Thought I'd try again (one last time)

Well, I'm deffinatly very odd.

As an example, I'm currently writing a story based in the Cthulu mythos, that seems to have taken on a life of it's own (yes... bad pun intended).

Been a rough week, wanted to say hi to everyone and sorry that I haven't responded to this thread in a little while.

Hope everyone's doing well though :D

Oh side notes: The Last Airbender is worth a view, buddhist monks have the best sense of humour and well... I dunno, what's on your mind?

Bored tonight,

Seeing if anyone's around....

Would love a nice deep discussion about... well anything... from movies (seen far too many lately and no one to really give me their thoughts) to ghosts

Hi

Did you get back to that girl who conveniently curved herself into your lap the other day, Or didn't she pan out?

Just pasting through... I'm no one ... important.

Interesting turn of phrase.... not quite sure what context to put it in.

I really am just here to meet new friends and have fun. And talking/debating is always fun :D.

And... I will take issue with the last thing you said. Everyone's important. Every last person affects the world through their comings and goings - even if it's a first post in a strange thread.

**************************************

I actually had something fun to put up here as a discussion, or just something rambling through my head. Unfortunatly, it's before noon, I've only had a limited ammount of sleep, and it has subsiquently left my brain.

So: Tattoos? Do you like them, do you have them, what was it like?

Sometimes

Once upon a time I thought I owned an important cog in the way things turned in this world. Nothing big, but I helped the world turn.

I haven't felt anywhere near that important or needed since I became unemployed but I know that isn't anywhere anything new now a days, so I'll just answer your query.

Tattoos. I have nothing against them. When I was much younger I thought of getting one. Now I'm not sure why I wanted it on my body. Since I won't get one now, unless it's to cover up a large scar.

At the time I wanted a picture that I had come with and used for a while. It was a heart that had cracked down the middle. One half was coloured white and the other part would have been coloured black. It was kinda suppose to show that I was an Oreo. Half white and half black.

Which if you thought about was a bit odd. I came from the islands (Caribbean, not Turks). I just about never saw a white person unless they were on TV or showed up for carnival and we use to laugh at time because they couldn't dance. But I was never 'black'.

I have nothing against people having tattoos since I thought of getting one, but I do think that some people go to far like woman who wear a mask of makeup.

Your view on it all?

Chicks with tats are hot, but only on their left wrist, on the inside. More so ones from Australia. In fact, legend here says they are best viewed in person ;)

I have one. On my left wrist. I adore it. Ask me real nice and I'll show it to you. It was like...no where near as painful as childbirth, or having anything lanced. About the same level of pain as the very front bit of a brazillian? Which probably wont help you much as a frame of reference.

I'm new here, but I liked your thread and since I love tattoos I thought I'd put in my two cents. I have 3 tattoos and I love them all. I have japanese writing on my inner right wrist, sun/moon bracelet on my left wrist, and skull and crossbones with a purple bow on the back of my neck (my av). It seems a random collection to be sure, but each one it important for a different reason. I spent a long time thinking about what to get, it's meaning, and it's placement. I feel like having tats is a lifelong committment and some people don't think about them enough before going and getting the newest, coolest thing. The ones on my wrist were painful, but not unbearable, the one on my neck barely hurt at all.

bump?

No engaging comments about what I wrote in reply to your question?

No thoughts of your own on the question you presented me, never mind the whole thread?

Hmmmm fair enough :D

I actually know what you mean. It's hard to feel as important as you grow up, and even more so when you're unemployed. But it does give you a chance to reflect on things.

Everytime I get a little down, I think that every breath I take alters the course of everything in the world. Imagine if you tried to do more than just breath ;)

I've been trying to get a Tat for a while now, things just haven't worked out with my friend, who's the artist. I've finally really settled on an idea of what I want and where... at least for my first one. Just need to find the time
For me, I think it should be something that's important to you, something that means something and will continue to mean something
I've never understood people who get things "Cause it's cool!" or what not

heh, and I am deffinatly a white guy who can't dance... people have tried to teach me, and failed epicly

Sorry for my late reply

Something is up with my inbox. It marked your response as read, so I didn't see it until now.

