The Submission of Anna (closed for cum_inside)

Anna chewed her lip thoughtfully. It was obviously a test but Anna wasn’t sure what he would accomplish with this - the relationship between them was awkward but not truly strained. They would maintain a professional relationship and that was it.

Responding to Carter was much easier so she texted: I Just wanted to enjoy my pastry while it was still hot, be back shortly!

Then she switched over to Josh’s conversation once more. Her fingers paused over the keyboard, debating on what to type.

Finally, she said: Hello, Mr Williams. Respectfully, I feel as though I’m the one who should be making an apology. My inability to hold my liquor meant that I said some things I shouldn’t have. I apologize if I offended you - Carter always says my lack of a filter is both an asset and a liability - this time it is the latter. Despite my untoward behaviour last night I assure you that I am capable of acting like a professional adult.

She sent that first message and then continued to ponder over his request to meet her to apologize. She did not feel that it was necessary but his text made it sound like less of a request and more of an unspoken demand - it was a test but she knew he had the potential to make her life hell if she didn’t agree. It might be seen as unprofessional to meet a man in his hotel room and Anna knew she really couldn’t trust him to behave, but if she stayed in the hallway it should be fine. She could stop and clear the air and be back upstairs within minutes.

Anna stood up with resolve. Carter was waiting for her and she was ready to spend the day with her man. She crossed the short distance to the hotel and double checked the room number he’d texted her. She was always someone to get things done relatively quickly so she strode down the hallway.

2007...2008...2009...2010...

She’d just raised her fist to rap on the door when a distinctly deep male groan sounded from within and she heard the words “Baby....suck...oh shit...” Anna froze, unsure of what to do. A familiar tone answered him back but Anna couldn’t place it for a few moments. She felt like a creep, but she wrinkled her nose and pressed her ear tightly against the wood trying to make out any further descriptors. Mostly all she heard was moans and grunts, both his and hers, but eventually she did hear the sounds of their fucking come to an end and Josh’s voice say, “we always have such a good time, Megan. I think this will be a wonderful fucking partnership!” He rumbled with a hearty laugh.

Anna jerked back from the door like she’d been burned. She didn’t know why, but the thought of them here together like this made nausea roll in her gut. She’d already suspected, but to have it confirmed for her in such a manner made her feel odd. She almost tripped on her own feet in her haste to turn and dash back to the elevator. She collapsed against the reflective glass inside and let out a sigh, clutching her rolling stomach.

With one hand, she held her phone up and texted I’ll be seeing you next week when you arrive in town, Mr. Williams. It seems you were a little busier than you let on. I’m okay with calling us even - if you still feel strongly about this feel free to text me later and we can set up brunch.

Happy with that, Anna returned to her hotel room. It was almost immediate that her phone went off but she ignored it for now, practically throwing herself at Carter and kissing him deeply. If he was miffed about her odd behaviour he didn’t show it, pulling her into his arms and wrapping his arms around her in a tight squeeze. After he released her, she pulled back to smile at him. She hoped it didn’t look as fake as she knew it was, still feeling that undescribable nausea in her belly.

A betting man would have told you it seemed an awful lot like jealousy. Anna would have denied that - that was preposterous! But it did feel like she was a teenager again and her best friend had stolen the boy she was crushing on out from under her nose.

But that was impossible. Wasn’t it?

Saturday Morning - Anna returns with breakfast

Josh and Megan were basking in the afterglow of another glorious fuck session. They were made for each other. Each having a huge sexual appetite that never seemed to be really quenched.

It had been a short while since he received a text from Anna and he wasn't sure if she was coming or not. They lay on the bed, kissing when his phone pinged and he picked it up, reading Anna's text. Shit she must have been right outside our door and heard us," he muttered, showing Megan the message.

"We'll have to rethink this Anna issue," Megan said pressing her lips against his. "And since she's not coming, what do you say we go another round."

Josh laughed. "let me respond and then we'll see."

Quickly typing his message, "Anna thank you for your consideration. I look forward to meeting you and Carter at your office next week. I hope we can find some time to talk privately about this and other issues. My best to you until we meet."

"That should give her something to think about," he chuckled and turned to Megan. "Now my sweet bitch what exactly did you have in mind for a lazy Saturday morning?"

***************************************************************

Carter was becoming a bit concerned as to when Anna was going to return to the hotel. When she did return, he gave her a bright smile. "I love your outfit baby," he murmured as she approached him rather quickly and gave him a deep kiss.

She felt so good in his arms, her body molded into his cocoon-like embrace. He smelled the Boston Crème and when she pulled out of his arms, he smiled. "Do you have something for me?" She gave him a quizzical look as if he interrupted her thoughts. She smiled and then let out a soft laugh, handing him the bakery bag telling him she forgot she was holding them.

Anna seemed to be off in a little world of thought as he wolfed down the pastry and finished his coffee. The pastry was enough to hold him off his hunger for awhile as he joined Anna who sat on the edge of the bed, watching him eat while she sipped her coffee.

"Thanks for the pastry. It hit the spot." He looked into her bright emerald eyes and saw them twinkling. Putting his arm around her he kissed her cheek. "I love the way your eyes light up Anna. They make me feel good and happy." She gave him a sweet smile as he added, "We have the whole day to relax and do what we want. No work, no Edward, no Josh Williams. Just you and me baby. Any suggestions what you would like to do or places to explore in the city? I heard they have a fabulous mall downtown with some fancy clothing stores. What do you say we hit some of them?"

Anna nodded, responding, “that sounds wonderful. The only real item on my list is a new purse. I only brought enough money specifically for that so I wouldn’t be tempted - I have a bit of an addiction for shoes, you see,” she began to ramble, halting that train of thought before it got the better of her.

“I’m looking forward to spending this day with you,” she admitted softly. “I just want to explore the city a bit and then maybe we’ll finish off the trip with some fabulous sex on every possible surface in this hotel room,” she said wickedly, dancing away from his reach. She snickered.

Carter disappeared into the washroom to finish getting ready. Anna perched on the side of the bed and returned to her texts, finally reading the one she had received earlier from Josh. Nothing too surprising: he did want to get together next week without Carter.

For a moment she worried about it - maybe her judgement of him was off but she didn’t think that he’d do anything outright to hurt her; his behaviour might be kind of sleazy at times but it was nothing she hadn’t dealt with before. She wanted to retain her independence and being able to handle Josh Williams without Carter would prove that she could handle herself. Carter might not like it, but they weren’t always going to agree, anyway. Anna was a grown woman and she could do as she pleased. Whatever she could do to help Anderson & Clemens (and herself) get ahead. She had a much more level head on her shoulders today and she resolved not to let herself lose control again like she had last night.

She texted: sounds good. Let me know when you’re free; I’ll do my best to fit you into my busy schedule, Mr. Williams.

Carter rejoined her and she quickly put her phone away, standing to meet him. She grabbed her purse and slipped back into the flats she’d chosen for the day. She held out her hand for him to take and with that, they were ready for a full day of exploration.

They spent a few hours wandering through the mall, stopping in a store here and there. She was pleased to see that Carter was an active participant, providing suggestions and giving feedback on the items of clothing she was drawn to. She didn’t buy anything other than a pair of navy peep-toed shoes with tiny gems covering the entire outside of the shoe and a white Michael Kors authentic leather purse she’d been saving up for for a long while but she was extremely pleased by the end of the afternoon, feeling happy with the items she’d bought plus the restraint she’d managed to show in her spending for the day.

They stopped for dinner at an Italian restaurant tucked onto a busy street corner in the heart of downtown. The food was delicious and Anna almost moaned as she tasted that first bite, Carter watching her with mirth in his eyes from across the table. After that, Anna swore she was so full that she would never eat again but her eyes just happened to pan over a building a few doors down named The Middle Spoon.

The bloated feeling disappeared immediately. It was a restaurant chain she had found once with her friend Catherine on a road trip across the country as their high school graduation gift to each other. They’d spent a month just driving and seeking out adventure and The Middle Spoon had been a hidden gem they’d found accidentally in Boston after spending the afternoon lost and confused. They only served desserts and very light dinner fare. They were most widely known for the desserts, though, ranging from things like the chocolate lava cake, apple crumble, freshly churned homemade ice cream to the most decadent cheesecakes you ever did see. They had about twelve regular menu items and three more that rotated by the day depending on the mood of the baker that morning.

They also served drinks, specializing in making their own wine. It was a beautiful place to sit and kill a few hours and just relax. Anna turned excitedly to Carter and grasped his arm with both hands. “Can we go get dessert, baby? Please? I’d absolutely love it if we could stop there!”

Carter did not refuse her, smiling at her exuberance and letting her pull him along straight through the doors. They sat down in a quiet booth near the corner and Anna curled into his side while they perused the menu. Anna had probably visited about three times while she and Catherine had been in Boston and Anna got something new each time. She planned to work her way through the menu, slowly. This time she was between the carrot cake and the peanut butter pie, trying to figure out what she was most in the mood for.

Eventually, she settled on the carrot cake and Carter ended up getting the lemon pavlova (which she also hadn’t tried), so she snuck a couple bites of his even as she worked on her own dessert. It was heaven on a spoon - now that she knew it was here Anna would be finding lots of excuses to join Regina and Edward on this end of the country for both business and friendly visitations.

