I think as we get closer we'll start hearing Styx playing out of nowhere.

if anyone gets what i mean by that, they gain major awesome points

Styx, the rock band? What song would you hear? "The Serpent is Rising"?

Oh. Never seen it. I also don't really know who the Styx are. I just did a Yahoo! search for "Styx" and that's what I got.

well it turns out i was wrong anyway, the song in question is by Gary Wright not Styx, my brother told me it was by styx. so sorry about the wild goose chase

yes it is hun were just posting slow i think most of us are not wanting to get too far ahead of Mantra hehehe and are kinda waiting for him to return... your more than welcome to jump back in if you like.

Very well, here is my old character sheet and like before, I would perfer to be on the side of evil.

Name: Draken

Age: 21

Race:One Half Drow, One quarter Human and One quarter Elven

Appearence:Standing 6' in height, Draken is muscular but not overly so as his elven and drow blood do not allow him to bulk up as most humans can. He is lookes like he has a darker then normal tan, thanks in part to his drow blood. His eyes are unusual in the fact that during the day, they appear black but yet at night they appear golden in color. He has a hyponotic stare that is rivieting and holds his audience captive with a single look.

Class:Ranger/Warlock

Weapons: Dual Falcions, three curved daggers one of which is a jagged ritual dagger, a five foot longbow and quiver full of razor tipped and barb tipped arrows.

Attire: Lightweight black mirthal scalemail, long black cloak.

Oh and could the person in charge of this story please find a place for my evil character. Thank you

i dont think it will be a problem for your char to be fit into the plot hun as soon as Mantra gets back i am sure he will bring you in. *smiles* in the mean time you could have your char shadowing our group and keeping an eye on our progress or something until he can get back to you.

If i am remembering correctly i think your char already came across some of our party earler in the thread, and so it wouldnt be hard for you to recognize somone and be curious enough to follow us...

Yes, I had met the centaur and had noticed which ever of you had been sick while inside Thorn's underground cavern.

ahhh that would have been me.. or rather Idrial she was near death LOL but pulled thru.. *smiles*

Hi :)
I have read some of the old thread but didn't get far enough for an explaination of the Dreamweaver. Would you be able to explain more about it?

Take care of yourself and the little one Sprite...that's what's most important. :rose:

It was pitch black...

... pitch black and still as a grave. There was no movement, not even the stir of breath. There was no sound, not even the tiniest squeek of a mouse between the walls. Yet one might feel, that is, had anyone actuallt been there to feel, that there was something there...something waiting... lingering...hoping there in the dark.

Then there was a noise, a scrape from far away, then a metalic 'click-clack' sound and a door opened, allowing a sliver of light to enter and drive back the darkness. As the dark receeded, a room was revealed, more specifically, it looked to be a study with a great stone fireplace along one wall. A plush, deep blue sofa sat in front of the fireplace and on the farthest wall, stood a small bar. What dominated the room however, was a large podium in the center of the room. Scooted in front of the podium was a swivel stool. almost as tall as the podium itself.

Not a podium at all, but a writing desk. Sitting atop the desk, was a huge, a massive leather and metal bound book. It was also the source fo the waiting, the something that radiated eager anticipation.

All in all, the room looked very comfortable, but also looked as if it had stood unused for some time. Dust lingered over every surface, cobwebs hung in the corners and dangled from the light fixtures and the fireplace was stone cold. The man, for a man it was who had opened the door stood for just a moment silouetted by the light from outside. He sighed a deep sigh, not from exaustion or misery, but a sigh of relief. He was home.

"Lumos." he said, shutting the door behind him. Lights flared to life, offering a golden glow to everything within, even as the door shut, closing out the other mundane world.
The man removed his coat hanging it on an intricatly carved coat rack and set his hat atop it. He turned, and made to cross the room, lifting his right hand and making a casual swirling motion as he did so. As he moved, tiny swirls puffed out from each step he took, the swirls radiated out, miniature dust-devils whisking through the room and scooping away the dust and cobwebs, drawing away the bits to...nothingness.
"Firox." he muttered and the fireplace burst into emerald green flames and the cold began to drift away as well. There was a palpable shiver in the room, the anticipation had risen to an almost electric level, but the man did not stop at the book, instead passing it by and letting the cleansing swirls of the following dust devils whirl and whisk up and over the desk. Instead he passed by, stepping behind the bar and opening a little refridgerator. His features were highlighted for a moment as he withdrew a coke can and set it on the counter top, hesitating for a moment as a dust devil whisked the counter clean. He cleared his throat and the devil paused, swirling in place momentarilly. The man set a chrystal class on the counter top and the devil flicked back, whisking the glass to cleanliness and jumping back. The man smiled and tipped the now clean glass towards the devil in thanks as it returned to its rout.

With a pop and fizz, the coke was poured into the glass, pausing about a quarter from the top. He then opened a bottle of Captain Morgan's spiced rum and topped off the glass. He swirled the mixture for a moment before taking a sip. Satisfied, he looked over the room as the devils reached their final destinations and swirled into nothingness. The light twinkled on a dozen polished surfaces and glinted on scores of trophies of one type or another. The room was warm, cozy and comfortable again. He sipped his drink again and smiled.

