The Summer's Cabin (Closed Thread)

~Had she broke the surrounding him with bubble, he would have said something smart assed to her, but she didn't come up until later. She was enjoying their time together and he was happy that she had such freedom. He was just happy to be back with her.~

It was a joke, P'tite. I ment that as I didn't want to get wet like that.

~He shook his head and laughed as she darted back under the water and disappeared. Knowing her playful nature at times, he was prepared to get tossed at some point in time. He just relaxed and drifted lazily on the waves she was creating, his face looking up into the sky as he floated.

This cabin and lake really was peaceful and he now understood why Jean and Scott always got away from the mansion to get up here whenever possible. It was a great place for he and Rogue to reconnect and reestablish themselves in their realtionship.~

Rogue

I suspect he was expecting me to shoot up right by his feet and arch over him but I did it anyway, graceful and splashing.

Coming to swim next to him, I relaxed and floated on my back, careful not to get too close but still nearby.

I floated for a little while before growing bored with the quiet.

Hovering in the air, I flipped over so I was facing Remy, about two feet above him, the tips of my hair skimming over his chest damply. "Having fun yet, Remy?"

~He smiled seeing her directly over him and smirked as he thought of something.~

Now how am I suppost to work on my tan with you blocking my sun like dat, P'tite?

~With a quick move of his hands he splashed her kicking water up at her. However he miscalculated and splashed himself as well. he moved to tred water and used his hands to wipe the water from his eyes.~

Of course I'm enjoying myself, Love. I've a pretty girl alone with me, were out in da middle of nowhere staying in a log cabin. We enjoy a fire at night and loving caresses when we can get away with dem. And when it's time for bed we snuggle under da covers until sleep takes us away. What is not to love?

~With her still above him, he quickly reached up and grabbed her glove hand then dived beneath the water pulling her with him. Revenge for all of the splashing she was doing.~

Rogue

I managed a gasp of air before he pulled me under by the hand, making me glad I'd grabbed a pair that wouldn't move for anything until unlaced from my forearm.

Into the murky water he pulled me until I reached out for his other hand. Grabbing it, I spiraled us to the surface, breaking it in a spiral still, water flying everywhere.

I moved us parallel to the lake until he was body surfing along the surface, gliding over the water.

Slowing, I left him go, watching him skitter off into the middle of the lake, laughing as I flew above him. I gave a quick spin to shake some of the water from me.

"So, Remy, how's breakfast... or brunch rather sound? Or is it lunch time- whatever- how's food sound?"

~His little stunt backfired on him and he was skipped across the lake like a stone, until he finally came to a slow stop his feet tredding water again to keep him afloat. Seeing that he was very far from the sure he just looked up at Rogue who was hovering overhead.~

Brunch sounds wonderful. Do we eat at da cabin or go grab a bite elsewhere?

~He reached his hand up and took her hand in his again, however this time he didnt pull he just looked at her. ~

Are we heading in to get dried and change?

Rogue

Smart move not to pull me down again, I mused, taking his hand in mine. "I reckon we are. Mustn't get those fancy dining room chairs all wet."

Grabbing his other hand, I lifted him from the water and took him to shore, setting him carefully on the dock to avoid injuring him. A broken ankle or patella would really spoil the week, I thought, touching down to pick up my towel.

Wringing the excess water out of my hair, I wrapped it up in the towel, trusting the later morning sun would dry me off enough to not make a mess in the house by the time we walked there.

I held out my hand to Remy with a smile. "Shall we go?"

~He was very happy that he didn't get airsick as he watched as the lake suddenly started to shrink as he was lifted from within it and carried over to the dock, which grew as she lowered him until his feet touched the wooden planks. Gambit grabbed his towel and trapped it over his shoulders before slipping a hand in one end and rubbing his hair vigorously to attempt to dry it as best he could. He then used the other end of the towel to dry his face.~

Not'ing like a brisk swim in a lake to get da blood pumpin' and make sure da body is awake. Shall we head up and get dressed?