This time, Anna really did feel stuffed but it was so worth it. Her blissful expression lasted all the way back to the hotel and up to the room, Anna and Carter chatting between themselves happily. Their first real outing as a couple had gone off without a hitch.

As soon as the door opened to their suite, Anna stepped out of her shoes and sighed in relief. She padded over to the bed and dropped her bags down to the side of it and flopped backwards, spread-eagled with her legs hanging off the edge. She closed her eyes and just focused on what a wonderful day it had been, even though she genuinely hadn’t been able to get Josh and his words out of the back of her mind all day. He was always there; reminding her that struggle might soon be coming her way whether she wanted it or not. That funny feeling of “definitely not jealousy” surfaced everytime her mind happened to wander to Megan being with him today in the hotel. Retail therapy had worked wonders to staunch those negative thoughts, though, and Anna knew something else that might help as well.

She blinked open her eyes and leaned up on one elbow. “You know what’s best after a long day of shopping? A nice, hot, steamy bath. But sometimes that’s just not possible, so I’ll take a nice, hot steamy fucking if you’d rather!” She invited.

Saturday - Exploring the city and then Anna

Carter smiled when he walked out of the washroom, seeing Anna sitting on the bed putting her phone away. He wondered who she might be texting but he didn't ask as she got up and slipped on her flats. He welcomed her hand and they headed out to explore the city.

As they left the hotel, he noticed a man at the front desk who looked a lot like Josh Williams. He shook his head and looked at Anna. "I swear that man standing at the front desk looks like Josh Williams." Anna looked and he swore her hand squeezed him and she looked and then told him she didn't think it was him. Carter laughed. "I must have that bastard on my mind."

He enjoyed having Anna hang onto his arm or holding hands as they walked through the downtown streets marveling at the architecture. A developer spent a lot of money renovating an old building into a four-story mall. The building, constructed in 1850 according to the sandstone heading across the main door, had so many different speciality shops. Carter could sense the excitement in Anna’s eyes as she surveyed the different stores. He was mostly a find and buy shopper, purchasing what he came for specifically and then leaving. But with Anna it was a joy to watch her shop and even offering some suggestions. When he tried to pay for her purchases, she shushed him and told him she was capable of paying for these herself. He liked her independent attitude and had a feeling they were going to go far together in business and personally.

Dinner at the Italian restaurant was pleasant and very enjoyable. It was such a treat to be with Anna outside the business world. He started imagining what it might be like to have her by his side all the time. His thoughts were broken when she suggested they stop at The Middle Spoon for dessert. He was full from the lasagna but he heeded to her wishes as she told him about her and a friend finding the store in Boston.

He decided on a lemon pavlova with a glass of Merlot while Anna chose the carrot cake. He smiled when she acted like a small child, dipping her spoon into his dessert and tasting some. When he offered to give her his, she laughed and told him she had her own dessert. “This is just a teaser for me. I plan to have more dessert when we get back to the room.” Her playful smile and grin was a surefire look that said silently she knew exactly what he was alluding too.

They walked hand in hand back to the hotel. Carter thought of the man he saw at the counter earlier and made a mental note to ask him when he visited his office next week. If it was him, why didn’t he say something at the party about staying in the same hotel. Maybe it was just someone who looked like him or maybe it was just a coincidence that they were staying in the same hotel. His thoughts were broken when they arrived at their suite, watching Anna flop on the bed as if exhausted. There was no way he was going to let this woman out of having a long bout of sexual fun.

He grinned as he approached the bed, seeing her legs spread wide open inviting him. Crawling onto the bed, he hovered over her, looking into her smiling face and then he leaned down to kiss her passionately on the lips. Their combined groan filled the room as
he supported his weight on his hands, hovering over her while her hands grabbed his cheeks and held his lips against hers.

Breaking the kiss, they both took a deep breath. “You are one beautiful woman,” he whispered as he moved backward and stood on the edge of the bed. Grabbing her tight jeans, he laughed. “You are more beautiful without these.” Tugging and pulling the tight-fitting pants, he smiled when they finally came off and he threw them over his shoulder. Grabbing her panties, he easily pulled them off and stared at her sex as she spread her legs wide open again with unabashed modesty.

“The rest of your clothes can wait baby,” he moaned, picking up one foot and kissing the inside of it and then began working his lips up to her knee and then along the inside of her thigh. It was going to be a long night of lust for sure as he licked lightly at the soft lips guarding her sex before dipping his tongue inside, hearing the pleasurable moans when he flicked it over her clit.

Anna had never been so satisfied by the time they both had their sexual appetite fulfilled and settled to sleep. They fit perfectly together in that way - their desires and frequent bouts of sexual hunger seemed to match perfectly. She was insatiable with Carter next to her - Anna was almost confident that they’d had more sex in the last three days than her and Simon had in the last six months.

She turned her face deeper into her pillow and let out a loud groan when her alarm went off the next morning. She could hear the shower running and the bed was already empty next to her when she tossed out a hand to feel for her bedmate. She blinked open her eyes a few times, yawning and stretching like a cat before getting up and crossing the room to the shower. She hadn’t put her panties back on after they’d finished last night, so she was able to step right into the shower behind Carter.

Anna wrapped her arms around his hips and pressed her body into his strong back, breasts pillowed between them. She ghosted her lips across this shoulder blades before resting her cheek on the notch of his spine where it curved gently into his neck. “You should have woken me,” she mumbled.

He turned in her arms and wrapped his own around her shoulders, pulling her in even closer. “You looked so comfortable,” he husked. They shared a passionate kiss in the steamy heat of the shower.

They were efficient after that: washing quickly and climbing out to dress and finish their morning routine. Their flight was leaving in just over two hours so they didn’t have as much time to play around as Anna might have liked. She pouted as she packed her belongings back in the suitcase. She didn’t want to leave - this week with Carter had been great despite the rocky start and she hoped they could do it again soon, minus the business part. Anna would love to getaway to somewhere tropical and be able to laze on the beach with him, swim, sleep, or do whatever the hell they wanted for a week. It was a topic she might have to breach later.

The plan ride itself was not too bad. Anna was finding out that she loved to fly - that feeling as the plane took-off and found a place among the clouds where she could look down and observe the earth with an awe-filled expression was quickly becoming one of her favourite things. She told Carter as much and he did promise that “there will be a lot more of this in the future, baby,” whatever that meant.

She was happy; feeling like a kid in a candy store again. She almost always got this feeling with Carter - the nervous excitement, yes, but mostly the feeling of deep satisfaction and joy - he was a wonderful addition to her life and he brought a sense of adventure with him that Anna truly loved as she worked to discover the man he was. She couldn’t wait to explore this life with him.

They were just standing at baggage claim when Anna remembered that she had to run over to her old apartment and get her the rest of her things. That reminder brought up another issue. She couldn’t crash on Emily’s couch forever - where was she going to put all her stuff? Anna really needed to find a place to live before this got out of hand.

She sighed, muttering “oh shit,” into the space between them. She clutched at her carry-on and excused herself from Carter for a minute to call both Emily and Simon. Simon had no issue with her coming over and gathering her stuff and Emily laughed her off when she apologized and explained the situation: that Anna had been a slacker and not even looked for an apartment while she was away. Emily said, “girl, I know you were having too much fun with your new man in the city. You can stay as long as you like! I’ll have dinner ready when you get home!”

Anna returned to Carter and cuddled into his side. “I did something stupid,” she said. “I was supposed to be apartment hunting while we were gone and I never once looked at any postings,” she said. “Emily’s cool about it but I can’t stay on her couch for too long and moving back in with my ex is something you’d put your foot down to, I assume?” She teased. “I’ll have to get looking this evening after I get all my stuff from Simon.”

Sunday morning - The Flight home

The plane take off was smooth and efficient as it climbed into the scattered clouds above. When they reach the cruising out altitude Carter looked out over the landscape below interrupted every so often by cloud cover obscuring his view.

Anna, sitting beside him, looked happy and restful even after the torrid sex last night. He told her that there would be many more trips like this in the future. Her eyes grew large and her smile widened. And he knew she was thinking of more travel with Carter.

Reclining his head against the head rest, Carter thought about the previous week spent with Anna. They had gotten off to a rocky start but by the end of the week they were very close. And to him, The sex last night was very special and spectacular.

Closing his eyes he could see Anna lying on the bed while he teased and fingered her pussy until she squirmed on the bed in a wild orgasm. Then, stripping off his clothes he had climbed on top of sinking his cock deep into her cunt. Even at 30,000 feet he could feel the pressure of her muscles squeezing his cock. As his hips thrust against hers he managed to slip her polkadot dress over her head. The sight of her heaving breasts were like a magnet, drawing his lips to the hardened nipples. His hips thrust harder against him, his cock pounding deep inside of her until he released his precious seed deep within her.

They had made love again and Carter was shaken from his erotic daydreams when the airline attendant announced that they were getting ready to land. At the luggage reclaim area Carter wondered where Hannah was going to stay since she moved out of Simon’s apartment. Before he had a chance to ask her, and offer her to stay at his house, she told him she was staying with a friend But she had to start looking for an apartment. “If you need a more permanent place to stay, you can always move into my spacious house.” She thanked him for the offer but for now she was going to stay at her friend Emily’s house.