Carrying his drink, the man walked around his counter and drew out the long stool in front of the desk. There was a shiver in the air as he seated himself and set his drink to the side. A long, red plummed quill fizzled into existence at one corner of the desk and a bottle of ink with a stoppered cork appeared next to the quill. The man took a look at the book and smiled.

"Dragons and Magic II, The Hunt for DreamWeaver"

He reached out and opened the book, a flurry of color and swirls of light whipped out and around, flittering about the room. A caucaphany of sounds issued from the pages as the man turned them, noting with amusement and pride the way things had developed during his absence. Finally he came to the end, or at least where the story had hesitated for the moment. As he turned to the first blank page, the colors and sounds vanished, a blank page, an empty canvas awaited him, and all those who were waiting within. There was a moment of silence save for the slight clink of glass as the man took another sip from his drink, then there was a whisper, seemingly from nowhere...

"Welcome home StoryTeller..."

All Hail Mantra's return!

(insert theme music here.....)

Oh and by the by, somewhat earlier I mentioned I wanted to use some the characters we've created in a story. I'm currently at work on it. If anyone has any issues with me using your characters, please let me know.

I think it will be a good story, and its getting to be much fun as I write it. I will post it on Lit when finished. Those whose characters I use will be credited of course.

Thanks!

*Still on the sidelines, stands and applauds. The starts a sound bit of a stadium full of people giving a standing ovation*

That's one hell of an reentry Mantra! Amazing! *whistles*Whooo!

Thank ye all. Nice to be back too.

Draconia, *huggles* Thanks, love your new av too.

Ra, I am a bit touchy with my dragons, but feel free to use them, but I reserve the right to comment. ;) Also, if you ever make a ka-gillion dollars, I get a cut.

Blaster, let's see if we can get you into the game at last...

Game on all.

Mantra:

I certainly would not change the dragon characters much at all. Your expansion of the character of "Thorn" will fit VERY well within the storyline that I've been working with. Also, I wanted to introduce Phalanx as sort of a sentinel, which is the impression I got of him when I read your writing in our original ORP thread. There probably won't be any references to any of the others, as the story will focus more on the elves, humans, centaurs, and such as that.

And of course, if a ka-gillion dollars finds me, I'll let you in on it. Not that it would happen, ever to me, but there is always the hope.......

Khan -- aka Bail Tarpal

Alright! Finally, I got the green light from Mantra. Everyone, let me introduce you to my character

Name: Khan -- aka Bail Tarpal (story-teller name)
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: unknown (appears to be late 20s)
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 250lbs
Description:
A cursed man (see below for history), he is an anomaly to the Fay. Some Fay say he is a dragon, some say a demon, and still others say he is a cursed man (which is right). The features of his curse include: dragon-like wings that stretch to six-feet on either side of him, retractable claws (like the woman Wolverine fights in Xmen2), and dragon-like eyes (sort of like the Eye of Sauron from the LOTR movies) that he can switch at will with natural human eyes. He keeps his wings folded underneath his armor so that he can easily walk through a city of humans and not get a second glance. His armor, plate armor over chain mail, covers only his torso and legs, leaving his arms unhindered for the most part. Included with his armor is a helmet and shield. The chest plate of his armor bares the image of a coiled dragon with wings spread. His shield bares the image of a dragon head, and his helmet is designed like the upper part of a dragon’s head, with nose, eyes, a couple of teeth, and small horns on top. He wears a long cloak that hides everything very well, so much so that an observer would never think he was more than an ordinary traveler. His weapon of choice is a long sword called Dukar, “The Dragon Blade.” He wears his sword on his hip, and his shield on his back when not in use. Both of these items are also hidden by the cloak. Another characteristic of his curse is that he has limited magical ability, the bulk of which is used to hide his armor, shield, and sword, even when the cloak cannot. He believes that the less potential enemies know about him, the better, thus his secrecy.

He keeps the hood of his cloak up so that it hides his eyes in shadow, and with his magic, his eyes will always be hidden in shadow whenever his hood is up, no matter what. When his hood is down, he can hide his helmet from sight, unless he decides it to be visible. When his helmet isn’t visible, his hair is snow white, and at night, it shines with the light of the moon.

History:
A long time ago, he was a proud warrior in the service of a mighty power. He was the captain of the Guard of the Keep and their champion. He is a master swordsman having yet to find his equal, but he does not actively seek out his equal. One day, he crossed a rather temperamental wizard who cursed him. Due to this curse, his masters cast him out from their service, never to return to them until he was human again. For many years after, he raged through the mountains, trying to redeem himself and break the curse, but to no avail. He finally ended his rage, hid his true identity, and became a wandering story teller, traveling from town to town in exile. For hundreds of years did he wander, for the curse caused time to pass him by. Despite not having drawn his sword for centuries, he has lost none of his skill with the legendary blade. His blade was forged with the fires of dragons, made by the dwarves, and blessed by the elves, and wielded by a human.
