Texans may not have good taste but they damn well seem to have common sense. A seemingly scarce commodity in Washington D.C.
* Texas’ September 2010 unemployment rate was 8.1 percent, down from 8.3 percent in August, but equal to the rate one year ago.
* Texas total nonfarm employment increased by 3,700 jobs from August to September. Between September 2009 and September 2010, Texas gained 152,800 jobs.
* The U.S. lost 95,000 total nonfarm jobs from August to September 2010, but when government job losses are excluded the private sector gained 64,000 jobs.
* The U.S. unemployment rate was 9.6 percent in September 2010, the same as the previous month.
* The Texas unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for 45 consecutive months.
Smart folks my dying ass.
All that being true Texas is facing MASSIVE BUDGET DEFICITS not to mention two of the biggest blowhard (and not a championship amongst 'em) professional sports owners in the world.