Carter retrieved his car and drove an hour to Emily‘s house. Before she got out of the car he leaned over and took her into his arms, kissing her passionately. He did not want to let her go but he knew he had to. On the drive home he thought about Anna and all that it happened to them within the last week. He had a feeling that this relationship was growing stronger with each passing day and he looked forward to seeing her in the morning at the office.

Anna and Emily had a quick bite to eat before they both popped over to Simon’s. Anna didn’t have a lot of things and could probably manage on her own, but Emily insisted. Anna suspected it had more to do with the fact that Emily believed she may have to mediate - that things might get less than friendly between the two exes.

Instead, she was pleasantly surprised to see Simon had painstakingly packed each and every item she owned into boxes, everything wrapped or protected from damage. She smiled in amazement when she caught him folding in the flaps of one last box in the living room. He laughed and rubbed the back of his head, nervously.

“I mean, it’s the least I could have done. We’ve been together for so long and the way we broke up was shitty. I know you had a busy week but I didn’t know if you’d bring him here and...” His words cut off.

Anna felt embarrassment rise to the top of her stomach. Here was this lovely man she’d dated for four years and only broken up with last week thinking she’d bring her new boyfriend of almost a week (it sounded distasteful when she put it that way) into the home they’d shared for years. It made her wonder just how wrapped up in her own life she’d really become that he would think she could be so shallow.

The smile dropped off her face and she responded in dismay. “Oh, Simon, I would never be that cruel to you. I’m so sorry things had to work out like this but I never meant to hurt you. I wouldn’t just bring him over like that. In fact, I was going to come alone but Emily insisted - you know how stubborn she is - like a bull in a china shop!” This broke the tension and all three of them laughed, Emily disappearing to load one of the boxes into the car.

They worked silently for a while and when the last box was loaded, Anna dusted off her hands and said, “well, that’s it. Maybe I should just take one more look around to make sure I got everything.” Simon nodded.

Anna wandered through the apartment, dragging her fingers over the furniture she’d come to love just as much as the man who owned it. The sunlight streaming in illuminated the kitchen they’d spent so much time in over the years and highlighted the photos of them he still had placed sporadically around the apartment. Their bedroom was bare of most things considering the items that had populated it were mostly hers. When she pulled open the closet, her heart dropped to see that it was empty of her things and replaced with his mystery woman’s clothes. Although it made her sad, it also made Anna smile weakly. Simon was happy. Anna was happy. This really was the best decision for everyone involved.

The tears that spilled over were more for mourning the loss of a love she’d spent so many years on - Simon was a huge part of her life for so long she really didn’t quite know who she was without him but she was learning slowly. She was anticipating the future and where her relationship with Carter could go. She wiped them away and sniffled a bit before heading back out to the car, checking each room on the way. He really had gotten everything.

Emily and Simon were chattering about a local band that was playing tonight in excitement. They stopped abruptly when she joined them and Anna felt a little bad. "Don’t stop on my account - I’d love to see them myself so I totally get it,” she smiled. Both their shoulders sagged in relief. It didn’t have to be awkward.

Emily and Simon finished their conversation and Emily said her goodbyes. Simon and Anna stood awkwardly together in front of the car, fiddling with their fingers. They both started talking at the same time.

“Well...”

“So...”

The paused and laughed. Anna said, “you go first.”

Simon nodded and started to speak. “I need you to know that I love you, Anna. I may not be in love with you anymore but you’re family to me. I only want the best for you and this is it. I hope that it doesn’t come between us and make us awkward because the last thing I want is to lose you. Please don’t let this be the end of us.”

Anna sucked her lip into her mouth as her eyes watered dangerously again. She bowed her head and mumbled, “of course not, Simon. You’re my best friend,” she admitted. “I don’t want to lose you either. I’m really going to miss you. You always had a laugh or a smile and I was always happy with you. You always made me feel better. It’s just a shame that our lives took such a different turn but I’m so excited for you - I know you’ll be happy with her.”

They grew silent for a moment before she reached for the car door. She had just gotten it open when his hand curved around her waist and he pulled her back in to kiss her goodbye. It was all very platonic despite the romantic appearance of the kiss and Anna didn’t begrudge him it. It was ushering out their past and urging in a new era for them both.

Sunday Night / Monday Morning

Arriving home, Carter felt a bit tired from all the traveling and with a smile he thought of the sex with Anna. He chuckled pulling into the spacious four car garage thinking how they had a lot of sex but there was still so much more to discover. Rita and James came out of the house to grab his belongings, asking how the week went with Edward and Regina. They didn't know about Anna, at least, not yet.

Rita and James Conway were an older married couple who Carter hired three years ago. It was a great relationship having them working as a team rather than having employees who were single. Rita took care of the household chores and James the maintenance both inside and out. Plus James acted as Carter's chauffer when he needed one on occasion. They also hired as they saw fit, personnel to help with the upkeep of the rather spacious house and when Carter threw parties. So far they were working out fabulously and the one key reason he liked them so much, they didn't as questions or pry into his personal life. When he brought women to the house, they were very discrete and he thought that was a very admirable trait.

"The week was full of work and some relaxation," he answered as they gathered his suitcases. "How was everything here?"

Rita smiled. "Not too much happening around here except a few messages on the telephone."

Carter gave her a quizzical glance as they walked into the house. "Do you know who they were from?"

"Yes sir. I copied their names down on the notepad next to the phone. I really don't know why they called here unless they didn't have your cell phone number."

"Thanks Rita." Carter walked directly to the land line phone and picked up the pad. He smiled seeing the names. Marie Garnett, wife of a wealthy executive who loved to play around. He smiled thinking of the last time they were together. It was right before he met Annaleigh Brayden and he was pretty sure he knew what she wanted.

The next two names surprised him. Josh Williams and Megan Cartwright. What in the world were they doing calling him at his home number. He was sure Megan could have gotten it from Edward. When he listened to the messages, Marie was the only one who left him a message. Josh and Megan both said they would talk later in the week when they came to his office. He thought it pretty odd that they would call him at home. Carter decided not to return Marie's call and went into the kitchen where Rita had cooked a fabulous meal. They were joined by James and chatted about mundane things like how their kids were doing in their lives.

Afterwards, he retired to his study, looking over some of the work they had done at Edward's office and the profit / loss statements he prepared for the board. As he read through the material, his thoughts strayed to Anna, wondering how she was doing at Simon's apartment. A pang of jealousy coursed through him and he wondered if Simon had a change of heart and was trying to win Anna back. He hoped not. Anna was slowly occupying more of his waking thoughts and he wished she were with him now. "Maybe some day," he muttered getting up to fix a bourbon on the rocks.

Sleep that night was restful and when he woke in the morning, he put his arm out to touch Anna but she was not there. He was disappointed but he knew he had to give her space, at least, for now.

The office was empty as it usually was when he arrived. Joanna, the ever efficient personal secretary, had his mail sorted and neat stacks of papers he had to review. Being out of the office for a week meant a backlog of things he had to take care of. He looked out the window as the sun began to wake the city below and he wondered again about Anna. How as she doing at her friend, Emily's house. He wondered if she gave any more thought to his offer for her to stay at his house.

He dug into the piles and smiled when Joanna greeted him with a large cup of coffee. She asked about Anna and he smiled telling her everything went well. Joanna knew better than to press him on this issue and retreated to her office.

About 9 am, she buzzed him. "Ms. Brayden wants to know if you are available to review last weeks meetings?"

A wide grin crossed his face. "Yes tell her anytime is good for me." Sitting back in his leather chair, he put his hands behind his head and thought of seeing Anna again. But now it was in the workplace and he wondered if she was going to treat him differently.

Anna felt comfortable at Emily’s but she didn’t want it to be a long-term thing. That evening she spent hours combing through ads for apartment rentals but she wasn’t getting too far. Anything in the area of the city she wanted to be in was either too expensive or a shanty. She couldn’t seem to find a happy medium in her chosen budget. She went to bed frustrated and was up first thing in the morning with little sleep.

She still had sleepy eyes when she made it to her desk, depositing her things and dropping into her desk with a heaved sigh. She tilted her head back against the chair and closed her eyes, wondering what on earth she was going to do. When she was done with the pity party, Anna straightened up in the chair and reached for her phone.

She had some notes to go over with Carter about their meetings last week; things they needed to do, the items that had already been dealt with, and Josh Williams impending visit. Mostly though, she just really wanted to see Carter. She dialled Joanna and asked her if the man in charge was free. Joanna said nothing untoward, but she heard the mirth in her voice when she responded with “he’ll make time for you whenever you please, miss Brayden. Shall I tell him you’re on the way?”

Anna nodded absentmindedly before realizing Joanna couldn’t see her. “Yes, please. I’ll be right up.” Anna disconnected the line and smoothed our her skirt as she stood, grabbing her clipboard full of notes she’d accumulated throughout last week and final thoughts she’d come up with over the course of this morning when rest eluded her.

The elevator ride was short and it was only a couple minutes before she rapped gently on his open door with her knuckles. He looked up and smiled, gesturing her in. As an afterthought, she closed the door. Tentatively, Anna checked to see if any eyes were looking her way using her peripheral vision. Joanna’s head was buried in her appointment book as she talked to a client on the phone to schedule a meeting.

Anna leaned in and pecked his lips. She smiled. “Good morning, Mr. Anderson,” she winked.

