! We need voter ID!

We're inventing a possible solution for a problem that doesn't exist!

But someday it will exist! And when it does, we'll have already conquered it!

It's like putting on a bathing suit, getting wet and smearing sand all over your body before you even get into the car to drive to the beach, because you're preempting what's going to happen to you and thereby saving the universe, laws of physics and chaos theory that much more work to do!

Now THAT'S progressivism, bubelah! :D

Screw that. Screw the elections too; they cost too much and are phony as hell.

Let the two parties each choose a candidate, then let the two of them settle it in a Thunderdome type duel. Tina Turner could sing the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwRPXmcggdY, show off her magnificent legs, and we could put it on pay-per-vue and actually make money instead of paying out millions for a boring charade of democracy.

Well, I'm not going to deny fraud occurs, just like I won't deny that people die from lightning strikes.
The ability of some in evaluating risk is pretty poor it seems.
Which is the greater risk?
1. 10,000 people committing voter fraud
2. 70,000,000 people (rough estimate) having no way to know if the vote they placed actually was cast for the person they intended allowing systems to be rigged to actually sway an election with no possible way to detect it after the fact.

I second this.

I'm sure that millions of illegal aliens are clamoring for the chance to stand in line with their legal neighbors, whistle past the guards and lie their asses off to people with badges, just so they can punch a ballot. Makes worlds of sense.

The satisfaction of voting in a rigged election would be well worth the risk of deportation, I'm sure. ;)

Maybe there are employers who accept those little "I Voted" stickers as a legal document for the I-9 paperwork.

Mm-Mm, That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

That's what I voted for!
6 TIMES!

If you think that voting illegally is going to get you more benefits and rewards, then the incentive is there...

1. Republicans didn't invent gerrymandering. The Democratic-Republican Party of Mass. did. Or at least gave birth to the nomer. Irellevant though. Fact remain that an agressive push for gerrymandering after the Republican state sweep correlated with the new census in 2010 is what lead to a solid GOP advantage in the house, in spite of fewer votes.

2. What's an IgniantRobbieZoolander and why do you name your screenshot that?

Gerrymandering you say?

The Florida Legislature illegally redrew boundaries defining congressional districts to benefit the Republican Party, a circuit court judge ruled Thursday.

The League of Women Voters, along with a coalition of voters, challenged the state's Republican-controlled Legislature after it redrew congressional district lines in 2012, suggesting boundaries were manipulated to benefit GOP candidates. Circuit Judge Terry Lewis, in a hard-hitting, 41-page ruling Thursday, accused political consultants of making "a mockery of the Legislature's transparent and open process of redistricting." The judge said the state's 5th Congressional District, held by Rep. Corrine Brown (D), and 10th Congressional District, held by Dan Webster (R), must be redrawn. Districts affected by the adjustments also will need to be redrawn.

That's why everyone should be required to put a lightning rod on his tin-foil hat.

And the NSA should be spending its time investigating UFO sightings rather than recording our communications.

No method is going to make everyone happy. I'm starting to think all states should just be divided in to a square grid to allocate the districts. Number of squares in the grid based on the population of the state.
Or just no districts at all, as far as national representation.

After every census there's a mad scramble to redraw the districts. Whomever is in power at the time does the most cheating, of course.

The whole thing costs us millions and is just another way to screw us.

That's why I have refused to participate in the last two censuses. This last one was particularly disgusting, because they were trying to collect all sorts of information that was absolutely none of their business.

The best weapon we have at present is simple refusal to participate. In ANYTHING the assholes in Washington want us to do.

Practice this mantra. "Fuck you. Whatever you want, I'm opposed to it on principle. Now get off my front porch before I let the dog out."

Funny how it all works out in the end. Don't like your district? Move.

Tell the truth and shame the Devil. The niggers needed a black district, so the 10th and 5th swapped some folks to make the numbers work. Terry Lewis is a half-wit state judge whose ruling means shit.

You know, people are basically shitty. It’s when they prove it over and over again that it gets obnoxious.

We live in a very special time right now. At no other time in history has there been such mass disillusionment in terms of reliance on governing functions.

Most people don’t want to come to terms with that. It’s been proven over and over again that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes, but most people don’t like to look at naked emperors. In the process of turning around to avert their eyes, they saw the discotheques and a few other things and latched onto them.

There’s no reason to assume that my idea of what‘s better would really be better. I resent it when other people try to inflict their ideas of betterness on me. I don’t think they know. And I can’t see any authority on the horizon that’s got any answers that seem worthwhile. Most of the things that are suggested are probably detrimental to your mental health.

Organized religions by their very natures are misleading. The bottom line is always money. What that’s got to do with your spiritual well-being still eludes me. It’s always the bucks, no matter how they disguise it.

If you need that sort of assistance to keep yourself together, you may be paying a higher rate to a fake religion than you would to a psychotherapist. Which is not to say that a psychotherapist is going to give you any better value per dollar either. lf you’re going to deal with reality, you’re going to have to make one big discovery: Reality is something that belongs to you as an individual.

If you wanna grow up, which most people don’t, the thing to do is take responsibility for your own reality and deal with it on your own terms. Don’t expect that because you pay some money to somebody else or take a pledge or join a club or run down the street or wear a special bunch of clothes or play a certain sport or even drink Perrier water, it’s going to take care of everything for you.

Because it all comes from inside. As a matter of fact, that’s where it stays.

Yeah,

I'm not taking any advice from Zappa.

He named his kids Dweezil and Moon Unit...

They are old enough to legally change their names if they want, or just ask people to call them something else. Apparently they don't want to.
