The Virgin Sacrifice (Closed for Emstar303)

Fen’s tongue was deep inside his lover’s warm depths when he submitted to her gentle encouragement on the back of his head and pressed his lip against her little nub more firmly. He felt her writhing against him. Her breath was coming faster now, and her musical moans massaged his ears. He was getting more of her delicious flavor, but it still wasn’t enough. He was hungry now, and he demanded to be sated. He pushed harder, moving his lips to stimulate her. His tongue was twisting and swirling around the slick skin of her insides. The liquid was coming faster, and the muscles were contracting, trying to catch his agile tongue. Her hips bounced underneath him, and she cried out in release.

There was a gush of Lily’s sweet nectar in his mouth, and he sealed his lips against hers in a lewd kiss. He was a greedy dragon, and he wanted every drop. He felt he could live off her honey--it was so wonderfully sweet and fragrant and her.

He moaned and sighed in contentment. With one last (for now) kiss to her lower lips, he gently slid her thighs off his shoulders and on to the bed. Her legs were followed quickly by his body. He couldn’t bear to give up the contact with her perfect skin for long. He smiled at his lover. It wasn't a threatening smile--he could never hurt her--but it was a devious smile. It was the smile of a dragon who had already taken his treasure, and had no intention of ever giving it up.

He lay next to her and looked into her eyes, softly caressing her cheek with his strong fingers. “Lily, that was amazing, You are amazing! I want to do that every day! I love you!”

If not for the wonderfully incredible bliss she was feeling, Lily may have suspected Fen was enjoying himself even more than her! He moaned low and loud against her sex as she came, her inner walls contracting around his tongue. He took all she had to give - not a drop was lost to the mattress or even his chin. His enthusiasm and the vibration of his moans prolonged her orgasm; she was still experiencing aftershocks even when Fen pulled away.

Fen gently slid her thighs off his shoulders and settled in beside her on the bed. "Mmm," Lily sighed happily as he caressed her cheek. She leaned into his hand, gazing at him lovingly. He was staring at her with a similar look of adoration as he exclaimed he wanted to taste of her nectar every day. Lily laughed in response and cuddled up next to him, lay her head on his chest and draped her arm over his torso, pulling him snugly against her.

'I love you too, Fen,' Lily said. she kissed his chest and starting running her hand up and down his side, just enjoying the feel of him. She looked at him and grinned. "I have no objection to you doing that every day. In fact, I'm going to have to insist on it," she teased him.

The hand that was running along his side moved inward, and she reached for his cock. She couldn't help but touch it, even though she'd just had it inside her. She liked the feel of him in her hand, liked the velvet-encased steel of his shaft. She wasn't looking for more necceasrily, just enjoying their closeness, holding the most intimate part of his body in her hand, gently rubbing her thumb against his sensitive flesh.

Fen was racking up a substantial list of favorite things to do with Lily. Flying, talking, and hugging and been on that list most of the time they’d known each other. Kissing, and now all the different kinds of sex were on the list as well. An underrated item on that list, though, was just laying next to each other and smiling. Lily's smile couldn’t really make her more beautiful, because a frown couldn’t make her any less so. It was more like opening a window on a fine piece of art. It was always beautiful, but now it’s brighter and you can see it better.

He eagerly accepted her insistence that he taste her every day. “You taste so good, Lily. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of your flavor.”

Her hand on his cock was just as good as the smile. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight to his body. “You should sleep, Lily. I’ll be here when you wake up.” After a moment, he added: “If you want to keep your hand there while you sleep, I won’t object.”

Lily grinned when he said he'd never grow tired of tasting her. She liked the sound of that. She wanted to taste him at some point too, but right now she was feeling rather tired from her orgasms. She brushed her hand over his cock lightly as he held her in his arms, her head nuzzled into his chest, just enjoying their closeness.

