Thinkings, feelings and...doings ~ 2013

I'd suggest getting yourself a stretching partner, just to keep an eye on you

grins and leaves a hug for a Fish

*hugs back*

Thank you, though I'm not sure watching an old dinosaur Fish go through his (slow) paces is all that exciting :rose:

Oh, I'm quite sure it would be.

smiles

It'd be you I'd be watching, after all.
You're eminently exciting. And interesting... And intelligent... And eloquent...

Tired of winter. I just want to plant some flowers and laze around my yard. Urrrrgh.

hugs

I sympathise. We had gotten rid of almost all our snow and then....snowstorm all day Friday.

Good for snowmen building though.

grins

Aw, the worst! At least some snowmen were gotten out of it. Here it's no snow, just cold and windy. The sun's shining, too, which manages to present a "maybe you can go for a walk!" falsehood.

Oh, so that's why you get credit cards...so people know you exist and will lend you money....

.......fuck.

That would be most distracting!

Not saying it wouldn't be nice though....*shrugs*

Actually, they have at least one legitimate complaint. Obviously, they are referring to the accuracy of the movie to the story (which is almost as bad since the Noah story isn't exactly hundreds of pages in the Bible, but that's another thing...). One of the big complaints is that, in the movie, Noah doesn't have a personal relationship with God. That's a pretty big deal. For that to be absent, for Noah and God's relationship to be no different than God and anyone else, that's huge. At least from a storytelling perspective. That's like Moses and God never talking, or Aragorn not being the heir of Isildur.

I don't really see that as legitimate, either.

About the only real complaint I could see is that Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Nick Nolte, Anthony Hopkins, and Ray Winstone are all the wrong race for that story, in that time, in that place.

But anything else, they're taking artistic license with a story that's already been artistic licensed the fuck out of to begin with. You can't build a wooden ship that big and have it float, there's never been a worldwide flood, humanity has never experienced a bottleneck that small, and you obviously cannot fit all the animals of the world on one boat. And certainly not without a lot of them killing a lot of the others.