~He wrapped his arm in his towel then slipped it around her waist and started to walk to the cabin. The sun started to warm the air, and Gambit lifted his head at one point so that the rays could kiss his face. He closed his eyes and basked in the feeling of the warm sun and Rogue on his arm.~

Rogue

I was careful as we walked up to the cabin- zapping the poor boy with an energy drain this early in the day wouldn't be good.

We walked up that sunlight bath, warming from the chill of the lake and were both relatively dry by the time we got inside. I noted a hottub under the back porch as we walked by- that could fun later. My 'light suits" like the one I'd slept in were normal wash- they shouldn't be damaged by a little fun in the tub.

Storing that thought away, I pushed open the door and walked in. "You want to make breakfast and clean up second or shower now and clean up after breakfast?"

~He opened the door for her and closed it behind them when they were both within the cabin. He looked at the kitchen and started thinking about the concauctions they used to make in the morning with chocolate syrup, grapenuts and other items. How they would make a goopy mess in the bottom of the bowl that you would have to slurp up.~

I could always make dat grapenut concauction dat I used to. It's been awhile since Ive had da chance to make dat. Or eggs, eggs might be nice.

~He smirked and tossed his towel over her head, then grabbed her gloved arms gently laying a kiss on her with just the towel between their lips. He then pulled the towel off of her and swatted her in the ass playfully.~

I'll cook, P'tite, you go get cleaned up.

Rogue

"You keep smackin' my ass you're gonna regret it," I told him saucily. "And I don't think grapenuts are right without lots of sugar, which I'm not sure they have. Think I saw that fake psuedo-sugar stuff last night- awful stuff."

About a quarter of an hour later, I was clean, showered and changed, now wearing a pair of cut off shorts, a simple black t-shirt and near-shoulder length opera gloves. I padded barefoot into the kitchen, my hair held from my face by a bandana that matched my eyes.

Hovering over Remy's shoulder, literally for there was no way I could lean over it, I looked at what he was preparing, ready for just about anything.

~He had tried to keep the mess he made in the kitchen to a minimum, but noone is perfect. He had dices some onions and peppers, scrabbled a half dozen eggs in a bowl, shredded a block of cheese, fried up some bacon and grabbed some salsa and some sour cream from the fridge.

When Rogue had came in he was at the stove making southern style omletts. He would have loved to make them cajun style, but his heartburn still hadn't subsided from the last time he had made them. Feeling her behind him he decided to tease her.~

You do know dat a good cook cannot create his masterpiece when dere is a beautiful women hovering over his shoulders trying to see what he is cooking. Den again noone said dat I was a good cook.

~He flolded the omlette in half, then flipped it over to check the other side. Happy with the look, he slid it from the pan onto a plate, then added the salsa and sour cream to the top.~

And don't try to hide it, P'tite, you know you love it when I put my hands on your ass.

~He scooped up the plate and walked it over to the table which he set with a glass of Oj and a small on of milk and had the silverware ready and waiting. Over the first plate was a lid to keep the omlette warm. He placed the plate down and took the lid off the other then sat down to eat.~

Hope you're hungry and have some Tums...

Rogue

"Looks like something out of a breakfast food commercial," I said, waving a hand over the milk and juice. Still, I sat down, okay hovered down into my chair with a smile and waited for Remy to finish making his own omlete.

"Didn't the last time you made these set the smoke alarms at the Institute," I asked as he sat down with his own plate. Picking up a fork, I decided to try it. If I died, I'd come back and haunt him.

Surprisingly, it was rather tasty and not fatal, at least not immediately. "Not half bad, Cajun boy. Going to have to make pan perdu tommorow morning though."

~He sat down across from her and shook his head after taking a bite.~

Nah, dat was my last attempt at flapjacks. Filled da whole mansion with a nice thick smoke. Da Professor forbid me from using da stove again well at least for a month.

~He winked at her then continued to eat. This morning was turning out to be better than the last. Then again they were alone and without the daily rushes of the mansion. ~

Sounds good, but who is cooking dinner tonight?

~He stuffed another bite into his mouth as he looked over at her, then chased it with a drink of his orange juice. His breakfast was nearly done, then he would shower and they would head to the mansion to get their business there done so they could get back to their serenity.~

"Well, Scott mentioned he'd stocked the lake with catfish a few months ago and no one's been fishing them out," I said between mouthfulls.