She laughed when he said she could keep her hand on his cock if she wanted to while she slept. Lily met his eye then lowered down to plant a kiss on his sculpted chest, then another soft, tender kiss to the head of his resting cock. She returned to her place beside him. "Good night, Fen," she told him, draping an arm over his chest as she nuzzled into his shoulder. "I love you."

Lily’s soft, gentle kiss on his chest was sweet and lovely. So was her kiss on the head of his cock, but it also made him roll his eyes and emit a low, rumbling, lusty hum.

“I love you, too.”

It was a quiet night. Fen could see the occasional firefly through the small window, and hear the near constant buzz of insects in the night air. He sensed no danger, but if he had they would have faced the wrath of a dragon with more to lose than most of them had ever had. Fen was glad there wasn’t any danger, though, because it meant he could stay there in bed with Lily in his arms.

He was used to having his nights available for hunting, reading, or just flying in the cool air. He didn’t want to do any of those. He was happy.

Hours later, the sunrise began peeking over the trees of the Great Forest, but he didn’t wake Lily. He would let her wake up on her own.

Lily fell asleep with a pleasant tingling between her thighs and a heart full of warmth. It was a wonderful feeling to love and be loved. She held onto Fen tightly, one hand on his chest, the other wrapped snugly around his cock. When she fell asleep her grip lessened, but she still held him close. He kept her nightmares away. Even though they faced a huge challenge in killing the witch, tonight Lily slept free of anxieties in her lover's arms.

When Lily finally awoke, the sun was high in the sky. It was almost 11am, but Lily need her sleep with all the excitement she'd been through the past few days. When she finally awoke she was filled with a burst of joy upon realizing Fen was beside her. "Good morning," she said sleepily. She dragged her fingers along his chest and gave his side a squeeze.

“Good morning to you, beautiful…”

Lily’s conscious touch on his chest was the last little bit of inspiration that his dormant cock needed to stiffen in her loose grip. The night had been so wonderful for him, even after she’d fallen asleep. It was the second night they’d spent in each other’s arms, but this one meant so much more. They were lovers, now, and Fen’s hope was that they would never spend another night apart.

One downside for Lily of having a lover who only slept once every few weeks, was that he had plenty of time during the night for his mind to wander. He got to spend hours holding her, yes, but that’s also hours to spend plotting. And, as much as he wanted to just lay there with her in his arms, he simply couldn’t resist. What’s more, now that they’d slept together, he felt it was time to take their relationship to the next level: teasing.

“Your father’s been knocking on the door for a while. Shall I invite him in?”

It wasn’t true, of course, but Fen waited a few seconds before letting Lily know that.

“I’m teasing! I haven’t heard from them since we came upstairs…”

He felt a bid bad, now. “I’m sorry, you’re just so cute, and I thought it would be fun to practice jokes. I’ve never had anyone to joke with before.”

Lily smiled at Fen when he greeted her to a new day. She realized she was still holding his cock when she felt it stiffen in her hand. She grinned even wider. She loved him so much, body and soul. It was funny how her greatest source of fear had turned into her greatest source of comfort in the span of a few days. She stroked his cock gently, lovingly, and kissed his chest.

When Fen told her her father had been knocking at the door for a while now, Lily sat up and threw off her blankets in a panic.

“I’m teasing! I haven’t heard from them since we came upstairs…”

Although he had worried her, the expression on Fen's face was just too cute to remain mad at him for long. He was just practicing his jokes after all. Lily bobbed him on the nose and rolled over on top of him. "You can practice jokes all you want, but please don't joke about my father," she said. "It's a miracle he allowed us to stay in the same room! I suspect we have Elizabeth to thank for that." She smiled at Fen. Her body was resting on top of his, soft breasts against his hard chest. She kissed his neck then sat up so she was straddling him.

She felt tingles start to spread from her core from resting astride him, at feeling his cock pressed against her naked center. She leaned forward again as if to kiss him, but then began clobbering him with a soft pillow playfully and giggling a little instead. "This is teasing too!" she explained, lobbing him with the pillow a few more times. Then she rubbed her center against his stiffening cock, felt the head glide against her clit, then down to tease her entrance. It gently prodded her opening but didn't slip inside. Lily moaned, "And so is this..."

