The Retaking of Aine OOC

Now you also look like someone who is tripping a small sugar fury...

And you also seem to be a little down on your forum activity, lately. I´ve noticed the forum is a little slow. And lots of people seem to be... absent.

Eh, I've found something else to occupy my time while I wait for something to happen here. It takes up a lot of time, thus keeping me from constantly refreshing the forum and getting agitated that nothing is happening.

But yeah, the forum is very quiet. Too quiet for my tastes. I just had to put up a post to let people know I'm still lurking.

I wonder what would that activity be.:)

Maybe we could make a collaborative work between the two of us. We seem to be able to understand pretty much each other and have similar likings when it comes to RPG´s (not the machine guns!).

The activity is harmless. I've taken up playing an MMORPG called Eve Online. Look it up, it's pretty cool.

As for the collaborative, maybe. What ya got in mind?

MMORPG´s are not my thing. When dealing with a computer I prefer the more standard RPG-based action game (Diablo/Diablo II/Neverwinter Nights(the original!)/etc, etc, etc). I also enjoy the management/building - Caesar series, Starcraft, Warcraft... Old school, for me, please. Now, when dealing with people I rather use the old D&D party game. Or GURPS.

Regarding the collaborative work... Perhaps a spin off from Ain? I´m open to suggestions. I only demand that we have a plot lined out with a beggining, middle and an ending.

Star Craft is fun. I wondering when they'll have Star Craft II done? They are only just putting it in the beta testing phase.

As for the collaborative, let's take some time to think about it.

It's nearly 3:30 in the morning here and I'm really tired. So, I'll say goodnight for now.

I'm not sure that that will help Qyron. I had a very specific beginning, middle and end for this... and where did that leave us?

Not fault of your own Wolfsister, but the story has stalled a little. It's not dead, not by a long-shot, especially if I have anything to say about it.

So, how about some IC work folks?

I'm not sure that that will help Qyron. I had a very specific beginning, middle and end for this... and where did that leave us?

I didn´t, in any way, said that this project lacked any of those, Wolfsister. And I wasn´t speaking about the Ain thread; I was talking directly to Jedi.

I personally think that this work was born a defective machine, right from the beginning with its original creator. Who, by the way, fell out of the map...

The story had merit to begin with, even with QM, or else I wouldn't have joined in the first place. The story only got better with Wolfsister in control.

The primary problem that has pleagued this story and every other story in this forum is that people lose interest and disappear after they've signed up and the story is under way. When that happens, it really pisses me off, especially when I've put so much work into creating a character for the story. As it stands, I've yet to have a single character go through to full development. Not one story that I've joined has survived long enough. The only story that I've joined that has even come close to finishing is the Illusion Vale and it's no where near ready to say "The End"! Hell, if the Illusion Vale were a book/novel, I'd say it's still in the first two chapters!

Now excuse me while I go vent my frustrations elsewhere. *stomps away grumbling*

Don´t take my words too literally, Jedi. I should have said that this was an idea put together on a Saturday. Work started on Saturday doesn´t have a good beginning and you can never see its ending.

hey, jedi! crawl out of that hole you're hiding in! I got an idea I want to share with you, you trekkie wannabe... :D

"Trekkie wannabe"? "Trekkie wannabe"!? Just for that, I'm going to disappear for a week starting Wednesday. You have until then to convey your message. Make it fast.

I figured that would hit you on a soft spot... Remember that idea I mentioned the other day? Of a collaborative work? I just got a plot.

Well, it can be worked out as a spin off from the Ain. Or it can be a post-Ain adventure.

I thought about a story where a small country is fighting back after several centuries under the rule of an invading people, but is vastly outnumbered and lacks resources and tactics to actually pose a real threat to the ruling invaders.

The occupiers have greater numbers, better weapons but are a brutish and unrefined kind, more prone to fight than to come up with a decent strategy, which is why the resistance is being so successful in their efforts. If you consider successful being a pain in the ass...

Why not adding (I want to) our present characters to this fight, from the side of the rebels? A good front line warrior (mine) and a good supporter fighter (yours), acting as generals (or simple mercenary brawn) to tip the conflict?

Now speak your mind.

Sounds interesting. The only problem I see is that it could not interfere with the current storyline of Ain. It would either have to be an alternate universe, it which case we might as well start from scratch, or it would have to be so far in the past/future that the events of the current story have little to no impact.

I do have an idea for a collaborative work as well, based around a character that I've tried to use in a storyline here twice with no success. It is of course my Star Wars character.

I had this idea of having the characters fall in a dimensional pit... or meet a group of rebels in the middle of nowhere running from their enemies through a dimensional gate. With that, we could even make room a a third PC, like a mage or magic wielder of some sort, to cast a translation speech or something like that, to enable communication.

Eck, we can even make a time pocket and snatch our present Ain characters from that project for a couple of minutes - Ain time - and have them live a complete adventure in a parallel world.

When they returned, they could only have a faint memory of what had happened and form some kind of silent bond but without mentioning anything to the members of the Ain cast. With the exception of the occasional whisper around a bonfire or in a quiet surrounding.
