Can't we go back and try Sunday again. I don't know about you, but mine was pretty appalling.

Actually I was thinking that tomorrow just needs to hurry up and get here I have WAAAAY too much to do tomorrow and just wanna get it done so I can relax tomorrow evening.

Yes....thank you....I'm not sure where time goes, but it.....goes

I'm sure in the last few months the week has reduced to 6 days....

LT: I read a theory once that suggested that discrete packets of time go past more quickly as we get older because they are a smaller proportion of our overall lives. So as a simple example, a 5 year old who waits for Christmas feels like it's forever because it's a 5th of their life, whereas for someone like me, annual dates come around more quickly because they're a 46th of my life.

In a few more years, things will go by so quickly that I'll have to permanently wear a seatbelt!

Technically, it really was. Seeing it in IMAX 3D was astonishing.

I'm going off track, but then I'm hardly on track...

I have an old DVD (kids won't know what those are)

But it's called Punch Drunk Love. I saw it when it came out (yeah - THAT long ago)

Can you give retrospective Oscars?

I need to revisit that. I saw it years ago, just after it first came out, and really, really didn't like it. But I wonder if I might appreciate it now that's it's been a few years (...or decades).

*nods*

Not quite decades....

But a while....

PS As odd as it might sound, I went on a mother's group night out (long story)....

They all liked it, but trying to explain the premise to someone who hadn't seen it and making it sound like it was worth watching was almost as entertaining as watching it!

I can imagine! The pudding thing alone...

Though, admittedly, I don't remember a ton about that movie either. Mostly, just my intense apathy bordering on dislike for it. But, it's also entirely possible I didn't 'get' it at the time, either, and would now.

If you get to see it, I would be interested in what you think now.

Also, we were more a wine and cheese mothers group, though sweets were never eschewed ;)

Yeah, but if that is all a movie has going for it that doesn't really make it a good movie. You could argue the same point with all the other 3D movies they had made. Transformers, Pacific Rim, Avatar....

I think movies need more substance than a flying object in my face. Granted, it's cool to watch but that's about it really. Avatar had some pretty cool special effects, and so did Gravity but does that mean they deserve to sweep the board with just about every other award?

I see what you're saying, but I would put Gravity above those other movies regardless of special effects as well.

But even that aside, most of the awards it won were technical ones. It didn't get a writing award, and Her would've deserved it even if Gravity had been nominated. I thought Cuaron deserved best director, and I think he is unquestionably a good one, so that was hardly a travesty.

I would argue that 12 Years winning over Her was more incorrect than Gravity winning any of it's awards.

After a dark couple of days...am starting to feel like myself again.

That was horrible.

Sooo tired of snow and it being cold. Somebody make it spring right now, please.