“Hehehehehe! Thank you for teaching me all about teasing.”

It felt good to laugh. Fen hadn’t had many opportunities, growing up so alone. There were so many things he was looking forward to sharing with Lily. Being around her felt comfortable and exciting in equal measure.

Being underneath her soft, warm, naked body felt comfortable and exciting as well, and a certain part of him was getting very excited indeed. He reached his hand under her legs, grabbing his cock to rub it back and forth along her slit.

He lowered his voice, rumbling in a near whisper. “Do you know what kind of teasing is my favorite?”

"Mmm is it the sexual kind? Because I think that might be my favorite kind of teasing," Lily said as Fen rubbed his cock along her damp slit. His voice was deep and sexy. She was so eager for him again, so excited to be filled by him.

It was amazing how comfortable they were around each other already. Lily didn't feel at all shy - she felt so beautiful under his gaze. She pressed her hands to his chest, felt the fuzzy, soft light blonde hair between her fingers and his strong muscles underneath his warm skin. She looked into his beautiful eyes with a wide smile as she waited for his answer.

Fen’s smile was just about starting to hurt his jaw. He ran his fingers down her arm. Her skin was so soft and smooth. Since she was stuck with a single form, he was glad it was such a perfect one. “That’s the kind I was thinking of, but the truth is I love both of them. I love anything, as long as it’s with you.” On the word you, he pushed his cock into her.

The next sound out of Fen’s mouth was one of his draconic growl/moans, low enough to vibrate his chest. “I missed this. I may not be able to go back to not having sex with you.” He started slowly thrusting his hips.

Fen was so romantic; he was like a knight in a fairy tale with his sweet words, except he was a dragon and she wasn't a princess. The way he looked at her with such affection filled her with joy. She loved him so much. He was so sincere, kind, and straightforward. He also made her feel safe.

Lily shuddered as he pushed upwards, burying his cock inside her deeply with one hard thrust of his hips. She was ready for him, always ready to ride her dragon, her sex already slickening for him. His thick cock spread her open but felt so good. She gasped as Fen growled. It was the most amazing sound.

"Ohh - why would we ever go back?" Lily asked on a moan. She moved her hips on top of him, grinding forward and pressing him deeper inside. "I want to keep having sex with you for the rest of my life."

She leaned back, resting her hands on the bed, baring her breasts to him as she rode him slowly and sensually, savoring the pleasure in each movement.

Fen’s heart almost leapt out of his chest. She wanted to be with him for the rest of their lives! As much as he thought she seemed to have true and deep feelings for him, he hadn’t heard her say it out loud. It soothed his soul to feel so secure in her feelings for him.

“I want that too, Lily. I want that so much. I don’t want to be apart from you again. I’ll follow you anywhere. I’ll even live my life as a human if I have to. Whatever it takes to be with you.”

It was hard to concentrate on his words. Lily’s breasts were a welcome distraction, bouncing as her chest moved up and down. Her tight channel was pulling on his cock, sucking at the cum that he wasn’t quite ready to give. He was getting close, though.

“Oh, Lily, you feel so good. You make me feel so good.”

He sat up, meeting her gyrations with thrusts of his own, and latching his lips onto her pink, plump nipple. He sucked, swirling his tongue around the stiff flesh.

He felt that tingling, pulling feeling again in his balls. “I’m...ah, I’m close, my love.”

His words made her heart soar. He never wanted to be apart from her ever again. He said he would follow her anywhere. He even said he would be willing to give up his dragon form for her. Lily shook her head fiercely, but it took a moment for her to find the right words to say as her body quaked with pleasure. She rocked her hips just so, grinding her clit against his pelvis, sliding his cock in and out of her again and again. She'd want him to be human in public in order to protect them, but in private he could be his dragon self, any form, as long as there was space for him. She almost laughed at the thought of Fen transforming into his full dragon form in a small cottage of their own, breaking through the roof. She wanted to answer him in full, but instead, her answer was wrought with moans but all too true. "I want you to be you. I love you so much."

