As I was saying to Lilac last night, I find the whole concept of a debt ceiling to be absolutely hilarious.

It's like arbitrarily deciding to make the kilogram heavier to make people weigh less.

What happened in Norway is very sad and I hope everyone involved comes through the best they can I think it's also sad that that's really my only thought on it. It's regrettable that, in this day and age, one becomes a bit numb to that sort of event. Of course, it could partially be because I have no tie to Norway and am so far from it. And yes, you should be sorry!! Racist!!! but really, it never even occurred to me because...you know, why? I don't see why any Muslim group would have it out against...Norway? I feel more like it's something some World Whale Protector group would do

I am still clinging to a fervent hope that the politicians will stop being such cocks, lower their voices, and confer like mature individuals and come to a functional compromise.

Seriously though, there is NO rule against forwarding a PM. And what I did forward was only excerpts, and had no name attached.

There is a rule against posting someone else's PM in public-- with the handle attached.

There's no rule against talking about a PM in public.

And yes, I have certainly learned a lesson about challenging alpha men. They don't take it well at all. I have to stop being astonished by the sheer, mountainous, size of the reaction. I truly, humbly, apologise to the forum, which didn't deserve this.

I am sorry about this post although it is not of my making. This Perv guy has a crush and feels the need to defend me anytime somebody attacks my person. I am a big boy and can take care of myself. I did apologize to the forum for allowing myself to get dragged into a pissing match with Stella that belonged in the Fetish Forum and had nothing to do with this Forum. I think it was bad form by both of us. But sometimes shit happens that later after you cool down you want to kick yourself in the ass for.

I have been open an honest and like most people I have my character flaws but I do apologize for things I unintentionally do wrong as I am aware that I am not perfect. It is amusing to note that there are a lot of very judgmental people here who are very quick to point out others flaws and cast insult yet never admit to their own, but such is life.

I have never cast intentional insult unless I am insulted and attacked first, in this I always try to be a gentleman. I am quick to forgive, forget and move on. I neither hate nor am angry at Stella. She picked a fight in defense of somebody she thought needed help and it caused pain. In this I think she had good intentions but she made a mistake and unless she has no soul, which I do not believe to be the case, I know she feels bad it went bad like it did.

Well, it is a unique arrangment set up by Congress so they wouldn't have to agree to each item of expenditure undertaken by the various branches/ organizations of gov't. I mean, Italy, Spain, Ireland, GREECE, they're basically facing a similar crisis, but under different terms. If nothing else, their credit rating sucks, especially as opposed to the US. The US has a AAA credit rating- US gov't bonds are considered to be the safest in the world...and that's by fiat/custom and, well, a happy confluence of events after WW2 where the US became the world's (read Europe and Japan, primarily) banker.

I really do need to go look up what happened previous times the debt ceiling was reached... The issue here is that aforementioned credit rating. Some think (and the rating agencies have threatened to do this) that the US' credit rating will take a hit, which will make borrowing more expensive for the US gov't, which in turn will make borrowing more expensive for the entire populace of the US...