“I have some notes we should probably talk about as well as what’s going to happen when Mr. Williams arrives. I want to be prepared to deal with him appropriately. I imagine you’re agreeable to that discussion?”

Monday Morning - Anna in his office

Carter saw the bright smile on Anna’s face but he also noticed the tiredness that seeped from her eyes. They both chuckled when she called him Mr. Anderson. “Good Morning to you to Ms. Brayden,” he answered in return. Carter wanted more than a kiss, pulling her into his arms, his eyes betraying his feelings. With one hand on her lower back and then other around her shoulders, he lowered her lips to hers with a certain hunger. Their lips pressed urgently against one another, tongues snaking out to tease. He thought of Joanna but knew she would never interrupt without first buzzing him. Breaking the kiss, they were both breathing just a tad harder. “I missed that this morning Anna and I missed giving you your breakfast too,” he whispered as he let her free of his grasp.

Touching the intercom, he asked Joanna to bring another cup of coffee for Anna and a refill pot of them. Then he turned to the long brown-haired woman he had made love to for the last week. “Yes, we need to go over our notes from last week.” They sat at the small conference table conferring when Joanna arrived with more coffee. When she left, they poured over their notes, losing track of time until Joanna buzzed on the intercom.

Carter stopped writing and looked at Anna. “You look tired today.” She told him of her late-night apartment hunting and nothing turned up. She added that while she liked staying at Emily’s place, she needed to find her own place. Carter smiled, thinking he would offer her his place again but then struck another idea.

“You could always move in with me,” he teased. But he knew she would refuse, at least for now as he added, “I know of a condo down by the Veranda Restaurant. You know where we had lunch with Edward. It’s in a renovated warehouse on the water and I’ve been told they have spectacular views of water.” He saw her eyes light up and then she argued that the cost was probably out of her range.

Carter smiled. She didn’t know he owned the entire building and he also had his own condo in the building. He used it on some occasions when it was late and he didn’t want to drive to his house. It was also useful when he picked up women in the past. Now that he had feelings for Anna, he doubted he would use it for anyone else but Anna.

“I happen to know the owner. Let me give him a call and see what I can arrange. How about if we go look at it after work, that is if the owner is willing to let us. You can look it over and decide if it’s something you would like and afford.”

Carter saw her smile widened, telling him she would love to but she was sure the rent would be too high for her meager salary. “I think you might be surprised,” he replied as the intercom buzzed interrupting them once more.

“Mr. Anderson, I have a Mr. Williams on the line wanting to make an appointment about what you discussed at Mr. Hartman’s party. You have tomorrow afternoon open. Shall I pencil him in?”

Carter looked at Anna and saw her brow furrow. “Yes please do and please pencil in Ms. Brayden for that meeting.”

“Yes Mr. Anderson. And he also mentioned having a Ms. Megan Cartwright join in the meeting. Do you know her?”

“Yes, she is on Edward’s team and I assume he wants her involved in the negotiations.”

“Very good sir,” she responded and when she clicked off, he put down his pen and sat back in his chair.

“Edward didn’t say anything about Megan being the point person on this deal.” He saw her eyes brows narrow just a tad. She was thinking something. “I had the strangest phone messages on my phone when I got home last night. The messages were from Josh and Megan but no message, just saying they would see me when they were in town. Were you contacted by either of them separately when we were there or when you got back?” For some strange reason, the image of a man standing at the hotel desk who looked like Josh, popped into his head.

Anna blushed at his comment about her breakfast but soon ignored that when she got her first taste of coffee on her tongue and they became distracted with discussing their notes. The conversation turned to her living situation and Anna couldn’t help but feel a flutter of eagerness when he mentioned the apartment his friend might be willing to show her. She suspected it was over budget but there was no harm in looking, right?

She nodded, smiling. “Of course I’d love to look at it if he’ll have me. It does sound like a good place for me if by any miracle I can manage to afford it.”

Anna was surprised when Joanna used the intercom to inform them that Josh Williams was on the line and wanting to make an appointment for as early as tomorrow. She had assumed (incorrectly) that he and Megan might not immediately rush down to meet them but it sounded like they’d be coming sooner than expected, leaving Anna and Carter little time to formulate their own game plan or counter strike. That would obviously be their next agenda item to discuss.

Her brow furrowed as she debated whether or not to disclose that she had stumbled upon the two competitors in a sexual tryst over the weekend. She was not planning to tell him about the meeting Josh had requested personally. They would cross that bridge when they came to it.

It was odd indeed that neither of them had left messages for Carter after calling. It was more so odd that they had both called - it seemed to her that Josh would want to be the one in control but it was obviously an intentional move on their part although Anna was not sure just exactly what they were thinking. That was becoming commonplace lately.

When he asked her if she was contacted by either of them, she had already cemented the decision to lie to Carter. It made her anxious and she knew that punishment would likely be harsh if he caught her in a lie, but she had to understand Josh’s angle. She’d never find out what he wanted if she refused to meet personally with him. She had no other choice.

It also meant that she couldn’t say anything about Megan’s involvement. She would have to explain how she knew and it was a definite no-no to explain that she had swung by Josh’s hotel room just a few floors down the morning after he had touched her so boldly, so inappropriately, with her lover standing mere feet away. That was a fight Anna did not want to start.

Anna maintained a straight face even as she began to speak. “I haven’t heard anything, no. Why? Should I have? The last contact I had with Josh Williams was at the party that evening. Last I knew we were to expect him here later in the week - I hadn’t thought they might want to come so soon. As for Megan, I’m not entirely sure of the politics behind it but it does make sense that Edward’s liaison be here for a meeting that concerns all three companies. I just don’t know why he didn’t mention that she’d be coming...” she broke off, hoping that she didn’t appear too obvious in her lie. Maybe Carter would misinterpret her discomfort for her dislike for Megan instead. She could only hope at this point.

Monday Morning - Carter's Office

Carter saw the narrowing of her eyebrows when Megan's name was mentioned. They had their differences but he thought they patched them up last week. Evidently that was not the case. He was also pleased to find out Josh or Megan had not contacted Anna last week or over the weekend. The image of the man at the counter lingered in his brain and he pushed it out of his thoughts as he looked at Anna. "I'm glad they didn't contact you Anna. It was all so strange that they would call and not leave a message on my home phone. Well let's worry about them later. I'll call the my friend and ask about that condo."

Carter saw her eyes light up and he loved that excited look. Her eyes sparkled and her lips turned up into a soft sensual smile. It was the same look when she knew they were about to make love. Carter hoped they would be naked again soon and he was surprised how much he missed her last night. She was like a breath of fresh air when he first saw her this morning.

Picking up his cell phone, Carter winked at Anna. This was all a ruse and Anna didn't need to know he owned the building. He also knew Eric Fenzler, his realtor, would play along. When he answered, he introduced himself and smiled. Hell Eric knew him well. He did all his real estate deals. Winking at Anna, sitting on the edge of her chair with an excited smile, he told Eric he was calling about the condo near the river.

Carter mentioned a friend telling him about a third floor condo for rent and was it still available. He gave Anna a broad smile and a thumbs up while Eric told him he knew damn well the condo was still available. Carter would call him later, when Anna was not around to tell him about his plan.

When asked about the rent, Carter's eyes furrowed a little. "Mmmmm let me ask." He put the phone against his chest so Eric could not hear her answer. When she hesitantly told him, he knew she couldn't afford the rent on her salary. He would have to do something about that too.

Putting the phone back to his ear, he smiled. "Mr. Fenzler that is pretty close to what my friend can afford. Can we look at it this evening, say 6ish?" He waited a moment, hearing a chuckle. "That would be excellent."

Pressing the end button, he smiled at Anna. "Looks like you might have a place to stay. The man told me it was about $300 more a month than you are paying now." In fact it was a lot more than that but since he owned the building, he set the rent on each condo.

Her facial expression saddened and he moved quickly to her side and knelt next to her chair. "Anna you can afford it because I'm giving you a $10,000 increase in salary." Her mouth dropped open and before she could utter a word, he added, "Over the past week, I have come to know you are a very important part of the company and to me. You are honest and trustworthy and you deserve it."

The ensuing kiss knocked Carter backwards and he fell on the floor with Anna on top of him, a huge smile on her face.

Anna waited impatiently as Carter spoke on the phone with his friend about the apartment. She listened as he spoke carefully. An extra 300$ was a bit over her budget but she could probably make it work if she was very frugal with her check book. She had some wiggle room if she cut out some of her more expensive treats, so it was probably manageable but it would be at the top of her spending limit. If something unexpected came up Anna might be in a bind but she was sure she could figure something out.

Carter finished his phone conversation and turned his full attention to her after scheduling an appointment for this evening. He watched her as she worried he inside of her cheek in thought. She didn’t have much time to worry about it as Carter announced that he was going to give her a raise. She thought that it might be a little inappropriate to kiss her CEO as he talked about her business accolades but that didn’t prevent her from launching herself from the chair and into his arms.

Her weight bowled them both over and she couldn’t help but laugh into the curve of his mouth even as she kissed him deeply, dipping her tongue into his mouth to stroke along his. She pulled back only slightly, pressing one hand against his sternum for balance even as their lips and legs continued to tangle. She pressed several tiny pecks all over his face, giggling the entire time, happily.