She leaned down and kissed him before he got a chance to answer. Her tongue danced with his, her lips pressed hard and passionately against him. When she finally broke their kiss and leaned up to better angle her hips just so, he clamped his lips down around one of her hardened nipples. Lily moaned and pulled his head closer, her nipple tingling from his long, slippery tongue and the suction of his lips.

He pulled away to tell her he was close. She could feel his cock pulse inside her as his orgasm approached. Lily rode him harder, chasing her own release.

Lily wanted him to be himself! There had been a still, small voice inside him worried that she was only attracted to his human form. Now, it was quiet. He felt a peace and comfort that hadn’t been in his life before. He also wondered if she would ever want to have sex with him in his draconic form, his larger triangular cock splitting her open while his powerful, scaly claws squeezed her soft, pink breasts. That thought pushed him over the edge, and they came together, drained and blissful, Lily laying atop her dragon.

Fen lay there, as relaxed as he had ever been. He was nervous about fighting the sorceress, but now that she knew he was out there they couldn’t trust that she would leave them alone. She also likely knew Lily’s face, so neither of them were safe. They needed to get William and Elizabeth to safety, and then discuss their plans. Unfortunately, that meant getting out of bed.

He changed his mind. “Are you sure we can’t just stay here? I can be back in a few hours with enough gold to buy the place, and then we can just stay in bed. For years.”

Lily came breathlessly, holding onto Fen's head, breasts bouncing in his face as her pussy fluttered around him, head flung back in ecstasy.

When they finished Lily lay atop him, never wanting to move. She would love nothing more than to lay in bed with Fen all day, cuddling, fucking, many reading one of the books tucked away on the shelves. But she knew that was unrealistic. She'd already got to ride him for fun twice, and now it was time to ride him for business.

He seemed to have the same notion as he soon got a serious look on his face... only to tell her they should buy the inn and stay in bed indefinitely. Lily laughed happily but a touch bitterly. "We have to deal with the witch first. Let's get my father and Elizabeth to my uncle's safely then be on our way back to the Kingdom," Lily reasoned, sounded braver than she felt. Reluctantly, she dismounted from Fen and sat beside him.

"I hate to put all the pressure on you, but did you happen to come up with any brilliant plans while you slept?" she laughed lightly, mostly joking but also hopeful.

Lily was right, as much as Fen wanted to disagree. They needed to deal with this witchy threat before they could relax. He didn’t have much of a plan, but he had the seed of an idea.

“She doesn’t know that I can become human. We should be able to use that. Maybe Elizabeth knows her habits and we can catch her outside?”

He enjoyed sitting there on the bed with Lily, even talking about how to kill an evil sorceress. As close as they’d become, they hadn’t had many quiet, stress-free moments yet. And they likely wouldn’t for some time.

Fen reluctantly started getting dressed. “You three probably need some breakfast before we start flying, huh?”

"That's a good idea," Lily told her dragon lover. "I'm sure we can use that to our advantage. Let's ask Elizabeth over breakfast."

Lily got dressed back into the gown Fen had gifted her. The soft velvet felt so splendid on her skin. The young lovers then made their way down to the first floor to get a meal for Lily.

"About time you lovebirds got up!" Elizabeth said. She was sitting close to Lily's father at one of the tables down in the bar of the inn. They had empty plates with remains of lunch on them and half-full glasses of ale.

Lily blushed and could only meet her father's eyes briefly as she took a seat next to Fen at the table. Her father and Elizabeth sat across from them. It was odd they weren't seated across from each other. Elizabeth was leaning into William affectionately. They had clearly gotten to know each other quickly during this brief adventure as well.

Fen let out an involuntary growl when Lily covered up. He hadn’t wanted last night or this morning to end. He held onto the promise that there would be more, and in the meantime he tried to focus on preparing his mind for the more immediate issues.