"We could do blackened catfish, assuming we open all the doors," I said, remembering the time I'd set off the smoke alarms. It had been for a tasty cause though. "After we make our phone calls, we can lounge out on the dock, soak up some sun and catch our dinner. I'll cook if you'll clean 'em."

~He nodded thinking about the catfish. Cooked right and it was a good meal, however he didn't see them fishing. I didn't have the patience for it, unless they wre doing other things while their rods were in the water. Now boom fishing was an idea.~

Yeah, I think I know what Stormy is going to want to talk about. Im sure it will have somet'ing to do with da cure and my dealings with Sinister. You see if you can get ahold of da Shi'ar and see about dat ability negator. Watch out for Havok though, he may accuse you of trying to start a war or going over his head.

~He finished his omlette and drinks, then took his dishes over to the sink. He stretched and waited by the sink for her to come over to the sink and join him.~

Rogue

"Havok can kiss my ass," I said with an unladylike snort as I gathered up the dishes and cups from the table. "He's being a jerk and I am not going to let him boss me around like some petulant student. I bet he knows he's not half the leader Scott is and it gets under his skin and festers, making him an ass to others."

I looked up at Remy, an eyebrow raised. "Ya going to move so I can wash the dishes or do I get to wash around you? And should I get express shipping on that dish?"

I grinned at his response and went on. "I wasn't going to contact the Shi'ar directly, at least not at first. Was going to give Lifeguard a call, see if she can find me one."

I have my own thoughts on why Alex Summers is a dick, but I will keep my thoughts to myself on dat one.

~He shook his head at her comments and pushed off of the sink heading back to the bedroom to get his shower.~

Looks like it is going to be a cold shower to wake up dis Cajun today. Hopefully she will have one hidden somewhere or be able to get ahold of one. Might come in handy to have one of dose.

~He winked at her, then went into the bedroom to get cleaned up while she did the dishes and cleaned up. Once in the bedroom, he stripped down out of his shorts and walked into the bathroom. He half hoped that there would be some hot water, but after this morning he needed a cold one just to take the edge off.~

Rogue

So he wanted a cold shower? I was happy to supply one by doing the dishes and running the dishwasher, laughing at the yelp I heard from the bathroom.

I walked into the bedroom and stripped off my casual cloths- if we were going up to the house I needed more clothing. There were more students running around these days and I didn't want to hurt one that randomly bumped into me.

I was pulling on my one peice uniform, cleaving the bottom portion along my legs with the top part still unzipped when Remy walked out of the bathroom...

~He tepped out of the shower and used a towel to dry himself off. After drying he stepped out of the bathroom with the towel on his shoulders and stopped to watch as Rogue dressed for the trip up to the mansion.~

I could sit here all day, Love, watching you dress and undress.

~He walked over to the dresser he had taken over and looked within for something to wear. After choosing some jeans and a T-shirt he dressed and then slid his boots on his feet. Off the top of the dresser, he grabbed his gloves, shades, and cigarettes. He turned into a embrace, her hands slipping around him and hugging him against her with her cheek resting on his chest. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her and laid a soft kiss to the top of her head.~

I went right on with fitting the suit to my body, much like one would panty hose- if it doesn't lay just right over the skin, it can be annoying.

Today's suit was:
Xmen%20-%20Rogue.jpg

(So I'm being lazy and not describing it, pictures are good sometimes)
It was one of my combat outfits, though for today I stuck with simple gloves and not the gauntlets I'd had made for it. Didn't plan on any serious combat for today.

I pulled my hair up into a pony tail, the white flair standing out dramatically.

"So we using the com units here or going up to house now?"

Well, biking is a nice ride, but flying will get us there and back quicker.

~Gambit shrugged as he watched her readjust her suit. Dispite the fact she couldn't touch anyone, she always had great taste in suits. He half wondered where she had gotten this one made, but then figured it didn't matter and started to head outside.

As he walked he slid his gloves on his hands and put his shade on but moved them to rest in his hair above his head. He stopped outside the door to take a cigarette from the pack and light it, taking a hit from its end as he put the lighter back in his pocket.~

Rogue

I followed him outside, wrinkling my nose at the cig's smell. "This is a non smoking flight, sugah. Don't want a spark on my suit- burned holes are not attractive."