“I can’t even begin to thank you for not only this, but the opportunities you’ve given me. You’re a wonderful lover but an even better boss - I couldn’t ask for more, baby. I never expected that any of this might happen that first day I saw you. Honestly, you made me feel so anxious but that feeling is gone; I only see the man that you try and hide from everyone.”

She pulled back to look at him, sitting up. It probably wasn’t the best time or location to say what was on her mind but Anna couldn’t staunch the feeling that wanted to burst forth from her chest. It was warm, fuzzy, and tender. She was so fond of this man. She couldn’t remember the last time she wanted to share every moment of her day with a man, but she wanted it to be Carter. She just had to say it.

Quietly, almost softly enough that he had to struggle to hear her, she confessed “I think I’m falling in love with you. That scares me, because I’ve never been the type to jump right into everything and so close after Simon it makes me hesitant to open up again, but I can’t help but want all of you, Carter Anderson. I think that I’m weak when it comes to you - you have my body, my mind, and you’re slowly tightening your grip around my heart, too.”

She dipped her head once more to kiss him tenderly. Anna had admitted her feelings and now the ball was in Carter’s court. It was up to him to determine the future of this relationship following her admission. She waited with baited breath, green eyes flickering over his face.

Monday Morning - Lying on Carter's office floor

It was obvious Anna was overjoyed with excitement when Carter announced an increase in her salary. The kiss was warm, full of happiness and he also detected a bit of hunger. Each thrust of her tongue into his mouth was met with his lips trying to capture it but each time it retreated only to attack again. God he loved the way she kissed.

He smiled as she giggled, thanking him like an excited child. But her excitement flowed from his being a benevolent boss to something more personal. She had tried to hide her true feelings when they were in the hotel but now the words he wanted to hear spilled from her mouth. She had him pegged as a somewhat tyrannical man, hiding his feelings. While that was somewhat true it was mostly in the business world that he hid behind a stoic façade. It even happened in his personal life but Anna was slowly breaking down that barrier.

His fingertips slid along each side of her cheeks, pushing her long brown hair over her ears. There was something churning inside her as they stared into each other's eyes. And then she confided something that must have been bottled up inside her, she thought she was falling in love with him. He could see the internal struggle, as her eyes flicked over him, waiting for him to respond and not sure how he would react.

The apprehensive stare was intense. Before he spoke, he pulled her head down to his, kissing her softly at first and then more ardently. Their lips slipped and slid together in mutual eagerness, forgetting for the moment they were lying on his office floor. The intensity of the kiss was building and he could feel an awakening in his trousers. If Joanna was not just outside his office, he would take this further. But Anna was looking for some kind of reassurance that she didn't make a fool of herself when she confessed her growing love.

He pushed her head back just far enough to look into those dazzling emerald eyes, flitting back and forth waiting to hear his words. "Anna, from the first moment I laid eyes on you, I was mesmerized. I wanted to know you better and more intimately. This past week gave me the opportunity to know you better and strengthen my desire to want to know everything about you." He knew his eyes were ablaze as he continued.

"I must confess that I didn't like being alone last night in my house and bed. My thoughts were of you all night and this morning when I woke up alone. My heart and soul is captivated by you and ......" He stopped for a moment.

He wanted to press for her to move into his spacious house but he knew it was too soon after only spending a week together. If their love was to blossom and they were to make a formal commitment, he knew he had to give her room to get over Simon and build a solid relationship with him. "While I want you with me all the time I know I must give you space so we both can see if this is real ..... but I do hope you will consent to spend some nights at my place and me at your place to further our relationship."

He knew she loved to be spanked and he felt a surge of lust knowing she would find ways to get his hand on her bottom. But would she shirk away when she learned of other more sensual forms of bondage he liked. He pulled her down and kissed her fervently, his hands leaving her cheeks and wrapping around her, feeling her body grind against his.

Rolling her onto her back, one hand strayed to her breast, squeezing his gently and lovingly as their lips continued to dance together, knowing Joanna would never walk in on them. But the intercom was different.

"Carter. I hate to interrupt, but I have a Mr. Gibson in the lobby downstairs who wants a few minutes of your time. He is a salesman for the Weekly Journal and wants us to place an advertisement in their paper. Would this be an appropriate time or should I tell him to call another time?"

Carter and Anna were breathing heavy and he did his best to hide that fact. "Joanna give us a few minutes to finish a few things and then you can send him up."

"Ok boss. Let me know when you are ready."

He smiled at Anna. "We need to finish this discussion. But I hope you know that I care deeply for you baby," he laughed and then kissed her. He rose from the floor and helped her to her feet, pulling her into his arms. Business always seems to get in the way of fun.

Anna nodded, taking in the words he spoke. They traded kisses back and forth between comments, taking the few moments they could get before Carter became too embroiled in his business affairs for the day.

“I agree - I’d love to see where this is going to go with us but we do need our space to figure out how we work both separately and as a couple. I need to know who I am without a man being my first priority. I can’t wait to spend my evenings at your place and have you come over to mine, but I have to find one first,” she laughed.

“We kind of did things backwards to how I would usually. Jumping into sex is not something I do, Carter. I don’t regret it, Don’t get me wrong - I’ve never been happier. You’ve been used to women bending over backwards for you, I would bet, but I’m way too independent for that.”

Anna let him roll her easily, feeling his weight press her down into the flooring. One of his large hands strayed to her breast and squeezed and she moaned into his mouth. Anna was happy to take it further and it seemed so was he, feeling his semi against her thigh as he ground his hips down to hers.

The intercom buzzed to life and startled her lips away from his, breathing heavily into his neck from the passion in their kiss. He climbed off her and extended a hand to help her get off the floor and Anna dusted off her skirt as she rose, smoothing out the wrinkles in her blouse. She cleared her throat and gathered up her things. With one last peck, she strolled casually to the door.

Anna turned to face him. “Text me later? If you’re free we can do lunch but if not maybe we’ll have dinner out after we go by that apartment tonight? I’m very excited to have a look around - I’m sure it’s nothing I ever imagined for myself but if I can get the budget to work I know I’ll be happy there.”

As she placed her hand on the doorknob, she paused once more. “Anyway, you have important business to attend to. I’ve taken up enough of your time when you could be making money - instead you choose to spend it playing tonsil hockey,” she teased.

She practically skipped out the door, gracing Joanna with a smile and friendly wave on her way to the elevator. God bless Joanna; she might have smirked in return at what she undoubtedly knew was going on behind closed doors but she would never speak a word of it. Carter’s personal business was no one but his own. She could trust Joanna to respect their privacy.

Anna had worked on her own projects for just over an hour before her phone went off next to her. She grabbed for it, expecting it to be Carter. Instead, she fumbled it in surprise when Josh Williams’ name scrolled across the screen. It slipped out of her hands and hit the floor with a loud crack - that sound of expensive electronics shattering into a mess of glass and plastic always sounded like one of the most horrific things.

Thankfully, it was still usable when she picked it back up, hairline cracks jagged under her fingers but not a large issue. She'd have to get the screen replaced. It was slightly annoying as she tried to read her texts but overall nothing in the large scheme of things. It was a setback though, and Anna frowned when she considered the increased price of her potential rental in comparison to the cost of a new phone screen. It had the potential to be expensive. She would have resolved to live with her phone just the way it was as long as she could but it was definitely unprofessional carrying around a broken piece of electronics with her dealings with more higher end clients. A new phone it was - that meant staying at Emily’s for at least another month.

She sighed. Her attention turned back to her texts as she read over Josh’s message. She could already tell that she was going to get into a lot of trouble with Carter when he found out...

Monday - Back to business

Josh Carter smiled as he texted Anna with Megan at his side. "Looking forward to having brunch with you when I'm in town. We have so much to talk about."

He left it at that and turned to Megan. She chuckled. "That should keep the bitch wondering what you want lover." She leaned into his kiss thinking not about Josh but wondering what Carter's lips would taste like.

**************************************************************
Carter smiled when she asked him to text her later. "Sure thing baby," he called out and then blew her a kiss. "By the way .... I love playing tonsil hockey with you." She laughed and then gone, leaving him with a sudden sadness. "Get a grip on yourself Carter," he mumbled, straightening his clothes. No woman had made him feel this way but he cautioned himself again. She didn't know all there was to know about Carter and he was sure he didn't know all there was about Anna. He suspected that they would soon find out about each other's private lives and then they would know if they were a true couple.

Mr. Gibson, an aging man, with lines of life scaring his face talked about the advertisement in The Weekly Journal. He was unclear as to why he was coming to him since most of the advertisement was handled in the marketing department. After they reviewed the advertisement, he would approve the expenditure. But this man had been insistent for weeks to meet with the CEO.

While the man talked, Carter remembered Anna's words about being under his desk, sucking his cock while he did business. He felt a thickening in his trousers, daydreaming about her lips wrapped around his cock as the man seemed to drone on about his publication. But then the man stopped and smiled.

"I know you are a busy man Mr. Anderson and I won't trouble you now. Please consider advertising in our publication and by the way, we have a mutual friend, a Mr. Garnett, who is concerned that you were giving his wife extra attention."

Carter's eyes flashed open wide at the mention of Marie's husband. Is that why she called him? To warn him that her husband found out about their affair. His eyes narrowed, staring at the man who obviously was more than just a salesman. "I don't know what you're talking about Mr. Gibson!"

