So pissed. Apparently he can pay us "any time between the 9th and the 22nd". I am so going to Citizens Advice on Monday morning, surely that can't be legal, I would think we would have to get a specific pay date?? How are we supposed to manage direct debits and the like??

Hmm, Irish law is not my wheelhouse but generally in Australian employment contracts, there's a section on remuneration setting out when employees are paid (e.g. Employee's salary shall be $X per annum. Pay shall be made on a fortnightly basis on the 1st and 15th of each month).
Some random time period does sound a bit odd, especially if they have to pay taxes etc. Definitely worth going to Citizens Advice, or don't know if you have something like a Department of Employment ? They tend to deal with employee's rights, etc.
