I am reading The Elegant Universe at the moment, it makes my mind fly in so many directions at once I have to keep re-reading bits to make sure I have not missed anything.

I am sure it would help if I had an understanding of science/maths

Bingo. I have had assorted math and physics classes, plus I read assorted books on the subject, and still I have to re-read almost every section of that book at least once before it sticks in my head.

Sometimes more than once!

Did you know there is also a 4-part television show based on the book? I almost bought it off of Amazon but then I found out my friend T has it, so I'm going to borrow from her. I bet watching the program to get the big concepts and then reading the book afterwards to get the finer details would really help make all that info more manageable.

OMG, I've read all of Laurell K. Hamiltons books. Both the vampire hunter series and the newer faerie one. I have an interesting book collection too but I got rid of a lot of them when I moved or they are still in my buddies basement in Colorado.

I have some on older Volkswagen perfomance modifications, a bunch of books on low light photography and model photography. Stuff on lighting and composition. I have some art books, I love Luis Royo. Several cookbooks, including the one from the two fat ladies. I have one on medieval feasts and cooking. Several anime art books. Somewhere I have one called the History of Mathematics. Health and nutrition books and I can't seem to locate my Different Loving book on BDSM. Hmmmm. I have French, German and Chinese language programs. You would think it would be Spanish considering where I live. I also can't find my collection of Psychology Today but I also have a psychology of obsessive love book. Comes in handy when you have female friends with obsessive exes and stalkers. I also have the Cambridge Star Atlas.