They walked downstairs, and Fen was glad to see Elizabeth and William getting along. He didn’t know the man very well, but based on their brief time together he thought William needed someone fiery and playful and passionate like Elizabeth the way he needed someone sweet and joyful and steady like Lily.

He enjoyed sitting at the table with them as they ate, although Elizabeth noticed that he wasn’t partaking.

“Nothing for ya, Fen? I would think a...fella like you would need a hearty breakfast.”

“My table manners would be...conspicuous. I’ll need something after we reach our destination, though. I may even need to sleep. We’ll see. I trust you two had a pleasant evening?”

William seemed to react with a start to that question, although Fen didn’t know why. Elizabeth was able to answer, though. “We did, thank ya. And thank ya fer introducin’ me ta this family. William and Lily,” She raised her cup of morning tea. “Ye’re wonderful people, both of ya. There’s no one I’d rather run from an evil witch with.”

Fen laughed at her words, thankful to have her around to lighten the mood. Every time he thought about the sorceress his mind went to a dark place, but he wouldn’t change the last few days of his life for anything.

After Lily had eaten, William paid their bill, which Fen promised to pay him back for, and then they walked outside to find a secluded area to take off from. Fen undressed, to blushes from everyone, and soon his true form dominated the hidden grove. It wasn’t too hidden, though, because before they could start strapping in, timynfingers reached up to grab Lily’s.

“Lady? Is that a real dragon?”

A girl who couldn’t have been more than eight years old had stumbled on them and seen Fen transform.

Fen turned his head to the girl. She was so innocent, and it reminded Fen of the innocence he hadn’t been able to have in his life. He tried to keep as much of the deep, booming rumble out of his voice as possible. “I am a real dragon, young lady. My name is Fen. What’s your name?”

“Kora”

“Kora, we need you to keep me a secret, okay? Can you do that for me?”

The little girl nodded. “Uh-huh, mister Fen.” She paused, thinking. “Can I see you fly?”

Fen nodded, his giant jaw widened into a toothy smile.

Lily laughed at Elizabeth's lighthearted comments. She was glad Fen had found her, glad her father would have a friend if she didn't return... No, she couldn't think like that. She had a dragon, of course they could take down the witch. She had to believe that.

"Do you think Uncle Roland will be pleased to see us?" she asked her father, making conversation over their breakfast.

"Deep down he will be, but he's always been a bit of a loner. Lizzie and I won't trouble him long though, we'll find a place to call home."

"Lizzie?" Lily smiled. So Elizabeth already had a nickname.

Her father blushed and drank some water silently, not meeting his daughter's inquiring glances.

When they finished their meal, the group headed outside, and Fen transformed. Everyone looked away except for Lily. She admired his nude form boldly, both his human and scaled dragon form. Then he transformed fully and the sight of him again took her breath away. He was beautiful and magnificent. Strong and elegant. Lily leapt up on to him without delay then helped her father and Elizabeth aboard.

She'd been so distracted admiring the dragon she'd come to love that she didn't notice a young girl approach them until it was too late. Lily tried to come up with some sort of excuse, tell her it was a dream, anything, but Fen opted to tell her the truth before any of his three human companions could come up with an excuse.

She promised to keep him a secret, and they had no choice but to take her word for it. Besides, she was a child, would anyone take her word seriously? Lily tried not to overthink it and waved goodbye to the girl as Fen took off into the skies.

"Keep heading south. If you see the ocean you'll know you've gone too far."

"There's a big lighthouse in Daros, where my brother Roland lives. If we go too far, just travel the coast until we see it," Lily's father, William explained.

Although her father and Elizabeth were still uneasy riding a dragon like this, they were a little less scared than yesterday, though Lily's father's grip on one of the horns protruding from Fen's shoulders seemed tight enough to crack it!