The man smiled and got up, flipping a business card on his desk. "You will. I promise you ..... you will." He walked to the door leaving a stunned Carter staring after him, wondering what the fuck just happened and a sense that he was going to be blackmailed.

Try as he might, he couldn't get his mind off the salesman. If that was really who he was. His card reflected the Weekly Journal but in the bottom corner were the words, investigative reporting. How much did he know about Marie's kinky side?

He texted Anna and told her to meet him in the lobby in 30 minutes for lunch. It would be good to get his mind off Marie and her husband. He smiled seeing her response. Before he left, he told Joanna to contact Josh Williams and tell him he was busy tomorrow and their meeting would have to wait until Thursday. Something gnawed at his stomach. Josh Williams was playing a game and he needed to find out what it was.

Lunch was going smoothly with Anna, talking about work and some potential new clients he was going to try and snag. The excitement in her eyes was not lost on Carter, the sparkle that made him want to take her into his arms and kiss her. Near the end of lunch, he told her about rescheduling the Josh Williams meeting giving her an lame excuse about workload. As the check arrived, a loud ping came from Anna's handbag. He told her to go ahead and see who it was as it might be important. He sensed her hesitation as she reached into her bag, pulling out the damaged phone and then saw her eyes narrow as she read the message.

*************************************************************

"Carter pushed the meeting back to Thursday. Will text you when I get into town. It will be good to see you again. :rose:"

************************************************************

Carter asked if it was anything serious and she told him it was just a family matter. He saw the damaged phone and asked to see it when she tried to push it back into her handbag. The look on face was troublesome. Was she hiding something? She told him it was nothing but he insisted on seeing it. When she handed it over, Carter saw the worry lines on her face. He asked about the damaged front and she told him about dropping it and would need to spend her money on a new front rather than take the condo.

He fingered the phone as if he was going to open it but he simply rubbed the face and then a smile creased his face. "You don't have to worry about that Anna. When we get back to the office, I'll have HR get you a new company phone." He saw her stunned look. "You deserve a company phone and I don't know why you haven't gotten one yet. But we'll take care of it. So you don't have to worry about that condo."

As he started to hand it back to her, the screen lit up and went dark but the name, Josh Williams, flashed. He handed the phone back to her and smiled. "What do you say we get out of here and get some work done. By the way I made dinner reservations at the Veranda after we look at the condo."

Was that a look of relief on her face when he didn't mention seeing Josh Williams name pop up on her screen?

Anna sent a generic response to Josh’s initial text, putting it out of her mind as she worked. Carter did have free time at lunch so she hit the pause button on her projects and consults before meeting him at the chosen restaurant. They made small talk until her phone went off in her purse.

Josh’s new message flashed across her screen and she hoped that the change in her face as she read the message was imperceptible but she felt her brows furrowing and her eyes narrowing. This newest missive was still perfectly friendly but she could read the flirtation dripping between the lines. It seemed that he was also gifted with the ability to text at exactly the worst times as well. It was hard keeping it a secret from Carter when Josh was texting her when they were together. She might have to be careful about answering her messages when Carter was present, but that might also have negative connotations if she refused to respond - Carter might wonder just what was going on that made her hesitant to answer her texts around him.

He did ask her about it but Anna played it off as some family thing. He also asked about her phone and told her she could have a company phone if she wanted. It would definitely make life easier and allow her to focus on the apartment. She could live with a damaged personal phone if she was rarely using it outside of her business hours. She had no doubt Carter was humouring her, but she shrugged it off.

She was nervous when he asked to see it. What if she received another message from Josh while he had it in his grasp? She nibbled the inside of her cheek nervously. If he saw anything he shouldn’t have, he never said as he handed it back. Her shoulders sagged in relief and the anxiety melted from her face as he spoke about dinner reservations.

She tucked one loose strand of hair behind her ear as she nodded. “That sounds perfect. Hopefully that means that the strict slave driver of a boss of mine will let me leave early!”

Anna fingered the touch screen of her phone and brought it back to life in order to text Josh back. She settled on: when can I expect you? Satisfied that nothing in the message could be considered inappropriate if the situation blew up in the future, Anna placed her phone back in her purse.

“Speaking of work, let’s get back to it, then. I have some things to finish up this afternoon that I’ve been putting off. How did your appointment with Mr. Gibson go?” She asked curiously as Carter swiped his card. He hadn’t even given her a chance to dispute it, instead being quick with flashing the payment method to the waitress before Anna could even reach for her wallet.

Monday late afternoon - at the condo

"Oh I'm sure that sanctimonious prick of a boss will let you off early," he laughed as he watched Anna type a message to someone. He assumed it was a family member. But the image of Josh Williams' name popped into his head and he couldn't help but wonder why they would be texting each other. He wanted to believe it was a family member and he wasn't going to challenge her.

After paying for the meal, Carter hooked his arm in hers as they exited the restaurant. "Mr. Jacob Gibson is a peculiar man Anna. He should have taken his concerns about advertising to the marketing department. But it seems we have some common interests and know some of the same people. He wanted to make sure a message from out mutual acquaintances got to me. The next I hear from him, I will direct him to the marketing department." Carter stopped, hoping Anna would press the issue and she didn't.

They walked the short distance to the office building, each in their own thoughts. Carter thought of Trevor and Marie Garnett and the strange Jacob Gibson. What game were they playing? Blackmail? Did Marie know? And what about Anna and Josh? Did they know each other before meeting? Then a horrible thought crossed his mind. Was Anna a plant in is business? The thought shook him to the core and he shook his head. No, he was sure she wasn't but what game was she playing with Josh? He looked at her and smiled as they reached the front entrance.

They left her phone in the HR department with strict instructions to transfer all the data from her broken phone to a new iPhone. It was the top of the line model and would allow Anna to have many more apps, etc. than she had on her old phone. When they left and were alone in the elevator, he took her into his arms and kissed her, breaking the soulful kiss before the doors opened on her floor. Carter told her, "I'll meet you in the lobby after work and take you to the condo building." She agreed and he could tell from the look on her face she wanted to give him another deep passionate kiss.

Time flew by and before he knew it, Joanna was saying good night and he looked at his watch. Hurriedly, he went down to the spacious lobby and saw Anna waiting for him. After retrieving his car, they talked shop on the trip to the condo where Eric Fenzler was waiting for them.

Eric met them at the lobby and telling them it was a furnished condo. The previous renters were reassigned to Europe and they decided to leave whatever was not personal behind. He didn't mention that the couple worked for Carter and Carter was pleased that Eric was treating him as if he didn't know him. It was something they talked about earlier in the day.

The sheer look of excitement on Anna's face when she saw the place was not lost on Eric or Carter. Eric explained that if she took the place, she was free to redecorate. Carter looked around at the paintings and the expensive furnishings and wondered how Anna would redecorate.

Eric was showing them the spectacular view of the river when his phone pinged. "I'm sorry but I have to leave. Ms. Brayden please take your time looking the place over. The bedrooms are down the hall as well as the bathrooms. Mr. Anderson if you would be so kind to lock up."

"Sure thing," he answered walking to where Anna was looking out the large window at the river below. Putting his arms around her waist, he pulled her against him as his lips nuzzled against her neck. "What do you think Anna?"

His response to her innocent question was odd. He was definitely hiding something - more going on behind the scenes than what he was saying. She wanted to ask but held herself back. If he was good enough not to ask about the elephant in the room (her communication with Josh Williams), she was not going to force the issue and have that attention turned back on her.

The walk back to the office was quiet, Carter seeming very distracted. Anna said nothing, instead enjoying the sunny weather and nice breeze rustling through her hair as she walked. She didn't bother to consider the Josh situation any longer. She wasn't getting anywhere with it, unable to fathom his motivations to get closer to her. She did know that he was probably using her to get to Carter but there was one issue with that: although Carter said he cared abut her, the truth was that he had only known her for a couple weeks. If times got rough there was nothing to prevent him leaving her behind to save himself and the company if required. They hadn't sown any roots yet despite Carter wanting her to move in with him already. He seemed eager to move forward in this relationship but until there was true strain coming their way there was no way to know how strong their bond might be.

Josh Williams was a hurricane. He had the ability to tear up everything they knew, but at the same time he was mesmerizing and magnetic, drawing you in despite the danger. That was kind of Anna's current problem; she knew better than to trust him but she really wanted to get to know his angle in all of this. The only way was to dive head first into the crashing waves.

More than anything, Anna meant what she had said about falling in love with Carter. Maybe it was too early to truly say, but she was willing to sacrifice her career for him. If Josh Williams really was out to destroy the empire Carter had built he would have to go through Anna first.

She was knocked out of her thoughts when they passed through the revolving door to Anderson & Clemens, stopping off at Human Resources. She was very tentative, cradling the new phone in both hands. She had never owned something as expensive as this phone; her old one was from the stone age, one step up from a flip-phone. It had lasted since she was just barely 20, getting her through some rough times. It was almost hard to see it go but Anna was too busy being enthralled with her new phone to really grieve the loss of her old friend.

The plan was that they would load the phone this afternoon and Anna could stop and pick it up before she left for the evening. That was perfectly fine and Carter escorted her back up to her office. He kissed her deeply and she chased his mouth with hers attempting a second kiss before the elevator doors opened. He was looking impeccable, not a hair or stitch out of place as he gestured for her to exit on her floor, one hand tucked casually into his pants pocket. He appeared nothing less than her ice-cold CEO instead of her boyfriend. Anna was still amazed at how easily he could flip that switch.

