I don't really see how people can defend what's happening there. But then, I still hear people calling Trayvon Martin an attempted cop-killer (??????????) so I'm not really fucking surprised.

'They're all animals/savages/criminals/hoodlums/etc, and they should know to expect the police to treat them this way.' This is basically the dehumanizing of an entire race and population, and treating them all as guilty until proven innocent. It's madness.

This same shit happened over 20 years ago after the Rodney King beating. People want to act like we're so advanced and American has come so far, but can you really tell the difference between then and now?

This shit happens ALL the time. Eric Garner, Amadou Diallo... (Although the Garner inquiry is ongoing.) There's a list of Black Americans who have been killed or brutalized by the police with zero consequences handed out. And that's not even focusing in on the specific groups that are targeted, such as black trans women or the black LGBTQPIA community. So... fuck the police.

I had long hair all my life and then had it all chopped off last year. It felt awesome and I've kept it short since. And if you don't like it? It'll always grow back.