I think most (white) people don't know how to dance well if they didn't do something with their body that requires them to be in beat/sync with a song.

All those dances that grown ups let kids go to or had for kids years and years ago were waltzes. If it wasn't that they were just sitting and watching music being played.

When the kids broke out and moved to (new) music, they had to make stuff up and with not seeing how it was done or could be done, they didn't move that well, but they felt free and happy, which is and was good enough. :) Now, most people have learned and figured it out how to dance, so it just leaves the older set. :)

As for why they weren't allowed to move that way to start with, would drag the church in to this and I don't like them much.

Thanks for sharing your view, now I'm off to bed. :)

Later.

It of course depends what kind of dancing you are talking about

as Most western dancing (and to an extent, even African... not to sure about Asian tbh) - was used as a way to teach the young to dance. Young lords were expected to be able to dance with a woman as they did with a sword.

I'm pretty decent with a sword, and still step on feet when I try to dance.

Just a bump for tonight

You know how to fence?

I think that is so cool that I'm impressed.

*random memory* I love Highlander. The series more than the movies. Not so random if you remember all the part of people being taught how to use a sword.

As for the dancing... I do remember something like that. But I don't think that happened for Africans.

Sorry, I don't bump well. I talk or I'm silent. Which you prefer would depend on my mood.

I do actually know how to fence, though I haven't practiced in a few months, too much other work (need to get back into it.) I also practice Kendo, though I primarily work form, since I'm not big on actual combat.

I just bought Highlander 1 and 2 :D - I love the Cyberpunk feel of 2. But it really is a "Love it or HATE it" kind of movie. Couldn't really get into the Highlander TV show. Maybe I was just the wrong age.

As for african dancing and combat. This is quoted from Wiki because I'm too damn lazy to pull my own books out at 2:30am :D

Warrior Dances. One example of a warrior dance is Agbekor. Franci Elkins, a world renowned African dancer, has been quoted as saying that this is her favorite dance. Agbekor comes from the Foh and Ewe people. It is an ancient dance once known as Atamga. Agbekor is often performed at cultural events and at funerals. Dance movements mimic battlefield tactics such stabbing with the end of the horsetail. This dance consists of phrases of movements. A phrase consists of a "turn" which occurs in every phrase and then a different ending movement. These phrases are added back to back with slight variations within them, and make up the dance.

Still here? :)

I thought that you were just bumping and running. :)

Well, I concede to the influences for some African dances.

As for fencing, it's a shame more people don't do it. I hear it's quite a workout. I'm sure that helped you choose to do Kendo as well.

I use to play karate when I was in school during recess. I use to beat up all the boys. They said I was good. :) But the only formal training, I had in anything, was when I did Ti Chi for 3 or so months years and years ago.

The wrong age for Highlander? Well I know that if you look back at it now, it will look very, very dated, which might put you off of it, but if you watched when it came out, you just have this fondness for it. But after watching the series you learn to separate them from the movies. They are two different creatures, but they they are both beasts. :)

If that makes any sense to you. :)

I just learned something. You are on the East Cost like me. :) But which state?

I ment more the wrong age for Highlander the Series. I think I was a bit too young when it first hit TV for me to really... get into.
Maybe now that I'm older, might have to look into it.

I'm a geek though and love strange TV and series and stuff. Currently working my way through Farscape...

And, actually, I'm in the middle, though above the east coast.
I'm in Ontario Canada :D
*****************************

Not sure if may people even read to the 2nd page,
but kinda down - blah today
I know the reasons for it, not much I can do,
Might go out and get some dinner later
But if anyones around and wants to chat tonight, cheer me up a bit
just say hi :D

Down?

I'm interested in finding out how your day went. Can't say it's worst than mine or better than mine. The only high light is what a mosquito bit me on my upper lip and it swelled up.

But do tell. I would love to hear something outside of my life.

I'm on line normally until 4am, but Fridays are odd, but I'll try to be here all the same so reply when you get back from dinner. :)

As for being too young, you are only 30. How much difference could 3 years be? How young were you when you remember not liking Highlander?

As for Farscape. I loved that show. I mentally killed who ever it was that canceled it. I couldn't watch it for years afterwords because I was still that upset over it. They are just how showing it in Canada?