I leaned against against the house while I waited for him to finish, out of the smoke. After he finished and tossed the butt in a can, I moved out to the grassy yard of the cabin and held my arms out.

Hugging him tight, I took off, easing us into the air, keeping part of my mind on the winds, light though they were. Flying to the Xmansion could sometimes be a harrowing experiance, I'd learned. Nothing like having one of the gusts of winds that often followed Stormy around ground you into a tree to teach one caution. We flew over a gathering of students in the gardens that caught my eye.

I let them be though and landed us in the back gardens. Only caught a small gust as I did so, nothing that upset my flight.

"So, lets go find the fun, eh, Remy?"

Rogue

It wasn't till past midnight when Gambit and I managed to get away from the uproar at the main house, both of us filthy and sore. I stopped by the front door to pick up a package I'd had delivered (The internet and same-day shipping are great things).

"Just a simple visit to the main house," I groused, pulling the pony tail from my hair. "Quick talk with Stormy... stupid kids."

I was bitching, I knew it. And I also knew Remy wouldn't take it personally- it wasn't his fault the issues had happened, the proverbial cat had gotten out of the bag and led an uproar.

Still grouching, I walked through the cabin and out onto the back patio. A few buttons hit and the cover removed got the hot tub ready.

Wandering back inside, I nodded at Remy who was pouring himself a drink. "Make me a shot too, its been one hell of a day."

A few moments later, I walked back out, wearing a rather skimpy bikini. I tossed the package I'd picked up to Gambit with a grin before picking up the shot he'd poured me. "Slip into that and come join me in the hottub if you want sugah. I'm still too wound up to sleep."

This day was a complete nightmare for the two of them. What was going to just be a talk and some research turned into a huge mess as one of the students went on the warpath and gunned down quite a few duplicates of the mutant known as Multiple Man. Of course Gambit and Rogue both had to step up as Xmen and help with the clean up and the claming of the students in the mansion.

"Worst part of it all, Love, was dat Storm and I never had dat talk. All da shooting started before I could even address da question of how I got da cure for her and da kid." Gambit said as he leaned against one of the poles of the cabins porch, grabbing a nicotine fix to help calm him from the days events.

He looked over his shoulder and realised that he was standing there alone and wondered if she even heard him as she walked into the cabin. He crushed the cigarette in the ashtray and walked into the cabin to find her. Seeing that she was busying herself with the hot tub, Gambit walked over to the cupboard and got out two glasses and then fetched the Southern Comfort from within the refridgerator. He just poured himself a drink when she had asked for one, so he filled her glass to shot level as well before downing his first one.

Maybe it would have been better if we would have just waited until dis week was up before heading back to da mansion. He thought as he filled his glass and set the bottle of SC on the counter. He looked over his shoulder as she came out and smiled seeing that she was in a bikini, but then wondered how he was going to share the hot tub with her if she had some of her skin exposed.

"What's dis?" he asked as he opened the box and pulled out the suit.

Rogue

"You think its fair I'm the one in a body suit all the time," I asked with a saucy grin. "No sir, Remy. Turn about it most certainly fair play."

I pointed to the lable on the package. Tahthi's Tailors was scripted in flowing cursive letters across the top of it with an address and care instructions. "They make most my costumes, the ones that aren't all batch made to match. Plus the body suits- its a new fabric I'm trying out for them. Thick enough weave to prevent skin contact, thin enough to allow touch. Something about putting it on babies with mutant powers so they don't turn into metal or water or such things. If they're powers are touch based, like mine."

The mention of children brought a brief shadow to my eyes that I pushed away with a glance at the hot tub. "I'll let you go get changed while I go get in the tub. And no complaining about the colors- its proably pastels, since its a concept fabric."

I skipped off to the hot tub, knowing full well it was most definantly pink, lavender or sky blue. Tahthi hadn't gotten around to making up any other colors yet. I'd ordered the suit from my computer at the mansion, though I'd had to guestimate on some of the dimensions. Good thing the fabric was stretchy for ease of movement, I mused with a wicked grin, sliding into the tub.