Anna nodded and told him she would meet him after she grabbed her new phone. She didn't get a whole lot of work done in the afternoon, distracted by the day's events. She did complete a client profile she'd been working on for months and secure a final meeting next week to preview their advertising and packaging strategies. If things went well, this new item could be in production as early as two weeks from now. Anna was pleased with that.

She stopped by HR and took her new phone, tucking it carefully into a zippered pocket in her purse. She would have to see if Carter would drop her by the store to get a screen protector and case of her choosing on the way home. She was pretty sure that he'd be willing to do such a favour for her, the new couple wanting to spend as much time together as possible.

The apartment was every bit as wonderful as she had imagined throughout the day. There was no doubt that it was out of her price range - all clean lines and modern fixtures and furnishings. The wall of glass floor-to-ceiling overlooking the river was a wonderful touch, several floors off the ground. She would have a walk-out balcony and her bedroom also overlooked the river with the city skyline on the other side. The living space was open concept, living room and kitchen blending together. The two bedrooms were tucked away with an bonus office and every step she took deeper into the apartment made her stomach sink a little lower. There was no way she could afford this! Finally, they retraced their steps to stop and look out at the river vista once more.

She turned in his arms to face Carter. "Tell me the truth, baby. There's no way rent is what you say it is - I can't afford this - it's not something that people like me get to live in. It's a nice dream but it seems like that's all it is," she said sadly, dipping her head, ashamed of her budget. Here she was standing in front of a man who owned multiple branches of profitable businesses and had a hand in securing the best revenue on the North American continent. He ate, slept and breathed money. His whole suit was probably more expensive than her new top of the line phone.

She pressed her lips against his jaw, looking up at him anxiously. He pressed her backwards until her spine was crushed against the glass. She pulled her head back a little bit. She hoped he didn't lie to her - she hoped that he wasn't in cahoots with this real estate agent about the price of the apartment to humour her. She hoped he wasn't using his financial ability or name to put this apartment closer to her price range, because to her it would be an act of pity - a show of the raw disparity between them that she was still so conscious of. She wouldn't be able to deny that she would be disappointed, but she couldn't outright accuse him of manipulating the price to fit her budget - he was just trying to be helpful after all.

When he had said apartment she figured he meant something a little less luxurious but she should have known better. Carter Anderson wouldn't recommend anything less than the best possible places - he most likely didn't know what it meant to live in a tiny little dive tucked away behind a busy Chinatown restaurant like Anna and Simon had done for years before they moved up into a slightly better neighborhood.

She focused her green eyes back on him. "I think we need to keep looking. Maybe something a little more...cozy?" She asked tentatively, quietly, trying not to offend him by coming out and saying that she just couldn't afford his obviously expensive taste.

Monday Evening - At the condo

Carter listened to her reasoning about the condo and felt just a bit offended. He was only trying to help her as he was helped when he was her age. She seemed to think he came from money and he didn’t struggle to make ends meet.

“Come sit with me Anna,” he said and it was not a request she could reject. “We need to have a little talk and I want you to hear what I have to say before you make up your mind about this place and me.”

He hooked his arm in hers, leading her to the sofa facing the floor to ceiling windows. When he sat down, he pulled her onto his lap. “I like you in my lap Anna,” he whispered, feeling her settling against him, her breast pressing against his chest.

Looking into her brilliant emerald eyes, he knew he had her complete attention. “I won’t lie to you Anna about the rent. It is expensive and one thing you don’t know is that I own the building and I set the rental price. I also own a smaller unit on another floor that I use when it is late and I don’t want to drive home.” He felt her start to pull away but his firm grip around her waist kept her lodged on his lap.

His voice took on a more authoritative tone. “Let’s get something straight right now. I gave you a nice raise and a new phone but not for the reasons you might think.” Her eyes were searching his as if to question him, asking why. “You are a valuable person both for the company and to me personally. You deserve the raise and the phone because of your work ethic and not because we are lovers. You’ve worked hard and haven’t shirked away from responsibility. It is that dedication that brought in the Harmon Enterprise account, the Hartman account, and I know we will land the Jones account because of you.” Her look softened and he smiled, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. “And I know you are going to give your best to land the Williams account.” Her eyes narrowed and Carter wondered about Josh’s name showing up on her phone. But he dismissed it and continued.

“Anna you act sometimes like I came from money and haven’t been down in the trenches like you, wondering how to make ends meet. The truth is I lost my dad when I was six and my mother when I was fifteen. These are things I don’t broadcast and keep private. You’re lucky to still have your parents. When my mom passed on, I spent a few years struggling, trying to find myself. Patrick Clemens helped me when we worked together, otherwise I might be still struggling.”

Her eyes perked up as he told her. “I was living in a one room apartment with a pull-out bed in the living area and a small kitchen. Patrick was an executive and we hit it off right away. He helped me realize I had talent and most of all to believe that I had the right to feel good about myself and to mingle with well-to-do people. When he decided to leave the company, he asked me to join him as a partner. I have worked hard for my company and I will not let anyone try to take it away from me.

“What does this have to do with you and this place.” Putting his hand on her cheek, he rubbed it lightly as he concluded his spiel. “I only want was is best for you Anna. I know you feel this place is too much for you and you can’t afford it. But I also know you are somewhat intimated moving outside you comfort zone. Once you believe you are worthy of this life style, you will come to accept that you are just as good as the next person.”

He smiled and let out a soft chuckle. “Why can’t I help the sexy woman I’m fascinated with and care for deeply? He brushed her hair off her cheek. “Tell you what Anna. You can take this unit for thirty days and if you don’t like it, we will find you something more suitable to your tastes. Or if you really don’t like this place then that is ok too and you can begin to look for another place tomorrow.” Her eyes were searching his as he added, “You are not going to hurt my feelings if you decide not to take this place. You have to admit it is a great deal for the price. Do you think that is fair?”

Anna squirmed uncomfortably in his lap as he laid down the law. He was so attractive when he took charge like this, and Anna felt the answering wetness in her panties even as she tried to focus on the words he was saying. She attempted to climb out of his lap when he said that he owned this building - of course he did! Her anger was beginning to sizzle as she thought about it. Carter’s grip was firm and she could not escape.

So he was doing her a favour out of pity. It didn’t matter that he wanted to help her - she was embarrassed that he had to keep lowering himself down to meet her own lifestyle needs. She didn’t want to be the girlfriend who couldn’t afford to go out on a date with her lover. Even with the raise the cost of the apartment was expensive and Anna had to cut out some small luxuries and activities out of her life. She didn’t want to be an embarrassment to him.

As he explained his motivations, Anna was the one left feeling guilty. She hadn’t known any of that about his life and felt terrible for making assumptions. Carter was a man who carried himself like he had been born into money: comfortable and well-versed into how best to use it or who to throw it at. Apparently it had been a learned thing and not something innate like she had thought initially.

She felt chastised but also felt hopeful for the future. If she continued to work hard, she might someday reach a level where financial constraints were not a concern. She probably wouldn’t ever be able to place herself on the same level as Carter, but maybe one day she would be a woman Carter could be proud to call his own.

She smiled when he proposed to let her live here on a trial basis instead. She already knew that she would be happy here. If Carter had faith that they could make this work than Anna would just have to trust his judgement. She knew that the financial guru she called her lover would never lead her down a road that wasn’t within her means.

“I love it here. I want to do this. I think it’s manageable but I just worry about my other bills. I hate that you feel like you have to lower yourself to meet me in the middle - you could rent this out to someone who could pay at least double if not triple what you’re asking of me. It’s not exactly a great business decision on your part but I definitely do appreciate it. Carter, I just don’t want to be someone you’re ashamed of being seen with. I can’t be that girl who wears top of the line or diamond earrings or has three walk-in closets full of clothing. I’m just me, Carter. Every single day since I’ve met you I’ve spent it thinking I’m not ever going to be good enough to be loved by you,” she admitted in a whisper, confessions coming to the surface unexpectedly.

Anna had been hurt in the past and she was just scared of losing the man who was quickly overtaking any love she thought she had known. Although Simon had not been a good fit for her, it still hurt that held cheated on her. What was Anna lacking that drove everyone away? She didn’t know that she’d be able to move on so easily if Carter was to just leave her hanging like that.

“Anyway, enough of the emotional talk. If you’re the owner of this building, it seems like a done deal to me. Why don’t we christen it? Make it feel a little more like home...” she suggested, mind returning to the cold dampness in her panties. She shifted a bit in his lap, trying to wiggle away from that uncomfortable feeling.

Monday Evening - Initiating Anna's Condo

A half smile creased his face when she mentioned she loves the condo. She wanted to be independent and Carter sure knew what that meant. In the business world, to be independent and feisty was a great thing and he knew she had all the qualities to make it on her own merits.

But he knew deep down under that sexy shell, she wanted to be loved and controlled in the bedroom. He liked that she was concerned he could rent the place out to someone who could pay more. But that inconsequential in his mind. He was doing something for someone he cared about deeply and to take a small loss was not a big deal.

He stared into those hypnotic eyes. "I'll never be ashamed to be seen with you Anna. I don't need you to wear fancy clothes or expensive diamonds to be proud that you are my lover ........ and ...... and you are the only one I think about day and night ...... and you are good enough to be loved by me."