FireFly left a much smaller scar, but I'm not happy with the pilot being killed in the movie.

What would cheer you up?

My days are usually kind of boring. Make sure everyone is doing their job, schedules are being kept, that sort of thing.
I'm also trying to get a bunch of writing in when I get the chance, see if I can keep my brain working ;)
Fortunatly, We don't get a lot of mosquitoes where I live, can't remember the last time I was bit. (Watch, I'll get bit tonight)

I'm usually online all night. Lately I haven't felt much like sleeping.

I think I was around 15 when I first tried to watch Highlander the series. And it just didn't strike the right cords with me. But then again, I felt the same way about Turn A and Firefly the first time I watched them, and both are now one of my favourite series.

Nah, I missed farscape on it's initial run, I just went out and bought the DVD set and the movies, so I've been slowly working my way through them. The show really was brilliant in a very absurdist way.

The thing that always cheers me up - good conversation and people to talk to ;)

So, here I am sitting at the comp, just kinda writing and being bored. If anyone wants to chat, say hi here, hit me up via PM, or what not :)

Sorry I'm Late...

I was off reading manga. Actually I wasn't even on the computer when you replied, I was cleaning up a bit in the kitchen.

"Making sure everyone does their job" sounds like you have an important job. Sorry it's so boring for you.

Karma is like that. :D

I end up writing everyday if I'm good. Sadly I haven't gotten any of my work posted here. They have issues. The first one had too much formatting. The second one didn't clearly state that the boy was 18. But then, he wasn't 18. He's 17, and that is the story I'm working on now. That's one of the reasons why I'm up so late. Every three or so days I'm up till sunrise because I'm trying to finish my current chapter.

I have not heard of Turn A, sorry. As for Farscape, it's a long show. When the red head showed up along with grandma I was staring to wonder about how the whole thing was going to end. That and I wanted to see the grandma killed off. :) I don't wish for people's death that often, but she got my vote.

I can't remember how young I was when I first started to watch Highlander, since I've been doing it for so long. I watched the re-runs for years and the spin off and all the movies. Which were a bit confusing.

PM's? Never thought of that... I thought we would talk in here unless other plans were made. :)

I'll be up for at least 2 more hours. I'm just started a new chapter, so I have no burning need to stay until I'm done with it.

So what are you writing now? Feel free to show me how this PM things works. :)

Early morning bump :)

Don't know if anyone's interested, but I'm looking forward to the fight tonight (Hopefully Anderson Silva gets an opponent who will do more than fall to his back). I know a lot of women aren't to big on UFC or MMA or fights - but there are a few.

Anyway, feel free to say hi if you're bored and want to talk.

I can help you with your search! Feel at ease friend while I point you in the right direction. Your main problem is that you are looking for an intelligent female- lower your standards. Women are greater in number and twice as smart. You are never going to meet someone of the opposite sex on here for more than four replies unless you ate exceptional in their eyes
( I believe they number 10 in all here)..

Forgot to mention picky very very very picky, did I mention picky? Maybe you should try talking about them and what they want,( you'll learn in time doesn't matter about you. Maybe you should try bieng gay! Straight men are a dying breed, better yet try nobody. A cock in the hand will please better than waiting for the bush

You know, Secretmeat - You seem quite bitter.

I've actually met some amazing women on here, and continue to be friends with a lot of them.

I know there are more than 10 intelligent women on this board (I could easily list 20) - I'm just always curious about who's new or feels like chatting.

Of course, if you feel better with cock-in-hand, go for it man.

I will suggest - maybe a different tactic may net you bigger rewards. That whole thing with honey vs vingar.

Ah well, Thanks for the bump at least ;)

I get attached by an air bed

and more mosquito (yes they are back for me it seems) that caused me to sleep in to catch up on the sleep I missed from like 4:30am when I was bitten awake until a few people left so I could change rooms and you find this person?

What happened to pms? But then, since I wasn't there, I was hoping you had found someone nice to chat with. I see that hope was shot.

Over all I hope your wishes for the match come true. I haven't watched anything that smells like what WWF use to be since it was called WWF. Which as you should know was a good while ago. :)

Write me back anyway you want.