The wind felt so good on his face. Wherever he and Lily ended up, he hoped it was remote enough that he could go flying sometimes. Maybe she would even want to come with him? If they could find a trustworthy blacksmith he could commission something a little more permanent than the ropes they were using at the moment. The idea of a saddle felt like it should be degrading, but the thought of Lily using one on him made him feel warm and tingly.

He flew for hours, making wide circles to avoid flying over the few towns they passed. The landscape was much flatter, as they moved further from the mountains. Fen was excited to be able to explore, even under these circumstances. When he saw the forest abruptly end at an endless field of blue, he almost stopped in midair. He’d read about oceans, but the words did not do it justice. It looked like it went on forever!

Eventually they saw the remote lighthouse, and Fen landed on the beach, transforming and accepting his clothes from Lily with a smile. He was glad that William and Elizabeth were safe, at least. Now they just had to figure out how to keep Lily safe.

It was sunset by the time they reached Daros. Though they'd been on their behinds all day long, holding on to a dragon kept you quite awake and alert so all three of the humans were looking forward to a restful night. For Elizabeth and William, they had reached their final destination. It was tempting to call this her and Fen's final destination as well, but Lily would not be at peace until the witch lay dead. She couldn't live the rest of her life constantly looking over her shoulder for fear her beloved dragon would be captured. She just couldn't.

"Nice flying, Fen, I think I may just have gotten used to it now that it's all finally done with," William said with a chuckle now that they'd landed.

Lily blushed when Fen transformed into his human form, but now not because she was shy about it, but because of the memory of the intimate moments, they'd shared together. She handed him his clothes, grinning like a fool in love.

William led the way from the beach and into town. It was a fairly large town, with lots of crisscrossing pathways and chattering peasants. Her father led them around for several minutes, but on the third time passing the tavern Lily stopped them.

"Dad, do you actually know where Uncle Roland lives? We've passed this tavern 3 times."

"We 'ave? Oh my! I hadn't even noticed!" Elizabeth laughed jollily, clamping her hand on his forearm. "What're ya doin' William? Don't tell me ya gone senile on us!"

William shook her off, "No, no, it's just been quite some time since I've seen my brother. Two decades almost. I don't exactly know where he lives, but I know that I'll know it when I see it."

Lily raised a quizzical eyebrow at her father and pointed to the tavern. "Why don't we just ask inside? Someone is bound to know."

This tavern was a bit smaller than the inn they'd stayed in previously. There was a more diverse assortment of people and creatures inside this tavern too, being a coastal settlement. Elves, orcs, dwarfs. Lily kept her eyes peeled for scales, though she'd never heard of dragon kind being known outside of fairy tales, and Fen, of course. "Why don't you guys take a seat and I'll ask around?" she suggested.

Lily approached the bar, but she had to wait several moments before getting the barmaid's attention. "Does a Roland Everly live in this town?"

"Aye, practically lives in this bar, he does."

Lily laughed light-heartedly. "But where does he actually live?"

The barmaid gave her directions to Roland's house, apparently, he lived inside a modest home by the west exit. Lily thanked her for the information then went to join back up with her party.

Elizabeth was busy making friends with some locals, and her father must have went off to use the bathroom because when Lily spotted the table she found Fen sitting alone chatting with a beautiful elvan woman who'd approached their table. Lily felt an unfamiliar stab of jealousy as she neared.

"...haven't seen you here before. I would have remembered a face as handsome as yours," the pretty elf was saying, poking her dragon in the chest playfully. Lily felt a bit like she was going to transform into a dragon herself.

The tavern was smaller than the Firefly Inn, but it was very nice, especially the slight smell of fish in the air. Fen had only ever had a few trout from a stream near his fist cave, but he liked them very much. He also enjoyed seeing so many different people. He knew of elves, dwarves, and orcs of course, but he’d never seen any of them. One of the elves was even coming up to speak to him!

She had a slight smirk on her face. “Haven’t seen many elves, sir?”

Fen smiled at her. “No, I haven’t. Or dwarves, or orcs. I...have been very sheltered until recently.” Should he not have said that? Surely that wasn’t something the witch could use to find him. Lots of people grew up alone, right? Didn’t they?