Did he just say that? Did the words that he could love her? It had been a long time since he uttered those words to a woman. And every time he found out they had an ulterior motive that sank the relationship. Did Anna have an angle to play against him ...... against the company? Josh Williams image loomed in his head but quickly disappeared when her tone changed to something more sexual.

"There is nothing like a christening to cheer us up," he laughed grabbing her hair and pulling her lips to his. The kiss was strong, vibrant, and powerful as he held her hair tightly not letting her pull away. Her one hand clasped the hair on the side of his head, kneading his scalp as they kissed until they were both breathing hard. "I want to christen every room and each piece of furniture with you lover.“ Pulling her head back to his, their kiss was like two animals in mating season, each anxious to devour the other.

He shifted, sending her onto the sofa. Standing he pulled her up to him and kissed her hard again, feeling her body molding into his. After a long ardent kiss, he stepped back and slipped his suit coat off. "Strip for me Anna. I want my eyes to devour you."

They stared at each other as each article of clothing was discarded until they were naked. His eyes took in the luscious details of her body while hers did the same. When her eyes diverted to his semi-hard cock, he smiled. "I think you know what to do Anna. No I know you love it," he whispered seeing her drop to her knees.

She obeyed without question. Anna spat into her open palm and wrapped it around his dick, stroking a few times to spread the wetness down his shaft. Again, she was entranced by the fact that she almost couldn’t get her fingers to close around him.

Anna played with the head for a few minutes, teasing with her lips and tongue. A sharp tug on the roots of her hair let her know when Carter had had enough of her games. She smirked around the head of his cock and bobbed deeper, stroking the flat of her tongue down the underside of his shaft. She let her tongue dance and swirl and slide all around with small suckles here and there.

Her hand came up to fondle his balls as she sucked him, rolling them between her fingers. She worked adeptly with her mouth and hands, playing the role of the naughty little tease to draw out his orgasm and prolong their pleasure. By the time Anna was ready to take his dick into the back of her throat, Carter was clutching her hair tightly and clenching his teeth in desire. She knew he’d probably cum soon but Anna was ready for it too; her jaw was aching where it was stretched around the girth in her mouth.

She pulled back to stroke him, once more darting her tongue out to dip into the slit of his cock and play with the bottom edge of his fat mushroom head. He was absolutely dripping with precum and Anna couldn’t wait to get a mouthful of his cum. She lowered down and fastened her lips around him, sucking hard. She bobbed a few times until she had her pouty lips pressed against the flesh of his pelvis. She blinked up at him as she folded her hands behind her back, putting on a good show of how well-versed she could be in cocksucking.

Carter tossed his head back and groaned as the first blast splashed down her throat. He held her there, feeding her every last drop. Eventually, he pulled back to stroke out the last couple spurts. He rubbed them over her lips with the head of his cock, smearing his cum across the lower half of her face.

Satisfied, she pulled back. Happy that she had pleased him, Anna cast green shining eyes up to look at him. “Thank you for the treat, sir. Your hungry little cumslut enjoyed it as always.”

Monday Evening - Tasty Delights

Carter wasn't planning on cumming so soon but his little cum slut was very good at teasing and sucking his cock. There were a few moments when he thought of pulling out of her mouth but he knew she loved to suck cock. And he enjoyed filling her lovely mouth with his cream. The way she teased his cockhead with her tongue and then slipping just the head between her lips, scrapping her teeth along the sensitive head was like heaven.

His moans grew stronger and more insistent as she devoured his cock, taking it into her throat. His grip tightened in her hair and when she tried to pull back he held it firmly, until she needed air. Her eyes were glazed over as she took a deep breath and went back to work until he couldn't stand it any longer and blasted a large amount of cream into her mouth. He opened his eyes to see her shimmering eyes staring up at him, thanking him for his load.

"My little cum slut is one amazing cocksucker." He pulled her up and swiped some cum from her chin. "You let some slip out." Pressing his fingertips against her lips, she greedily cleaned them.

"Now it's my turn to enjoy my cum slut's pussy." Pushing her gently down onto the sofa as she laughed, he knelt between her open thighs staring at the wetness coating her lips. Just as she teased him, Carter took his time, kissing the inside of her left knee, working his way upward and then flicking his tongue at the puffy guardian lips. He smiled at her and then pulled back, moving to her right knee, kissing it and then leaving a wet trail up to the apex of her thighs.

He stopped for a moment to gaze at her sex, and then he slowly traced his fingers up and down the slit, pressing a bit harder with each pass until they slipped between them. Her scent was amazing and he looked up at her to see her eyes closed and her hands softly massaging her breasts.

"Open yourself for me cum slut," he ordered and watched as her fingers slid down off her breasts to peel back the soft lips, revealing her rich pinkness. "Mmmmm it looks very delicious," he commented as his tongue flicked along the pink skin from her clit down to the tight opening.

Carter saw one hand leave her lips, and pull on his hair while the other hand kept herself wide open for his assault. Pushing one and then two fingers against her tight vaginal opening, he began fucking her as his tongue lapped at her swollen clit. He felt her body begin to squirm on his tongue, moving in rhythmic unison as her fingers in his hair gripped tighter.

Backing off with his tongue, he slid his fingers out of her pussy and rubbed her clit, eliciting a loud moan. Then they were joined by his lips, sucking on the tiny jewel feeling her body bucking harder. She was close and he wanted to feel her orgasm hit and when it did her ass rose off he sofa, her loud pants echoing about the room.

As she slid down from her orgasmic high, he pulled back and licked his fingers. "You aren't getting off that easy baby," he cackled. Standing he grabbed her thighs and pushed them back as his rejuvenated cock dangled near her pussy. "Put my cock inside your baby," he moaned feeling her fingers grasping his cock and pulling it toward her.

With one hand spreading her pussy lips still she reached out and guided his cock inside with the other. "C'mon baby - fuck your little cumslut full of your dick," she encouraged, teasing the head around her clit and inner labia lips until his thighs were tensing with the desire to thrust inside her.

With a tinkling laugh, Anna directed his head to her vaginal opening. Carter wasted no time and drove his hips forward, seating the entire length of him inside her with one deep stroke. She moaned, tossing her head back in pleasure. "Holy shit!" she exclaimed.

Carter smiled back at her as they made love on her new leather couch overlooking the skyline. It was just starting to fade into evening, sun setting over the horizon, lights on nearby skyscrapers starting to shine through the windows. Anna couldn't have asked for anything more.

Carter fucked her roughly just as he knew they both liked, shifting and manipulating her body into new positions fairly frequently. She came on his cock twice before Carter's own pace started to slow, breathing more rapidly and body straining towards his own orgasm. At this point, she was bent over the back of the couch, knees perched on the seat cushions as he dicked her from behind. She reached back and spread her cheeks open, giving him a nice view of her puckered rosebud. She carefully traced one of her fingers over her tiny rim, having enjoyed it in the past when Carter touched her there. She was curious about it - she'd never engaged in anal play but she felt that she would be open to it with him.

Looking over her shoulder, she locked her eyes on his. "I want you to feel you right here," she uttered, swirling that finger over her asshole. "Maybe not right now, but next time?" She questioned hesitantly, not sure if he would actually want to go that far.

Apparently he did want it if the loud groan and heavy smack across her ass meant anything. He lowered his face to her neck and pressed his weight down on her as his hips became choppy and he prepared to cum. She chased his lips with her own, kissing him wetly.

Just as filled her with his sperm, her phone went off on the table. She would have ignored it, but Carter turned his head and froze as he scanned over the message on the screen. He said nothing but Anna glanced as well to see what had drawn his attention away.

On the screen, the message read: See you Wednesday.

That wasn't the issue. The sender was Josh Williams. Anna wondered why on earth she'd received that message but then her mouth dropped open in recollection as she remembered sending when can I expect you? at lunch with Carter today. Josh had never responded and Anna had forgotten about it. She pressed her forehead down on the back of the couch and focused on catching her breath and not the ensuing storm she was sure was brewing deep within Carter's chest. He'd been patient with her and hadn't asked about the situation before but she realized that this would be the final straw. There was no way that she could play that message off as anything less than it appeared. If she said it was for business purposes Carter would demand that all meetings happened in the office with him present and Anna would never manage to get the information she needed out of Josh. She had to do this on her own terms - she couldn't play this game with Carter this time.

She pushed him away one-handedly and he went easily, still pondering the text message. Cradling his face in her hands, Anna kissed him softly, pulling back to catch his eyes. She hoped the sincerity shone through as she said, "you need to trust me. It isn't what you think, Carter. I have to do this for us - I can't involve you. It has to be me but you have to know that there is nothing going on between Josh and I. You're the only man I want and I'm doing this for you. I get that it's probably hard to believe in me when you're confused about what's happening right under your nose, but I promise that I know what I'm doing," she whispered, butting her nose against his gently.

"Please - I'll tell you everything after it's over but you have to let me to do this. I'd give up everything for you. If you still don't like it you can punish me later, but just trust me, sir," she begged.

Carter's eyes on hers were critical, probing for any hint of a lie or manipulation on her part. The silence seemed to last forever as his thoughts coalesced and he formulated a response to her statements. She really hated it when he did that - Anna could never tell what he was thinking. It made her squirm in ways she didn't really appreciate.
