This forum is so damn slow...

There have been time where this forum has been slow in the past, but lately it's terrible. Is anybody else having problems? Is it going to stay like this?

If you're referring to traffic and post counts, summer is always slow because people are doing other things than hanging out online.

If you're referring to page loading speed, it's up and down throughout the day. Part of that is your ISP, part of it is the Lit server, part is the site, part is the traffic load on the site, part is the time of day. Afternoons and late night seems slowest for me, the rest of the time it's not too bad.

Will any of this change? Probably not.

I've never had any problems with page loads until recently. I figured it was because of the ISP where I am right now and it will be back to normal when I return home.

I have been having problems with site the few days. They probably need to purge some of the old stuff on here.

purge? you haven't been here long enough. i have my forum preferences set to 100 posts/thread page. there's threads that are literally thousands of pages long.

i think you're absolutely right, mind, that they really should purge the older stuff, but in all the time i've been here, never once seen that happen.
