The Retaking of Aine OOC

Eck, we can even make a time pocket and snatch our present Ain characters from that project for a couple of minutes - Ain time - and have them live a complete adventure in a parallel world.

When they returned, they could only have a faint memory of what had happened and form some kind of silent bond but without mentioning anything to the members of the Ain cast. With the exception of the occasional whisper around a bonfire or in a quiet surrounding.

Then, they must remain on the present realm in which they already are.
How can we come with a solution to plant this story in the Ain realm?

Change the setting. Adjust the characters. Basically make a whole new story.

I would like to keep my character as he is, J. I´ve put a lot of work in him. Refit the world? Fine. In what way? Warp forward time? If so, we must question WS about how much time she thinks the arc of her idea would take to fulfill.

Warp back? That wouldn´t make sense.

When I say change the world, I mean like move to a different kingdom, preferably one that has had little or no contact with anything that's in the current storyline. We could easily keep the characters the same. All we would have to do to them is change a little bit of their background.

I can work with that. In fact, I didn´t even wanted to maintain the characters in Ain.
But change background? Why?

To explain why they are where they are.

But that would be easily achieved by stating they had already crossed paths with each other during the Ain Retake. Since both our characters are from races with a long life-span we could simply add a decade or two to the age of our characters.

My character is a traveler and yours is (probably) the last of his race; what would keep him anywhere?

That is one possibility, but it would require that we know what events took place during the retaking. Seeing a how said events have yet to occur, we don't know. It would be just as easy to modify the backgrounds of the characters.

For example, instead of my character having been present when his village was attacked, he would have been out on a "hunt," his prey having lead him to a far away kingdom, so far in fact that no one knows of the existance of Ain or the Talarines. With that change in mind, my character would not have lost his memory nor would he be trailing after the Talarine horde to get revenge.

We could also assume that they meet again in a land so far away from Ain that mentioning that kingdom is pointless, as they would be considered jokers talking about a nonexistent land. That would take off the table any natural curiosity locals could have. And simply not comment the past adventures of the two in front of others would be a simple answer. If the Ain thread suddenly revived, we could add depth to this other project.

Well, I must be off. It's nearly 4 am here, and of course I'm tired. I wasn't joking about being offline for a week starting Wednesday; I really will be. I most likely will not have Internet access for a week, but like all things, that is subject to change.

it would be an honour to welcome you aboard, WS. You´ve gave an excelent impression of your work and it is always a plus to have someone with so much experience collaborating on any project.

I would like that. The universe created for Ain was very interesting and I think everybody taking part of it gave some time of thought to it. It would be a shame to ash it.

Besides, I don´t wan´t to foil Jedi´s hope.

When I created the race and my character, I put some effort in it to make it as much "add-on" as possible. The race and its world are created to fit almost everywhere and anywhere.

For now, I would like to propose that we move our efforts to another thread, to stop hijacking this one.

Care to suggest a title? Anyone? Haven´t given it much thought. Yet.

Hey, I don't mind. Hijack this thread all you want. For the moment it can serve as the OOC for both until you have a definite storyline and RP in mind. Then you can branch off.

Wolfsister, I'll speak directly with you since Jedi apparently fell off the map for a few days. And because I assume you will be joining me and Jedi in my *clears throat* project, I will start (thank you very much for your permission) using this OOC thread to laying down my ideas about will be my future thread.

I won't be opening it before the 15th of June, in order to put together a few things, like the enemy race bio, that I will make available here.

The events of this story will take place east of Ain - I will put here a map with the relevant territories highlighted (I'll be using a map available on wikipedia, with a decent size to work on) - where a small land is under siege by the Morg.
Although the land is officially recognized by other neighbouring kingdoms (at least by those presently at a safe distance from any immediate threat) as part of the Morg empire, a resistance wages a guerilla war against the invaders for more than a decade without any outside support, except for the occasional weapons shipment smuggled across the border from some distant realm.

Wofsister, I'm toying with the idea to have my PC as a front line fighter, with Jedi's elf (if he chooses so) as a supporter for the athalan to wreck chaos among the Morg troops. A third character will be most welcome.

Think about this, share your thoughts and lets get this show on the road.

Well, I make a pretty good assassin. That is, if you need a third charry on your side. I'd be able to also make a charry for the enemy too, should I come to understand the Morg better.