She narrowed her eyes as she returned his smile. “Odimia?”

Was she speaking a different language? What did sollet mean? “I don’t understand.”

She giggled, a high, tinkling sound, and sat down at Fen’s table. “You’re from Odimia, aren’t you? Tiny little kingdom on the other side of the Great Forest? They don’t like folk other than humans much over there.“

Fen had no idea what that little kingdom had been called, but that sounded right. They certainly didn’t like dragons. “Near there.”

The elf smiled and held out her hand. “I’m Galla.”

Fen froze. Should he tell her his name? Would that give away that he was a dragon? Would she get suspicious if he gave her a fake name and then one of his companions called him Fen in front of her?

“Fen...man. Fenman Ah..mm...ull. Fenman Ahmul! Sorry, I got distracted.”

She giggled again. “Oh, you’re cute, Fenman. What brings you to Daros? I haven't seen you here before. I would have remembered a face as handsome as yours,” she said, poking him in the chest playfully.

At that moment Lily walked over. Fen smiled at her. He was so happy to see her, even thought they’d only been apart for a few minutes. “Lily!” He tugged her down to sit next to him on the bench. “Galla here has been very friendly.” He leaned over to whisper in her ear. “She’s an elf.” Addressing Galla, he introduced Lily. “This is my…” What were they supposed to call each other? Friends did not seem adequate, but they hadn’t talked about it. They also didn’t have any kind of formal relationship. In the end, he decided on simple honesty. “This is my Lily. I’m her Fen.”

Fen was adorable as ever. When he noticed Lily's presence, he tugged her down into the seat beside him. Lily smiled at him and purposely rested her side against him, rubbed her leg up and down his as he introduced her to the beautiful elvan woman. He seemed to fumble over the introduction at first, but Lily was overjoyed at the result. He'd called her "my Lily" and referred to himself as "her Fen". Lily squeezed his hand under the table and lovingly ran her fingertips along his knuckles. She didn't feel any of that jealously anymore as Fen had assured her of his love entirely unintentionally, just by being himself. She loved him so much.

Lily smiled at Galla and held out her free hand in a friendly gesture. "Nice to meet you."

The wood elf grinned with perfect, sparkling teeth and shook Lily's hand. "Nice to meet you too. My apologies, "Fen's" Lily. I have to admit I was flirting with your husband. I didn't realize he belonged to you," She gave a little laugh, not mocking, just amused at the peculiar couple.

"He's not my husband," Lily corrected the elf.

Galla looked hopeful. "Oh?" she inquired, flashing a grin at Fen.

"But we are together," Lily clarified.

"Oh," she repeated, in a much less excited tone this time. "Well, you best hold on to him tight then. This town's full of old men smelling of the sea. Women around here are eager to be with something that's different. Not too often do such handsome humans pass through here."

"Thanks, but we won't be staying long. Just passing through," Lily said. There was a hint of agitation in her voice.

Galla gave them one last winning smile then finally turned and left them alone.

"People are really friendly around here," she observed to Fen. "Just don't tell them where we are really from, okay?"

Fen’s face fell. “Oh gosh, Lily, Galla guessed! I mean, I think she did. I was staring at the elves and dwarves and orcs and she said I must be from Odimia. Are we from Odimia? I’m so sorry. I should have kept my mouth shut.”

Fen had had a fleeting thought that he shouldn’t say anything, but he hadn’t listened to that cautious thought. “Do you think it could cause a problem?”

Lily’s reassurance made him feel better, but he still resolved to be more aware in the future.

Once William and Elizabeth were gathered, they followed Lily’s directions to make their way to Roland’s home. It was a humble cottage by the cliffs, and there was a sullen-looking man sitting in a chair under the eaves.

William leaned over to look under his hood. “Roland?”

He looked up, but his expression didn’t brighten. “William? I’m surprised to see you here. Is this Lily and her husband? And who’s this? I thought your wife passed?”
